The vehicle pick up was quick but as I started to drive away I noticed a tire pressure warning. I had assumed they would use a mobile pump but I had to switch vehicles and ended up with an older model. Not a big deal. Staff were friendly and quick. Car clean and ready. Drop off was smooth. Booked thru Costco Travel and saved about $80 compared to the budget site.

Very quick service and painless drop off procedure. The car was new and clean we picked the mystery car and got a Chevy Malibu which was a pleasure to drive. We borrowed the vehicle from Monday to Saturday for 360 dollars approximately which I thought was a decent deal.

I have always used Budget until now. When I returned my car they insisted that a small, quarter sized light scratch that was on the bottom of a door was done by myself. This was clearly a small existing door ding. It was so small that it was difficult to see standing in-front if it (see pics). As I declined insurance they charged me over $1,500 and despite repeated emails send to discuss I have not had anyone return an email or call on the situation. I only parked the car in two spaces while I had it for less than a day, neither of those spots could have had a door ding as no parking spot was on that side. This was nothing short of a sketchy shake down of a customer. Do not rent from the Edmonton Airport Budget. Horrible Customer Service.

If you ever book your car rentals with avis or budget, you need to come see Asmita their one of the best employee with budget she is usually available in
the evenings and i always take my rentals in the night time. She is very polite and helpful with everything, Asmita always takes good care of me and due to that I book with them only every week since my job requires a lot if travelling out of the city.

Thanks to Budget yeg airport rentals for helping me today. I had booked a car at Thrifty but was told when I arrived at their counter that they were out of cars even though I had a confirmation number from a third-party booking app.

Then, Budget came to the rescue. A big thanks to Prianca and a man whose name I didnt get for helping me out of a bind. Thanks so much to the helpful, courteous and friendly staff at Budget! I will always rent from Budget from now on.

My rental experience with this budget location was hassle free, fast, pleasant and met and exceeded my expectations. The employee who checked me in was efficient and helpful, even offering a different vehicle if it suited my needs. The car was clean and comfortable and the return process was easy. Thank you for making what could’ve been a stressful situation one less thing for me to worry about!

Budget never again. Worst service ever. My rental experience was terrible. The car I received was a hazard in Alberta winter weather. The 1800 # is useless. When a business lies and says that they’ll email you confirmation twice and doesn’t follow through, that’s a big red flag. Not good customer service at all.

Our family needed a vehicle around the Christmas holidays last minute and the staff at the Edmonton airport Budget rental office were incredibly helpful. They gave an accurate estimate and were flexible in accommodating our uncertain timing and plans. They were quick and courteous. Most notably, when something required a follow-up, they actually took care of it and called me with an update - and I didn't even have to call to prompt or remind them. It couldn't have been a better experience during an otherwise very stressful time.

Reserved a day of my trip to Edmonton. Called the location 10
Hour in advance explaining my flight will be landing at 1am. The rep I spoke to was kind and took my flight number and advised me reps wait half hour after closing if reservations are made for 1am and to call before I board. Called 10pm to advise the rep working the shift that my flight will land at 1am. I just knew from
The conversation this rep was not going to wait. Already started with attitude and told me budget closes at 1am. I explained I spoke to a rep earlier during the day and mentioned grace period of 30 mins. That’s when the rep mention she will not wait any longer than 1: 30am. I got to the counter at 1: 15 am and the rep already closed up shop and left me stranded. This happen jan 25th 2023. I did not expect this from budget. Going forward will take my business elsewhere.

The day I returned the car I received an email receipt for the amount charged on my VISA and the amount in my agreement. 4 days later I noticed I had been charged a new $43 fee on my credit car. I have received no email from Budget explaining the charge. Totally outrageous.

Ridiculous. Not the counter person's fault. She was working her butt off while training someone! Not a happy lineup.

Of 10 Mins both ways picking up and dropping off. Car had stone chip in windshield that was recorded by their employees in a very detailed vehicle condition report when I picked it up Will definitely use them again

I just changed this review from a 1 to a 3 as the lady at guest service in Edmonton Airport was just one of the most professional I have dealt with and most helpful.
The only suggestion I have is that they have to improve their phone system and have a dispute resolutions email or phone number.

My resolution took 4 month and 6 overall.

