Aboriginal Journeys Whale Watching & Grizzly Bear Tours

This tour is simply fantastic! Gary saved our Vancouver Island trip by allowing us to board his tour last minute, when our originally planned tour got cancelled.
He is very knowledgeable and great fun on board. We got to go out on a surprisingly sunny day. We were blessed to see porpoises, dolphins, sea lion and even two whales!

After we saw humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals and eagles on the tour, Gary gave us a tip on where to watch bears at dinner, which was a great finale for us. A day full of great sightings!

I have been on 2 tours now and both have been absolutely spectacular! You not only get what the nature gods give, you will be educated and entertained! I absolutely plan on going on more tours and you should too!

We had a fantastic afternoon on the water with Garry who was the best tour guide you could hope for. His decades of knowledge really come through on the tour, and his storytelling ability and sense of humour made the tour all the better.

We were lucky enough to see a large pod of orcas as well as multiple humpbacks but even if we hadn't been so lucky I'm sure I would have still enjoyed my time on the water.

I can't recommend this company highly enough. We have done a similar tour with a different provider before, but it did not compare to what we experienced today. Whenever I do this in future, or recommend it to others, it will be with Aboriginal Journeys.

Really enjoyed whale watch. Gorgeous day out on the water. Saw alot of humpback and a pod of orcas. Gary is very knowledgeable of the area, and respectful of nature. It was nice in a smaller group than a large group. Learnt alot more. Really nice lunch.

Thoroughly enjoyed our Wildlife Adventure with this tour company. Our host was knowledgeable, friendly and added an extra hour and a half on to our trip when orcas were spotted farther away. Boat was comfortable and covered. On our trip we saw a bear, a herd of white sided dolphins, seals, sea lions, 2 orcas, and several humpback whales. Money well spent.

Absolutely the best whale watching trip we have experienced. Garry the guide and owner’s knowledge was amazing. He found Humpback and Orca whales while other guides were having difficulty. He would figure what direction they were going and get ahead of them, turn off the engine and just watch. The one time the humpback whale came right under the boat. Another time, again he had turned off the engine and the orcas turned and came toward the boat. Just incredible.

This tour was one of the highlights of our 14 day trip trough West-Canada. Garry is a great guide, with a lot of experience and knowlegde about the surrounding waters. We booked a 3,5 hour whale & whildlife tour and saw some seals, eagles and dolphins. However, at the end of the tour he got a message some orca's and humpback whales were spotted 1 hour away from our path. He offered the possibility to extend the tour to a 5 hour one (with some small compensation for the extra fuel used) so we could have a chance to see a pod of orca's. He went out of his way to provide us the most beautiful views of those creatures. It is clear he really wants his customers to have the best experience. We ended up getting a 5,5 hour tour with beautiful shots of both orca's and whales. Of course, this was a one time thing because of the orca's that were spotted. It does show Garry is very passionate and wants his customers to have the best time! All in all, would certainly recommend!

We booked a private “memory lane” tour with Aboriginal Journeys and we were more than satisfied with our trip. Garry was professional, friendly, well experienced and felt like part of our group. He accommodated our requests unfailingly and helped make our day a memorable experience. Definitely two thumbs up!

Having an experienced and knowledgeable tour guide makes all the difference and Gary was such a guide. We saw Nature as you can experience it. Seal lions, eagle feeding frenzy, dolphins and Humpbacks. We almost got to see the elusive Orcas but ran short on our already extended trip! Highly recommended and will be returning again for sure with future guests to our place!
