Ages Three and Up

Very VERY GOOD business to deal with in recent years after moving out of Lougheed Mall, and has only been an upward trajectory ever since. However, this was not the case for me when I was dealing with them when the half of it was run by Spencer (of which I won't get into in this review). Now I almost go to them exclusively for all my one sixth mass produced needs. Although I don't shop here as often anymore due to allying interests in another subgenre within the genre of 1/6, this ship has been tightly run in recent years by Boris. When I do make a purchase, my questions and concerns are always answered in a professional manner in a timely fashion. The store also has some of the best rewards system I have ever seen that is quite unparalelled in this hobby. I am more than happy to continue to support this local business. A+ approval over here.

I've always had a great experience browsing and purchasing from Ages Three and Up whether it was in-store purchases, online order/local pickup, and pre-order pickup. Love the displays they have in store, which includes Transformers, figures, and Gundams, etc. The staff is really friendly and sometimes they see what you are purchasing and engage in discussions with you about it and it's great to see that they enjoy the hobby as much as we do.

Probably the coolest toy store in the lower mainland. They have a wide selection of all the collectibles under the sun and super knowledgeable staff members that can help you find (or discover) what you want!

Avoid online ordering!

Placed an order on 2 items alittle less than a year ago. 1 item in stock and 1 item Preordered for release in fall '22, later delayed to dec '22, '23. After months of asking for status updatea via email (email communications is VERY poor) I had to contact by phone as I was not getting any status updates. The person over the phone was helpful, but when asked about the preorder item I was told they dropped the supplier (where was my updates on this?) And if i wanted to cancel the order (the preorded item is readily now available locally at other better vendors) was told id have to pay a restock fee on an item that they cant even restock because they don't even have a supplier for? How does this make any sense? Very very poor customer service and i cant recommend this buisness from my personal experience. Do yourself a favor and maybe look elsewhere for some of your preorders.

Such a shame I really wantes to support them too.

Great in store and online experience. The staff in the store are very knowledgeable and the customer support are very accomodating. They have a great selection of product and they get their pre orders in before anyone else. They also put up pre orders shortly after they are announced so I am able to secure the product I want before it sells out. I recommend getting your Transformers from there because they usually have a good inventory online and in store. 5 out of 5!

Items can be purchased online & delivered or local pickup in store. Wide range of Transformers, official & third-party. Also carry 1/6 figures, action figures, trading cards, hobby paints, Gundam, etc. There's a reward program for future purchase discount. One of my 3rd-party Transformers was missing a part so they contacted the manufacturer & got it. Support the local shops.

I didn't appreciate that while in there, a couple staff were talking about inquiries previous customers had made. They were joking/criticizing their questions. It was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable hearing it. It made me uncomfortable about asking any questions.

On the other hand, on another visit when I had my young son with me, he was watching a few people play a Star Wars table top game and one of the players took the time to briefly explain the game and what he was doing. One of the people working then came by to entertain some of my son's questions and show him some of the Star Wars ships (game playing pieces) available. He was patient and answered my enthusiastic son, which I appreciated.

Their customer service is very good. Their selection is ample. And they have everything I require.

Probably the best selection of Hexa Gear model kits in B. C, pre-order for pick-up in store (or ship) as popular releases tend to sell out fast. The release schedule is 2~3m behind the Japanese one which is normal for Kotobukiya kits in North America.

10 months and several very patient inquiries later, and I still have not received my order.

I purchased several pre-order items in October 2021. All items were listed as expected for release in 2021 Q4 or 2022 Q1. By April 2022 I had heard nothing from the company regarding my order and reached out for an update. I was ignored.

I followed up a few days later, and finally received a response that one item expected in 2021 Q4 has still not arrived and was holding up my order.

I reached out again in June 2022 asking for an update, as I had seen the delayed item in question available elsewhere. I indicated that if they were unable to provide a timeline for delivery that I would like a refund on the delayed item and the remaining items to be shipped. I was again ignored.

I reached out, yet again, at the beginning of August 2022, requesting a response and refund of the delayed item or for the entire order. I also advised them that, as they were not responding to inquiries and I had been waiting for nearly 10 months for this order to be fulfilled, that if my inquiry continued to be ignored I would have no option but to reach out to my credit card issuer for a chargeback in 14 days.

Unfortunately, my inquiry continues to be ignored and I will be reaching out to my CC issuer in four days, as specified, to request a chargeback for this order.

I had never purchased from Ages Three and Up before, but decided to take a chance on supporting a small Canadian business during the pandemic. Unfortunately this has been a disappointing experience through and through, and I will only be purchasing from local businesses I trust to actually care about customer service.

Been a long time customer since it was located at Lougheed Mall. The staff members are knowledgeable with the products that they carry and are very friendly as well. Store is well organized and has ample space to get around.
Note that store is geared to customers that are willing to spend money on specialty items that they have ordered or will purchase from the store.

