Poorly run booking service. I booked a car hauler several day ahead and was told that i did not need a trailer light hookup.
Got to Calgary shop and now i MUST have a working trailer light connection. My connection was not working so all of my efforts were a MASSIVE waste of time.

So, you have the credit card information which doesn’t mean you can charge however you want. Booked it for 50km approximate used 45km so, you didn’t changed the amount at the end. Also, you charged me for $25 extra for the fuel even I fuel up the tank. Honestly not exact as yours but still 14litres short (Did I booked Lamborghini?) (it was close to F so, assume it should only need 2-3 litters more) for 45km. Just wow…. Customer service is worst at this place they will hang up on you or put you on brief hold. This was my last visit I will make sure no one from my family or friends will visit this place again.

The worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life. After being given a dangerous vehicle to drive, I raised concerns about it and was dismissed by employees. As I suspected, the tire needed replacing after all and had a wall bulge and leak. I lost an entire day of moving and missed an important appointment because of U-Hauls poor roadside assistance service. After 3 service providers were dispatched, the tire was finally changed but it was already dark by this time. Over the course of 3 days I was lied to, hung up on, spent over 3 hours on hold while trying to move, transferred to call centres all over north america, promised the manager at this location would call me to address my concerns only to wait 3 days without a call back. I finally returned the vehicle and the employees were extremely rude and unhelpful. Truly the worst experience I've ever had with a business. Will never be using U-Haul again.

Pretty good experience! Check-in was slightly tedious and confusing, but I think they were training a new employee, so it's understandable.

This is by far the best U-Haul Depot in the city, I've been to most. Great stock on hand. The staff are always friendly and helpful! If you need storage there's really good options nearby too!

We hired the Blackfoot UHaul team to help move my studio. My mom Yassmeen did all the booking ahead of time and we had the pleasure of meeting Michelle once we got to the Blackfoot location to pickup. Not only is Michelle an absolute ray of sunshine, her customer service went above and beyond what we could have expected of her. She helped us with any inquiries and concerns we had, and had a solution for everything we needed help with. It was an added bonus that she’s got the voice of angel I told her I need to put her in my pocket so she can read audio books to me at request LOL. All in all, 10/10 for smiles, and service. I’ve been using uhaul quite a bit the past 2 months due to having to move out of my old apartment abruptly. Usually the Blackfoot location is fine, but my last experience was really frustrating. I booked a 15’ truck for 2pm but when I got there I was told it moved to 3pm. My verification email specifically said 2pm, so I was irritated as I was on a time crunch and did not make this change myself. I was told to go home and they would give me a call when the truck is ready. I got a call at 2: 30 saying it was actually ready, so I drove back over. The communication between staff must be horrible as when I got there, the lady helping me had NO clue what was happening and tried telling me I didn’t have a rental booked at all. In the end it was figured out, but it was much more tedious and confusing then it should have been….

Michelle, the manager, was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Fantastic customer service at every step but she went out of her way to make it easy.

We needed a trailer on Oct 2 but we were not sure if the truck was wired properly or the right hitch etc. We arrived and there was more than enough staff to help everyone not to mention the staff were all amazing.
They were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. This was a very low value rental yet I was treated like their biggest client.
I got all hooked up and on my way and everything went great.

I liked this location. I booked for hitch installation and the installer was very honest and explained the difficulty of hitch installation on my car. I went there for second time to buy the hitch to give it to my mechanic to install it. The lady at front desk was so kind and helpful too.

We have been to this location twice. They always only have one person working and even though you book your item for a certain time, they are always running almost an hour behind. Terrible customer service. Will never use this location again.

If you book a bigger truck.last minute they will call you to inform its not available and will give you a smaller one so they can charge double on KM.wasted so much of my Time and money. The truck I requested wasn’t available and I had to change All my plans because of their unprofessional handling.

Called me 1 hr before my appointment to inform me that theres no truck available.how do you think we should manage when you notify us in such a short time.
There were couple more customers at the location with the same situation.
My suggestion is do not confirm appointments if you cant keep up.

My daughters needed a truck to move. It was a little bit last notice but they made it happen. We were in and out pretty quick picking up and dropping off. Fantastic customer service from all that we encountered. Definitely recommend!

