Steer clear of this place at all costs! We recently rented a vehicle from Routes in Calgary and arrived during the -40C weather in January 2024. The first night we had to park the vehicle outside, we had a cord waiting for us to plug in because everyone knows in Alberta that you need to plug your vehicle in below -20C. We couldn’t find the cord or the block heater. THEY RENTED US A VEHICLE WITHOUT A BLOCK HEATER IN JANUARY IN ALBERTA. If that wasn’t bad enough, no one would answer their phone, their voicemail directs you to email them. I emailed them twice and it’s 5 days later and I’ve only received automated responses from them telling me, “If you require immediate assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at our customer care hotline. Our team of dedicated professionals is available 24/7 to assist you. ” There is no “hotline” number or any other contact information on this email reply from them. At one point, our vehicle went into ‘power saver’ mode, this entailed the power steering failing, cold air blowing out the vents and every warning light on the dash going off before the vehicle shut itself off. Luckily, we were pulled over in a safe space by then. When returning the vehicle, they just had a pile of excuses, no accountability. Absolutely terrible customer service, we will NOT be renting from them again and will warn others to do the same.

Bait and switched us without even wining and dining us. Great initial price, showed up and the insurance was 2x the price of the rental. What made the process that much more ‘pleasant’ was the fact that they wouldn’t let us use our ICBC or CC insurance we had for car rentals. Once they had us at their out-of-airport office, they held all the cards. Huge kudos for coming in with a star rating better than Lynx Air

This was not a good rental car experience for us. They were difficult to communicate with and we were forced to buy extra insurance even though we had coverage. Overall highly dissatisfied with our rental through them and definitely would not rent there again.

I would never rent from Routes again. It took 40 minutes for the shuttle to show up. Had to uber it to airport after return because shuttle didn't show up. They rented me a car with chips in windshield and when i returned they asked whether the chips happened on my rental. I told them to charge me for the chips. I suspect they try to charge everyone for chips that were already there.

I don’t recommend this rental car company, specifically the one in Calgary. They are not accommodating and are no help when you are in need of it. Be alert of their hidden policies that only apply to Calgary customers. As Calgarian you have pay extra deposit $1500 where nonCalgarian pay only $500,

It has been my best experience rental cars. The car was excellent and clean. The staff is friendly and I received a personalized treat. If you need to contact them; only call them. One of their staff would reply to the phone, not robots, not long waiting lines. Traveling from the airport to the car rental location is only 10 minutes. The shuttle is clean and has a lot of room for your luggage. Everyone is friendly and professional. I recommend Routes Car Rental instead of the traditional and big companies.

Paid for the rental, tried to cancel it 2 hours after making the booking. Received confirmation that the cancellation went through, but my credit card was still charged. I have emailed, left a voice mail and called countless times and no one has called me back or responded to my email. They indicated that they need 48 - 72 hours to respond to emails but it has exceeded that time frame.

Edited - I finally received a response via email, and was told that because the rental was prepaid, no refunds, no changes, or cancellations were permitted. But your website allowed me to cancel my reservation and I received an email confirmation. If you are going to take my money and ask that I follow your policy, than your company should do the same and not allow me to modify my reservation. You ask your customers to follow a policy that you are unable to do yourselves. Last but not least, I did cancel my reservation 48hours prior.

1, Waiting time for a shuttle bus
They say the shuttle bus runs every 10-15 minutes. However, we should have waited over 20 minutes at Calgary airport.
2, A lot of paperwork
Even though we made a reservation online in advance, we had to complete a lot of paperwork at the shop.
3, Amount of gasoline required to return the car
When we rent a car, the car display showed "distance to empty" was 590km. This number was based on the inspection photo, a female staff showed us. Before returning the vehicle, she asked me to fill the gas to the same level, and I did. However, she said, "it's not enough. "
"distance to empty" shown on display was 596km when I returned, more than 6km than needed. I explained my confusion, then her manager yelled at me. Even after checking the car with him and he realized my explanation was correct, no one in the shop didn't admit their mistakes. I still cannot believe such an unprofessional behavior. This incident spoiled a fun trip.

