Absolute Spa at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

I had the best experience today at Absolute Spa at Fairmont Hotel Downtown Vancouver. I came from the U. S to visit my sister, and she took me to experience Absolute Spa "Urban Detox". The massage, facial, and mud wrap were absolutely amazing! The staff are astounding as well! Especially, Ava the manager. She went above and beyond to make sure everybody was satisfied. Nonetheless, it was the best spa experience ever. Thank you Absolute Spa!

Had an amazing experience today at Absolute Spa - Fairmont Hotel. My sister and I decided to pamper ourselves. Overall our experience is beyond wonderful: start from booking experience with Ava- very professional and accommodating to what the customer’s needs; get to the spa - the place is clean, beautiful, serene and peaceful. I like the idea of the steam room is for one person only, thank you! ; had RMT session with Tina - great massage therapist, she has the perfect pressure for me. Most importantly all the staff made me feel that today was my day to relax. I truly appreciate that!
PS: The high level of service here is consistent -“every customer is a VIP”

This is hands down the best spa I’ve ever been to. The staff is knowledgeable and professional, and the services are luxurious and effective. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a day of pampering, this is the place to go.

Absolute Spa is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and taken care of. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the treatments are customized to your specific needs. I will definitely be back!

I absolutely LOVED my RMT, her name is Tina! But the reason I didnt give 5 stars, is beacause I was stuck in traffic and was late 10 mins to my appointment and gave the spa a call and let them know that, I go there and they deducted the 10 mins off of my one hours for that! I think for the money and emergencies, they need to let RMT's be a bit more flexible! I was so unhappy that the receptionist wouldnt be even a bit easy on this!

They did the job, but you can get a much cheaper experience for the same quality. There’s a reason why they are not fully booked, and you can get an appointment literally the same day. Also, Cassandra, the receptionist, was passive aggressive ‍️

Great facility and massage. Convenient location for hotel guests. A bit of an issue with the receptionist, however the manager Justine went above and beyond to make things right for us. Will definitely be visiting again on our next trip to Vancouver.

1sr off, been to this spa least 5 times in last 7 years precovid. Have loved the gym, fitness room, steam shower before your RMT.
The RMT massangers had never been consistent. Here is why I am never going back there after today:
1. My husband booked the couple massage RMT via email. We never checked the website since we went there a few times before.we arrived at 10: 45am, the new staff there said there is no gym or pool because "we are a separate entity. Cannot use it unless you are hotel guests. " She also said out appt was 12pm as if I should not show up earlier to use the steam shower that I always used b4. I explained that we always did the gym and shower. She said, "I am only 2 to 3 weeks new, I will ask. Someone will bring the robe to you to the shower room. " Okay.done.then 3 ladies now at the counter, no one brought us our robe, i found it myself on a shelf with the slippers sitting on top of the robe. I am in my gym clothes now another lady repeated the same sentence. I had to explain that I have been here a few times before. Now this older lady said, "yes you are right but since covid, the hotel doesn't let out clients use the facilities anymore. " Well fair enough then please do not keep telling me you are a separate entity. You have always been a separate entity. All you had to do is train your staff properly and let them know to check if your guests are previous customers. If they were, let them know that this is the case right off the bet. Dun bring up this entity stuff. It is not even the reason why. The reason is the service was offered to spa clients but now they kept the facilities to hotel guests only. Easy as that. They sure made my husband and I felt stupid uncomfortable. How do you not realize that returning customers will be surprised and disappointed? "
2. The banana bread gone. Self-serve fridge is now marked staff only. (They used to serve yogurt as well.) Glasses left at front area and in the lounge unwashed. There were 3 of you to clean.
3. The last time we were there, the staff said my husband and I could use the big shower massage room together so we did. This time, when they offered the separate steam shower room, I asked if we could use the big room. She said never have I in how many years I worked here is that allowed. Wow.first of all, when your guests tell you sth happened before, it happened. This is a 400 dollars massage we are paying for plus tax and tips. We are not here for 30 mins 55 dollar massage on the street. Know me know my business. If some staff offered that to us in the past in error, well acknowledge that it was done perhaps in error and apologize for unable to allow us to do that. Nope.lady kept arguing that it would have never happened. Wow. I remained calm and civil. I wasn't looking to having to have an intimate time with my husband. I have a house to do that. It was a wondering if.so I said no worries, we can have separate shower. That is totally fine. Lady stopped and left. She remained smiling but her way to want to argue with me that never happened was unreal.
4. Massage was done by Greg and Tina and honestly, they were great. Right pressure, great attitude, and very considerate. If it wasn't them, this review would have been zero star if I could give.
5. Also the inexperienced staff who brought up that separate entity talk also gave us the form to fill but on a wrong page. When we came out and settled the bill, she gave no eye contact, not a single smile, acknowledgment despite being our receptionist when we came in. The check out lady was much nicer and probably would have made our visit a lot happier to start with.
To sum up, for 400 dollars for 2for 60 mins no extra amenities or great client service, I am going elsewhere. Thank you for the past few years of actually good service. Good luck to serving hotel guests and say bye to your returning customers. No one will come downtown just to receive service like you offered today unless you train your new staff properly and retrain your old staff about properly addressing returning clients concerns.