The worst experience at this Uhaul ever. Avoid if possible, although I know that’s not always an option. Was given a faulty truck as the battery was dying and nearly dead, it had to be jumped before we left the parking lot. We asked multiple times if it would be ok and if it would die again, we asked if we could take their automatic booster just in case. Our concerns were waved off and we were told to just “be positive”. Truck died 3 times on our move, we were late for our move in and delayed several hours while we attempted to find solutions. When it died for the final time (unable to be jumped by multiple cars) it was in front of a parkade entrance late in the evening. Was told we had to wait for hours for roadside assistance to come and replace the battery, they finally showed up around 3am so we could finally move the truck and do the return. Staff on the phone were always lovely but wait times were long to talk to a person. Was told a manager would contact me in four business days but now on business day number nine with no contact.

Customer service was professional and helpful. The manager helped clear up a km traveled difference that originally increased my bill. She gave me a refund for the difference plus a credit. Thank you

Rented a 10ft truck several weeks prior. Confirmed the day prior to pickup with an upgrade to 15ft. Arrived at opening and received a text message while in line that my rental was moved 50kms away, meanwhile they had multiple 10 and 15ft trucks on site. The employee helping me told me they i could pay 50$ to get one of those trucks, and then subsequently told that it wasnt an option. Overall poor form to arbitrarily bump me when i showed up on time. Management was dismissive and unhelpful.

Staff were very friendly and efficient. They even gave me credit for putting more gas in the tank than was required. The vehicle was new and well maintained. Great selection. I was able to change the vehicle I wanted to rent at the last minute. The return process was a breeze. I would definitely use these guys again when I need a vehicle to move something.

I didn't realize upon giving a gleaming review that for a cargo van for a week. They nearly charged me $600 dollar. Absolutely brutal. The receipt invoicing show they hustled me for everything they possibly could. Absolutely brutal. I'm certainly not impressed by any means. I asked for 1000 kilometers a day for the origal two day period. Somehow became 1000 Kilometers for the intire week.

Booked a 20 foot truck online weeks in advance. Showed up on move day and they told me there were no 20 foot trucks. No notice or phone call for the change. They gave me a 15 foot truck, which had less than a 1/4 tank. Whatever, it’s a few bucks of fuel and that’s how they gave the truck to me. Took the truck back at similar levels and I was charged because I was slightly under 1/4 of a tank. If you are going to charge customers extra at least fill the truck back up, take some ownership of your broken process instead of blaming customers for not filling the trucks.

Had the pleasure of dealing with Michelle at the front desk! We picked up our truck with the mobile app and when we looked like we were having an issue returning it she rushed up and helped us out inside! She was very kind and fun to talk to! Great experience! Thanks Michelle!

Horrible customer service experience. I called to book a moving truck and was given a price, after shopping around to obtain other quotes in less than an hour the price had changed at this location. I was running out of time so I proceeded with the new price, they called back two days later to arrange pickup time and the price changed again. The communication and competency level of customer service was horrible. I cancelled my reservation and booked the same truck at Enterprise Truck Rental, it included KMS and was much cheaper, I would never deal with this location again.

Have rented a couple of times from this location and recently moved to SK with truck and auto transport. The service went above and beyond to ensure I had a safe ride. Every 200 kms checked tightness of transport and not once did it get loose and the 1000 km journey. I would recommend this location to anyone who may need support for trips. Kudos to all the staff!

The truck is not sound and broke down and customer service and roadside assistance still has not resolved.

We’ve been dealing with this location for a decade. The staff are friendly and fair. The equipment is top notch. We’ve driven trucks cross country many times and always without incident.

We are moving from Calgary to Toronto and we decided to pack our stuff in house ourselves! We were there and Michelle was very helpful! She is very friendly and caring. Listened carefully to my concerns and came up with several solutions. I felt less stressed when leaving knowing that my problems were well addressed. Thank you

We tried the mobile pickup feature but it seems like the bugs haven't been worked out of it yet. It took longer than expected to get our vehicle and I had to wait for additional help from the lot attendants since the gas gauge was lower than the contract stated. The van ran very well once it was all sorted

I have rented trailers from this location many times without any issues. Recently I booked a 20' truck but was having issues with the reservation online and the price kept increasing. Michelle and her team took care of me and sorted everything out to make sure I had the truck I needed, when I needed it, and even drove me to a place where I could leave my car for a couple days. 10/10 service and would absolutely recommend this location.

