Practicar Car & Truck Rentals Edmonton

My daughter and I were stranded in Alberta as I had lost my credit card during our flight from Ontario. I could not get a rental without the card anywhere (not the same for other provinces) thankfully these guys have us their last available vehicle so we could make out reservations in Banff. We absolutely loved out 2014 dodge caravan we named Goldie. We will forever be grateful for these guys.

I used to rent from this company and they were good until one time I rented a vehicle to go to prince George, BC. I came back and rented again immediately but this time the guy didn't ask me where my destination was. He probably forgot or just assumed it was the same destination. Anyway I get a call when I'm over by Kelowna and the guys is freaking out saying he has the police tailing me and blaming me, outright lying saying I told him my destination was the same destination as the last time I rented a vehicle and then makes me send him MORE money for the deposit which equalled $1000 and said that was what I had to pay for a deposit if I ever wanted to rent a vehicle again. I stopped renting here, there loss I was a loyal customer. I ended up finding out about an app called 'turo'. Great place to rent new, good condition vehicles for very cheap and have had an amazing experience with them.

If I could give this place no stars I would cuz not even 1 star justifies the horrible service. This place is a total rip off! They will give you a dirty vehicle and over charge you for mileage you did not use not to mention there were issues with the car we got. I suggest you take your business eles where if you want a clean vehicle at a decent price!

After Enterprise left us hanging, saying our reservation didn’t matter, they had no cars for us, we ended up going to Practicar. Shawn was very helpful and understanding of our situation. He gave us a better car for a fair price, lower than Enterprise and gave us some helpful tips for the trip as well. Would definitely recommend this place.

NEVERR GO HERE OWNER IS A THEIF! IF I COULD GUEV 0 STARS I WOULD! WHAT AN ACTUAL JOKE THE OWNER IS! WE LET HIM KNOW WERE GOING ON VACATION WITH OUR NEWBORN AND 6 YEAR OLD TO VANCOUVER, THIS GUY GAVE US A RUSTED OUT 2 DOOR, BROKEN WINDSHIELD WITH OVER 300000.0 km TO IT SO THE CAR DIED ON US TWICE ON WINTER BLACK ICE ROADS! THE DIRT AND GUNK THAT COATED THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS DISGUSTING, EVEN THE SEATS WERE COVERED IN STRAIGHT STAINS EVERYWHERE! OVER CHARGED US FOR MILAGE AND THE WINDSHIELD! WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN A VEHICLE FOR 2 FOR MONTHS FOR WHAT HE CHARGED US FOR 7 DAYS! THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL US OH SHES A RUNNER AND TO MAKE SURE WE BROUGHT IT BACK CLEAN WHEN HE DIDNT EVEN GIVE IT TO US IN ANYWAY CLEAN! EVERYTIME WE DEALT WITH HIM AND ASKED QUESTIONS HE TREATED YOU WITH HEAVY ATTITUDE AND DISRESPECT HE IS THE BIGGEST THEIF AND WORST BUSINESS OWNER YOU WOULD BE WASTING YOUR TIME EVEN GOING HERE!

Great customer service! We booked a car at Enterprise online, when we went there they said no car is available! We were heading to Banff, hotels paid, and Enterprise took no responsibility! Came down here, Shawn was super nice! He gave us a good deal, good car, good price, friendly, and advice about our trip.definitely recommend this place! Do not go to enterprise!

Fantastic service. Very friendly and understanding staff. They made sure they helped me, not themselves. Definitely going back to them if I need another rental.

This firm deserves its old name WRECK CAR rentals. The cars are wreckage and management was not sure of what to offer to costumes, at the time to collect the car the guys obliged you to rent the car for 4 days instead of two days as the office l not be open if you bring it earlier, which was done after the 4 days (office was not opened)
You have to inspect the car thoroughly before you accept from the manager himself, who charges you an insurance for the windshield wich has already at least ten stone chips cracks.the windshield was kept uncleaned so you can't notice the cracks which was not highlighted to costumer.
Secondly you fill the car with petrol abd surprised by company topping up the tank with 22 $ claiming the tank not fully charged.
Vans are old and damaged furniture inside.
Generally it was unpleasant experience

We rented a van. They gave us Ford really old model we had no choice but to take it at last moment.
The car had so many issues wipers was not cleaning properly, brakes were responding late, it was driven more than 300000 kms, acceleration was to low while driving uphill.
Ventilation system was not working properly.
You should do proper inspection before renting the van.
If you only have 1 available so please let the customer know situation rest is choice of customer.

Came here VERY last minute and the staff was absolutely incredible! Donna was the sweetest & most accommodating human and i genuinely enjoyed my experience there (plus there was a puppy which is ALWAYS lovely)

The truck was filthy upon pick up, the the radio didnt work, front differential leaking oil from hubs, brakes were squealing, tailgate jammed, and there was no maintenance done on truck in a very long time. I brought it back totally spotless inside and out and they not only overcharged me they never gave me the 100km free per day they said is part of the package! Not good business!

The car was fine. Unfortunately I was lied to on the phone, then right to my face. They know it - and I know it. This is a business where honesty and trust are hugely important, and expected. Too risky for me to ever consider recommending them.

Randy was accommodating when every other car rental in Edmonton left me out to dry. Would / will rent again

My rental smelled bad (reeked of smoke and bad car freshener) and it was way too expensive.

Have rented from Shawn several times. Quick and easy process, Shawn is always professional and courteous.

Cars are in good shape, will continue to come here when I'm in Edmonton

My wife and I rented from Practicar a few weeks back and we had a great experience. I called the head office (I think its in Calgary) by accident and the fellow who answered was great and referred me directly to the owner of the Edmonton location who lined us up with everything we needed, great customer service from both Practicar personnel! Great to see a team working together to meet customers needs. I would be highly recommend!

I had a very good experience with practicar, I would recommend this place to anyone, they were very professional from the start to the end thanks practicar u guys made it possible for the impossible that day and I was starting to lose hope but once I got to practicar they restored my faith back into humanity.

The pepal there are freindly and. They well help you as much as they can to make you feel satisfid

Was worried the whole 9 hour drive to B. C wondering if the vehicle would even make it, was worried if it would make it back, car didn't start in southern B. C and was told to just boost it. Was worried the whole ride back, then get back and get charged a bunch about $90 extra for random things here and there. Worst company I've dealt with to be honest.having to be worried about transportation while on vacation was unsettling and should not happen when paying for a rental service.

I am giving 5 stars only because of Donna. She was friendly, bubbly, and helpful. I rented a car for two days and paid a $750 deposit because I had a temporary driver’s license and a debit card. A month later, after incurring no tickets, my deposit was refunded.

They always treat me fairly. Vehicles are not the latest models but have always been clean, comfortable, and reliable and have used them for longer trips as well.

Very professional and great service. We had a mix up getting our deposit refunded but once it was brought to their attention they took care of everything. Good quality cars and flexible service.

Positives: Good value for rental.
Negatives: Unorganized. First they didn't have my booking and they started making excuses that because it was done online. Then they found the booking on their Desk. Secondly, when I returned my vehicle they had forgotten that I paid online so they charged me again but then they found out so voided me.

Overall just need some proper organization amongst the staff. Other than that pretty smooth.