Always a pleasure visiting here for my RMT appointment. They have a seating area to relax in with tea and goodies available before and after your appointment. Staff are friendly.

Pretty disappointing. I was hoping to really treat myself with an expensive pedicure as I have been twice before, many years ago. What I got was a rushed service. There was no peaceful music playing in the spa at all. The temperature in there was incredibly warm so I was sweating the whole time. My pedicurist spent the whole time talking when I had honestly just wanted to go there to have a nice chat with my friend. I didn’t need her piping in all her opinions and telling unnecessary stories. The esthetician smacked me on the leg to make me raise my own foot in and out of the water each time. For $145 you’d think they would allow you to actually relax and lift your leg for you.

Used to be able to go to the pool and really enjoy the whole experience more but since “Covid” this is no longer acceptable. The most ridiculous rule.

Anyways you’re much better off spending half the money and going to a cheaper salon. Unfortunately this place is not what it used to be.

Pretty disappointed with the front desk staff. I tried to book online with an RMT for both my partner and I but we could not book the massage online. We ended up booking with front desk staff over the phone. We forgot to ensure that we would have RMTs as to cover some of the cost with our coverage, so quite the shock when we were not told our massages were infact not to be covered. It would have been best if the online booking worked and even better had the staff asked or informed us we were not having RMTs do the massage. The massage was good all the same. Just a communication break down.

My RMT, Krystal, was amazing. I left feeling more suppleness in my upper back and shoulders than I thought possible. The next day in my workout, I usually find it excruciating to bring my elbows together, but I was surprised to find myself doing it with ease. She also did an excellent job with checking in throughout the massage to see if the pressure was just right or too much. A very skilled practitioner.

However, the experience as a whole was average to below average from what I've come to expect when I see the word "Spa. " Now I admit to being spoiled by having experienced the Absolute Spa at Century Plaza hotel. The gorgeous washrooms with showers, toiletries, Eucalyptus steam room, the relaxing waiting area with soft music and magazines, the tea and water setup, I truly felt utterly spoiled. It was a rare treat, a mini vacation. I am sad that location no longer exists and kudos to those who created that atmosphere. Truly a spa experience unmatched, at least by anything I've experienced. It was a Wow. The experience at the Hotel Vancouver was not a Wow for me. Even a small touch, such as a water cooler or herbal tea could have lifted the experience from Everyday to Spa.

Calista gave me the best pedicure! I highly recommend this place as the customer service was 5 star as well!

Amazing treatments! Highly recommend the rose cocoon body wrap. The products are amazing and my skin is glowing. The head massage and cold eye treatment made the experience the very best. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing experience. So relaxing! The steam room before the massage was wonderful and the massage was perfect - great pressure and so so relaxing. Will be back for sure!

This is an updated post from 4 months ago. The spa manager, Cassandra, offered assistance and ensured that my daughter and I were able to have a redo at their YVR location. Both Zenny and Fatemah were amazing and performed an excellent manicure and pedicure. Definite 5 star on the second experience versus the original 2 star experience we had in August!
4 months ago post - Very disappointed considering how expensive it is here! Took my daughter for a mother daughter treat. 4 of her nails were smudged and had to be redone. Nail polish was old and clumpy. My nails started to chip paint after 1 day. Technicians were nice but did not provide foot massage which was part of the package and did not do a quality job!

My experience at Absolute Spa for my birthday was outstanding and relaxing. When I mentioned it was my first time there, the front staff gave me a tour of the facility and showed me where I can securely lock my belongings. I started with a eucalyptus steam, followed by a few minutes in their gorgeous, relaxing lounge, to then be met by my massage therapist who gave me a scalp to toe massage. I added on the brow tinting and after telling her what I was looking for (nothing too dark as I have a fair complexion), she left the dye on for the perfect amount of time. When I was leaving I booked my follow-up right away! Thank you to the great, professional, friendly front desk staff, and thank you to Catherine my massage therapist for making my birthday so much lovelier! See you all at my next appointment:)

Great experience for a manicure and pedicure. More pricey than other places, but that is to be expected for a hotel spa. My nails lasted longer than usual, and they even let us bring our own champagne (and supplied the glasses) so we could celebrate a special occasion.

Entirety underwhelming experience. With the spa moving to the prestigious Fairmont Vancouver I had high expectations, which were far from met. Had a pedicure and the staff forgot to use the paddle on one of my feet. The other foot looks barely touched. The 'relaxation lounge' had no water, some mystery tea in a jug (not labeled) and no snacks. When the pedicure was done, the lounge had no lights or music on even though the spa was still open for a couple if hours after my treatment. The staff were friendly (albeit undertrained) which is why I even considered a tip in this case. Spa was much better when it was at The Century. Won't be back.