Don’t rent a car from this company. They are scammers. I purchased their car insurance and they also asked for my car insurance slip. In addition, my total car rent must be $642 but they had have charged me $867 from my credit card. Their customer service is the worst.

Great car but watch out when you return it. We brought it back full (literally just filled up) and they said it wasn’t. I wouldn’t have thought it that strange but when we picked up the vehicle a lady was having an argument with the manager about the same thing.

On a whim, my wife and I were looking to get the best bang for our buck in a short amount of time on a rental vehicle. We came across Routes at a very affordable price compared to the competitors near the Calgary Airport. They were quite flexible as we were upgraded without cost to a vehicle of our choosing that was available. We will definitely go with them again on future trips in Calgary and elsewhere available.

We had a car rented through Routes for this past Saturday night. Our flights were delayed by Air Canada by 4 hours. As soon as we landed, we sent them an Email letting them know that our flights had been delayed. Our flight got in right around 8pm, and Routes unfortunately closed at 8. Our original pickup time was set for 6: 30pm. We had to take an Uber to the place where we were staying, and we figured, "ah it'll be okay, we'll go pick it up in the morning. " We arrived at 8: 15am, and the people there said that because we didn't arrive in a 2 hour window from our original pickup time, they gave our vehicle away and they had no other vehicle for us. They also (extremely rudely) informed us that they would not be able to issue us a refund. How in the world does this place stay in business? We were luckily able to get a last minute rental from Hertz, and got a refund from Priceline. But yeah, will never ever use Routes again

Our car had a mechanical failure just one day after taking the car. It took 24 hours to bring us another car. We lost 2 days of our vacation. After a few calls we received a better car. We appreciated the upgrade but still we lost 2 days.

Terrible customer service! Had a last minute arrival time change due to weather and they did absolutely nothing to help. I tried to reach out to them all afternoon and when I finally got through to them, it was noted as being 23 hours until my scheduled pickup time. Because I spent forever trying to get in touch with someone! I asked if there were any other options, like pick up the car first thing in the morning. Not only was that not an option, but they said I would be charged $50 because the rental wasn’t cancelled within 24 hours. I get it, PoLiCy, but If you’re going to make it difficult to get in touch with you, hold that against your customer, and offer zero other solutions except cancel, get charged $50, and rebook for WAYYY more, you’re an awful company. Oh, and the person I spoke with wasn’t even from the rental location, they loop you to some randomly located person with a bad connection so you can barely understand them. Pay more for Avis or use Turo.

Update: used Turo and it was an amazing experience. Also in response to Routes response, you could have offered a degree of flexibility for first thing pick up the next morning without saying I would be charged $50 as a no show and have to rebook a new reservation that cost way more. You could have a contact system that is much easier and direct in terms of getting in touch with costumer service instead of giving customers the run around to finally make contact (in my case, then making it just under your 24 hr cancellation cut off). A business that cares about their customers makes the effort to deliver the big picture.

If I could give them negative stars I would. I've never been treated so poorly and seen such unprofessional behavior at all levels of management. The manager working there was blatantly yelling at customers. One of the employees told us they actually gave our car away to someone else which is why it was taking so long and the managers tried to lie about it. I submitted a formal complaint to headquarters and nothing was done. They wasted my time with back and forth emails for 3 months with no ATTEMPT at a resolution.

Completely UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE and appalling service.

Besides this, they also do not offer winter tires in the WINTER and the customer service rep tried to tell us that all season tires are "just as safe" which is absolutely not true given the amount of ice on the roads in Alberta winters.

UPDATE: ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, to which they never responded, yet another example of unprofessionalism!

