Best Pizza in Vancouver, not close.

The dough on the New York pies is the perfect thickness and texture. The crust has just the right amount of crunch. Both red and white sauces are fantastic, perfect acidity and spice. The Queen Bee is a must try, but even a classic pepperoni will reset your standards going forward. Highest recommendation.

Found this joint randomly when my partner and I were looking for a good late night pizza by the slice.

They had 4 different options for us that evening. We had the Jersey (which is cheese on the bottom and sauce on top) and pepperoni. The pizza was really thin and crispy, super delicious, and a decent size. The Jersey was our favourite, we went back for seconds. We loved how the cheese was on the bottom so it couldn't just slide off the pizza when you're eating it, and the sauce was so well seasoned. Will definitely have to come back for more.

The best pizza you'll ever have. I've been ordering from them since 2020 and nothing comes close. Uncle Roni is my go to and worth the $

Cold stale cardboard that takes 2hours to deliver. Like paying someone $40 to eat their three day old pizza.

Decided to get a few slices passing by. The slices are HUGE and DELICOUS. We got the pepperoni ones and they were loaded and the sauce tasted amazing. It was some of the best pizza I’ve had would definitely go back.

Was thinking I was getting a deep dish pizza but basically got bread sticks cut like pizza with marinera sauce and pineapples and only 6 slices for 41$
Ridiculous! Who wants that thick of pizza crust for that price! Deep dish or Detroit style needs thinner crust and more meat/ topping to make that thickness!

I have visited this joint on a handful of occasions both takeout and dine in and always had a great experience. The staff is super friendly and are happy to suggest items or make adjustments. It is a small casual restaurant with an open kitchen and can be very busy but we never have had to wait too long for the food.

Pizza is consistently good. It is definitely for people that enjoy super saucey and cheesy pizza’s but it is not greasy imo.

Their vegetarian options are also great too goes beyond the basic margherita. Look forward to trying the detroit style pizza next time.

This place is good! They know whats up when it comes to pizza and offers one of the yummiest options in town. The New york sicilian is perfectly fluffy, the red top detroit is just totally decadent and they even serve the “Grimaldi magherita” which was my absolute favorite when I was living in Brooklyn. New York’s best. But not a fan of their pepperoni so had to remove a star.

To top it off, their garlic oil is pure magic.and these little cinnamon donut. Heavenly. Great service too, very friendly staff.
*Beware, they are victim of their own success and so, they get very very busy so plan accordingly.

*I removed one star because I am not a fan of their pepperoni, tastes a bit stale but might just be the spice blend?

My buddy said this was the best pizza in Vancouver, therefore I had to try.

I got the pepperoni and cheese slice

Pepperoni was a little salty but the slice didn't hold the toppings as it was falling apart but it was still good.

Cheese was probably the best one, sweet tomato sauce, good cheese with a herb oil on the crust. Kinda taste like garlic bread

Overall 7.2/10

Seen the Detroit pizza on Instagram and it looked pretty awesome so I made a trek out to this joint.in terms of pizza it was just ok. It’s mostly dough not a huge amount of filling, lots of cheese on the crust nothing crazy on the top (got the pepperoni version). Pizza was pretty salty but I think that is pretty standard for this style of pizza. Overall decent but it’s not something I would crave or make a special trip to go back for. We came in to order a pizza and the girl in the front told us to go to the other pizza place next door because it was cheaper as she said, very bad customer service not coming back. This was at 6pm sep12

We were there on Aug - 25th 2022 place was kind off empty— we waited almost an hour to get one pizza, I really get puzzle when restaurants take that long to serve someone with lots of staff and not a lot of customers they have not a clue on how to be efficient on delivery food on a prompt manner —- that was one thing the other thing was the pizza after one hour of wait we got a terrible thick crust pizza that was burned, making it super hard to properly eat what a disaster —-

Yum yum yum. We had the thick Detroit red top and The Goldie, incredible sauce base and ingredients for both. The Goldie was a banger though and didn’t expect it. Detroit red top not my personal style as it is quite bread-y, but A1 for a carb lover.

