Abdul's BBQ

The best lamb wrap in the Greater Vancouver area hands down! I had lamb wrap without salad but with tabouli, hummus and xtra garlic sauce! The most savoury wrap I had since being in Canada!

Most people are talking about the shawarma here, and I agree, it's good. But I want to talk about the falafel. Granted, I haven't tried all the places in town, but comparing the ones I do know, Abdul's is by far the best. He makes the falafel balls when you order them, so they are hot and crispy and fresh. His house made hot sauce, tahini, and other filings and condiments in the wraps are also the best I have had. Be sure to ask him to put the pickled turnips in your wrap.
I originally wrote here that unfortunately, once Abdul himself leaves the restaurant and goes home to his family (I'll guess somewhere around 4PM), the quality of the food takes a marked decline. And for that reason I had taken one star away for the times he isn't there. However, my visit today proved mere wrong. Abdul was not there and my falafel was still just as good as ever, therefore I can restore my enthusiastic 5 star rating.

Abdul Shawarma is my go-to spot for shawarmas! The flavors are great and the portions are generous. Every bite is a burst of deliciousness. The prices are reasonable too, making it a perfect spot for a satisfying meal. Whether it's chicken, beef, lamb or falafel, their shawarmas never disappoint. I highly recommend Abdul’s Shawarma to all shawarma lovers out there!

Lamb has very little flavor and is dry and the lettuce tasted off.

Restaurant doesn’t even have a grill to crisp your wrap (never seen a shawarma spot let alone a place with BBQ in their name not have a grill).

Some of the best falafel donair I've ever had. Amazing flavour and they came make it spicy in the perfect way.

If you are looking for the ABSOLUTE BEST shawarma in probably all of BC — then, you have to check out Abdul’s BBQ!
I have been getting my shawarma from here for about 2 decades, and will continue to go back!
Its the special sauces, plus, the exception quality meats and homemade falafel that makes this place a hit!

Got a wrap and it was not good at all. The meat was so dry and tasteless and yet the wrap itself was so greasy and soggy that the paper wrapper became gross to hold. I ended up unwrapping the whole thing and rewrapping it properly in tinfoil.

Also the lettuce and meat are both shredded and cut so small (that is probably why it is so dry) and lettuce gets everywhere as soon as you take a bite.

At least they gave a good portion of food but I didn't even end up finishing it because I didn't like it at all.

Got this the other day - the meat was good but the lady that made the wrap didn't do a great job, it basically fell apart. The sauce wasn't very distributed so one side of the wrap was sauceless and the other side broke apart from all the sauce. There are definitely better options around tbh.

The flavour of this Donair is unmatched. Hands down the best in town. Lamb and beef are actual chunks of meat, not that generic ground mass you usually see. Sooooo gooood!

I tried this place a few weeks ago and it was just okay. The food was a bit under seasoned but it was fine for a quick eat. I will say, their hot sauce is VERY hot. I love spice so it was fine for me, but if you're not sure, definitely ask for the sauce on the side.

They put hot sauce and garlic sauce inside of the pita that comes on the side. Like I said, I enjoyed it but definitely let them know to put the sauces on the side if you like your pita to be a bit more structured.

Food used to be great, but the last 2 times ive been there, the lamb has been dry and overcooked/burnt, maybe from having it sit out too long

One of the dirtiest places I’ve ever been to. The meat they served was scraps from the bottom and was burnt and “sandy” on the teeth. Would not recommend to enemies.

After hearing people online rave about how great this place is, we decided to try Abdul's after being disappointed by most other places. As the star rating suggests, this place not only tastes far worse than others, with the meat being dry, it looked like it was literally scrapped from the bottom of a pan and shredded into pieces. As for price, I find it almost offensive that they charge 20 dollars for a chicken plate and 23 dollars for a lamb plate. There are far better places in this city, and there is absolutely no reason why I would recommend this place.

Place was not clean, I ordered a mix of chicken and beef on rice. Tasted not bad but far from good, but portions were big. Was not going to leave one star but while I was eating I noticed the lady who made my food clean bits from the top of the containers and throwing them back into the sauce. Worst part was she wiped a piece of lettuce front he counter and picked it off the washcloth then throwing it back into the lettuce container, mind you my friend was eating the wrap at the time.
