Ajuker Fried Chicken

I ordered delivery and packaging wasn't done properly when it landed (Packaging was half open and food was exposed). Chicken tasted very old. Some pieces were so bad I almost threw up after biting on them. I only had few and threw rest of them away.

Decent Korean joint that closes pretty late. The chicken here was pretty good! It was piping hot and crispy.

Great place to hang out and drink with friends…Gangnam Style.

The girls serving us were friendly and accommodating.

Probably the best Fried Chicken I've ever had. I'll do the 1 hour travel any day for their food.

Fried chicken wasnt fresh (On the dry side). Expected chicken would be their best dish as chicken was part of their name.

Seafood pancake was pretty good, white raddish had a weird taste, the soup was really good - also came with a rice in claypot bowl.

Very good food, reasonably priced.
Ambiance is a bit dated but doesn't detract from the food and service.
Huge plus that they are open late!

Atmosphere was 1/5. Wasn’t a fan of the loud hard core rap, not relaxing when eating. And food was 2/5. Way better Korean food elsewhere in my opinion. Staff was nice though.

Love this friendly family run korean restaurant. My sister's family and I love ordering food from here. Always wonderful service and a better bang for your money. Especially with lots of korean restaurants around their location.

Omg, I love Korean food, but the bibimbap I had today was so bad, the taste was even worse then a bento you can buy from a convenience store, I am so surprised that this the bibimbap I had for lunch was made by a Korean Restaurant, it was a total disappointment.

Just had my family I pre father's day dinner and this is bad customer service i have experienced. Waitresse rude when my wife was trying to correct one of our order. Another server showed up and just rudely sliding our bowl appetizer and these 2 guys looked like just came from the diswashing area. I will never come back to this place anymore.

This is one of my favorite Korean fried chicken places. Their breading is very crispy and stays crunchy even when covered in the sauces. Seafood pancake is also good. It could be more crispy but overall it's very good and the ingredients are fresh. The squid isn't overly chewy and the flavour is great.

Not sure how this place has any decent reviews? Honestly was horrible and a huge let down. Considering the other options out there, do not waste your time with this place

Good price. But the fried chickens are very grease and soggy. The oil temperature seems to be wrong as the fries got absorbed all the oil. Also the fried chicken only has legs. They need to work on fries skill.

How the chicken is prepared is pretty bad, but in terms flavor no doubt the most authentic korean chicken experience you can find in vancouver

My go to late night Korean fried chicken place! I live dangerously close - visiting Ajuker at least once every two weeks. I always get a boneless half soy and half sweet&spicy with stone pot bimbimap and love how they can be eaten together. I tried the army soup this time as well, no my favourite but will be coming back to try another dish ️

Their pork bone soup is good, and $2 off from 11-8pm.which is pretty much all day. The boss mentioned that 3x, it must be a good deal.

Just moved to the neighborhood and have wanted to try this place since the move.it was sooo good! Ordered online for pick up and it was quite fast, plus you get a discount! Tried the Chicken Combo C and the glass noodles, both were delicious! And the service was fast and friendly! This will be our go to place for amazing fried chicken and excited to try new dishes on the menu!

My boyfriend and I ordered from this place late last night we got the half sweet spicy and half soy sauce boneless chicken oh my god. THE BEST KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN (fried chicken in general) that we have ever tried it was fresh crunchy and a big portion and not over priced for the amount they gave us highly recommend!

O. G. Korean fried chicken + honey mustard is classically one of my favourites.

1-2 bowls of white rice depending on your health goals add some ramen and share with your favourite people around.

Seriously try there’s fresh cooked delicious delicacies. That restaurant does it right.

If it’s not too much trouble, mention “T” sent you and don’t forget to try their refillable awesome Korean favorite side dishes.

Hit and miss for some people. But I think this place always is very delicious whenever I have a craving to get fried chicken.

One of the best legit Korean fried chicken in the city. Overall great night time ambience & delicious comfort foods in the city of Burnaby and lower-mainland.

The staff is very friendly and actually care that you are fed and properly hydrated with refreshing import/export beverages.