You should probably have someone competent actually program your return program since it doesn’t work with safari at all. I had to download chrome after trying time and time again to sign the car in at the end of the day. It’s 2021 this shouldn’t be a problem.

I hate to give a low rating because the staff are always super helpful but this place is so understaffed. If you have a truck booked don't expect to actually get it at the time booked.

I go purchase boxes at the Blackfoot Trail location and each time I am served by Laura De Groot it's always with enthusiasm. I will not go any location other than Blackfoot trail because of her exceptional service.

I recently moved to Calgary from Lethbridge using a U haul from the west side Lethbridge U haul location which ended up being the worst lemon of a vehicle I have had the displeasure of renting. Upon taking 14 hours to travel what was supposed to be a 2 hour drive, I contacted the U haul in Lethbridge which was adamant on keeping all of my money for basically a tow ride to Calgary. Upon hearing this, I went to the drop off U haul location on Blackfoot in Calgary and the general manager, Michelle Primo immediately took care of me and was sympathetic to my situation. For that, I give her 5 stars for being a champion of the customer. Thank you Michelle.

I needed to make a one-way return after moving my daughter across the province. Another u-haul placed refused to take it - U-haul at Blackfoot Trail were happy to help. Friendly and fast. Excellent staff!

Staff was great beyond belief but you need to update literature. A tow dolley does not fit a minivan.

Worst customer service I have ever had is with these guys at this particular store. They dont know anything always trying to hide behind their "SYSTEM" (computer). I have been using U Haul services from years in different cities but this one is terrible.

What is the point of "checking in" on line of you have to wait two hours once you show up?

Needed a last minute trailer to finish moving out of our house from Calgary to Fort Sask. Booked a 4x8 the night before, showed up 9am on the dot for our 9am reservation.fast forward to 9: 50am and all 4 employees casually stroll in with 8 people waiting, 3 have already left. Not one staff acknowledged the delay or apologized for the wait. When it was brought up to one of the staff, the actually got defensive and gave the customer attitude. We needed them and they let us down.

Had to rent a car trailer from this location. It is a very dysfunctional location. Employees talking over other employees while checking people out at the register, nobody at the counters, trailer was broken when I picked it up wiring was cut and axel chains were broken. Took about an hour and a half to pick up a trailer.wasn’t impressed with the service.

One day before my move, Uhaul called me to tell me my vehicle transport trailer is in Raymond, Alberta, which is 2.5 hours (one way) out of my way. They said they'd add on kilometers so I can go pick it up, but wouldn't compensate for gas or even the 5 hours of my time to pick it up.
I was assured that this is my only option.
Booking the trailer 6 weeks in advance does not ensure anything.

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. Hopefully one day Uhaul won't be a monopoly.

Terrible service, terrible experience
Over charged, when called out was over charged given a whole slew of excuses.such as the online prices are USD.not the case and still would not explain why was changed 75% more then the online quote for this. Had the trailer for 1 hour total. Was told I would receive a “discount” when I returned trailer. Had to explain that a refund was not a discount, that they had over charged me and were not doing me a favour by paying back MY that money they owed me.
Did not need that much aggravation for something that should have been simple

Mixed reviews on customer service. Got an appointment to fit a new hitch and a 4 bike rack. When I reached there I been told that they don't have a rack. When I asked why didn't you guys advised me in advance before my appointment, no one knew what to answer or no one cared.

But guy who fit the hitch was good and I was out in 30 mins.
Second time I went there an staff couldnt help me with my order. Not just this particular branch but overall service is terrible. Half of the time employees dont know what they are doing.

Booked a truck 3 weeks ahead and show up and get told the reservation is only until noon that day. When I told them I booked it for the whole day, both employees were rude and basically told me too bad. The only alternative they offered was a cargo van, even though I had booked a 10ft truck. There was no attempt at trying to help fix their mistake or find a solution, just complete disregard and extreme attitude. Walked out without a truck and only then did they try to offer a $50 credit, which clearly does not help me on my move day. Will be using Penske next time I need a truck.

Good location, just pay attention to the turn off Blackfoot. Friendly and helpful staff. Did the conformation call. The truck was like new and ready on time.

