Hertz Car Rental - Edmonton International Airport

The woman working in the booth refused to give us the car we booked 2 weeks earlier through online saying car was unavailable. She gave our car to another Indian family in front of us. She told us the charges and insurance would be the same as our previously booked car, but after receiving the bill, I saw she charged $20 extra per day on our insurance. She lied to us. Scammers are working at Hertz and its totally sickening to see they are getting away with this scam. Government should halt their license and put the scammers in jail.

Friendly staff at the garage who directed where was the car and offered to give direction to hotel. Car was clean and in reasonably good shape.

Good service and great car. Only the port taxes are very high. You should pick up from the city.

If I could give a zero here I would! This rental company is the WORST. NEVER EVER use this company if you would like to rent a car. They are not reliable and worst deceitful. I tried to settle my complaint to their manager "Kurvin" or sounds like that name and told me that the only way they could settle is to provide us with a $100 credit and that they cannot refund. The $100 credit doesn't even equate to the total amount that they should refund from their staff giving me incorrect amount information that lead our final bill way too high. Thought we would just agree with them (credit not refund) rather than getting none. It's been almost a month since I spoke to the manager and we still didn't get the credit. I called numerous times hoping to speak to their manager again to follow up and they would only say he is not around. Today, July 25,2023, they said he is coming at 12nn and will call me. They never called and so I called again and was surprised that they blocked my number and other numbers I used! Very very unprofessional, unreliable, untrustworthy, deceitful and rude company! Never go here or you would regret! All the negative reviews here are all true! Shame on this company promising clients when they can't and blocking our numbers!

Got my review removed but I will continue to make a review on this place as it is a scam. Double, triple check your cars. They rented me a car that was already damaged and I took photos and told them twenty minutes after I picked the car up however I was unable to return it that day. The next day they said they had to investigate and I never heard from them whatsoever. The company that they got to contact me also has 1 stars for being shady and a scam! All the good reviews have been fake or asked for, save your money and go to budget right next door.

The worst rental company I have come across. I had some issues with the billing and was promised a refund. 4 months later, I still didn’t get my refund and now I call them once or twice every week. I get the same response, Manager is “busy” he will call you back. The worst possible way to deal with customers. Now my calls are not even answered.

Car was not that great. Had no navigation maybe that is an extra charge. Staff when returning the car was great.

I reserved a SUV online, but you gave me another vehicle that's triple of the price when I pick up, what a scam. This rental company is untrustworthy.

I remember a few years ago on a trip to Edmonton we went to rent a Vehicle from Hertz at the Edmonton airport. We had issues with a credit card at the time but had spoken to them prior and they told us we could rent with cash/debit no problem. It took us about 2 hours to bus to the airport in a city we had never been prior. We arrived and they told us we'd need a credit card and refused to assist us in anyway. They wouldn't even get us a lift back to where we were staying so just left us stranded.their cutomer service was also no suppport. Then recently we booked a vehicle at an affiliate of theirs "Thrifty". We were allowed to reserve a vehicle but when we arrived to pick up we were notifed that they had none available which almost ruined our weekend. So basically this company is terrible and I would recommed going somewhere else unless absolutley necessary.

I recently rented a car from Hertz and had a great experience returning it. When I went to return the car, a helpful female staff member assisted me and made the return process so simple. I do have one small suggestion that I hope the store manager will see and consider: I accidentally left my phone mount on the car's air vent, and although I called to inquire about it later, I did not receive any follow-up feedback. If Hertz could provide customers with some kind of feedback, even just an email, it would greatly improve customer satisfaction. Overall, I found returning the car to Hertz to be very convenient, and the helpful staff member made the process even smoother.

I have been misqouted with the price for the optional insurance as I have been charge 3 time what was qouted. I have been calling for 5 days EVERYDAY to speak with the manager hoping to fix the issue but I never did. (I am trying yo call them as I write this). I always get told that the manager will call back. No voice no missed call nothing. I worked at customer service too so I will never be rude to the people behind the counter but enough is enougg I don’t appreciate being treated like this. I have been so stressed during this vacation because of this. If you need rental cars go with budget, my brother in law rents with them the same time we picked up ours and the difference is HUGE.

Customer service was amazing. Unfortunately our key card stopped working only 1 day into the rental (which is why this isn’t 5 stars) but Hertz drove another vehicle to our location & took care of it right away for us. Sometimes things happen & this company dealt with it perfectly.

Car rentals at YEG are not open between 12 a.m. And 6 a.m. Therefore unable to rent if your flight is delayed or changed.
May as well be in the middle of nowhere than in a major Canadian city with a international airport.

They decided it was a good idea to close early on boxing day and not update their hours online. Was a surprise to me when I landed from Montréal and couldnt get a car. 80$ uber to go to the hotel and come back the next day which also wasnt reimbursed. Hours online said open when they weren't and somehow I was charged 8$ for gas even though I filled it up to the brim at the airport gas station before driving 30 secs to hertz and taking pictures proving it was full.
