National was a great place to rent a vehicle

I had a confirmed reservation, as soon as I landed I saw the e-mail saying "Welcome to Edmonton, we are waiting for you". Not true. They rented every car in the lot, closed early and left me stranded without a car, without any message or notification. I couldn't get on the phone with them, and good luck getting a call back if you ask National Corporate to reach out to them.
Eventually I got a car the following day. The manager told me they would reimburse the costs of the Uber trips I had to take because of them, they never did. They don't return my messages at all now. I've had multiple interactions with National, but they can't get this location to reach out to me.

I would give this location 0 stars, but 1 is the minimum.

I would give this rental location zero stars if possible. The rental office does not answer phone calls, regardless of how many times you ring, including calls to their National rent a car office. I just wanted to ask some questions about winter tires. I tried more than 50 calls with two different numbers over the last two days, but the office just ignored the calls and did not answer at all. This is absolutely not the way to treat a customer. Regretfully, as an Enterprise Platinum member and an Emerald Executive member, I do not recommend renting from this location. If you have any trouble during the rental, you will never be able to reach them. As for the question about winter tires, Hertz Rent-A-Car answered the call immediately and provided a satisfactory answer. So congratulations, Enterprise, you’ve just lost another customer before he even reached the airport!

Excellent service and staff is extremely friendly. They know me by my name every time I come. Cars are clean and well maintained. Wouldn’t pick another car rental! 5 stars.

This is very unfortunate that people working here not doing well, they steal the things if you forget something in your vehicle, it happened with me, I dropped the vehicle on 18 September (Monday) morning but forgot my jacket in vehicle.when came later to pick then they told me to come another day, I went there three times, they clearly said they don’t have so this mean someone working there grabbed my jacket with him and don’t wana give back, this is the policy of this place, please careful

My spouse and I rented a car for a week from the Edmonton location, for our first time there. During our entire process, we had the privilege of having Manny be our customer service representative. Very friendly, polite, and talkative. Highly recommend this guy. We were able to pick our car quickly, and there was a great selection of vehicles available. We were able to get a fun, and sporty car.

The price for the week was great, considering the airport locations usually cost alot more. Even driving out of the lot, the lady working the booth was also very friendly and kind. We enjoyed our brief interaction with her.

Being executive members with National, we were recognized for our loyalty and felt very welcomed. We will definitely rent from this location next time we come to Edmonton and will be recommending clients and friend's to this location as well.

Just not good. I've been here twice for rentals in the past 3 months. Both through work
First time they were closed even though we gave them the flight info saying when we were in and said we were good for our reservation
Booked through work for discount. Got there and they said because the driver (husband/me) was not the employee discount didn't work. Real reason it was a holiday and they wanted to charge me everything up front and more.
Charged me $800 more and paid upfront instead of after like normal. After 30 days must go to location just 5o say you want extend in person. Normally can be done on phone.
Everything rushed.
Waiting now to see if I got incorrected charged.looks like I got charged 3-4 times for a single use.

Customer service is non-existent at this National Rental Car location in Edmonton Airport. If you leave something behind in the car (in my case, sunglasses), just be aware that you will likely never see them again. You can't get through to the location and even the central National Car Rental customer center in "whoknowswhereville" doesn't provide any help. They just promise you will hear from someone, but you never do.at least not in the 10 days I've been waiting to hear from someone at the Edmonton location. Guess I'm out a pair of nice sunglasses: (

Nice car and nice folks, but they screwed up how many days they thought I needed the car. Then, when they didn't issue a receipt, I had to call - and they still didn't issue one. I had to call a second time, and they finally cleared everything up and sent a receipt.

I have rented from this location many times with little to no isses.
As a Emeral Executive Elite member its unbelievably easy and quick to pick a top quality vehicle and be on your way. Quicker then waiting for a Uber actually. Vehicles are newer and lots to pick from.
Had a small hiccup with the vehicle this past rental and emailed management. Within an hour I had a response.
Akhil Thakur went above and beyond to rectify the situation.
You can rent from this location knowing that if you have an issue you will NOT be taken advantage of and that someone is able to help you.
Cannot be said for some other rental companies these days.

Picked up our car, got great service from the national rep, Arsian Malik, had my wife and I smiling through the whole process. Our second time dealing with Arsian. Will rent here again next time in Edmonton

I Booked for a bigger vehicle and got a confirmation that vehicle is ready to picked up. Reached there to pick my vehicle and they told me they are sold out have no vehicles available. And no body is willing to help out, left us out no where at the airport.

All I can say is wow! I usually rent from another company but decided to join Emarld club. When I got to the Edmonton Airport they directed me to the Emerald Isle where I could select any car.

I decided to switch cars but left my suit jacket in the back seat. When I drove back they said that it might be in the lost and found but they would phone me. They also contacted the customer who rented my old vehicle.

The next day they called me and had my favourite jacket waiting for me when I returned with smiles on their faces. Great customer service. Well tone team National!

Really good place to rent a car from brand new 2023 ford escape only 26km on it when we took it for the day really good value and cheap looking forward to seeing what else I can get from national!

I am very pleased with the customer service I have received from National Car Rental. Whenever I need a car, I make the trip down to the airport rather than renting from one of the neighbourhood branches. Great selection of cars! I am looking forward to my upcoming rentals with National when I go down to Calgary or return to British Columbia.

My first rental experience with National was this one. Likewise, I will DEFINITELY be returning given the service I received. I received assistance from Arslan Malik. He quickly and easily got me into a vehicle. Without a doubt, I'd suggest National. Ignore the bad remarks made by some. One of the best services I've ever received. Shoutout Arslan

Best experience I have ever had! Liz (the manager) was super helpful. She went above and beyond to make us happy. Last time I had a reservation at National in September they had no cars. It was unfortunate. This time they had many to choose from. Liz was able to get us into a very nice vehicle. The other staff was very helpful as well.

This location is the worst one in-comparison to all other National Rentals that I have experienced in Canada, US and several other countries.

These guys look for loopholes in your rental agreements to either rip you off or cancel your car rental last minute.

I had the worst experience dealing with Manni who should not be working in customer facing role as he knows nothing about customer service.

I went to inquire about my rental for later same day as my flight came-in early, I was told no car available, then i was told even if i came back later for my reserved time there are no guarantees as I had a discounted rental with my emerald club…? Like seriously there is cost associated with Emerald club which gives me discounted rates and this location wanted to penalize me for having the emerald membership. Disgusting service by Manni. Also, due to my flight change; I had called this location 23 times in 3 days and call was never answered; even National Reservations and customer service was unable to connect with them as I called them too…. I was told by National customer service that a car is reserved for me and just go into location but it was not as Manni said even though my reservation was done two months ago.i purposely called them 5 minutes before i went in to see if they picked up the phone and they didn’t…. I went in, one person was serving a client and three other employees were just talking and laughing ignoring phone calls.

Avoid National at YEG! They will ruin your day and your trip
