This place has changed a lot in terms of quality of food and service. It used to be a favourite spot among my friends. It's very disappointing what it has become.

1. Refused to provide tap water to customers: We were told we have to pay for water, even a cup of tap water. It's normaly to charge for bottle water, sparkling or still water. However, I've never seen any restaurants, anywhere, that charge for tap water for dining customers. This is ridiculous. Completely not service-oriented!

2. The quality of food has deteriorated significantly, and all customers eating out of take out containers: I used to love their sweet and sour noodle soup. However, the flavour has changed, not in a good way. The taste was quite bland. Not to mention they serve all food in take-out containers! Yes that's right! They made dining customers eating out of take out paper containers. For most food it may not be a problem. But for noodle soup, they separate the noodle and soup into two containers and the noodle all stick together into a thick mass. Even after we tried to mix it with the soup, they didn't mii well and it's never become "noddle soup". We were eating noodle AND soup. When we saw they did this to other customers (before we got our order), we politely asked if we have noddle soup in a regular dining bowl (not two take out cups). They refused. Then we asked if they can serve the noodle soup in a single take out container and not two. They refused again. This is extremely poor and selfish service (or no service at all). Not to mention how environmentally unfriendly to go through so many disposable take out containers each day! Such a wasteful practice!

3. Payment (including tips) before sitting down: I knew they are like this from before. However, it is unfair to pay tips even before receiving any service. We already paid tips and then found out we can't even have a cup of tap water and will be eating soggy noodle out of take out containers. There was no customer service at all. This place does not treat their patrons well. They do not deserve any tips.

This little hole in the wall is such a gem! They have incredible vegan options, huge portions, and affordable pricing! Everyone working there was incredibly nice.

10/10 recommend!

This is my first review ever, and that also shows how upset and frustrated I am. I usually avoid publicizing unfortunate situations and would choose to solve any issues privately. In this case, I tried to take matters at the time of, but the staff with glasses and a hairnet at cash (assuming she/her) was not apologetic at all.

This was the first time I came here. In this restaurant, the menu is at the door we are asked to order beforehand even if we were to dine-in. The menu does a good job labelling what’s vegan and what isn’t (which I acknowledge is great, because I’m strictly vegan and have lots of allergies). We ordered a few dishes totalling up to $61 and tipped since we were dining in.

Once I ordered and sat down to wait, just around 5 mins after, I noticed that I forgot to ask whether any food item has peanuts in it, so I lined up again, waiting around 15 mins to ask since there were others in front of me. By the time I got to cash again, I was informed that one of the dishes which we ordered, the Taiwanese Chow Mien - Vegan (also menu picture below) has Satay sauce, and the others “should” be fine. I asked politely whether they can make another one. Immediately, this staff blamed me and said that it’s already made and they won’t be able to do another one because I should have disclosed any allergies beforehand. I quietly sat down as I recognize that it was my fault.

While waiting, I realized that the reason why I didn’t think to ask was because the menu didn’t highlight “peanuts” at all. I came up to the register again, and just kindly reminded them that it was important to highlight these allergens. The staff defensively said that “It is common sense to be letting the restaurant know about your allergies since there’s so many ingredients”. Fair statement, I agree to that, but I also did let them know as soon as the line up was gone, and they just chose not to do anything about it. Additionally, I also mentioned that that peanuts, amongst a few others food items are common allergies, and I’ve never encountered any issues while being vegan for the the past 7 years and being allergic to peanuts (amongst 20+ things) all my life (even in town and when travelling). The staff then started giving me a life lesson and said that she’s allergic to hazelnut and would always mention it all the time, and that I should have done that. I appreciate the concern, but as an established restaurant, I think labelling your food items properly is important.

My main issue with this situation is that the staff chose to respond defensively, blamed me, essentially told me how how I should be living my life regardless of knowing that I’ve been having dietary restrictions (vegan) for the past 7 years and 20+ allergies all my life. In the most severe cases, mislabelling or in this situation, the lack of labelling, could have led to death.

At the end, their resolution was to refund my tip because they "didn't ask for it", which was a bit silly because it was meant as an extra appreciation of their service/work. A simple apology or “I’ll look into listing my allergens or updating my menu” would have resolved it for me.

On a side note, even with dine-in, this place only uses take-out container and they don't offer water at all. Compared to other Taiwanese vegetarian/vegan food that I've had, the quality and taste of the food that is produced here is not worth the price, the service they provide, and the waste they create.

Delicious vegetarian cuisine! Our favorites were the eggplant and basil in cha hua sauce (the best!), the gyoza, the deep fried mushrooms, and the sesame noodles.

Legitimately the best, most filling, utterly delicious vegetarian food I've had in a long time. I'll happily rave this place to anyone who will listen. The Bentos are 2 meals worth and the katsu had even my meat eating friends hooked.

It's very unfortunate that great food is hindered by lack of service, shortage of staff, and lack of communication. I've ordered here many times in the past and have always enjoyed the food but not the service. On CNY we decided to order take out. The order was put in at 3: 15pm. Went in at 3: 45pm to check and the lady said they missed the online order and will put a rush to it and be done in 20 mins. 4: 51pm and we're still sitting here in the parking lot waiting for our orders. I see customers pile up and existing customers who have been waiting just as long leave and get frustrated. What should've been a quick takeout order has now become 2 hours wasted just sitting and waiting. Will not be back for a good while as my time is more valuable than sitting around for a business to get it right.

Worst vegetarian food ever. I don't understand why would anyone order food at this place. I would rather order fries at McDonald's and call it a day. Do not order from here. There are many other vegetarian restaurants around.

So flavourful! Large portions. Great variety of veggies in the burdock pot I ordered and the broth was especially delicious. Went for a small walk from my hotel and thankful to have found this place while on a layover. Thank you!

You MUST get their fried oyster mushrooms! The absolute best fried food I have ever eaten.

Tried the Szechuan hot pot, it was way too bland and had no flavour. Kind of felt like hot water with rice and some damn veggies. Hot pot was served in a take out container and was weird to have it that way. Wouldn't go back.
