Absolute Spa at Century-Plaza Hotel

I booked a massage (RMT) & a pedicure in August 2021, for my birthday, even took the day off of work to treat myself.first massage since COVID, so I wanted a more elevated experience!
The facilities were clean & the front desk staff was pleasant, but I got paired with a gentleman by the name, Greg, who I have never been with before or knew of my history. He didn't ask me any questions beforehand, or while he was doing my (deep-tissue) massage treatment did he ask how it was feeling.
At one point he was poking & prodding on my lower back/right side of my hip & it hurt. I assumed he was working something 'out' as I have been to RMT's before.
It wasn't until the very next morning, I woke up with really bad pain in the same spot, in my lower back/hip area. I waited a few days, because again I have experienced discomfort before after seeing a qualified RMT, but it didn't pass. & fast forward, it's been MONTHS & I am still in discomfort in that same one spot.
Please note that I have never been to a RMT to work on any certain area, I have ONLY gone for general 'maintenance' & overall health. I reached out to the to inform Absolute Spa & to also enquire about whether or not anyone else has complained about Greg's services, since it would be important that they know, but they (managers, Cassandra & Hanna) assured me no one has. I replied back with more information (as they requested) & then the communication dropped off, radio silence, with no follow up since, even though I suggested an actual follow-up call.

I would NOT recommend them, since they apparently don't care about post-service well-being of their clients (be it regulars or someone who hasn't been there before). I go to places because of their reputation & word of mouth. I will continue to go somewhere if MY expectations are met, or on the other hand will never go again because of a substandard experience, which was the case here. My rating (s) are based on my OVERALL experience, from initial booking, to customer service provided afterwards.

Had an RMT with Amir, and it was excellent. He asked lots of questions about preferred pressure and areas of concentration and he did exactly as described. Perfect balance of relaxation and relief. Floated out of the place.

Celebrated my best friends birthday here and it was absolutely amazing! Amin is the best RMT I have ever been to. I highly recommend him! His pressure was perfect and he really listens to what kind of massage you’re looking for. The facility was great. Steam room, lounge room, and pool. We were served a complimentary salad, chocolate covered strawberries, and a glass of champagne in their dining area. If you are looking for a nice day at a spa, this is the place. I will definitely be back again with my girls!

I never write reviews, but I had such an amazing experience here that I had to write one. It was my first time coming here for RMT under Krystal. Starting from the front desk Ashley, was very welcoming! My consultation with Krystal was thorough which I appreciated. She also asked how I am with pressure which is very important to me as I bruise very easily. Krystal explained everything in detail and I would love to book my next RMT under her again in the future. If you get a chance to come here I would highly recommend Krystal. Will definitely be coming back here:)

I really enjoyed my experience! I don’t enjoy overly fancy spa’s because I’ve found the other clients can be a little pretentious and I’m afraid of breaking something by accident. At the Century Plaza it’s an established salon with seasoned professionals and a well thought out layout, services and perks. Today I had my first spray tan ever and I was completely comfortable, the tan looks amazing (naturally I’m super pale), and I was provided with a complimentary light lunch which was delicious. I definitely want to try out more services here in the future.

Just finished an amazing RMT session with Amin and it was fantastic. Great pressure and knows what to work on for athletes. Would highly recommend his services. The spa was clean and well organized, the steam room has eucalyptus steam, has and the dining area provides a lovely salad once you are finished and Amin went above and beyond by getting me a glass of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberry because it is my birthday. Can't wait to come back again!

The stuff was very friendly and the interior is relaxing. But i came for the pedicure and the pedicure was very poor quality, for the price i paid unacceptably bad. Fir 3 times less price i get much better pedicure. Very poor selection of colors as well.
Do not recommend!

OK, saying a spa is not up to standards seems ridiculously snobby. It's good. It's clean. The staff was really good. It just wasn't a great.

Very relaxing experience. Loved the comfy robe I got and the chance to go for a eucalyptus steam and relax with my book and some tea before my treatment. A nice light lunch after as well. Highly recommended to treat yourself.

My daughter and I have a tradition of attending a spa on her birthday, Christmas Eve. This year we went to the Absolute Spa at the Century Plaza Hotel in Vancouver. Our spa experience was ok. The once white robes were grey and tired, there were light bulbs out in the ladies change room, the steam wasn’t working properly in the steam room and the eucalyptus spray was empty, the showers were luke warm on the hottest setting and the lunch after the treatment consisted of some tired bagged lettuce stuffed into a slice of rolled cucumber served in an empty room. However the massages were good so we overlooked the run down state of the facility. When we got home we realized we had left valuable jewelry in one of the robe pockets. We left the spa around 4pm and it was now closed for the day and Christmas so we went back just before opening on Boxing Day. We were greeted by a very unfriendly, unhelpful and frankly quit rude employee at the spa. She was annoyed that we were there and said all the robe pockets were checked before laundering and there was nothing turned in and nothing we or she could do to locate it. It was a large handful of jewelry so in no way could it have been overlooked but we were expected to just accept the fact that it was gone and go home. For staff at a spa to be stealing on Christmas shows it’s not just the facility that’s in need of improvements. Needless to say it was the ‘absolute’ worst birthday and Christmas ever! Be fairly warned, this is NOT a good place.

Way overpriced, moldy and unsanitary shower/steam room, outdated everything. Most of staffs are friendly but Im not really sure how they are still in business. Probably tourists

Never had a disappointing visit here. I love to go in early for a facial to enjoy the pool and steam room at the hotel. Verdi performed one of the best facials EVER along with scalp and hand massage while I soaked up a luxurious mask. The relaxation room is lovely and they offer a very nice salad with chicken which has been the same for about 20 years but seemed to have been updated recently. Feeling pampered.

Very pleasant experience. The massage was very good! We had a misunderstanding at the beginning, but thanks to Amanda at the front desk everything went smoothly, outstanding customer service from Amanda aswell as the rest of the staff was a big reason for our great experience. Thank you! Must try out this place!

The missus booked an RMT session for my birthday here. You get access to the spa, steam room, and relaxation room where you can have some drinks and do some reading. Amin, my RMT, was fantastic and he has the most genuine smile. They arranged a complementary salad, strochals, and champagne to help celebrate my big day. Top notch service in a wonderful environment.
