49th Parallel Café & Lucky's Doughnuts - MAIN

I can under the rush since I work in the same industry but the doughnuts are another level, it’s amazing I don’t know what you guys do to it to make it consistent and fluffy but I’m definitely coming back to Vancouver for this!

Otherwise the drinks was alright, it wasn’t what I expected but still good no bad, maybe too creamy for the taste of the coffee

Nice place, good ambience not too busy. Served by Val who was really friendly and accommodating of my complicated large order. Usually pretty nervous about holding up a line for a large order but Val was really friendly and fast! Thanks!

$1.20 extra charge for plant-based milk is a joke. Way out of line considering it costs pennies for the substituted product.

Bringing coffee and donuts to a while other level this fantastic coffee shop offers up the delicious Lucky’s Doughnuts that are hard to resist. The Tiramisu Bismarck was incredibly satisfying.

The sourdough donuts are worth five stars alone. Excellent espresso as well. I wish I lived close enough to visit more often.

We arrived at around 230pm and, luckily, it wasn't that packed as I was expecting. Lovin' that rustic, farmhouse feel inside. I had their Coffee of the Day and it was pleasant as it can be especially paired with the Vanilla Old Fashioned donut. The donut, on the other hand, is that comfort food kind of donut. Nothing to write he about but gives you that "slow down and breathe" feeling.

The best donuts in town! Coffee is amazing too. My favourite donut was the creme brulee but it used to be always sold out so I gave up and never came back. Sad.

Great spot for a quick coffee. They have really good brews and the aesthetic is perfect for studying or just hanging out with friends. I’m not entirely sure if they have plugs or internet but if they do, I would recommend this coffee shop for doing work as well.

Really tasty doughnuts & tea and reasonable prices. Nice staff. Just a bit disappointing the patio area doesn't allow dogs anymore because that's what we came for haha.

Probably in the top 3 for donuts for me in Metro Vancouver. Their old fashioned ones (any flavour, but original is my fave) are incredible. They have a nice crisp on the outside. The crueller is also so so good. It also has a lighter crisp but still has that doughy middle that cruellers normally have. I didnt see an apple fritter which is what i always get when judging donut shops but still, these are some of the best around.

The coffee is also top notch. I also like how you get to put the creamer and sugar yourself, not many places let you do that anymore.

Yay indoor dining is back! 49th is another one of my go to study spots.they open till 7! Spacious seating when it's not so busy, great donuts from luckys, good music, and great consistent drinks.cool staff and cool interior too! You're missing out if you havent tried their donuts

This place definitely gets busy but the donuts and drinks have been very consistent.

I tried their various locations and this location has the best interior decor, feels very warm and homey

I don't know what kind of alchemy they dabble in, but this is the best coffee I've ever had (among some excellent coffees). The Main St.space is pretty generic in its decor, but WHO CARES.

We arrived in a snowy Vancouver early yesterday morning and happened to be staying nearby Lucky’s whom we’ve enjoyed on previous visits. We were attempting to connect with our rental host and decided to grab some coffee and delicious donuts and some WiFi. After placing our order and leaving a gracious tip our server informed us that they do not allow customers to use the internet on ‘weekends’ because it tends to get busy. As this was 10am, and far from busy, not to mention it’s currently Covid time, I informed our server of our recent arrival and need to connect with our rental host and the fact that I just spent $20 at their establishment he proceeds to tell me that there’s nothing he can do and that he can’t help us. This was by far the worst customer service I’ve come across in ages. I guess Christmas spirit doesn’t extend to Boxing Day. Regardless, of how delicious the donuts are here this lack of regard for the customer I believe will keep me from returning in the future.

Tried their coco pop hot chocolate with salted caramel sauce, it comes with mini brioche doughnut and popcorn coverd with salted caramel. It was so good worth the drive from Langley.
Super friendly staff and excellent service. Will definitely come back to try different flavors.

A beautiful coffee shop on Main Street inside and out. Temperature inside was set appropriately for the weather today. They also feature unique doughnuts with interesting flavors. The lighting is dim but suitable and adds ambiance. The 49th parallel is a reference I think to the border of British Columbia and the United States which seems to be making a reference to our Soverignty it is next to Dairy Queen and across from St. Patrick's Cathedral.

I LOVE 49th parallel coffee. Their old school espresso is the best. I just started exploring their other options and they are all great. The donuts at this location were fresh and delicious. Will return many times!

Visiting Vancouver from Toronto this week. We have been ordering coffee from 49th Parallel for over a year now so we thought it'd make sense to visit while we were in Vancouver. Coffee was delicious as expected and the donuts were awesome (not too sweet). Tried all the other coffee shops while we were in Vancouver and 49th Parallel is definitely the best.

Ordered flat white and a dessert. Forgot the name of the dessert on the photo below. Food tastes good with raspberry flavor, especially it’s not too sweet. Flat white is normal just as I got from other cafe shops.