Where do I start.ever feel like you are a second class citizen? Maybe avoid doing business with these people. Under staffed, dirty car, cracked windshield, and kinda rude. Not a great combination.
I don't mind taking a shuttle, heck I don't even mind the fact that their building is kinda smelly. But a clean car and friendly service is kinda a must when you are an airport rental car.

We arrived early after unexpectedly breezing through Canadian customs. Despite phoning ahead (they did not answer the phone! It just rang and rang.) the desk staff adamantly and unkindly refused to release a rental to us (cars were a available) without a full days extra payment for 1.5 hours of use: $300! We had a nice dinner instead but were much later than we wished getting to our hotel.

I did book a car rental online with your company on June 2nd to pick the car from Vancouver airport. It was the worse experience I ever had with a car renal company. The were long line to pick the car and it took them 45 minutes to speak with me because they are short staff. Also they have to hold $500 till return the car. No info was given when book the car about this amount and when I return the car they informed me that it takes 4-5 business day to return the amount. No car rental car company did that before with me.
Most the people who were standing their were very upset about the bad service that we had and for sure I will never use this company again.

If I could rate zero stars I would. The rental states unlimited km but when I got there they said it’s 200km per day maximum and charged at. 20 cents per km additional; nowhere on the add does it state that. On top of that you have to purchase additional insurance and they want to put a $1,500 charge on your credit card (unheard of with any other company in that price range) ended up paying $70 for Uber there and back with no car rental. On top of that the customer service is absolute trash. Save yourself the headache and pay a bit more for any other rental company

Overall, the worst deal out of all the rentals in Calgary area.

I’ve rented cars in calgary 5 times already. I never had a bad experience till I tried this company. Although the airport pickup was prompt; but:

1- They don’t clearly state that we need to bring our own car insurance.

2-They left us stranded in the middle of no where, without a car.

3-My credit card had a $32 non-refundable charge.

4-Personnel at the desk were impossible to work with.

I recommend Enterprise in the first place or Budget.

Routes car rental was fantastic! If have never rented from them, you should consider. Service was great. The shuttle was there right on time, already waiting for us when we arrived at the airport. Just give them a call when you arrive. The car provided was clean and nice, the rates were great, and even when we dropped off the car, they offered to send us back to the hotel (nearby the airport) free of charge! Special thanks to Milan and Harry (or Harris) the driver!

This company stole my money, posted false open hours, attempted to charge me $1500 after paying for third party insurance for no reason and refused to refund me blaming the booking agent. Don’t bother not worth it. Pay a little more and save yourself the hassle. Consider the positive reviews here evidence that even a broken clock is right twice a day.

This company is scamming people out of their money if they are needed a refund. I did not use, touch, or even see the car and they are trying to deny me of a refund. I am planning to report their company for fraud and I strongly recommend that if you are looking to attain a rental car in Calgary to use a secure and vetted service, like the ones within the airport. Even after trying to get in touch with the right department to help you with your request you are sent through several different people who only tell you it’s another department who can help you. And mind you, the final department they send you to is an email, no phone number. They claim they are a real business that operates in many different places yet say the department for refunds does not have a phone line because of different time zones which is an absolutely insane lie to give as almost every company big or small located wherever have phone numbers for contact. I will update on if I receive a refund.

Great experience, pleasant and efficient! We were pleasantly surprised with the service and how quick we got the car and returned it. It put us well ahead in our travels. Thank you to the driver that helped us with the bags - huge help when you have an active toddler. And last but not least, when leaving Calgary we forgot a bag with our daughter’s favourite toys under the car seat. It was a tough flight back! I wrote to Routes - special thanks to Nisha ans Rajni they were able to locate our toys right away and deliver them to us the next day! I didn’t have much hope to see them again, several toys were in Portuguese so irreplaceable! Thank you guys:)

UPDATE: Credit card company got my money back so looks like I got the last laugh. Bunch of crooks/scammers at Routes Car Rental.

