Can’t fault their beer. Award winning stuff for good reason. Sadly, the employees working here seem to be under duress. Unhelpful and aloof in their approach to service. The feeling I always get here is a fake-happy corporate front, a certain we-are-so-cool-and-exclusive-you-should-feel-privileged-to-be-here-and-you’re-lucky-we-are-willing-to-accommodate-you sensation. Yeah, that kind of feeling which just doesn’t suit such a charming and quaint neighborhood brewery. I’ve tried almost every brewery in the LM and this one stands out but not in a good way. Take their amazing beers home, kill the staff with kindness and call it a night.
Nice brewery in a cute neighbourhood. Beer was crisp and refreshing. The rotating tap is usually my go to. Had the winter berry and it was delightful. Food looked meh as I sat at the front and just watched it all be made. Busy place and not enough seating it felt like.
Stopped in here for breakfast/brunch and a flight before heading off for our float plane home. There was a lineup when we got there (early) so a very popular place. My travelling companion and his daughter are very up on 33 acres and their beer offerings. The Bennies were decent but I was not taken by the beers. I was suffering from the night before so I might have been slightly jaded. I do like their Mescal Gose when I can get it locally but the other offerings were a bit too flavorful (I know that's weird criticism) for my liking. Nice little store in the restaurant, cans available, and a decent outdoors patio.
I recently visited 33 Acres Brewing and wanted to take a moment to share my feedback regarding the service we experienced.
While I was impressed with the quality of the beer and the atmosphere of the brewery, we unfortunately encountered some unkind and unfair service during our visit.
I understand that working in the hospitality industry can be challenging, especially during busy times, but I felt that the attitude of one of the staff members was dismissive, unfriendly, and not understanding at all. As a customer, we value being treated with respect and kindness, and unfortunately, that was not our experience on this occasion.
I wanted to bring this to your attention as I believe that the service provided by your staff plays a crucial role in shaping the overall customer experience. I appreciate the effort that your team puts into providing a great product, and I am confident that with a little attention to customer service, 33 Acres Brewing could provide an even better experience for its patrons.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback.
Fantastic local brewery. Great beers, good range and all done pretty well. My favourites are the French blanche and schwarzbier but everything I've tried has been above average. Great selection of snacks and excellent vibes.
At the counter when you yourself order, pay and pick up your own drinks, their point-of-sale device asks for a tip. Asks for a tip before you've even received any service. If I'm doing everything myself, I should tip myself. Not patronizing businesses or bringing my friends to these types of places who run this model.
The beer here is world-class. Delicious! One of Vancouver’s finest. The low rating is for the consistently inconsistent level of service provided. Bar/service attendants need to be formally trained on how to handle customer enquiries and transactions, or 33 Acres needs to implement stricter hiring practices. FAIL.
Skilled in a range of beers. The fluffy clouds IPA was my favorite (Citra & El dorado). Great take out selection and prices. Very cool surf atmosphere and space
One of my favourites. Good coffee, good beer, nice staff and super bright, minimalist aesthetic. Always my top suggestion for when friends/family wanna catch up when I’m in town. Love my canvas tote bag too… I’m on my 2nd one but now it’s super worn out. Gonna have my mum bring me another one when she comes to visit me in Morocco!
Great brewery and casual date spot for beers in Vancouver.
Also have a great menu for light food!
They are a super popular spot, so prepare to wait when visiting in the summer on a weekend. Usually a 30m wait typical weekend afternoon on warmer days.
I had the Dry Hopped Pilsner and the Hazy Pale Ale, and I quite liked them. It has a sophisticated atmosphere, but there is a counter so it feels easy to enter even by yourself.
The brunch was an awful experience. How do you mess up avocado toast? Took an hour to arrive to the table. Avocado toast came with soggy af toast (if you can call it that), the hot item came luke warm. It was obviously a staffing issue (which I understand). However, if we'd been communicated to that the wait for food was an hour, that at least sets expectations or provides the customer a choice. Food was average. This place was a regular go to but honestly standards are slipping for prices and tip expected
So I hate not giving this place more stars because I've had many many great times here, along with good beer and food. This place was one of my favourite places to go for brunch prior to the pandemic, during which, they understandably stopped this service. I continued to support them throughout the pandemic and yesterday was the first time I visited again for brunch in a couple of years. The food was decent, ok but the service and the staff was nothing like I remembered. It was busy but not only did we get our food at completely different times (my friend and I), they forgot about our coffees until about 30 min after we had already eaten. And when they brought one of them, it was the wrong order. All of this would be fine if the interactions with the staff didn't make it feel like we were inconveniencing them by even being there (even after tipping 18% each). The person making the coffees had one of the worst attitudes I've encountered in the service industry. It's a shame because I love this place.so I really hope that the service improves in the future - back to what it used to be like pre-pandemic.
Always felt this place felt they were better than anybody, including me. Maybe a little better now but still a little snooty and tipping when you go to the bar (default 18%!), that’s just Vancouver but wrong. Remember if the base goes up the tip goes up.
