Came in to get my locks interlocked, i was a little bit nervous at first, because of how hard it can be to find a professional loctician anywhere in BC. Believe me I’ve tried. Honestly, the services exceeded my expectations in every way, the entire staff is the definition of wholesome and professional, and as for the work they did to my hair, I’ll let the before and after pictures speak for themselves!

Let’s just say I took the long way home afterwards!

Not only are the hairstylists extremely talented and creative at what they do but they are also so lovely as people! Vi and Isatou were so welcoming and absolutely wonderful. I needed some help coming up with a hair style for a performance and they created something amazing!

It’s been such a long time that I wanted to get braids and finally I got them for the first time at Ammerose Hair Salon. They look exactly the way how I wanted them to look:) I LOVE IT! My hairstylist was Lanre and she did an amazing job! They are very understanding and accommodating for scheduling even though they’re busy. The environment was so friendly and they were like a family. The style that I wanted took long but they were patient and committed. V has been super supportive and helpful about the concerns that I have for maintaining the braids. Thank you:) I recommend this salon 100%.

I am very particular with my locs and V took care of me and listened to all my little instructions. Salon has a good environment with plants everywhere, and everyone is super nice

I’ve been to this salon twice and with two different experienced stylists. Both pampered my locks and were entertaining conversationalists. I have to say ever since moving here a few years back Vee has never failed. I've been to other salon's before looking to have my dreadlocks taken care of. Vee was the only one of the bunch that knew what she was talking about.

Going 2 years strong and my locs are forever strong and healthy. To be honest the best part is getting the scalp scratched during the wash.

The team is always super friendly, music is jamming, never had any issues with booking or being forgotten.

I contacted the salon about a week ago, asking to have my and my mum’s hair straightened for an upcoming wedding.the team responded very quickly and efficiently.we had our appointment today and the stylists were incredibly kind and friendly, and the service was excellent! Both me and my mum love our hair, and we even got tips from the stylists about ensuring the hair lasts and general haircare tips. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone, I will definitely go again next time I’m in Vancouver!

I would 10/10 recommend this place! They did my locs so well after 6months without treatment. The staff are so polite and patient with you. And for a bonus Vee gives you tips on how to well maintain your locs, she told me what products to use on them and they do detox if you want to deep wash your dreadlocs as well as fix the thin/broken locs! I was honestly amazed by how good they are. Thanks alot ammerose for bringing back to life my locs! Highly appreciate it:)

I got my hair relaxed by Vee today and she was absolutely amazing! I haven't relaxed my hair in about 10 years so I was really nervous but she made me feel comfortable and kept me updated o everything that was going on while she did it. I give they're service a 10/10!

I was looking for an experienced professional hair braider and I was super grateful to connect with Ammerose Hair Salon.

Isatou was able to assess my hair type, and give me some options for getting my hair braided, based on some pictures and some samples of hair styles that I was inspired by, on Instagram.

They took a deposit to secure my appointment, and on the day of my appointment, Isatou did my hair! The braids look amazing (as you can tell from my photos) and I would recommend all of my friends to support this local business.

Isatou really know what she is doing, they give super honest suggestions, and provide amazing service! I highly recommend you book an appointment for your next braid, corn rolls, or if you need a quick refresh on your self care routine.

V and Kenta went above and beyond to give me the dreadlocks style that I wanted. They are very knowledgeable, and they have the customer's interest at heart. I trust their recommendations, and I like that they have no hidden fees and tell you the pricing upfront. Also, their dreadlocks maintenance service is amazing and you will leave their studio looking sharp.

We have to say thank you for doing our dreads. We had a wedding to go to and my boyfriends hair looks amazing! They squeezed him in last minute on a layover. Soooo grateful he look like a plate of Ackee and salt fish with dumplin and banana!

I came to this location for the first time for hair extensions awhile back. I brought a body wave from them and wanted them to blend it into my hair and then style it all together. I ended up paying almost $900. I let my friends know and they said it was a rip off and it shouldn't have been this expensive at all for my amount of hair and service I received or any amount of hair or service for that matter, I also did do go to another hair salon later and ended up paying $300 for the exact same service. I did let ammerose hair salon know it was my first time so I do believe they did end up ripping me off cause my friends and everyone I told are right it was way too overpriced and it didn't make sense so just beware.