The pizza here is only surpassed by the outstanding service and positive attitude the staff provides. The pizza is off the charts delicious. From thick to thin and we mean thick this is truly one of kind in Vancouver and worth the trip. We come from Surrey to enjoy this bit of heaven. Thanks to Caroline for making our Saturday dinner out amazing.

Went July 23,2022. Poor service. No red tops, understandable it was sold out. Ordered two 14" pizzas. Rebueced 18, charged us for 18. Did not want to change the price for what we had ordered. Stated that there was nothing they could do. 2 second pizza came 30 mins after the first after half the party had finshed their meal.

I never had a business charge me for something that I did not order.

Had liked the join previously. However this has soured my experience. Mostly likely will go to another pizza joint.

Such amazing pizza and service! My daughter doesn’t like pizza and they were all out of meatballs, so they custom made a deconstructed sandwich which was phenomenal. And of course, the pizza’s were fantastic. Great pizza! Great service! Perfect place to eat. Thank you so much for the amazing experience!

I would love to leave a review of the pie yet my dilemma is ordering.
I gave up all my credit cards in 2010 and happier for it. Until now.
What happened to delivery of greatness fell with covid. The delivery companies came and failed to involve debit or cash.

So now I sit for the 8th time without delivery as non so far even use debit. Please inform if is has changed.

Been to Brooklyn a couple of times but the pizza slice definitely is different there. It was missing the cheese & the slice was over cooked: (Recommendation: I would try another pizza place before coming back here.

Wait times are rediculous and you can't even get a pizza on time when you order 1.5 hours in advance.

I've been a customer for a few years. Great, albeit expensive, pies. I normally pay $33 for a large pizza and do half and half of two different styles (usually one half just being a classic margherita). The ownership has now implemented an additional $3 fee if you do half and half. I'm not paying near $40 for a pizza. The surcharge is also totally nonsensical if you're getting one half that's much cheaper than the other already. I'll be taking my business elsewhere unless they change this new fee. Too bad - I've ordered over 50 pizzas from them. Will try Via Tevere instead.

I ordered the deep dish with pepperoni, but ended up eating a deep dish with no pepperoni. So that was disappointing. Either way, while this is tasty pizza, it doesn't compare to what you'd find in Chicago.

Polite staff, pizzas look and smell great, didn't get to try however as our order was 45min late for pick up - we waited 25min only to be told it would be another 20min. We cancelled our order.
I'll try it again sometime.

They got the crust game on lockdown. Both thin crust, thick have amazing crust, and their deep dish is cheese crust. An easy must have.

The best pizza I have had in Vancouver.
The service was excellent.
I look forward to enjoying this pizza again.

Came in with my nephews for a sit down meal.
Ordered a half and half 18" new york style pizza which was amazing. Thin crust as it should be. Shared it among 4 of us and we were very satisfied.
Very friendly and attentive service despite how busy the place was and the amount of takeout flying through the door!
Hot pizza and cold beer, how can you go wrong?

I like pizza but I can’t say it’s my favourite food, however I’m obsessed with this pizza place. We always get the John’s pepperoni (Brooklyn style) with the sides of Mike’s Hot Honey. It’s divine. You know it’s good when the place is always packed every time we go. Pro tip: order the pizza well in advance. It can take a few hours before it’s ready but I promise it’s worth it!

It's hard to properly rate AJ's, because it was one of the first pizza places I tried after moving here from Philadelphia. I don't think anything will quite compare to pizza back home. It is, however, reminiscent of East Coast pizza. Not quite a NYC slice, but pretty good! We had takeout, as the place was packed. There was a pretty limited selection of slices, but I wound up trying the mushroom and artichoke and the cheese (I found out that you can't say "plain" here). Both were tasty enough, but the hot honey that came with them was so good! Really added something cool. The host who took our order was really nice, considering we seemed like naive Americans in ordering haha. I'd go again, but since it isn't nearby our neighborhood, I wouldn't go out of my way.