Great little store for your Transformers and modelling needs. If you're a semi-collector like me, it's a great place to find the Transformers that you're looking for. Parking is a little challenging due to the small mall parking lot and the ton of construction going on there.

I mainly order online from them as I am not located near the store. Having the option to preorder and pay once it is in stock is brilliant. Have only had one customers service interaction which was handled quickly, promptly and professionally. They have a variety of items, shipping costs are reasonable. Only thing that would be great is if the site updated in a quicker manner from once a payment has been sent to when it has been received (only for pre order items, in stock and paid is perfectly quick). Will continue my business with them so long as I want new toys!

Whoo boy absolute dream as a transformers fan! Picked up the 86 hotrod from here and was not disappointed! It's awesome to have a store to be able to get your bots from instead of hopping around town to find a place that's in stock. If your looking for new releases would recommend following them on Facebook cause they post whenever new stock comes in.

Great store. Always top of the line collectibles. I just got delivered these twins and they arrived very well packaged. They shipped the same day. Prices are very good compared to other stores. They even carry items that are sold out everywhere else.

I enjoy this place a lot. Lots of figures and the main place I go for them. Especially imports. Staff is knowledgeable too. If there's a figure I'm looking for, this is the first place I check.

Great collection all year round, and great newly released products. There’re so many different brands, genres and types of collectibles- from gundam, warhammer, to figurines, retro collectibles and table top games.

The workers know their way around the store, and are very helpful! I like to visit at least once a month just to catch new releases

Got gifted two gundams from here and went back and bought $100 worth of paints and a $70 airbrush beginner kit. Life got busy and a few weeks later I had some time to set up the airbrush kit to realize it leaks air like mad due to the kit being broken. Went to return it since it’s a brand new product that doesn’t work and after an emmense amount of fussing, received $3 worth of points on my account in replacement of a refund or store credit. Staff is nice and selection is awesome and I very much want to support hobby shops such as this one but this experience was very disappointing. I’ll be buying my things from Amazon now since I can get a better product for cheaper with one day free delivery and an actual return policy.

A3U is my go to for all things Transformers. I did order things from the US previously, but why did I really want to wait and pay for shipping. I can easily get to A3U and they can even do pre-orders without the worry of duty, shipping and more.

Agesthreeandup has been a fantastic business to deal with. They provide an amazing service for Canadians. There store front is one of the last brick and mortar collectors stores left out there. If you're in the Vancouver area its a must.

This is hands down one of the best hobby shops I've dealth with, from the first day I entered, the staff was welcoming, friendly and helped me pick up my first kit to get back into Gundam model kits.

Now years later I'm here almost every weekend purchasing new kits, supplies and even pokemon products, such as Funko POPs, TCG cards, and model kits.

Ages 3 and Up has helped me learn so much in the Gunpla community and pushed my skills further then I could have imagined, I cannot reccomened the store enough.

I have been a customer of theirs for many years. Buying Transformers and Hot Toys figures etc. Their customer service seems to have gone downhill the last little while. For trade-ins they don't seem to offer as much credit as their local competitor (Toy Traders) and they take forever to reply back to customer requests when it comes to online orders. I have made recent purchases where I had trade in credit and they keep sending me FULL invoices when items arrive and it does not show the correct invoice which should show the item balance minus my trade in credit. When I called in to complain, they just said if I have any future invoices where I used trade in credit and if the invoice is wrong to just let them know? Maybe their billing department need to get its act together and start sending customers the correct invoice with the credit applied?

A great collector & hobby shop! Always come here for Transformers and other figures, always so much to look at.

EDIT: With COVID making everything hard for people in general and small businesses in particular I'd like to update this. I don't have enough good things to say about the store and the staff. All stores have limits and restrictions right now and I can't say how many times I've seen staff step outside to allow just one more customer into the store to shop, despite the cold, rainy weather.

I've picked up a new hobby with the pandemic (Gundams) and Boris' and Lukas' knowledge and advice has helped me considerably. Their stock of kits, tools, and paints always leaves me with something new to try or do.

Always friendly and knowledgeable staff. Constantly getting in new and cool things. Trade ins are done super fast and with great value. Can't recommend them enough for both online and in store.

Ages Three and Up is my regular go-to place for 3rd-party Transformers. Can you get these cheaper on eBay? Sure, if you want to risk unknown overseas sellers. But if you'd rather support a Canadian business, like me, A3U is well worth it. Reliable, responsive service, with fast shipping, and items are always well-packed and arrive in perfect condition. Highly recommended.

I had an order with 3 preordered Studio Series Transformers (2 recently arrived, the other releases in August). I emailed you a couple days ago about shipping the first 2. Then today, within 3 hours: I received a response with an invoice linking for the extra shipping cost, you received the payment, and shipped them out. And to top it off, the tracking # provided is already updating.

I ordered online. All I can say is it was a fantastic experience. They had an out-of-production piece I had been looking for and fulfilled the order almost immediately. I got the package promptly, in pristine condition. I absolutely will make them my first stop for collectible purchases.
