We came for a birthday dinner when it was super snowy in Vancouver a few weeks back. We had plans for another restaurant downtown, but due to the snow, we decided to go somewhere closer and walkable.

We were taken care of by Kevin and it was some of the best service we have ever received. The place was quite empty due to a lot of cancellations, but we are glad we went there. Restaurants are not only made through good food, but through good service. If Kevin isn't the manager, he should be. And if he doesn't get a raise, we would be upset.

If we ever come back, it's because of him. We can get Wagyu and good BBQ grill anywhere. But he is the reason why this restaurant is on our future plans.

One thing I would mention is the issue with the ventilation system. It's either on, and cold because the exhaust system blows inside or something. Feels like the door was left open - especially uncomfortable on a cold snowy night. Or it's off, and the area is smokey. For a high end place, that should be looked into.

This is my 1st time at their new location and it's so pretty in there! We got the VIP table which I really loved because it was like our own little world with lots of space. Food was amazing in quality and taste as everything was so fresh and you could taste the quality in every bite! The service was also great with friendly and attentive staff! We will definitely be back again soon! Highly recommend!

Amazing Japanese/Taiwanese bbq experience! The food was delicious and I highly recommend getting the “Holy Cow Set”. I’m happy they opened up a new location on Cambie. Excited to come eat again for another celebration.

There's an employee there. I think his name is matthew. Went above and beyond his role, and gave us some very personalized service! Food was great too. Would 100% recommend:)

I'd say the service and food presentation are great. The meat is way too salty, can't taste the beef, just salt! It's a waste of such good meat. Not exactly authentic Japanese BBQ.

Came here by recommendation from a friend; wasn’t sure what to expect at first but quickly loved the atmosphere. The food was also really good (we followed the instructions on the table for bbq-ing each type of meat) would definitely come here again!

Friendly staff and great presentation. Disappointed in the end, although we understand it was a 2 hour dining limit, we were rushed out after 1.5 hours, and was not offered the opportunity to have another drink. Next time, tell your customers it is only 90 mins dining time! 6pm reservation, out the door at 7: 29pm.

One word, terrible! We waited for 2 hours for 2 simple dishes, the servers don’t even know who to give the correct food to, received someone else’s order multiple times and saw it happen to other people as well. Once we got our correct order and not someone else’s, it had a nice big black hair in it, returned it. Just asked for the bill and left, don’t go here.

Delicious food paired with a fun atmosphere creates a great date night spot! We ordered the Alley salad, tako wasabi, "Holy Cow" platter, and "Alley cut" short rib, and sat at the bar where we got to grill our own food. There was a little grilling guide that taught us how long to grill each part of the beef which made the whole experience very interactive. The servers were also friendly and would assist me to make sure I wasn't overcooking anything.

The prices were on the higher end however you could tell they had quality ingredients which separates them from other yakiniku's I've been to. None of the meat seemed to be pre-marinated which is a good sign they aren't masking poor quality meat. All you needed was their BBQ sauce and lemon juice with a sprinkle of salt to have it taste amazing.

Will definitely come back with my family and friends to enjoy another great night!

I finally waited for them to reopen after relocating from Richmond. This place is def a higher end restaurant because of the meat price. Honestly, this is Vancouver - you get what you pay for. The atmosphere here is much better than the old location. You can tell much thought was put into renovation.

There’s only some selection I will always order.

1) The Tako Wasabi - appy and it’s served almost everywhere but THIS place has honestly the best one. I order it at almost every restaurant I go to and this is my top number one. The wasabi hits you in the nose in just perfect amount.

2) Plum Tomato - a sweet, fresh, and unique appy that goes great with meat. It helps to cleanse your taste after each different kind of meat

3) Alley Cut - not sure if it’s the way it’s prepared or just pure quality, it melts so perfectly well in your mouth. And I’ve tried all ways to make this. It tastes best medium rare but surprised it actually taste good after a bit over cooked!

4) NEW ITEM Vanilla Stack I think - they upgraded their dessert menu and I’m in love with the dessert. I’m a big carb fan. The sugar coated toast dipped with the whipped cream was too delicious.

5) Uni Scallop - almost forgot to put this in here. One of the pricier items but it’s uni and scallop with a slice of shiso leaf between. Just all in deliciousness altogether.

The holy cow platter would be best if you’re here for the first time or taking a friend here. At least you would know which meat part is your favourite. It has almost all the selections to try from.

Service was friendly and attentive. They do come help you cook your food sometimes when you feel like you don’t know what to do. I like their cheat sheet on how long to cook ur meat.

Not sure why some people say their meat is too salty? Most of the meat comes non-marinated. Unless you ordered it marinated in miso or it’s lightly sprinkled with their seasoning salt - I like my meat raw. And I can help myself to the sauce dish to my preferable saltiness.
