Sat at the bar for dinner. Dead season was great! Bat tender was amazing. The cocktail menu was amazing, not too sweet, well balanced.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food! The beef check was melt-in-the-mouth tender. Staff were amiable and accommodating. Check out this quaint restaurant next time you're in town!

Just outside the main village, you can escape the crowd and bustle to this quaint restaurant. The creativity and presentation of the dishes are 10/10. The flavors are very mild and subdued. Bison tartare, focaccia bread with pickled beet spread, Mountain mocktail (local elderberry and lavendar), the food was all amazing. Thank you!

The best dining experience in Whistler. The food, the presentation and the cocktails were exceptional! Javier was an amazing server and went above and beyond. Tommy was an incredible bartender with tons of knowledge and skill!

Have been wanting to go here for years, and finally had the chance to during the BCEIA BEST conference.

Just outside of the main Whistler village, the atmosphere is welcoming and convivial. No stuffiness here!

We all went for the set menu - options for all courses. I wish I had ordered the gnocchi buy in the end we did order one last plate for everyone to share.

The oysters were fresh and the perfect size with grated horseradish and rhubarb sorbet - an interesting and fresh combination.

Reservations are recommended. The place was packed and no walk ins were able to be quickly accommodated.

The tasting menu was perfectly portioned so we all left feeling satisfied but not overfull.

By far the best restaurant in Whistler for those who love a really creative chef using the best ingredients to make incredible dishes.

Treat yourself to an adventure in fine dining, combined with a warm friendly atmosphere, and served by people who obviously love fine food and love to share it even more. Enjoy the view of the mountain on a cute patio that ozzes down home comfort. Why not combine your wonderful mountain biking or skiing experience with a glorious eating experience? Bon Appetit! Kevin

My husband and I love exploring different places and food types. Alta Bistro was on our list on our recent Whistler visit.
We had the 3 savoury course for $59/person.
We could definitely see the advanced techniques of fine dining on the plates, although the taste unfortunately did not match that for us. We spent close to $200 and were expecting a much better tasting food. Although we had an outstanding service from Dave, the food did not deliver at all! We will not be coming back.
Quick tip, try the Il Caminetto instead. They won’t disappoint!

Food was great and so was the atmosphere. The waiters were accommodating. They even made a "to order" cocktail for me

Can't say enough good things about Alta Bistro. The menu is full of absolutely wonderful, creative dishes, but if you want classics (salumi, steak frites, burger) you can't go wrong either. The wine list is great, as are the cocktails, and they even have a great espresso (or affogato) for the end of the night. A must-do if looking for fine dining in Whistler.

Loved this place. The elk tartare with morel mushrooms is to die for! Also the cassoulet with the gruyère cheese is delicious. Other items that looked teally yummy was the rockfish, and the beef tart. They also have a great selection of cocktails

The chef's menu came with a 5 course meal, which were all small plates (fine dining style). It was a great way to try out most of the menu and saved a bit of money compared to ordering a la carte. It came with the brandade and white anchovy on toast, rangeland elk tartare, rainbow trout, rangeland elk striploin, and a chocolate dessert. Everything was delicious and well plated.

Cocktails- 5 stars
Tried the yuzu cocktail and the maple old fashioned. The yuzu was a bit too sweet, However, the maple old fashioned was very well made (especially enjoyed the maple infused popcorn which provided a terrific scent)

Service- 5 stars
Excellent service as staff were very friendly and attentive.

Ambiance- 5 stars

Food was great but do need to get accustom to. My friend didn't like it as much because they had a bit of bitterness to them. Definitely worth trying if you want something different.

The food was AMAZING! Lots of local fresh ingredients prepared to perfection - the duck literally MELTS in your mouth. Service and atmosphere was excellent. Awesome selection of cocktails and wine to pair with the food. Five stars does not do this place justice in my opinion! We’ll be going back soon…

Do yourself a favour and eat here. We ordered two appetizers and 2 entrees everything was amazing. Every dish was perfectly balanced with regards to flavour, texture, and colour. Great ambiance and service! I hope to be back again!

