7th taste (Ananda Bhavan)

The poricha parota is available only here in the entire Vancouver. It's very crunchy like it's supposed to be and tasty. The chicken vindaloo is subtle and perfectly the best companion for the parota.

Despite the slightly sketchy looking underground parking and the aging building, 7th Taste managed to surprise us with its flavors. The interior lacked charm, and the service was uninspiring. However, the Masala Dosa and Mango Lassi were true standouts. The dosa was impeccably crisp with a flavorful filling of aalo and onion, while the lassi was delightfully tasty with the right mix of sweet and tang.

It's evident that the restaurant needs some sprucing up to match the quality of its cuisine. The staff could also work on improving the overall dining experience by paying attention to the customers. Yet, the unexpectedly delightful taste of their dishes overshadows these shortcomings.

For those willing to overlook the lackluster ambiance and slow service in exchange for a satisfying culinary experience, 7th Taste might just surprise your taste buds.

For lunch the 1st we had was Palak Paneer Dosa which was fantasicly delicious. However we ordered Fried Ckicken Briyani which tasted old heated up and not fresh. The service was lovely and welcoming and I liked the server very much. Hwvr, I would advise others to only to order a dosa so you wont be disappointed.

An excellent experience that feels like stepping into someones home. A relaxing environment with solid pricing and amazing food and portions. The best food I have had this year.

I have to admit, they make one of the best dosa I’ve had, and I’ve had many in South asia. What makes them great is they have very balanced spices, and not too much like most Indian places. You can taste the actual ingredients, the vegetables, the sides along the spices. Highly recommend the alugobi dosa, paneer or Chettinad one.

Tried rava masala and mysore masala dosa for the first time. It's superb. Very fresh food. Hope they continue with the quality which keeps customers loyal to u always.

OMG, such good food and so quick. I am from the Island and we barely get to eat South Indian cuisine which is good. On top of that, the order came in so quick we were shocked. Excellent food. Would definately recommend visiting once.

Had visited today for dinner with friends. Food is authentic taste. Dosa are good. We placed a couple of dosa, Combo mix, and some indo-chiness dishes.
They served food without Onion-garlic/Swaminarayan food. (Call before arrival).
Overall, good atmosphere, customer service, and food are awesome.

We recently visited 7th Taste, a South Indian restaurant, and I must say, it was a good experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance and decor took me straight to the heart of South India.

Mr. Ravi and his wife Santhi were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu, which offered a fantastic selection of dishes from all over South India. The food was simply delicious and authentic, and bursting with flavors.

I particularly enjoyed the dosas, which were thin and crispy, and the sambar and Tomato chutney was the perfect accompaniment. The Kothu Roti ordered for my wife was spicy and full of flavor. For my daughter we ordered Idly which was soft and tasted perfect. Also, we tried sambar vada and filter coffee, which too tasted great.

Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to explore the culinary delights of South India. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the food was top-notch.

I ordered Chicken 65 biriyani. The most worst biriyani I have even tested in Canada. It's a complete wastage of money.

I've been here a few times, actually I just came from there now, and it is always a great experience. The hospitality of the owner is really good, he makes you feel you're at home. Is a friendly and relaxed environment. The food tastes home made and authentic. You must also try the mango lassi is so delicious.

Run by an extremely wonderful family, very humble and very welcoming. The food is amazing.

It might look like a.tiny shop in a plaza, and I was surprised too when I went there after looking at reviews. Still have it a shot and was not disappointed. Great Rasam, dosa and coffee. Lacks ambience but keeps up with great food.

This restaurant serves authentic South Indian cuisine, they have a variety of tasty dosas and some dishes from other parts of India as well. The restaurant has a very homely environment as it’s also run by a couple and their sons who share real love for cooking. They also provide good food suggestions if you ask, I tried my favourite paneer masala dosa and took home chetinad dosa. The owner suggested me to try their mango lassi which tasted better than I thought.

I am amazed with the food here. We ordered online, some Dosa, Uttapam, Idli, Wada and also Samosas. Everything was up to the mark and tasty. Honestly when the restaurant was Ananda Bhavan some years back, it was average. That's why we never used to order. Everything has changed and changed for good!

So yummy. The chicken kothu roti is so juicy. The plain porotta with chettinad chicken is irresistible.

We are experienced dosa-tasters and thought we knew everywhere in town until we heard about this place! All the traditional dishes you would expect from a South Indian restaurant, with enough vegan options for us. We got the idly & vada combo, eggplant dosa, and Chettinad mixed vegetable curry (this one was my fav!) and portion size was exactly the right amount for dinner for two. Food tastes fresh and high quality - noticeably less oily than other dosa places. Simple, unassuming decor in an inconspicuous location - the kind of place you might just walk by and not notice if you weren't looking for it.

We went for dine in and ordered Pav Bhaji and Onion Masala Dosa. It was AMAZING in taste. Very simple homelike food. Reminded me of Home? The owner himself came to serve us, such a nice and humble human being. Loved the entire experience. 10/10 recommend.

Stopped for a late lunch passing along Kingsway and WOW am i glad i did. The food was fabulous, and the wonderful couple running the restaurant were charming. Had lamb curry and sambar.and will definitely be back soon.
