I do not have a lot of experiences with Persian food, but I find it comparable with Cazba, which a Saudi friend recommended, so it is probably quite authentic. Repurposed from the old Steveston courthouse, the dishes are very tasty, the service is very good, and while it is small, as the restaurant can probably only accommodate about 20 to 25 people, the ambience is cozy and comfortable, so it is best to make a reservation beforehand, just in case.

The food was amazing, service was friendly, seats were comfy, bathroom was clean. We loved it. One of the best restaurants in Richmond.

Would I travel again from Vancouver to Richmond for a $25 Loghmeh dish?
Yes, I would. Here's why.

I loved every single item on my plate.

The Lamb/Beef "Loghmeh" was superb.
It was served right off the grill so it was hot. The way dishes are meant to be served. You'd be surprised how many times I've been served hot dishes luke warm. It was juicy, tender, well seasoned and buttery.quality Persian kabob (see pic.)

Now the Rice.also done correctly (see pic.) There was also a side portion of salad which I loved. It was pickled cabbage with lettuce and a creamy dill dressing and fresh onion served separately. The savoury taste of the lamb/beef paired perfectly with the citrusy aftertaste of the pickled cabbage finished with a creamy dill sauce.

The outdoor patio on that day was heavenly with the sun shining in beautiful Steveston, Richmond. I also appreciated the personal care they took for their patio with tastefully decorated plants and flowers and conveniently enough there was a Whole Foods right across the street.

So, here's another observation: A lot of Persian restaurants serve their dishes with hefty portions and I usually have left overs and the quality, even if good, has rarely been great. But, with Anar.the portion was slightly smaller but the quality and taste was superb. That difference stood out.

The service might no have been Fine Dining but it was genuine and personal. What came across for me was that these people were happy to have you as their guest, and appreciated your support.as a diner.what else could you ask for?

My first and last time visit! I went there with friends who recommended it. I went with the same friends who said food, price and service was not as good as before! The first thing that left a bad impression was the Persian waitress, her attitude killed the buzz and her comment to us saying “Only Persian customers are like this”! Seriously? !

Then, the price! Way way overpriced for what you get! I am Persian and have been to many Persian restaurants! Portion was small! Loghmeh kabab was too salty and had too much spice in it which made it not too taste like an authentic Loghmeh (koobidhe). Kash o badenjoon way too expensive and not at all good quality! Hiwever, Ghorme sabzi was good according to my friend.

Unfortunately, the quality of most Iranian restaurants deteriorates after a while. Today, my son and I had lunch at Anar restaurant and the quality of the food was very low, causing both of us to get food poisoning. At the same time, the lady who was in charge of the customer service of the restaurant was very professional. But I do not recommend that you try eating there even once.

We have got food from this place many times and it’s by far one of my favourite Persian restaurants. The atmosphere (especially in the terrace) is great.
Food is amazing and delicious, we always go there for especial occasions.
Also the customer service is great, everyone is so friendly, polite, and nice that makes you feel welcomed.
I definitely recommend this place for everyone, especially if you haven’t tried Persian food before.

Food was good, salad was really nice but the rice could use some sauce! Nice outdoor space.

I tried the Vegetarian Walnut pomegranate meal, and must say it was truely authentic and superbly decorated. I say that as a cook! The staff was extremely friendly. I enjoyed sharing some old persian music outside. THANKS

Definitely one of the friendliest restaurants I’ve ever been to. Right from when we stepped into their doors and until we left. A very welcoming place.

Now to the food. Started with Spinach Borani. Definitely had the “Wow” factor and worth ordering again. Noon o Paneer o Gerdoo was good but didn’t taste anything special. May order again.

Baghali Polo Ba Gosht Lamb Shank with dill rice was amazing. But then, I’m a BIG fan of anything DILL.

Highly recommend the Loghmeh Kabob Beef and Lamb skewers too. Seasoned very nicely and flavourful.

The Chicken Curry/Baryani was a bit spicy for my liking. Then again, I’m not a spicy food kind of guy. My daughter liked it. Probably why it was her dish and not mine.

Ghormeh Sabzi was my least favourite dish. Found the beef a little over cooked (or stewed). Would not order it again.

The Sharbat Persian Lemonade was sooo goood. How good was it? Let’s just say I had two.

The Persian Tea came recommended by our waitress. She wasn’t wrong. It’s was very good. Came in a petite cup with a walnut in between at date. Sip a little tea and then bite a little date.

Reservations are only made through their website. You can’t call in to reserve. Yes. I would definitely come back again. And soon too.

It was the first time I went there; I ordered Loghme Kabab and Chenjeh Kabab. Both were so delicious and juicy. Best Persian food quality in BC so far.

We ordered their Hummus for appetizer that came with persian bread and olives. So glad we did! It was so tasty!

For main course, we did try their Vaziri which is
One Skewer of chicken kabob and one skewer of minced beef and lamb loughmeh kabob served with basmati rice, house salad, grilled tomato. Delicious!

We were so full but still wanted to try their Baklava, which was served in a very lovely plating, wish there was more, but other than that, the dessert was great.

Buzzy, cozy, relaxed space. Great staff, friendly and well judged attentiveness. Really nice food, everyone enjoyed their choice. Heartily recommend!

This place is awesome - healthy organic food, tasty, lots of vegetarian selections, fast service, friendly staff. Now that we've discovered Anar, we go every week or two. All our friends we have taken, have enjoyed the experience.

Rather disappointed with my recent experience this week. It seems their portion sizes has reduced significantly! The dish I ordered was about half the amount of food (at same price of course) they used to serve compared to just 1-2 months ago. Less rice, less meat, etc. Also what is with the outdoor decor.a Gingerbread house theme was great for the Christmas season, but it's now MARCH.

What an amazing family run restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed with friendly staff, smile and a very cozy decor. Food is great example of persian cuisine. Its well flavored & plated. Don’t forget to try traditional persian black tea after your meal.