I have to say that I don’t normally give outstanding kudos to places but hands down this is by far my favourite restaurant in Whistler! My GF and I were just blown away during their 3 course meal they had in June, 2022 at this writing. From the friendly and super amazing service, to the cocktails that were seriously outstanding and a seriously skilled mixologist is making these to the just breathtaking meals and every dish looked beautiful and tasted even better. I wish I could give 10 stars. If you come to whistler (And especially stay at the Pinnacle Hotel) do NOT miss out on this unique and amazing restaurant! You can thank me later lol, Cheers all!

With fine dining price, I would expect better food, service and environment. The food was average and the waitress was impatient.

What an incredible dining experience! This was my husband’s favourite meal on our entire west coast trip. The 3 course meal was a fun way to treat ourselves to an incredible evening, and we enjoyed every dish.
The elk tartare is a standout, as well as both of our delicious entrees (duck and pork)!
Highly recommend.

Easily the best restaurant in Whistler. Great cocktails and dishes. Best french onion soup I've ever had.

The staff was wonderful! Alta bistro is a quality authentic style restaurant with a nice atmosphere, good food and a lovely wine list.

Drink quality was subpar, our party ordered the daily special gin and tonic, but the drinks tasted like water. We were also charged for hot water, something I have never seen being charged before.

Service was unacceptable. We had a party of 7 but one person never got served water when everyone else got water filled. When refills came around the server continued to skip this one person. When asked for refills, they never came back to refill. To top it off, they waited over 30 minutes before taking our order and never came back to check on us. Never came to clear our plates or our empty drinks.

Food was okay, but not enough to redeem the poor service. Would highly recommend not going to this restaurant and trying one of the many other restaurants with far better service.

The flavors of each meal were fantastic! Something about how they worked together. Truly a first class experience! This restaurant was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint!

Atmosphere was nice, food was good overall with two vegan options, but nothing exciting. Dessert however was excellent! Highly recommend the custard dish, with the coffee cardamom ice cream!

Have you seen that movie chef? I feel like whistlers fine dinning culture is that classic high end never evolving menu that would get that same boring and negative review. But Alta Bistro, that would be the menu our star chef would have chosen. Last Sunday I had a stand-up experience at the bar with Tommy serving. We opted with the charcutier, elk tartare, tuna, hay custard. Drinks from the G&T specials, wines to pair, even a perfect cherry with desert.
I have to say the culture is current, food is incredible, so much flavor yet perfect balance, and just straight up sexy plating. I really appreciated the thought behind each ingredient, the quality of them, and the seasonality.
The team killed it. Just wanted to throw out a big must try review for anyone wanting a true great meal with top end service.

Amazing food. It was a fantastic experience, my partner claimed the steak he had was the best he'd ever had. The ambiance outside was lovely, and we appreciated the heat lamps.

Food was great but service could be better. We had the waiter actually ignore us for the longest time before finally taking our order. If you are Covid aware, it’s very crammed inside and I could literally reach out and touch the stranger sitting beside me (the waiter had trouble sneaking through in behind and beside us because we were sat so close to other people) it felt like there were no precautions taken place to adequately social distance people, and quite honestly it made it difficult to enjoy the meal due to these circumstances. Will order takeout next time.

Simply the best fine dining in Whistler. Alta Bistro is truly a Whistler gem, with unique and delicious food that is hard to beat.

We had the three course price fixe menu and it was superb. I concentrated on the seafood options and my wife went with the carnivore choices.everthing was delicious and well presented. Sharing side plates were offered and used. Our waitress was terrific. A bottle of Cote de Rhone was the perfect wine recommendation. Two very big thumbs up.

Great service and food! The seared albacore tuna and octopus dishes were packed full of flavour and cooked perfectly. A lot of unique flavours and pairings. Keep an eye out for the rotational daily specials on the chalkboard.

A must try if you're in Whistler, I can't wait to come back to try the other dishes.