Awesome places and tons of coffee and donuts selection. I have lots of good memories here hanging out with family and friends.

Lucky's has, in my opinion, the best donut selection in Vancouver. The flavours and vehicles span a wider breadth than Lee's, and they make some of the best old fashioned / cake style donuts I've ever had. They're crunchy, thick-glazed, and dense - the way they should be.

Venezuelan is sweeter than the store on 4th but I enjoy them both. My only complaint is that they seem to have less and less yeasty doughnuts. Service is great!

I was there on labor day on the sept 6th 2021 waiting in line on a typical covid day, products that i ordered were nice.it was just the server at cash, she seemed annoyed at what she was doing and didnt look look she wanted to be there. I work in service too and i treat my customers like Gold.with a simple smile and a good attitude i think this girl had red hair a little smile will help get through your work day. If she put herself in a customers person a little brightness will rub off to others.will return but this girl doesnt seem shes happy at her cafe job, i work at a bakery it aint the best but it will do for now

Very unhappy with the service as of late. Yesterday, on a way to visit Mom in hospice I stopped by to pick up her favourite donut. The staff said they did not have it, even though I saw it on a rack in the back. So I got a coffee and sat down outside. Five minutes later, I kid you not, the donuts from the back were available.
Today, on my way to hospice care again I stopped by, 30 min later to avoid the previous day’s disappointment, and same thing. Ordered bunch for kids and mom’s favourite was not available, though I saw it on the rack in the back. I asked the staff if they were sure and they said yes, not available, sold out. So I walked out, canceling my $30 dollar purchase.

I drive for forty-five minutes one way from Surrey just to eat their donuts. Yes it is worth it.

Overall experience was mediocre. I ordered a couple of donuts and one of their seasonal drinks (iced dark sugar latte). The donuts and drink both tasted okay, albeit the donuts were a little bit stale. Also, if I'm paying over $6 for a drink, I would expect it to be filled to the top (not with an inch of room left over). I did mention light ice, but other coffee places have always filled the drink to the brim.

Good donuts, reasonable prices, place gets busy sometimes, hard to find seating specially due to the restrictions.

Doughnuts and coffee are tasty, but they often lack variety (in doughnuts). I rarely see anything that is not a glazed or double chocolate doughnut. Disappointing.

Terrible! Could not give it "0" stars Stay away, especially from the faux lemon merengue and classic vanilla (tasted like a salted stale backed good) and check your coffee cup; one of ours tasted like cleaning solution. Too busy to complain.we just left never to return.

Really good donuts, a bit pricey but what do you expect it's vancouver! They have a vegan selection but it is not that great (probably because it is also gluten free.so the donuts are kinda dry) I would like to see vegan donuts that are not gluten free! The 5$ coffee + donut deal is the way to go there!

Specialty donut shop in a trendy part of Vancouver. Great place to hang out. It is also combined with a specialty coffee bar. A bit pricey though. They offer vegan selections too. Street parking meters or walk and park in the residential areas. #letsguide

I’m a massive doughnut lover, they have some good ones however it really depends on who makes them. The customer service is horrific. Nobody ever seems to know what’s going on. For example: I just asked for two poppyseed doughnut waited 10 mins for them to look at t shirt sizes? They then handed me one chocolate one and pushed on to the next client. Not impressed. This doughnut is also clearly old- it’s dry and tastes like baking soda. I would go back however the massive line you have to wait in isn’t worth it. They likely won’t be able to figure out what’s wrong anyways. Brutal. You need some organization and to train your staff.

The ornament donut was super pretty, and colourful, the flavours were fresh and delicious! It was raspberry flavoured which tasted fresh with no artificial flavours. And their were a small slice of ginger on there as well to help enhance the raspberry flavours of the donut. I was surprised by the flavours at first but after a couple more bits it got me drooling for more.

The cheese croissant was very flaky, delicious and rich in cheese flavour. I was super happy and satisfied with the taste and texture of the croissant! I’d definitely get this again!

This place was super cute and the size of the foods are huge. Worth my money and I’d come back without a doubt. Next time I’m getting a latte with it!

They are up there in my top favs (for donuts).
Not a lot of flavours but some of them are unique. They have 2 different types of donuts (not flavs). I personally am not a fan of cakey donuts so I stick to the regular donuts, which are super soft/fluffy/semi-dense/airy. Although they are are the price of 3 Krispy Kreme donuts, they are very filling and big.so in a way they are worth it. (Krispy Kreme original glaze is still my fav).
If you are looking for something less greasy and sweet compared to Krispy Kreme.this is the place.
Do keep in mind to go early, because the last few hours tend to limit on the flav choices (got there 2 hours before closing and only half the flavours were left with only a few donuts of each flav).