Literally the worst car rental place I have ever dealt with and only went with them because they were the only ones with any cars left. (figures). I brought my car back an hour and 19 minutes early and they took $333.91 of my $500 deposit. How does that make any sense? I was told that I would get my deposit refunded to me within 3-5 business days when I dropped the car off and they made no mention of the $333.91 charge. This place is a scam. The guy said the manager would call me back but they never did.

I booked two vehicles for corporate use and they would not accept our corporate card for seperate drivers, they kept asking for personnal credit cards for our drivers, which is Absolute garbage. We have never had to do this with any other companies.

SCAM. Price looks good when you book, but they will get your money once you bring back the car. They are very creative. Preexisting damage documented on check-in and now saying it looks bigger on check-out. Don't take any car with any kind damage especially from them.

Great rate, beautiful new SUV to explore the mountains with. Paid extra for out of province fee and also for windshield chip insurance. Finally getting around to posting this review. Normally, I don't write reviews, but this place needs to work on their customer service as you can clearly tell in the other negative reviews. Specifically Suni (or however you spell it). I understand you have to deal with difficult people all the time but YOU have to also understand that most of us are coming to YOU first from another part of town and YOU are one of the first people providing service to us. So your hospitality does not feel welcome at all, and you clearly do not know how to apologize or feel bad for the customer when something goes wrong. Instead of apologizing or empathizing with the customer you basically minimized them and told them to "read the contract better, " " there no refunds at ALL " and said "I'm very busy right now, I have other important work to do. " What other work, when clearly your customers in front of you are NOT a priority to you first hand. SMH. We are also tired and jet lagged as you clearly do not care because you just get paid and waiting for the place to close. So even though there is contracts, deposit fee, non refundable fee, etc, etc, Even though it is cheap rental place, how you treat people goes a long way. It Does not matter where you come from, humble yourself. The girl that worked there was way more understanding and empathizing and actually apologized, but you sir.take notes.

Confirmation details are a lie. Company punishes local customers with 200 kilometre limits even though ad says unlimited. I’m sure my review will get the generic “you can read it in our local policy” of this isn’t intentional dishonesty change it in the Priceline advertisement you scammers. Also $1500 deposit? Hands down the worst car rental company. I imagine they stay in business from weather events causing damage to a large number of cars forcing people to use them as a last resort.

Not only we had no car but they refused to refund us. We'll call our bank and contest the credit card transaction. It's a fraud. Don't ever rent from this company

Very friendly staff. The car was clean and brand new (only 5000 kilometers). They have competitive prices among their competitors in the area. They have a free shuttle within 10 minutes service between the airport and the location just calling their number. They offer any insurance you want.
I can totally recommended this location to anyone.

Stay away, stay far away, unless you want extra charges on your credit card!

In my option. This place is trying to charge for previous damage on vehicle's.

I rented a vehicle last week and on pick-up inspection found a crack in the windshield plus a lot of other damages, it was noted.

On return vehicle was inspected and given the all good but I had to close the account inside. The agent inside (who wasn't outside) without talking to the other agent brought up right away the vehicle had a cracked windshield and asked how I wanted to pay for the damage. Thankfully I saw the crack in the pick-up inspection and had it added to the form. (again)

It seams this company is sending out damaged vehicles and then trying to charge multiple people for repairs. I have contacted and reported my findings to the Calgary Police.

***Updated after Routes review***

You say you don't charge for existing damage on vehicles then begs the question why did your rep at the snap of a finger bring up the windshield crack upon closing our contract? I have never encountered closing a contract at any other rental agency.

FYI - Calgary Police also agree with me, you guys are trying to scam people for damage charges.