Chicken was really tasty! It's big chunks of chicken with a lighter, thinner batter than some other KFC places which is nice. Just wish the spicy was more spicy generous portion with the half and half combo. We were stuffed. Mr. Taesun, you were so nice when you helped us with our order! Thank you!

A former acquaintance of mine who dabbles in archaeology had just returned from Egypt. He had found some strange bauble in a geological stratum while working in the valley of the kings. While I had strong ethical objections to him taking such a relic with him, he seemed obsessed.maybe panicked. Nevertheless he sought me out for help. It seemed this lightly carved stone baring a resemblance to an old god gave off a strong magnetic field. We immediately took it to my basement lab where I confirmed that the divergent magnetic field was not constant: it was indeed periodic. I removed Kelloggs flea collar in fear this would induce a current that may burn him, though I may have over reacted.

At this point we were getting very hungry after all the excitement. After deliberation we landed on Ajuker chicken, since they sell boneless chicken and we just wanted something easy to consume. While usually spices and flavors are usually a friendly argument, they offer half and half boneless chicken orders. We were able to get spicy, regular and soy in one simple order. The chicken was wonderful, and the service could not have been better. I recommend this establishment to all locals, whether SFU students, professionals, or just hungry folk.

Family style Korean restaurant located at North Road, Burnaby. No special Korean decorations inside but the food is better than expected. The fried chicken original is very juicy inside and the portions are big. Seafood tofu soup comes with bowl of rice presented in an traditional Korean setting, right amount of spicy and taste is good too. Definitely recommend to try:)

Second review. Had fried chicken multiple times, please refrain from giving negative reviews. There is no better place here in this expensive city, we tried many places, just does not match. This place is right priced, the guys there are genuine. Please let them stay alive in this difficult time.

This used to be my favorite restaurant and I used to order from them regularly. But after their "renovation", they REDUCED PORTION, INCREASED PRICING and most importantly, the chicken is not good as it was before

If the owner is seeing this, "AT LEAST INCREASE THE PORTION IF YOU ARE RIPPING US OFF WITH THE PRICE TAG"

Do NOT eat Korean marinated chicken
(양념치킨). Its not spicy at all plus sauce is too cold. It's pre cooked!

The restaurant itself is okay. The food was a little bit cold when I got it. I ordered the sweet and extra spicy chicken. The sauce for the food is not very nice looking. It actually looked like the sauce was sitting on the chicken and hardened up. Generally the restaurant is loud. They have tacky lighting with laser lights and bad sounding speakers. Although our party was fairly big which maybe have made it complicated for them, the people made a mistake with my order twice before handing it over to me correctly.

The original fried chicken here is amazing, never too much batter and always super crispy! We regularly went when they had their old location on North Rd before they moved into the plaza further down. At their new location they have much more space, and it's brighter! 10/10 would recommend if you're looking for a fried chicken spot.

Chicken was crispy and tasted ok, but not great. The extra spicy chicken was very mild. I would recommend going to one of the many others Korean restaurants in the area for fried chicken.

Over priced and tasteless. I ordered the classic Korean fried chicken. It was 75% fried batter and skin, 20% sauce, 5% meat. The chicken was heavily sauced with some gross brown gunk. Just sweet and mildly spicy with no real distinct flavours except cloves. I don't even know what I was eating. Don't waste your money here. There may be some Koreans frying chicken in the kitchen, but this is the farthest representation of what "Korean fried chicken" is supposed to be.

Ordered Ajuker takeout through skip the dishes. Chicken was a bit cold but still very crispy upon delivery! Loved the sweet dog fried boneless chicken, it was so flavourful! It was the definitely the favourite of the night. Really enjoyed both rice dishes we ordered - kimchee fried rice and bibimbap. Will definitely order again. It also came with pickled daikon on the side! Good portion size.

This place was great! Huge portions of delicious fried chicken at a reasonable price. I also had the spicy chicken hot pot. All of their "spicy" menu items are quite mild, so if you really want some kick, you have to really emphasize it to the hosts.

Multiple issues
- Poor chicken quality: Too much breading, not enough meat
- Poor service: Had to ask multiple times for basic items such as water, banchan, plates
- Poor menu: Didn't mention a minimum service charge and what menu items provides banchan or rice.

