First, I want to say that it’s rare for me to do a review of services provided, but I felt the satisfaction we felt in dealing with Christopher at Alair Homes warranted a few comments.
Christopher and his crew did a complete refurbish of the common areas of our condo building. We chose Christopher after several interviews with four contractors. As VP of our strata council and lead on our maintenance committee, I had a considerable amount of input to our choice of people to do the job. One of my personal reasons for our choice was Christopher’s attention to detail evident from our very first meeting with him.
He took the time to listen to our wishes and explain in detail the process, from the original discussions on quoting the work, through to our final walk through and sign off on the job. His very detailed breakdown on costing, before the job started, gave me a sense of ease that all was in order.
He also took the time to introduce each of his sub-contractors to us prior to the beginning of the job. While David did an excellent job managing the project, there were very few days that Christopher was not on site himself for all or part of the day.
One of the challenges in working in an environment of multiple owners, is communication so owners feel comfortable with the process throughout the job. Christopher and his crew did a great job of this, both talking directly to owners with questions they had, as well as posting a weekly “what to expect” in our common areas.
Perhaps one of the true proofs in Christopher’s work was that three of our owners, during the time of our project, enlisted he and his people to do a project within their own suite.
The job was complete on time and within budget.
Personally, I would hire this crew without hesitation at any time.

Alair’s Christopher Stiles and his team renovated the common spaces — lobbies, corridors, amenities and guest rooms — in the two 3-story buildings of President’s Court/White Rock in spring-summer 2023.
The contract was awarded following a rigorous selection process in which Christopher’s proposals stood out for their combination of quality and value and for his commitment to close hands-on collaboration with the client throughout the project.
Christopher dedicated several hours to preliminary budget and scope-of work discussions with our strata executive and Council, arranged site meetings with all prospective suppliers and subcontractors, and played a critical role in securing project approval and key design decisions through a series of presentations and Q&A sessions with our 26 resident-owners.
Once underway, all aspects of the project unfolded in smooth and timely fashion. Christopher and his foreman assured constant on-the-spot oversight, sequenced the work to ensure minimum resident inconvenience, and provided regular on-site progress-and-planning reports to all owners.
In managing his team, and playing his own extensive role in many aspects of the work, Christopher demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and commitment to the highest standards of quality. He ensured all questions were answered and issues addressed quickly and to the client’s satisfaction, and exhibited flexibility and initiative incorporating a number of enhancements to the original plans.
With the completion of this project, our Council’s expectations have been more than met, our 26 resident-owners are very happy with their newly renovated common spaces, and we would have no hesitation in undertaking future work with Christopher Stiles — indeed some of our residents have already done so with projects in their personal suites.

We hired Alair Homes WR to do an extensive renovation on our condo: squaring drywall corners and other drywall repairs, paint, new trim, new floors, electrical and plumbing, plus some structural changes to walls and entryways.
Every trade involved was professional, on time, courteous, creative, accommodating and did great finished work. The price was reasonable for the quality of work provided. I would recommend Chris and his team at Alair any day of the week.

Christopher and all his crew did an excellent job on a challenging (steel & concrete bldg.) renovation on the interior of our condo. All work was performed by professional trades. The job sites (2) were masked off and cleaned up every day. Christopher had the tradesmen inspect the job site before presenting his very detailed quotation. All costs were known before work began. We are very pleased with the quality of work done, and finished on time!

Christopher and his team completed 2 major renovations on our home in that last couple of years. The first phase was an interior renovation that includes a complete redo of two bathrooms, custom office design and all exterior windows and doors. This transformed our old early 80's home into a stunning modern open concept timeless design.
The second stage consisted of Christiopher designing our outdoor recreation space as well as our downstairs guest bathroom, and fireplace feature wall. Our brand-new spacious wrap around deck allows us to enjoy our back yard, significantly extends our living space, and will allow us to entertain friends and family all year round.
Christophers ability for helping us with our budget and bringing lots of cost saving ideas truly appreciated. I highly recommend Christopher and his team!

I've worked with Chris as a subcontractor at Alair Homes over the last few years and found his connection and communication with his clients to exceed over most of other contractors I've worked with. Chris also has the eye for design making clients projects much more streamlined. Chris is also present for the clients and doesn't disappear leaving the client and sub contractors frustrated when questions and decisions need to be resolved. As a sub contractor I appreciate who he carefully selects on a job site, because he recognizes communication and respect for the home, the clients and other trades is paramount and makes for a succesful and happy working relationship for everyone involved.

We always have an amazing experience working with Chris and providing his As Builts for design and construction. We've had the opportunity to see some of their recent projects in person and their work is truly astounding. Client care is top of mind when it comes to Chris and how he manages the design experience for renovations and custom homes. You won't be disappointed. We wouldn't hesitate to work with him again!

Recently, I had a 3 1/2 month renovation completed on my rancher which entailed moving out and removing all of my furniture, stripping out hardwood flooring, tiling and carpeting as well as decommissioning existing plumbing. The plan was to instal a new high tech radiant heating system, new hardwood and tiles throughout, new domestic hot water boiler, remodel of our existing en suite bathroom and fully upgrade all insulation.
This was quite a daunting project which we had talked about for a couple of years and which created a lot of stress during the lead up to the start.
Christopher Stiles and Alair Homes White Rock were recommended as project managers by the manufacturer of our planned new heating system and I’m delighted to say, Christopher exceeded all of our expectations. He prepared an extremely detailed budget along with a complete design review of all of our “wants and needs” and offered many useful suggestions along the way. One of which was a complete review of our en suite bathroom to accommodate “aging in place” details such as a wider entrance, walk in shower with easy clean glass and relocating the toilet as well as integral shower seat and several grab bars. His design ideas far exceeded mine every time.
My wife and I felt at all times that Christopher was on our side whenever issues arose and was fully cognizant of our budget and schedule for completion. We received detailed updates every week and subsequently had very few surprises. I have no reservations in recommending Christopher and Alair Homes White Rock with any construction projects and I would certainly engage them again.
