Listened to the Purple hair lady making fun of customers while in ear shot. This is highly unprofessional, rude, and just plain childish.

It would be great to figure out just what they have so you don’t waste time coming here. Website is terrible. I spoke to someone on the phone the day before, and asked about the ground contact boards.the person spoke about them as if they were common item. They only have really long sizes. The shortest one was 14 feet. I can’t fit that in my vehicle.

We will never use Nelson Lumber again, and will make sure no one we know uses them either. Buidling a house for first time, and they made so many errors with truss design, etc. They must just plug info into a computer instead of using their brains or common sense. Customer service is brutal and they are rude and don't seem to care. They left extra material at our job site for weeks, even after being asked to remove it. We are still correcting mistakes that they made. Avoid at all cost!

I went to Nelson lumber on St Albert trail for supplies to build my deck. I got great service at the front counter and in the yard as well. The Spray Lakes Mill has good lumber and you can get it at Nelson Lumber. They also have lots of hardware supplies like carriage bolts, joist hangers, different types of hardware for construction. And the staff there know a lot or have done the thing so can help. I also did my attic insulation with Nelson, DIY blow-in insulation. That worked out pretty good too. See Mark if you are looking to do the insulation job.

Great customer service and very good selection of tolls and much more. If you are looking for a fast sale associated, talk to Ivan. He is knowledgeable and quick at his job.

I don't think anyone should buy any finishing products here. It takes forever for production and Maggie generally seems like they are drunk half the time and totally not interested in helping customers.

If you want to be ripped off and prices suddenly changed on you then this is your goto store. Absolutely despicable what the guy at the till tried to do to us. He suddenly tried to say that the price increased and this was the new price. You legally cannot do this. The price that is listed on the items is what you pay, not what you feel like I should pay. I really hope no one else was ripped off by this shady place.

Brutal in every way. No one there wants to do their job. Salesman just sits there and says they dont carry items until I insisted he actually look it up and of course they have it.
Later I needed to return unused items and their process is to quarantine items for a few days (due to covid) before returning it to stock and then issuing you a credit. Of course the credit never actually gets issued. I'm through showing them how to do their job and its worth a few hundred dollars in lost returns to learn to never shop there again.

I would like to see better organization at this store. 1.5 hours to pick up a small order of baseboards is unacceptable. I've read some of the other reviews and many customers feel the same frustrations. Lots of potential here but might be time to come up with a new system.

My husband went to Nelson lumber with a small list of needs from myself. He tried to patiently give the girl his order.all the while dealing with her making faces and dismissive. Trying to figure out the proper term for an item, instead of helping she just dismissed him and went to leave. He was so frustrated that he said forget and left, calling me to say we will never be shopping there again.

My husband bought doors and some materials about month ago wrost service they were rude and everything was wrong. Won't come here again.

I’ve been to this store twice and called once. When I visited the store I stood in front of the counter for easily 3 minutes while all the employees stood around making small talk, not giving me any acknowledgement. After I spoke up and asked for help they seemed very annoyed to be interrupted and were not very friendly. The 2 times I have called looking for a certain product they were rude, again sounding annoyed that they had to actually do some work. 0/10, I will never go back here. Very poor customer service.

If it would let me add zero stars I would. Costumer service is horrible, waiting on an order that’s almost a week late and not one persons in the store has the decency to call me back and let me know the status. Asked for a manager and was told they were all out of the store. Would not recommend ordering any building material from this store. If they don’t have it in stock go to another store that has decent customer service

Don’t spend your time or money in this place you will be disappointed. Service people were very rude - treated me like I was a big inconvenience. Very disrespectful to me will never be back I will take my money and spend it in a place that shows respect for everyone.

When Scott was the manager the builder service was much better. They need to fire the delivery staff.

Staff is friendly.
Just don't pay for deliver because they just dump it in your yard. There is no forklift to help unloading. They have a 3 ton truck that just tilt back the load till is in the ground. Just dropped 3500$ for them to dump it like it was road crush. Not happy with the kind of deliver that they do. With so many years in business Nelson Lumber should be ashamed with their delivery methods. It will be my last time doing business with this company cause I deserve respect for the money that I just dropped in there. Check their Facebook page to see the pictures of the delivery.

It was weird at first causethe poeple was cold and ignoring the fact that needed help, when i met Mister Sall thing changed, very helpful guy down to earth, ready to help, straight foward in his questions no wondering around.

Employees are friendly and helpful. Work to the best of their abilities to help you out. Have been dealing with Calvin over that last year and a bit with building my shop at home. Has been a great help and has helped out with advice and knowledge

Work with Debbie all the time, she is amazing! Always great customer service, love working with her.