The chicken was suppose to be their main dish but it was terrible.the batter was so thick, once you peel the batter off there were no meat on the chicken.
Also, they just reheated previously made chicken and gave it to me. I wasn't happy at all and when I talked to the server, they gave me same dish but still wasn't the greatest. If you have a choice go somewhere else.

Went here with my son at about 7: 30 on a Friday night. The restraint was fairly busy. We sat down at one at the booths. The cushions were very comfortable and bedded our bottoms quite nicely. The tables were clean and looked like they had been cleaned recently. We sat and decided what we were going to order for a couple of minute and we decided on the 1/2 Fried chicken 1/2 Soy chicken. We also ordered the kimchi pancake. The food came really fast. It came in only about 5 minutes. When it came, the waiter laid it on our table and we dug in! The chicken was nice and crispy. The flavor on the soy chicken was salty and a little sweet. The stickiness made it very nice. The fried chicken was very good also. The crisp made my mouth water when I bit into it. The temperature on the chicken was nice and hot but not too hot that it would burn your tongue and it would hurt for a couple of days. That would be a bummer. Me and my son found out that there was a shaker of pepper salt on the table. We figured that it would make the chicken taste better. And it did. It gave a even more saltier taste and a Little peppery taste. Now time to review that kimchi pancake. The kimchi pancake came to the table about 5 minute after the chicken did. The pancake was on a steaming hot dish that would give you 3rd degreee burns to the touch. We took our first bite and it tasted like squid but not as much kimchi as we thought it would. This was a little disappointing but it still tasted good. We figured that if you dip the pancake in the soy sauce sesame mixture that they had supplied us with, it would make it taste better. And it did. It gave a nice saucy salty flavor with a little sesame oil flavor.me and my son figured that if we put the chicken on the hot dish that the pancake was on, it would make the chicken much crispier. And it did. The service was good. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. When we were done, the got the leftovers in a box to take home. We went to play the bill, and noticed there was candy. Service is almost non-existent. We had to ask for everything - plates, bowls, eating utensils, sauce for the seafood pancake, side dishes refill (and that also never came).

Got mixed messages about side dishes.one server said since we didn’t order a meal we wouldn’t get any. Then afterwards another server randomly came with side dishes.

The chicken also has a lot of breading on it. Best to save your money and go elsewhere.

Its a relatively clean, spacious establishment that has ample parking around the area (in one of those "complexes") and the menu has a decent variety of food, aside from just fried chicken.
They also serve liquor (beer and soju), because we all know Korean fried chicken and beer go hand-in-hand. The beer is the "typical variety" of asian and domestic; none of that fancy craft stuff here, but at least you can get pitchers of beer. I didn't look at the soju section of the menu enough to tell you what's up, since I just wanted a beer, so I can't quote on that, my bad.
My OCD senses were tingling from the booth seating, which felt "a bit off" in terms of spinal column, fore-aft positional camber. These seats force you to sit upright/straight; I suppose it promotes good posture lol.
They also have those handy "summoning buttons" making it simple to hail servers, who tend to you with relative haste, so that button isn't a redundancy.
We ultimately ordered the boneless fried chicken combo because I wanted to feel high-class and eat fried chicken with chopsticks rather than sully my hands like a pleb. Your order will come with a complementary thing of pickled radish.
I personally had better, but that's me being critical. If you're interested in my opinion, I think the meat/batter ratio could use some fine-tuning. Maybe we didn't get lucky on this batch. The price for what you get is just okay.

Bad service as they are extremely understaffed. Our waiter forgot our order so he returned and confirmed it with us. I also confirmed it with another waiter after we had been waiting 15minutes with no food. However after 30mins we were still waiting for our last dish to arrive. They said the order was not placed and apologized. The waiters were too busy to check on us or notice that our table was just waiting for food.
The food itself was ok. We ordered half boneless soy chicken and half boneless sweet and spicy. The chicken is nicely fried but there is not enough sauce on the chicken. It is so very expensive for the portion. Nothing memorable or positive about this place. I would not recommend it.