Fantastic customer service despite having to move and change the mistakingly made order. Willing to make accomodations, very patient and polite. Very helpful staff.

Very slow service. Waited 20mins on the phone to ask a simple question and staff just dropped my call. Maybe they don’t want give any service or get my business.

Decent service up front. Some comments from the staff at the time of renting towards returns made me feel uncomfortable: " he's late! Bill him! Too bad for them! Charge them the cleaning fee! Etc")

I wasn't too concerned. However, was charged on my credit card after rental and then received a past due and late charge one month later. Very shady doubling billing attempt. Left me with a gross feeling. Disputing the charge is proving to be a nightmare. Go somewhere else.

Absolutely awful. I was there on April 30, and maddie helped us. She was terrible. Not only was she clearly high or drunk while on shift but was also very rude and mouthy to us. She was extremely slow and could clearly not do her job properly. It took her three tries to take a picture of our license and when we asked why she said “I know how to do my job” and “I don’t need any help”. A terrible customer experience. Another man came and helped us and was so nice and helpful. Way better than maddie.

Horrible company they told us they had a uhaul ready for us to pick up at 10 am and then after that they told us we had a reservation then they called and said nothing is available. Would NOT recommend

The lady who WAS helping me was awesome and very kind unfortunately she works for a horrible person I feel bad for her. She started by coming out and making sure to tell me I better have it back before they close. I was there at 5: 30pm.but I was going to try my best to cause she told me to. Then I couldn't use cash but was never even told that when I made the reservation and the other people were going to take my cash.she was a beautiful tall black lady unfortunately she has a horrible personality and crumby people skills. Sucks to be me no uhaul now.

Parking is terrible. They have nowhere for you to park to get paperwork done. The 3 spots they have out front are always full as well as the entire street. Otherwise it was great.
They need to move some uhauls and make another 3-4 parking spots and it would be much better. We had to park 4 businesses down.

Rent the truck several times in the this location. Staffs are very helpful. Last time they upgrade without charge as the one we ask not available at the pickup time.

When I called in to ask for the cost of extending my rental for one hour, the agent advised that he has waived the fees for this hour, so I did act accordingly. I dropped it 15 minutes before the extra one hour to discover that they have charged me for additional 6 hours and the CDW

The 15 foot Uhaul truck we rented was filthy dirty on the outside, had well below 3/4 of gas upon pickup and they marked it was over 3/4. One of the windshield wipers was broken and scratching the windshield everytime it was turned on. While driving on Deerfoot Tr the front drivers side tire sounded like it was flat if driven above 90 Km/hr. When we returned the truck through the after hours booking system. We were charged for 2 days we only had it for 12 hours, and because I clicked the vehicle is dirty option we were charged $25.00. Not impressed with this poor service at all.

Either the front counter staff was extremely high on drugs or they just don't care about the job

I rented one of the smaller trucks for 3 hours, during which I covered 28 miles (or 45km), only to ship a couple dozen boxes of hardwood flooring. I filled up 2 gallons (or 7 liters) of fuel only to have this U-Haul location charge me for an additional 21 Liters (7 gallons). In other words, they are saying that their 10/15ft fleet vehicle burns 63 liters of fuel on 100km. This is absurd and extremely disappointing that they conduct their business this way.
To make matters worse, they rent vehicles with no winter tires in Canada, specifically Alberta of all places, where it recently dumped 45cm of snow. This is lawsuit just waiting to happen, where they wont be able to use "it's in the contract" as a lame excuse to weasel their way out like they did with me, especially when someone gets hurt or worse off, loses their life.
I would not recommend renting from this location!

I have always preferred the Blackfoot Trail location of uhaul. Thry are courteous, professional, and things always get done.
I have personally heard horror stories on most of the othe locations in Calgary.

Terrible experience. If the Uhaul is not back on time, I was told it would be reported to the police as stolen. The manager was quite rude and I found it hard to come to a solution. Very disappointed.

Went to pick up furniture-Oh no, the vehicle is too small; it won't fit! Panic sets in. But wait! U-Haul has bigger vehicles. Called Blackfoot Trail U-Haul and BAM! Lickity split, the lady on the phone was able to hook me up with the 9 foot cargo van within the hour! Thanks to that young lady who took my call for help and answered swiftly. The staff, all, were friendly and helpful. Simple pick up and drop off. Streamlined.

