Ordered for take away. Left more than 60$ for two dishes and the portion of food, especially meat was the smallest I ever had. You expect a meal size not a lunch size if it’s a main course. Also there is more bones and chunks than meat. The few pieces of meat were not cooked well and very hard to eat. They should improve quality of food as overall taste was good and all these seasoning and spices but literally I was feeling that I am eating garbage meat and byproducts not a quality ingredients. The egushi soup was really small and there were more bones than meat. The liver and stomachs were very chewy and not well cooked.

Egusi and poundo Yam tasted excellent, but the Egusi portion is incredibly small with a high price tag

Joloff Rice was also too pricey for what you’re receiving, it’s spiced rice and two small chunks of meat.it needed more of a kick I think.

Overall, Nigerian food is delicious and it’s quite rare

I would give 0 star if there was an option for that. Ordered food for the first time there, the puff puff was trash (overly oily) was not cooked inside. Then the soup; first they advertised as banga and starch when they knew they didn’t have starch then called to ask if I wanted to switch that to poundo. I said ok. Went to pick the food up the banga soup and catfish that I ordered they only put head of catfish. Very disappointing and won’t be ordering from this place again.

Usually I don’t like giving bad reviews…but this one needs to be addressed. In my opinion, this is the Worst restaurant ever.everything taste awful.no salt no pepper no seasoning at all tasted sooooo bland I ordered twice two different items both awful what a waste of money
I do not recommend this restaurant.

I think this restaurant is a good place to dine in. I had jollof rice and I thought it was good and the service was good too

I went there in January and ordered vegetable soup, egusi soup and pounded yam. The vegetable soup is really nice and tasty. The egusi soup is not nice.

I also placed take out order of fried rice, chicken, moimoi, plantain and salad. The owner did not include the moi moi in the take out order. The fried rice and chicken was tasteless and not nice. I won't recommend this place.

Tried the egusi soup, more of a stew, (extra spicy). Really outstanding. Was the highlight of my day. My wife had the jellof with plantain. Very good too. Will be back for sure.

This is the second time I get a meal from the restaurant and it tasted awful. I got egusi and pounded yam and it tasted bland with just plenty of oil. I'm certainly not going back

All the food is well made great customer service and their atmosphere of the restaurant is very uplifting

It's a good place to get all kind of soups. Not everyone eats crabs, it should be cooked separately. Also please improve more on your jollof rice.

Highly recommend the Palm Drink which is reminiscent in taste of a fusion between a cider and rice wine for flavor profile. I also had the fried tilapia with Jaloff rice and coleslaw. It was all good and fun to eat. It's neat because they serve Nigerian foods that are not easily found elsewhere in Canada and it's fun to try foods you've never had or seen before.

Honestly, it hurts to give a fellow Nigerian a bad review, but the food I got was just not even close to good enough. The moi-moi and suya in particular were just embarrassing. Very disappointing, especially because of how excited I was when I saw the menu. Customer service is great though.

Horrible. Literally they took so long. I pre ordered my food and they couldn’t even finish making it. This was the worst place I ever bought from. What’s more embarrassing is that there’s another African restaurant two shop down from them and they’re rated 4 star. Let me tell you they’re sooo much better, they just sometimes run out of specific foods which is why I tried this alebi place. But never again… I’m missing half my order despite the fact that I already paid and I ordered Egusi stew with beef & chicken… they ended up giving me fish. Like seriously? & also get the plantain elsewhere because the plantain they serve here is trash.

I've ate here many times and i always enjoyed it, today though I got some beans with fried plantains.
It was next level. Delicious

Food was delicious, service was very friendly. I had never had West African food before, but I'll definitely seek it out in the future and come back to Alebi whenever I'm in the area. Thank you for the beautiful meal!

Absolutely delicious food and amazing service. Will definitely be coming back soon. The owner is very kind, welcoming and friendly. I brought my parents here (who are huge foodies), and they were so impressed with the flavor and spices used in the dishes we ordered. I'm so glad I discovered this restaurant, and I will reccomend it to all my friends and family looking for traditional and authentic African cuisine!

I went here with some friends. We had a great time. We ordered a range of foods, with the help of the staff there. The food was delicious, especially the puff-puff appetizers! Honestly, they seem like nice people. Come and support them!

5 stars for the exceptional service. Our server gave us great recommendations and explained dishes thoroughly. Taste was great. Prices were very fair. Only took off a star because the chicken seemed to be old. Overall, be sure to support this local business!

One of the places to get delicious African food in Vancouver. Customer relationships is top notch

First time trying African cuisine and I’m sad to say I won’t be trying again. I don’t know if it’s the restaurant itself or my own personal taste buds but we did not enjoy. Half our order we didn’t end up eating. The lady at the front was nice and friendly. Unfortunately the food itself wasn’t for our taste buds.

I have ordered okra soup with dried shrimp and dried fish. (that was mentioned in the menu). But they sent me disgusting okra soup with chicken. At least they would have rang me to check whether i like chicken in the soup or not. The chicken was so dry.i threw everything!

Absolutely delicious, affordable food, and great service. Portions are healthy- portions lasts me a few meals, very economical. The owners/employees are extremely personable!

Food and service were both great ‍️ It felt very welcoming and warm. We hadn't had western African food before and the owner lady was very helpful to explain each dishes for us. We ended up ordering #1, #2, and#3 popular dishes.

Egusi with Pounded Yam was great. There were definitely some spices, but not spicy. Me and my boyfriend somehow thought we tasted tofu in the complex grainy sauce. But the owner explained there is no tofu and it was pumpkin seeds based soup (sauce). Pounded Yam was fun! It was soft like soft gnocchi and tasted a lot sweeter and flavorful. In between fingers, it felt like clay and easy to handle to dip in egusi.

Catfish Pepper Soup was full of surprises. There was definitely good kick of the spices and peppers, and it was just right amount. The spiciness doesn't stay in the mouth and I was ready to go for another sip 5secs after a sip. The catfish itself was very tender and it fell apart as we touched the meat with tip of a spoon. It was a very hearty warming soup. I can totally understand why they say it cures cold. Loved it.

Jellof Rice with plantain was the most familiar taste. I felt it was somewhat similar to jambalaya, but a lot more dense and there was no vegetables or meat cooked with the rice. The plantain was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right!

The only negative thing I kind of want to mention is that different websites show a bit different menus for this restaurant from one another. For example, we didn't have an option to get the egusi with meat in the dine in menu while some online menu say it is an option. And prices were a bit different, too.

Yet, our overall experience was excellent at Alebi. Thank you.

I went with my coworker one day to try the place and it was the best rice I have had in my entire life. I recommend the jollof rice it was perfection. Staff were really friendly and the food was great. Will definitely go again.