WARNING. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. NEVER book a prepaid reservation with Routes. I made a booking and then cancelled two weeks prior to arrival. The rental contract clearly stated a full refund would be given if cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival. When I made the cancellation they told me I would not be refunded even a dollar of my booking. I tried to escalate to a phone line, there is no one there to take the call. I've been emailing back and forth with 3 agents for weeks now with no avail. I will have to get my credit card dispute resolution team to step in despite the rental contract clearly stating I am owed a refund.
SAVE YOURSELF THE MISERY OF DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY AND BOOK WITH SOMEONE REPUTABLE.

UPDATE 2: I was able to successfully receive the $150 fee back from my TD Merchant Dispute service on my visa card. Again, I would never recommend this company to my worst enemies!

UPDATE: For anyone who has read the owner's reply to this comment - I was NOT aware of a supposed $250 cleaning fee that was to be charged for a few pet hairs being in the vehicle. Again, the rule stipulated no pets, and no pets were in the vehicle. It was NOT in the agreement and was instead an arbitrary dollar amount that has been bullied onto the customer and forced to charge onto the card without consent. Again, I have filed with BBB, Merchant Disputes at my bank, and their corporate office. This isn't just treatment to a customer.

I normally shy away from rental car companies to begin with and is always a last resort for my means of transportation - and Routes did not prove me wrong.

I picked up a jeep wrangler from them for a week and was initially happy with the booking rate as they were the cheapest dealer by $100 for the mid size compact segment. I was fully aware of all their upfront “hustles” like offering expensive insurance, rock and hail damage fees of $75 each, and the like, but knew I wouldn’t be driving the car often and knew I would take care of the vehicle.

Upon my return however I was met with a harsh customer service rep who barely acknowledged me and proceeded to take videos and inspect the jeep with a fine tooth comb. I was aware of their no pets and smoking policy from the onset and I deliberately made other accommodations to not bring my pet in the car at all. They however found 4-5 stray hairs off my jacket in the vehicle and claim I need to pay a $150 cleaning fee. (To put it into perspective my total cost of booking was only $108)

Because the car wasn’t in PRISTINE condition the customer has no power to refute this even though no such charge was in the signed agreement. The general manager was not a professional either in his discussions and I would not recommend this car rental company to any of my worst enemies.

I remained calm throughout the whole process but received no customer service or professionalism in return.

TLDR: Charged obscene $150 cleaning fee for no justification and was charged on my card even after refusing to pay. Run by unprofessionals who bring a bad name to the industry and I will be escalating the issue to BBB, their corporate office, my TD merchant dispute service. At the end of the day, it’s not about the money but the principal that these crooks can get away with this daily with unsuspecting customers.

I would give 6 stars if I could! I've had some nightmare car rental experiences but this was the complete opposite. Routes Car Rental in Calgary was amazing. They made sure the pick up and drop off process was as smooth as possible, and even allowed me to extend my rental for a few hours at the last minute.

My boyfriend misplaced his glasses and even though we were the very last shuttle going to YYC, our driver had no problem driving him back to the car rental to double check the vehicle. After he found his glasses, the shuttle driver offered to drive him BACK to the airport which was so unexpected!

They were so accommodating and I really don't know how it could have gone any smoother. Thank you Routes YYC!

AVOID this place.
Worst experience. I booked the car on Dec26,2020 online on carrentals.com. On the site, it says unlimited km.
When I reached the location on Aero drive, at 9: 05AM on Dec 27,2020, I found none of the staff members wearing mask. Then the next thing I found out that, I am only allowed 200km, rest it will be charged 0.15cents per km.
I showed the lady staff my confirmation with unlimited km.
She start checking on the computer, I thought she's trying to help me. But to my surprise, she showed me some hidden rules, stating some restrictions. And told me that, she can't help me at all with this issue.
It wasted my 45mins.
When I asked her to cancel my booking, she told me to call the company/website where I booked.
When I tried to cancel through the carrentals.com, it did not let me cancel.
I end up paying for the service, which I never used.

"Sir I have confirmation Email with UNLIMITED KM on it. Which I showed it to your staff".

