Don't give samples. 7 yo kid couldn't check flavour before picking. Hazelnut chocolate flavour has 0 hazelnut taste.
Nice staff. Our experience with the product and lack of sampling wasn't great.

Such good ice cream, price for a cone has not changed in eons and so I ask why wait in a long line in a higher priced ice cream shop 2 blocks away? Why cram into a costlier "other" place, never get a seat and then have to go somewhere else to eat it? MARIO'/AMATO.has been here for 20 years since I first came and still has wonderfully inventive flavors and friendly international staff makes it feel quaint and welcoming. Getting good ice cream shouldn't be stressful, come here, relax, enjoy!

Worst customer experience ever. Ice cream wasn’t even that good. Earnest ice cream is right beside so I threw what I had and purchased some nice earnest cream. The boss / server was super rude. He told me to get out of the patio when I was using it. Very unprofessional, save your hard earned money folks

So when can we sample the flavours again? Amato's was my favourite.but if my child CANT experience what I used to experience (sampling flavours), not sure if I'll come back

A favourite of mine for years. Not sure when it changed from Mario's, but it's basically the same. Don't be a fool and ask for a million taste tests. Make your pick and commit to your choice like a man. I got a single scoop of Maple Walnut. We actually went to Ernest first and I didn't like the look of the price or the flavor choices so we came here. Great to grab and go for a walk on the seaside.

Keeping it simple… for those who haven’t tried this place, highly recommend that You go and have a scoop full of their Maple Walnut Gelato… haven’t had a better tasting dessert than that in a long time… mos def going back to try more…

Very bad service, we living in Coquitlam, but we like tartufo, we want to buy 2 boxes and call to confirm and email too, they said you can pick up anytime. However when we came yesterday, they said only have 20 (24 per box), if you want more must waiting for one to two hours, I want to said the street is busy and hard to find parking and the main point is we already confirmed we will come to buy 2 box of tartufo ice cream.
What is the customer service ？
Never come again.

Lots of different flavors to choose from, the staff is great. I just wish that I had gotten a cone, their scoops are way too big for the tiny cups they give!

On top: The cookies and cream was just what you would expect from an ice cream shop. This is my favorite flavor, so of course I loved it.

On bottom: You can’t see it, but the Pistachio Chocolate fudge flavor was pretty good. It was a special twist on the traditional pistachio flavor that you see in every gelato shop.

Still can’t have a taste. The service was good but the black cherry tasted like medicine. Wish we could test a couple before.

Variety of flavors. Definitely a 5 for gelato. Tried their cookie, it was a little hard. The staff was also very great at her service.

Lots of different flavours & friendly staff. They make you choose what you want and pay first, and after make your order, so that money & food don't mix! Excellent Gelato!

Inconsistent scoop sizes from cone to cone (or cup to cup), small scoops, large selection of flavours though, and tourist pricing. Service was so-so. Staff seemed impatient. There was no one behind me lined up.

This is definitely not authentic Italian gelato. Tantamount to commercially produced, low grade quality ice-cream one would find in any supermarket. False advertising to call it gelato.

They have keto ice cream (vanilla and chocolate). Enough said! They also have them in big tubs that you can take home. The vanilla ones taste like heaven:)

The workers here are so friendly! However waffle cones were so so stale we threw them out as soon as we took one bite. Gelato is nothing fancy, just those pre-frozen ones you can get at the supermarket. $12 w/ tax for two waffle cones with single scoop each. Much better gelato in the area.

Great experience family lived it although they didn't have the samples sure to covid obviously. Had the espresso flake was great. Will come back when around the area for sure

However, I feel that they have changed their recipe for Nocciolq gelato.feels lighter and less sweet (improvement)

Lots of selections of flavours, always seems busy when we go on a nice day. Location is convenient right near Olympic village and the seawalls. Good desert break for a sunny afternoon stroll. You can purchase gelato by the tub to go home as well.

Great selections and varieties, taste is great, yet they are one of the best ice cream destinations in town.highly recommended for Italian Gelato lovers.

This place has a lot of different flavors to choose from at great prices too! And very friendly staff. Will definitely visit again!

Delicious gelatos but when I asked for the two scoops to be put in separate containers so that the flavours wouldn’t mix she told me she couldn’t because it’s considered as if I paid for one scoop for each cup which to them is a 3.50 difference.as if. She made me feel as though I was trying to cheat the system. So she then gives me two scoops in one tiny tiny cup and then gives me a cup on the side.where the heck is the logic?

Keto Gelato and no sugar Gelato taste really good! Finally a tasty place that gives more options for people that avoid sugar.

Love the after 8 ice cream in this place. Came here especially for it. My husband on the other hand did not know what flavour he wanted. Due to their one way system, we had to choose what size we wanted BEFORE we were allowed to even look at the flavours. This seems really weird to me. How are you supposed to know what you want before you have even looked? I might for instance, think I only want one scoop but when I see the flavours, want two. Or I might look at the flavours and decide my favourite one is not there and I actually don’t want anything. Surely the one way system should be the other way around so that you can look at the flavours, choose what you want and then pay. Anyway, good ice cream, average customer service and in my opinion a silly one way system gives this place a 3 stars.

One more thing. It would be great if they had the option of a hand picked pint on their skip the dishes.

This place is the bomb. They've got two huge things of gelato. I've got a milk allergy, so it was a godsend to me that they have goat's milk gelato. Usually normal gelato gives me skin breakouts and makes me itch. The gelato dispensing agent was really nice too. I think she was Irish (?). She explained everything well.

This is my favourite gelato place. I always take a bucket of their green tea home whenever I come by. The price is very reasonable and it's the same thing you're getting at restaurants.

They have a ton of flavours as well and the place has this very classic ice cream parlour feel to it. During the summer, there is always a line of people waiting to get in. Between this and Earnest (there's a location only a couple blocks away), I'd choose this hands down.

We've always loved the ice cream and gelato here, and yesterday got even more reason to love this place. My daughter had a small wipe out on her bike in front of the shop and someone (I think the manager) came dashing out, gave my daughter an awesome pep talk about getting back on the bike and being brave, and then gifted her a free ice cream. We took them up on the offer right then and my daughter was cheered up and back riding on her bike. Great ice cream and great people.

I am really disappointed from the last visit for this place. I found a Disgusting aunt in the scoop of my ice cream cup and there was no manager to speak with. I used to like this place even I recommend it for a lot of people but not anymore

The greatest ice cream we've ever had. They have so many flavors. Great coffee and lattes too. Feels good to support a local business too. We usually come every Sunday. Sometimes twice a week.

Felt sorry for the irish girl tonight for the abuse from another customer.always such a polite girl with great service did not deserve to have that attitude.doing a great job keep it up