I got a Detroit style pizza and the pictures on social media completely reject the product. Keep in mind, it's a LOT. I expected to eat three of the six pieces in one night and I could barely get through two. The great news: it re-heats beautifully in the oven the next day. I don't recall the name but I got the one with the sausage, ricotta and basil on it. Super delicious!

Cane here on our anniversary with me and my wife, and ordered a delicious Detroit Pizza with a bottle of red. The place accepts bc vaccination card which I approve for both our safety and piece of mind. 5 stars

Ordered a Tropical Reeves for delivery. Wasn't sure what to expect as I was so hyped on ordering a meal from these folks, going by reviews. Unfortunately, it was overcooked, not so tasteful & did not deliver nicely. Maybe will try again with in-house services. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance!

BEWARE! Worst pizza in the city so far. It’s basically a loaf of bread covered in low quality pizza sauce. $40? !? Honestly I’d rather order from dominos. Very very disappointed.

Very rarely will I not like a pizza but this place is ridiculous. Do not waste your money here. This isn’t dinner it’s extortion.

I was at the restaurant for my order and they said it will take 10 minutes to prepare even it was done 30 minutes earlier, after reAching there they told me it will take more time and waited for almost 30 more minutes and their staff member was so rude and stared at me aggressively and said sorry its all what he can do

I was disappointed when the pizza arrived at my door. I was so excited to try AJ's for the first time. I ordered the 18" "Uncle Roni's Pepperoni Pie. " The website describes the pizza as, "Pepperoni Pie loaded with Roni cups! "

I guess I must have a different definition of "LOADED. " At best, the pizza was slightly peppered with approx, 8 "Roni cups" per slice. My definition of LOADED, is seeing more "Roni cups" than cheese, on the surface of the pizza.

I was going to order the "John's Pepperoni Pie, " but the "Uncle Roni's Pepperoni Pie, " mentioned it being loaded, where the John's didn't, so that's why I ordered it.

It tasted fine. It was alright. I didn't find anything special about it. Definitely not worth the price. It might have been worth the price, if it had actually been "LOADED"

Not sure why I anticipated that it would be loaded. It seems to be the norm these days. If McD's shows photos of their products, that aren't an actual depiction of what the final product looks like, why should anyone expect, literature describing a product, to be any different.

Taste is fine. Nothing special. Just another overpriced, over hyped pizzeria. Vancouver is loaded with these establishments. Toss a coin up in the air, it's bound to land on one of them.

Honest to God the best pizza I've ever had- and I've been to New York too! My boyfriend and I loved it so much the first time, we had to bring our 4 friends too. However it was so busy that we ended up having to waiting almost 2 hrs before we could get seated. Our friends were confident that there was NO WAY a pizza could be worth a 2hr wait.well they were proved wrong! Everyone ended up agreeing it was 100% the best pizza ever, and we will Def be back soon.

Amazing pizza! So flavourful. Glad I got to try this before I leave the province! Highly recommend. If you’re picking up on a weekend, I highly recommend placing your order at least 3 hours in advance. We tried to order one Sunday and it was a 3 hour wait. So today I called it in early. Worth the wait regardless:)

Called to order a pizza at 3: 30pm and was told there are no preorder spots available until 6: 30pm. As I see from previous comments, they basically refuse your service for small orders. I’ve never called a pizza place and had service denied, won’t order again.

Sure would like to eat here some day.tried to order 2 separate occasions just for myself and my wife an extra large pizza. 2 hour wait times for one pie, less of a wait if you order more. I'm sure it's good, but they basically refuse you service if you don't order enough food.straight outta Brooklyn will be getting our business instead, and maybe I'll buy 2 pies from them

The best pizza in town. Cannot wait to try more of the menu. Excellent vegetarian options too. Make sure you order ahead because they're busy (as they should be) and generally can't do last minute takeout orders. Can't speak highly enough of this place!