Scam Alert! Read the 1 star reviews they are running a scam with a free upgrade to a Jeep wrangler, breezing thru the insurance conversation by saying your visa has you covered and then upon your return they charge you 599 for a new windshield. When I confronted them, they got very hostile and told me there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Well what I can do I hope is prevent others from being scammed as well which will cost them far more in the long run. People like this should be exhiled

First time using routes rental, a lady named Manny took car of me, I was skeptical of the prices offered for a jeep rental for a week, (if it's to good to be true then it's probably not true), this does not hold true in my case, my $250. For a full week rental with a couple days out of province and windshield coverage included in this price, I'm usually an enterprise guy (as I have been screwed by budget in the past), there a jeep with coverage would have been closer to $600 for 7 days, when I returned the jeep there was a chip I encountered on my journeys which is hard not to do in calgary and bc and the gentlemen that booked me back in said it was not a concern at all which saved me paying the $100 deductible which is upfront at rental time, this impressed me as I figured it was thier way of making a little more money on the rental, v
Cannot say enough nice things about the lady and gentlemen that took car of me and a shuttle back to the airport was also a huge bonus, would not hesitate to use routes car rental on my next trip to Calgary and also recommend this rental company to all from now on, a happy customer here!

We think they are people with a lack of professionalism, we also think that they are people with a lack of respect for clients. I say this because when we were returning the car they told us that we had to pay for the damage of the front rim (scratch), which we did not do. They told us that we had to pay approximately 1500 CAD or more, which seemed supremely unfair and meaningless, because we did not do that damage. The employee repeatedly shouted us that it was our fault and we had to pay for it. After reviewing the previous services that had that same car, the employee realized that this scratch had been reported in a previous service. After this, the employee threw me a piece of paper and told me that we were ready to go. Finally we did not have to pay but the experience was horrible. I would never recommend this company.

Great scam they have going on: Refuse to offer you glass insurance, then 'upgrade' you to a Jeep Wrangler, which I have since learned are famous for having windshields that are rock magnets. Then, when you return the Jeep, they charge you $600.for a windshield that I was quoted less than $200 to replace by various glass businesses.

Worse yet, Routes told me after they gouged me that they have to replace these Jeep windshields "all the time. "

So they pocket a cool $400. Over and over and over again, on the same vehicle.

Do yourself a favor: do business with a reputable car rental company, because these guys are the worst.

You may not expect good, honest and easy service from a car rental business but I have to say, I was very impressed. It's family owned which, in my opinion, makes a huge difference.

They picked me up at the airport in a shuttle as it was a 5 minute drive from the airport. Instead of selling me on doom and gloom to buy the extra insurances (which ca be a lot), I was recommended that I call my personal insurance company to see if I was already covered for a rental which I was. When I was inside going over options, the guy who's supposed to be selling me insurance told me that the AMEX card I was using to pay, may already have coverage. Surprise; it did.

They were straight forward, honest, genuine and didn't try to sell me what I didn't need. A lovely place, lovely people and I would 100% recommend that anyone looking to rent a vehicle drives the little extra to the airport to do so.

Horrible experience and completely unreasonable. In their defence we denied the windshield coverage. A stone chip appeared at the very bottom of the windshield which we never noticed before dropping off the vehicle. They wanted $700 to replace it. I asked for places near by to get it fixed myself. They provide a list but failed to mention the place right next door after I told them I need to catch a flight in 2 hours. The glass specialist next door said he could fill the chip and not replace the window. Routes denied this option and referred back to the policy. In the end Novus Glass right next door replaced the windshield for $300. Never have I seen a rental company so unreasonable. I will never use this company again! Be very aware of what you're signing and READ everything! Horrible business practices!

