The vinyl Board and Batten product is absolutely terrible. Way too thin and very prone to imperfection even when installed correctly. Product needs to be re-engineered or discontinued. Just facts and experience installing over the years.

We bought windows from them and the manufacture was so bad that we had air come in the house not just that when we contacted them they didn't respond until months later telling us we had no warranty on the windows and that they could do nothing about it when it said we did and they were brand new windows.

Worst customer services, you go there for a small order, you ask them to juste drop your order at the door and you can load your order by yourself so they can serve order costomer with big order faster, (we all know they are busy, we want help) but no they ask you back your 18 foot cube truck at the door for 2 box of vinyl and 1 roll of tyvek. What a waste of time

Absolutely among the worst customer service I’ve experienced. A window had to be warrantied due to moisture ingress. It took them months to deliver… the wrong window, despite detailed explanations which were confirmed by them. Then, I waited another month for the correct one - just to find out that it hadn’t even been ordered at all. Caused me financial loss as the repair was a condition to a real estate transaction. Complete losers.

Their shop is really slow, waited for over an hour and I was third in line. Good quality products s though.

Solid stocking spot for contractors, who know what they need. Not for tourists, not for shopping around. For window shopping go to Monarch.

It is rare to come across a company that is so utterly incompetent. Wrong product, no solutions, no accountability, over-billing. The list is endless. If you are able to go elsewhere I strongly urge you do so. I could not be more disappointed in my experience. They have lost a customer (business) for life.

Great place to work. My husband loves his job here. They have great benefits and a pension plan. The atmosphere is amazing and the bosses actually listen to what you have to say, no matter if you're at the bottom or top.

An absolute joke of a supplier. It takes months to correct their mistake. They overcharge on everything they sell. I have a door service issue that has been over 2 years old and still not corrected.
Stay clear if you take care of your customers.

Order are often mixed, so manually need to check for accuracy. But the price and quality of the product is good

In October 2017 we had a wind storm blow through the neighbourhood. The west side of our house lost a section of siding off of it. No other homes had the kind of damage (or any at all) that we had. We contacted our home builder, Excel Homes. They told us to submit a warranty claim to the manufacturer of the siding, Gentek. (Can’t tag them but definitely shared on their page)

This application process was ridiculous and unnecessarily complicated. We finally had all the pieces together - including the sq.footage of the ENTIRE house siding, then figuring out how many BOXES of siding it would equal.and mailed it away in November.

Finally in January, after hearing nothing from Gentek, I emailed them and was told our claim had been approved but to wait until they could build a quote for us.

Mid-March we receive and offer to pay out or to get the local Gentek company to take care of it and replace it. Assuming a siding company would have knowledge about siding.we chose to let them handle the details. We signed the contract promptly and returned it to the warranty centre.

Mid-May.sent another email and phone call looking for an update. May 30, was told the authorization had been sent and would hear from them “shortly”.

Mid-June.no word yet. Sent another email.they don’t have the product in stock but will receive it in two week, then we will hear from the contractor.

Mid-July.no contact again. Send another email and phone call. 10 days later get a call back saying they are “trying to confirm” when someone will be out to complete the work.
Finally say they will have someone out this week to complete the work! Yaaaaaay!

No show.no call.radio silence.

August - still no siding repair weekly calls from me begin. This is what I am being told.

“Oh it’s not done yet? ! ”

“Your house is “too high” and we can not find a crew who can repair it. ”

“We lost our siding crew. ”

“We just don’t know. ”

“Not much to update you with. Same situation. ”

We have a two story home on a level grade lot.the houses in our community are all roughly the same height. Scaffold rentals are available in our community. I have checked.

Soooo.if EVER you are responsible for picking a siding company. DO NOT PICK GENTEK under ANY circumstance. The customer service is appalling.

Aside from sharing this on social media, I will be posting this rant basically anywhere I can along with starting a Better Business Bureau complaint.

BUYER BEWARE. Gentek is impossible.