Service 0, j'ai fait une réservation et quand elle a vérifié le permis elle a dit qu'il est invalide (permis de Québec), pourtant j'ai pas de problème avec le permis de conduite et j'ai tout les points (c'est juste que je l'ai payé 3 jour avant c'est le système qui la pas encore mise-à-jouré), j'ai lui demandé de vérifier avec le permis de mon ami avec moi elle a dit qu'il est pas valide non plus, s'était un normal, j'ai fait appeler la police et quand il étions là elle a changé ça version en disant que le permis de mon ami est valide et il donne pas le véhicule parce que il est avec moi.

Picking up the car was a smooth and fast. All the questions and concerns were address very professionally. Return procedure was explained and I was on the road in no time.
Overall it was very good experience. And rental car was fantastic perfect for the trip.

Check in lady was super unfriendly should not be in customer service. Talked to me like a 5 year old. Very abrupt and not helpful at all. Also didn't have any knowledge of the online booking process. I specifically booked through budget website to get what I wanted and fell extremely short. No online option for winter tires and specific options for rentals were not available as discovered upon check in.
Also to extend a rental please don't call anywhere else but the location you picked it up from. I spent 45 minutes on the prompt 1800 number to get the run around. Ridiculous process only to find out they couldn't help me and I was told to physically visit a location. Once I called the local location it was extended in 5 minutes

Needed a car rental last night as my boyfriend's truck broke down. We booked a pick up truck online and went to pick it up 3 hours later. They did not have this truck that we reserved and offered a SUV which isn't what he asked for. Also the lady wasn't willing to help a situation where he forgot his pin to his Visa card because he doesn't use it. It's only for emergencies. He had proper identification with him that included 2 pieces of ID. She said for him to call his bank. The bank couldn't change the pin over the phone and the banks were closed, She was rude when I asked if she could manually enter the VISA card number and take an imprint of the card to show that it was present and she refused. She said they required him to enter his pin as it's company policy, which is not true. It states online the Budget website "At the time of rental, the renter is required to present a valid driver's license and credit card with his/her name imprinted on it. The name/address on the credit/debit card MUST match the name/address on the driver’s license" He had presented both these. She was rude, disrespectful and not helpful at all to our situation. If he had just flown in from another province he would've been f***** I worked for Budget myself years ago and this can in fact be done we always took imprints of the card ALWAYS because if the car was dropped of early and after hours you have to manually enter the final amount of the invoice. I would go above and beyond to try and figure out a way to help a customer and leave them highly satisfied with our service. Even the VISA customer service rep was baffled she refused to do it. I wouldn't even give 1 star if it would allow me!

I called to change my reservation time to reflect my flight arrival and they told me there was no need. I called when my flight was delayed to ensure my car was there for me.they told me they alerted the location and that it would be there. I arrived and the location was closed. I was not treated with respect when I called budget to resolve this. In fact, the representative hung up on me and sent me back to the main menu.

This location tried to scam us for not filling up the has upon return (which we had done).

Location said we did not fill up the gas to full upon return and charged us for a full tank without any sort of call or conformation. When I told the rental location that I had a receipt and picture, they back peddled and said this happens by mistake at this location from time-to-time. Sounds like they are trying to skim off the top, dissapointing.

Extremely bad experience I had with budget car rental. Would not recommend it to anyone. There are few other car rentals out there; I would suggest please rent a car from them. Budget has the worst customer service and the company only cares about its' profit and not customers. It was my biggest mistake to give them business. They charged me the same for a five seater car that they promised on a seven seater car. After requesting them a zillion times that it was their representative who gave us the price over the call and also had the confirmation email even after that they would not help and were stuck at their price. After that, they even charged $100 extra saying the car was returned the next day whereas we returned it the night before that too before the given time. If you want a relaxed vacation, do not rent a car from budget because first you will be promised a different rate over a call and will be given a different rate when you pick up, you will be charged the same price regardless if it is a five seater or a seven seater car and be ready for other unexpected charges too! I even requested a full size SUV and they gave me a mid sized one. My entire vacation was ruined as me and my family were not comfortable at all in the car. Never ever going back to budget for renting a car.

Didn't get the car we wanted, had to wait for them to bring the car we wanted ended up with a minivan. A lot of gas consumption. Doesn't matter if you book in advance (like I did) you may get the car you don't want

When I arrived at the desk, the staff didn't give me the same reservation order as my online booking. I asked her and showed her my booking confirmation. She just ignored and told me that she couldn't see my booking. That made me really confused. She didn't help me to check my online booking, and just did what she can see on her computer.