Honestly underwhelmed for the price point. There are donut places closer to where I live that I would be inclined to visit more often, instead of trekking all the way into Vancouver

Can’t rate this place higher, sorry. No matter the time of day, be it first thing in the morning, late morning or midday, they never seem to have that wide a selection anymore (4-5 types max). Very disappointing. Parking is horrendous as well. I expect better from this place and they let us down every time. For the price, there are much better places in Vancouver. Not worth the effort

Today was perfect timing for us, with christmas just around the corner and Lucky’s bringing out their Eggnog Snowball donuts! If you’re reading this and you haven’t tried this donut you must come, and no they didn’t tell
me to write this lol. You wont regret it, I guess you can call us lucky?

Went in the morning and they didn't have vegan donuts before 9AM but they did have banana bread. The other donuts themselves were great and coffee is always nice. Comfy outdoor seating

The first place I've found that makes its own almond milk during my road trip up from LA.
Slightly sweetened with dates, but I'll let that pass as the coffee is great and so is the service.
Added bonus is that they hsvevveg add n donuts, made on site.

Really like the doughnuts.probably the main reason I go. They have something for everyone with a couple of vegan options which is great! Can be hard to get seating during peak hours

Excellent coffee and excellent donuts. Though, you can't go wrong on this section of Main Street (the JJ Bean is 1 block away). Be a pro and go during the off hours, weekdays anytime after 10am. There is also a coffee and donuts special, which is a go to for most people. If you want to fit in, be sure to wear nicely fitting clothing that looks normal, but is relatively expensive and your designer sunglasses.

We love the donuts here, it's always a treat when we get these brought to the office. Recently we placed a special order for a birthday celebration (screw a cake!), it was super successful. Everyone was able to take what they wanted. The donuts were so unique and so fresh. Yes the price is higher than your average donut shop, but everyone is made fresh in house and you are certainly getting what you paid for.

They have gluten-free friendly donuts that are dense and moist but still fluffy. And their coffee is amazing. The staff are super sweet too. I highly recommend!

Really good donuts, coffee is fairly decent too. Attitude of baristas aren’t often the greatest, but the donuts and coffee and atmosphere make up for it.

I am a regular latte-drinker here and buy whole beans and I consistently receive excellent service. The lattes are always perfectly made at the right temperature. The few times I've had a donut they have been extremely fresh. It's always busy and sometimes hard to find a seat but love the vibes and the music, I will keep coming back.

They have some of the best donuts in town, if not the best. My favorites are apple bacon fritter, chocolate old fashioned and pistachio ring. You can't go wrong with pairing any donut with their coffee.

Very busy. I've tried coming here three times now, but have yet to see a single available seat for me and my partner. The donuts looked good, but I didn't bother waiting in the long line with 3 other cafes on the same block

Doughnut: 10/10, Coffee: 10/10, Atmosphere: 8/10, WiFi: 0/10. Came here to use my laptop and found out they have no wifi on weekends until 4pm. That's unfortunate. Nice place though.

Cool place! Barista coffee, decaf and delicious donuts. Progressive ambiance, cool people, you can work, you can date, you can have fun, you can hide, you can sit outside. I recommend - plus the whole area.

Love this place, one of my favourite coffee places in the area for sure - staff are helpful, the $5 coffee and donut deal is a winner and the flavours are fantastic.

Service was great, had pb and chocolate which was great, and took the servers suggestion on the raspberry / matcha filled donut. The Match filling was actually so disgusting, the donut texture and icing was amazing. I had to scoop out that matcha pudding. Other wise I was pretty stoked.

Decent doughnuts but they have a metallic taste possibly from too much baking soda/powder. Most of the staff are friendly but a few bad apples seem snobby and arrogant. It's sad to see staff look down on customers who don't fit the cookie cutter main street look. Customer service is vital regardless of what social class you think the customer is in. I will be avoiding this establishment, as seeing this type of behaviour is not something I can support.

Comfort is a 5/5, place is beautiful cozy and lots of diverse seating. Music is good but not distracting.

Drinks are a 1/5. Ordered a dry cappuccino got a latte. Did the terrible thing and asked for a remake, got the same results. They don’t properly aerate their milk for foam. Anyways, i drank my latte but the shots were also very bad. I think it might just be the barista, so i’ll give this place another shot. Plus the donuts looked really good.

Nice enough, trendy place. Overpriced though, the coffee is okay and the pastries (especially the croissants) aren't as good as rival coffee shops and bakeries.

The donuts and coffee are both great, my rating is for the service! Would it be terrible for anyone working the till here to smile? Overwhelming in my experience, the baristas have been deadpan and not particularly helpful with questions around the coffee. The lack of service is not worth the cost of the coffee.

Always a great selection of fresh made donuts. Innovative, creative, and most importantly, delicious! Pair one, two or half a dozen with their wonderful hot chocolate, steaming, spicy tea or hot, fresh coffee. Great atmosphere at the tables, harvest table, window seats or watching the pastry chefs at work at the back. Additional seating outside when it's dry or you decide to give Fido a sweet treat. They can be busy on weekends but the friendly, efficient staff will have you ready to go with a smile as quickly as they can. Best deal; take a mixed dozen and enjoy at home!