Small intimate space, walkable within the village. The food is a great representation of modern PNW Fare and is delicious.
Our group wish we had known how small the plates are, for the price point it’s a hard stretch to say this meal is value.
The service, currently during covid, is pretty lackluster but - knowledgeable when you do get your hands on the staff.

Tourist trap. The table felt like we were in detention. The waiter treated us like we were second class citizens. The beef sirloin was as tough as rope, and the drinks were served half full. I’ve only heard good things about the restaurant.from tourists. Too bad.

Beyond good or great. Maximum excellent! 5 course meal designed by chef nick and his team are true craft makers with local ingredients emphasized. Just love it

I wish I took better pictures but it was quite dark inside. I promise the food looked so much more eye pleasing in person. To be honest I was never a huge fan of French cuisine but this place blew my mind. All the dishes we ordered had so many dimensions of flavor and we loved all of them. Can’t remember the full names but we had beets burrata salad, risotto and beef. Service was also very good. Would come here again next time we visit for sure.

Incredible cocktails and cusine! The bison tartar is out of this world. Lis, our server and sommelier, is top notch and really enhanced a great dining experience.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here expecting high quality french cuisine.

We both got the Alta burger with side of chips. The chips were stale, cold and overly salty. The bun was not toasted and the patty was and bland.

Although the servers were warm and welcoming, we were very disappointed with the food and the price that we paid for it.

Excellent house- gin and tonic, that was blueberry infused.the crisps were great and were made in-house and had a great crunch to them.
Pork crackling was my first attempt, it had a little crab apple jam on the side which lightened up the oilyness of the dish.will have to stay for dinner next time but the ambience was good!

A great, intimate feeling dinner spot in the heart of Whistler. During covid they are charging $20 an person for reservations, but don't let this deter you. The food is original and tasty, the service impeccable. Serving sizes are on the smaller side, but we both walked away happy. We also felt safe and supported the entire time. Recommend sitting on the heated patio and the "dinner for two" option.

Went to Alta Bistro last night for the third time this summer. We had an incredible experience every time. Jessica paired up the wines to our dishes very well and Lilian (I think that’s what her name was) provided exceptional service. The chef catered to our allergies without hesitation and made a personalized desert dish that we recommended they put on the menu full time. Will certainly be dining in at Alta Bistro again soon!

This place was wildly delicious. The staff are extremely friendly (thanks Josh!), the food was great, the distancing felt safe, and everything about the food was fantastic. A true 5-star dining experience

Great dining experience. Fresh take on table dividers- visually appealing whilst maintaining health safety at same time! They had local and fresh ingredients. Purple broccoli! The calamari was a delight. Would recommended if you are looking for a place at after 9pm when most places are closed.

Beautiful New Year's Eve dinner. We were the first diner's to arrive and enjoyed a Michelin star class dinner, wonderful advice on BC wines, and friendly service.

The food is focused and thoughtful. I appreciate the all female crew as well. However the final result of the food is a little underwhelming. Portion is a bit mean for the price. The food tasted less special then the description. I came with high expectations and inevitably compared it to Araxi, which is not a fair comparison in some ways. At the end of the day, I likely won't return as a tourist from Vancouver.

A great Whistler spot. Sat at the bar and loved the service from the cool bartender. Great, interesting cocktails and loved the cheese plate. More fussy food than what I’m looking fir when I’m on Whistler but still a strong fine dining option in an BC area with too much so so food.

We had such a positive experience here with the staff. They were so genuine and accommodating. We had to leave before ordering food for some personal reasons.but we will definitely return as the environment was lovely and the food looked great.

Good-great pricey food, excellent service, but this once down-to-earth chic foodie restaurant has lost its soul. Screaming babies, beeping video game iPADS, and sticky floors are compatible with family fun but with not a fine dining experience. Once our favourite Whistler restaurant, sadly is no longer.

When overwhelmed with so many wonderful food choices, it's sometimes best to just try everything!

It took us a little to find Alta, but it was worth it. It has a very relaxed modern feel to it, great service, and the food is absolutely out of this world.

I highly recommend both making reservations and ordering the chefs plate with the wine pairings. It was a meal I'm not going to forget.