I rented a car from Routes several weeks in advance. On arrival the company refused to accept my debit mastercard for payment of a 500 dollar bond on the car. This card is a mastercard and has been accepted by every other car rental company I have ever gone to. I offered to pay by direct debit or cash instead, and this was refused. They would also not accept my girlfriend's credit card as she was not driving. Because of this I needed to go back to the airport and rent last minute from another company at twice the price I would have had to pay if I booked in advance. I should note that every single other company renting at Calgary airport informed me there would be no issues whatsoever paying by mastercard debit card. So please enjoy my booking fee, it is the last money you will ever be getting from me.

Excellent service from Jason! He was the only staff running the desk for the entire day and still kept his cool during the busiest hours. He was also super patient when I had issues with my credit card and needed to extend my rental. He extended my rental at the same rate - that almost never happens with the other car rental companies I've used.

The guy who did my walkaround check was great too (I didn't get his name). He bounced into work early and stayed positive even though he had a long night ahead with just Jason and him as the only ones running the operation.

I booked an online deal and Routes - Off Airport had the very best rate. Good selection of cars. I would definitely rent from them again.

Free shuttle pick up from Calgary airport, didnt have to wait for long.
The company offers the cheapest affordable rate for my trip compared to any other companies. The best thing is my free upgrade - from small car to bad ass new Jeep 4x4! The staffs are friendly and they never force me to buy the extra insurance for the car (i already have one). Completely happy with the service! And thanks for the free shuttle back to the airport despite me returning the car past their business hours. Excellent!

I may never look any further than the Routes Aero Dr location. I fly into Calgary and rent a car several times a year. The proximity to the airport and the competitive prices make this a good choice for me but the friendly staff and excellent service has earned my repeat business.

Service is great, there’s a shuttle ot’s only a quick ride, staff is very nice, and there’s no wait. Highly recommend (take the windshield insurance if you go to Banff)

Great service as last time! They have best rates and cars. More and more discounts. Giving them two less star coz they charge me for gas like $20 but it was $5-$10 less coz the nearby gas station is like 7km and i have to drive the vechile am not going to pickup in my hands.

Excellent price and customer service. They provide pick up option at Calgary Airport and the whole rental process was quick and efficient. I loved the Kia forte I rented, it is excellent on gas and fun to drive. They have a good selection of cars and open on Saturday as well.

I cannot express enough how grateful and appreciative I am of Routes Car Rental in Calgary. Our rental with another company (who I will not name) was cancelled at the last minute, and we needed to reserve a rental car for our trip to Banff as soon as we arrived at the Calgary airport. Routes provided us with an extremely reasonable quote for our four-day stay, which was MUCH less than any other company we looked into (including the young-riders fee!), and provided a shuttle from the airport to their location (conveniently 7 minutes away). The staff were extremely helpful, kind, and funny - which was needed during that stressful time. I asked one employee how much it would cost to upgrade from a Kia to a Jeep, to which he provided another beyond reasonable offer. I told him I had to decline because my friend did not want to pay more - and he ended up giving us the Jeep at no additional cost! We absolutely loved it, and took numerous pictures of our handsome rental in Banff National Park (see attached). Upon our (sad) return, the drop-off process was seamless, and Routes provided a shuttle back to the airport. I 300% recommend Routes and would rent from them again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic service! Hands down worth the very short shuttle ride a few km away! They have a great selection of vehicles that are perfect for Alberta driving conditions and amazing prices to match! Sunny was particularly helpful and I will book through him every visit back to Calgary!

We got our car at 11pm at night in the dark, and we did our walk around without being about to see much. Our first service attendant was nice so we didn't mind, we laughed through it, and were on our way. On the way back, dropping off the car, they tried to pin us with a $700 bill for a 'chip' in the windshield, which was now visible in the 10AM sunlight. The dude was pretty sketchy, but eventually we got off the hook for no charge.

Kinda woulda preferred to pay a tad more and get better service.

Great friendly service! Had the opportunity to take a new Wrangler on road trip to the USA, great vehicle, perfect for our trip. Took a chance on these guys as I usually rent from the bigger outfits. No regrets, will rent from them again.