I am very disappointed because I did really like the results and enjoyed my experience but it is definitely not worth the price and other locations are equally good for way less imo.

This is a very beautiful place with very beautiful women, I’ve only been there twice but the two times I have they did such amazing jobs. I definitely recommend going here.

They fool the clients! It always the same price for the african tresses. They don't give the price before the service and I had tobpay $ 340 for what every one else does for 100 $. Choose an another place! It's a scam!

Did a silk press here! I was a walk-in mess, thankfully they had space. I have natural 4c hair and it's tricky to handle, I'm usually so picky with who does my hair as I am tender headed, finally found a place I would happily spend to get my hair taken care of. And yes, it was worth leaving Burnaby to downtown Vancouver for! Thank you ladies.

They did my hair like I wanted. They respected the coloring of my hair and even they cut the shape like I showed to them. It was a great team work. They was was very kind and flexible. I felt so happy when I saw the results, even my when my friend saw me she wanted to go there. So, I really recommend this place!

Hair never been so laid. Lovely and detailed. We were late for our appointment but they still managed to not only accommodate us but took the time to achieve close to perfection.

I went there to do a protein treatment, silk press and updo.the staff is really friendly and very professional. I really recommend this salon for the quality of the work although it was a bit expensive but worth it.

I'm not from Vancouver so when I was calling around I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted or where I wanted to go. The stylists at Ammerose Hair Salon were so understanding over the phone and answering all my questions. I decided to book with them and I'm so glad I did. I had a couple appointments that day and wasn't sure when I would get there and they were so kind and worked around my schedule. Once I arrived they were so welcoming and took their time to do a consult with me. They were open and honest with their opinions which I really appreciated and told me realistic expectations for each service! I had Isatou and she took her time to assure I was comfortable as I've had some bad experiences in the past. She showed me what she was doing and showed me how she was doing it so I could maintain it myself when I'm home. She told me some at home treatments I could do for my hair to make It heavier and made sure to show me all the products she used and where I could get them when I got back home. I ended up getting a conditioning treatment, cut and style. I love it! My hair is so soft, bouncy and smells amazing. Thank you to all you ladies! I will definitely be back! 10/10 recommend!

Vi and her team provide amazing service. I have been getting extension for 20 years and they really do the best job. They are so professional and kind as well. I come all the way from the Sunshine Coast to get my hair done at Ammerose.

Just want to they were good to accommodate for such short notice …, but would like to note if you are getting a simple braid up … YOU will be TAXED! I got the most simple braid up, which they said was a design, and charged me 165 dollars for 7 cornrows … price was not discussed before start but was expected to pay amount when done smh … they say “ it’s more expensive dwntown Van, Not knowing I did my hair at other spots downtown Van before there and was not nearly as expensive…. Felt ripped off with them knowing I was from out of town … will never book here again.

I have been meaning to get my hair dreaded for a while and after looking around for salons decided to go to Ammerose. I received a great service, am happy with my hair and they made me feel very welcome which is important as I was there all day. I look forward to coming back to maintenance.

I had my best ever cornrows done here. Good customer service and Professional. I definitely recommend.

Worst hair cut ever. I booked appointment for 5pm and Eli stared at 5.10pm. Took another client at same time and asked me to wait. I waited for 1 hour. Finally, when I said I am leaving, she came after 5 mins. She again started my haircut at 615 and started randomly chopping my hair without measuring. Finally, I ended up with uneven hair. When I complained about the experience they offered to fix it but ruined it more. They asked me to pay $90 after discount. I ended up paying $50 for ruining my hair. Don't go to this place if you like your hair. Untrained and unprofessional service.

Went to have my first ever Afro hair perm style done in my life and V made my dream come true. She was super nice, kind, friendly, caring and pro at what shes doing. It was an amazing experience! I've been here twice, got both long and short box braids and I can say the hairstylists are incredibly professional and super friendly (5 hours goes by so fast). They are so talented and skilled. It's not cheap but the quality and care that goes into the hairstyles is amazing and they always go the extra mile to make sure I am happy with my hair. I will certainly be going back again, such a great environment and good quality braiding. I highly recommend.