Terrible receptionist (the older lady). Very rude and ignorant! I have booked a couple of times at this location, soly because it is closer to my place, but have never got any good experience. You can have her sitting at her desk, having food or drinking water, randomly glimpse at the counter, and let you wait in front of the counter several minuntes.
It is always a longer waiting time to get my car, even there is no one in the line in front of me. Once checked the car out from the system, it still take her so long to get the car ready and pass the key. Expect to receive ignorance and actually get your car 20+ mins after they check your car out.
I will try to minimize encounter this location.

Few staff work on Sundays, took 35 minutes to get to the counter, and they seemed to be experiencing problems with the check out process. Still waiting to leave with a vehicle, been here for 45 minutes and counting.

The receptionist who handled my reservation was extremely unfriendly to a point she was almost rude. She was the only person in the shop, she seemed like she didn’t want to be there. I casually made a comment that it was quiet that day for a Friday afternoon. She looked at me and appeared annoyed and didn’t respond back at all. After I checked the car and told her the gas was not topped up, she rudely replied just return at the same level. I said is hard to gauge, she just said take a picture. Then walking away. I then asked her are you going to mark it down, she said she will on her copy. I thought she suppose to sign my copy. Anyway, she was not even busy at all.

I reserved and prepaid for a mid-sized sedan. When I arrived I was told they had no cars left - only 1 minivan. I said that was unacceptable. Only then did they phone other locations to get an appropriate vehicle delivered. I was delayed an hour. I received no compensation or reduction on my bill.

Returning a car here is an absolute mess. There's no parking lot, cars are forced to wait on a busy street for their turn to pull in. The location is convenient and the staff are nice, but there just isn't enough space here for a car rental agency

I've been renting from Budget for years. Always had a reasonable experience, not outstanding but reasonable. Had a terrible experience one time, but after speaking to Budget Corporate and the store manager and they were able to correct the issue. So I thought I would try them again.

Huge mistake.

Not only did they shorten their business hours, apparently they have a new store policy that won't allow after-hour drop off without being charged an extra day. Yet they still advertise after-hours drop-off box at the store. The employee at the counter did not advise of this new store policy. She only told me I would be charged an extra day, after I signed and I offered the information that I will be coming in from Calgary, so I may be 30mins late and may need to drop off the car after hours. The agent didn't take time to explain the new policy, wouldn't provide more context, was very short and rude in her answers, and it was obvious she was more interested in closing the store than providing actual customer service.

I will no longer be renting cars from Budget. Worse experience with this location. Rent at your own risk.

I use rental cars quite frequently and have found Budget to be my go to provider. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The cars are always clean and reliable.

Professional and helpful staff at that location. The downtown location now has a bike lane in front of it. But it kind of gives you a heads up for driving in that area with bike lanes and signs galore. Overall I would likely book again but it's best to get there early.

Horrible experience with this place. First they said if I call them in the morning they will send a shuttle to pick me up and take to the office. I tried calling them from 7: 30 - 8: 00 nobody would pick up. Finally got through at 8: 02 and the guy on the phone was pretty rude. He was like I'm the only one here and I'm new at this job, can't do anything for you, you will have to find your way here yourself. Anyway, I get to work late that they cause of this and I have to spend money on the cab from my pocket.
When I get there I tell the guy I have two reservations that I would like to combine. One is after the other. He said just come in and I will give you the same car. I called later in the week twice and was told the same. They couldn't just do it on the phone, and I would have to go in person and that they would give me the same vehicle. So I go on Monday morning, he prepares all the documents and I sign.then he realizes he can't give me the same vehicle. Why? Not really sure. Now I have to pick this car up and go fill up the tank in downtown in the middle of rush hour, cause they will charge me an outrageous amount of money for it. Why did I not fill up the tank? Cause they said three times they will give me the same vehicle.
Finally he gives me this vehicle that is HORRIBLE. Slides at 20KM/H. Crappy all reason tires on them in this weather. NEVER EVER rent from them. It was a horrible experience. I was late to work again today for 2 hours.
Also to update this review, as I was in a rush, I left my apartment's parking pass behind in the vehicle hanging off of the mirror, when I called budget to get it back they told me they had rented the vehicle to ANOTHER CUSTOMER, and that they didn't see anything.and just like that my parking pass was gone and never found, which cost me another $50.
I also called this number provided as a reply by owner. They were of no use.just took note of what I said and I never heard back from them.