The sales agent could not find the key to my contract UHaul truck. He had to change to another one which wasted me over half hour. Hopefully in the future they will be more organized and effective.

If you are in Calgary and you need a specific size of trailer or truck to rent in one way is better to come to this location, mostly they will have what you need.

Visiting a UHaul is guaranteed to result in 1. Long wait times (for no apparent reason), 2.a socio-economic cross-section worthy of research funding (always fascinating who is moving what and how), and 3.a lesson in how NOT to treat customers.

Probably the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. The girl at the cash acted like I was wasting her time. Yawning and rolling her eyes. Hire people that like their job or someone who is atleast willing to put a smile on their face. You've lost my business.

Deplorable service, you should be ashamed of yourself. Wow, can’t not believe the slowness of the service at this location. Over one hour in line to wait for a pick up that we made online. No hustle or get up & go from the staff. Unorganized, lots of information that they asked for that seems excessive & could’ve been streamlined through the online booking process. U-haul, get your act together, with a company that has been around for 74 years you would think they could have exceptional service & a more streamlined approach. Will never recommend this company to anyone.

Reserved a vehicle 3 weeks in advance. Show up at Blackfoot location and they told me the truck is now at Barlow location. No phone call or email to tell me in advance. Barlow location had 20+ people in line with one person working the desk on a Saturday. This place is an absolute joke. Find an alternative if you can.

It was very good. Although all the debit machines were down and the girl was alone and had to deal with a loud obnoxious drunk. She maintained her cool and was very professional and apologetic for his behaviour and the system being down

Uhaul has to be the worst managed company of all time. Not only did i not get a truck after having to drive around the city to other locations, i still got charged $200+. Ive been dealing with the support group on the website and still made no progress. What a bunch of crooks. In hindsight i would sooner move my stuff one carload at a time then use this unorganized, dysfunctional company.

This was by far the worst experience with any type of business I have ever had. The employees at this location seemed disinterested and they were rude. Dealing with their insurance department was even worse. The woman was patronizing, ignorant and downright abusive.

Honestly I think that this place is disorganized. They tell people who call that none is available so that people online can book the uhauls, which is very unfortunate to those who can't use the internet. There was also 1 staff member having people sign forms which made us go a half hour passed our pick up time. They should know early morning is when it's going to be most busy and hope they strive to change and better this location.

Did the online check in and out process. Simple but some directions were lacking. Staff was helpful but kind of apathetic and while I don't expect them to wash my feet and bow every time I don't think growling and muttering is really what I want from a customer experience either. Not a big deal honestly.

Grumpy, slow moving staff and laughable customer service. The return after hours app nor website worked on my phone, 3 equally displeased people were also returning vehicles and we joked about what an ordeal it was, because of their terrible system to return a rental vehicle. I have been here 4 times and always got terrible service, I feel like yelling at the people behind the counter "you know you're not the DMV right? You could smile or at least stop talking to me as if I just kicked your dog". Will be going to a different location just on principle next time I need to rent a Cube Van.

24/7 truck share was not where it was supposed to be and staff did not inform us trucks were all in the lot and not on 5th (we confirmed we had the 24/7 checkin and we would be headed to 5th)

No parking and we had to wait in the reservation line to pick up the matress bag and shrink wrap we ordered, should have a separate line for people just picking up supplies or orders.

Took us an hour and a half to get out from when we arrived.

My Girlfriend called Blackfoot uhaul on the weekend to book a moving truck. At first this location told her they have anything at all available. We called a handful of other uhaul locations got ahold of one, so we booked a truck for the upcoming friday with set times etc. We were also told the time may change? Anyway we were told to pick it up and pay and the Blackfoot location? 10 minutes before you told us you didnt have a truck now you do ok whatever. Today she gets a text or email notifing her that our time has changed to 6 hours later than original booking time. Unacceptable. Called back to see what going on so amidst the run around, phone tag, and stupid time changes we had to cancel because uhaul customer service has no idea whats going on. Piss poor service. Will NOT be dealing with uhaul again. Train your staff properly and get organised.

Great quick pick up experience, the employee even lent us his personal hitch because ours was taking a long time and was difficult to put together and we had an upset baby in the car. Truly above and beyond service!