After a Massage, facial and manicure I can sincerely say that I will not be returning to the absolute spa. The front Staff were great, very accommodating. However the first I saw when I was getting was an incredibly dirty bathroom these toilets had pink rings around the bowl and dust everywhere. My massage was probably the best part of my day with a fantastic employee. Where I had some problems was with my facial, the lady was very kind and polite and I trusted her upsell to a more expensive facial however after numerous promises that my skin would be smooth and clear after two days "guaranteed". It's been two days and I'm having one of the worst breakouts of my life. Although she was very kind I'm so disappointed as I trusted her expertise and experience.

As for the manicure it left alot to be desired, parts of my nails were missed and the room needed massive updates.

All and all the staff was lovely but the services and facilities need work.

I will recommend no star, Very poor service. Me and my daughter went for pedicure, it was surprise from my boss to us so he prepaid everything including tip.the girls literally rushed to finish THE JOB.did not put nail polish that was even paid already and cut my daughters skin. Will never go back

Fantastic gentlemen's facial with the best technique I've ever experienced anywhere in the world.

Amazing service! We loved Nina and my mom’s salon tech. Going back to change my nail colour though as I didn’t expect it to be yellow pink. It may be one of those colour change ones which is cute for the summer but I wanted a solid pink.

Anistasia was so lovely. She was professional and caring; I felt comfortable and pampered the whole time. Excellent experience!

The construction noise was non stop during my massage - I wasn’t warned about the construction before my appointment. Also, massage was mediocre.

Had a 90 minute massage with Maryjoy and it was HEAVEN. I book a lot of massages and this might be the best I’ve ever had. Highly highly recommend.

Very polite staff but the service was not that great, pedicure and manicure were not properly done and the gel nail paint chipped off the same day

I had wonderful relaxing time and highly recommend The Moor Detox with Kathy. She is so amazing and can’t wait to see her again next month.

Was booked for body scrub and body message and both were very poor. The scrub was basically spreading scrub in my body for less than 10 minutes then asking me to take a shower, when I asked for a shower cap so I don’t get my hair wet the technician said they didn’t have any! Then the message was very disappointing. I came with pain snd tension and left exactly the same way even through asked the technician to raise the pressure but it seemed that her way for giving a message is rubbing the skin softly to a point where I wasn’t feeling anything she was doing. Expensive and disappointing!

My favorite spa to go to when in Vancouver. I've been to every location. When I'm Downtown prefer the Fairmont location and when not the Riverock location.

The service is always fantastic and I've always had great treatments.

Had a massage and facial with Molly! She was absolutely amazing- went over everything she was applying/doing to me and addressed all my questions and concerns. She gave me great advice for my skin along with several recommendations. She went above and beyond and made the experience personal for myself! Will definitely be visiting her again!

5 star for the RMT!

I have been a regular customer with Tina for a while now. She's absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend her for RMTs.

The reason for the three star ratings is due to the front desk service. I believe they went through a management change and ever since that change, my experience has not been a good one. They have had to change my appointment multiple times despite me booking a month ahead. I wrote to them but got no response regarding my experience. In the end, I managed to get a comp mini mani that I was charged for because there was no communication. In addition, I have had trouble with my insurance claims because they were not sending me the right invoices. Overall, the ladies at the front desks are not competent and professional. I expect a little more from absolute spa group. I am hesitant in returning for treatment because of these experiences.

My husband and I had treatments booked and the day before I rolled my ankle and couldn't walk or have it touched at all. But when I called in not knowing if I should cancel our treatments, they helped me figure out a few new things I could do. Not only that, when we came in, they were so amazing and helpful and so kind. I felt treated like I was royalty and my girl Maria took such good care of me. I felt spoiled and we will definitely be back!

I'm a long-time customer and couldn't have been happier with the service. It feels like home, great customer service, cozy environment and you get great value for what you pay. The treatment for my hair (I usually get cut and blowdry) is both effective and soothing, comforting. So grateful I found this place!

Amazing water journey experience. The eucalyptus steam room was our favorite. We even took a brief nap on the beds they have around the corner. It was the perfect end to our trip.

This is my fav massage place of all time - and I live in Texas. I think about the best 90 min massage I've ever gotten from here. The prices were extremely affordable and the service was great! I can't wait till I come back!

Best Vancouver spa, nice peaceful break from world! Came here to get massage. Facilities are quite clean and modern looking. Also I really liked the after service lounge which had a nice comfy area to relax and re hydrate. They also have sensory deprivation float pods and rooms which I have yet to try. Great place to relax!

Great experience! They moved us a couple times when we got there which was annoying but eventually fell asleep with great foot massage!

Wanted to treat myself to a spa day while visiting Vancouver and decided to go full on at Absolute Spa with a 90 minute float, 60 minute massage and 60 minute infrared sauna session. What a fantastic day it was! Everyone there was so welcoming and friendly, and all of the facilities were great. It was my first time floating, and I loved the experience!
