I had a really positive experience. My dog is very fearful and reactive and everyone at the clinic has been super accommodating. She has to be sedated for procedures cause she just won't let strangers touch her, but that means getting a shot. Dr. Charach was very patient with her and after the shot got very enthusiastic with her so she wagged her tail and forgot about it. Not a lot of vets I have experienced truly understand that even though I've put in a ton of work to help her reactivity that some things just can't be helped. He explained things well and we're working towards a solution for my dog. I'm satisfied and feeling positive about the future.

Honestly, maybe the best experience I’ve ever had at any vet. The two ladies at the front were so helpful and kind and the doctor was so professional and nice to our dog. He was very sharp which made us comfortable.
Our Frenchie had a minor surgery to remove a Tumor and the whole experience made us so happy and we weren’t stressed at all. We are so grateful for today and so happy our dog is safe and was so well taken care of by such great people.

DO NOT COME HERE! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT! I didn’t read reviews before coming here and I deeply deeply regret it. I would give zero stars if I could. The Doctor is an arrogant “know it all” who will insult you to your face, prattle on for 2 hours without stopping for breath and worst of all will show no interest in your actual dog! He performed no examination of my dog and did not want to discuss his actual symptoms or medical history with us. We were in his office for 2 hours and my husband and I left still confused about what exactly we were supposed to do. He talks incoherently and tells worthless anecdotes about all the dogs he’s supposedly cured. He treats you like you are there only to let him pontificate away.on top of that, when we tried the elimination diet trial, my dog had GI upset and lethargy as a result and I called the clinic to ask for help. They did not call back nor did they ever follow up to see how my dog was doing. We were completely abandoned with no care so we went to North West Veterinary Dermatologist. As others have mentioned in the reviews here, Northwest Veterinary is courteous, professional and shows actual interest in your dog. We are in early stages of treatment so I can’t say anything about results but I can at least say the doctor there was kind and treated us with respect. Of which I can’t say of Dr. Charach!

Great experience! Very knowledgeable and helpful. They took the time to explain the whole process for treating a bacterial infection very thoroughly. I would definitely recommend.

DO NOT GO HERE! Run to North West Veterinary Dermatology! Why so many good reviews? They offer 10% off your next visit if you leave them a good review. SCAM! There is a reason why North West has a long waitlist and Dr. Charach does not. Be aware, he has two clinics, this one and another in Richmond. After over 24 visits, 2 years and over $5000 spent this "specialist" could not figure out that my dog had ringworm. RINGWORM! After all this time Dr. Charach never remembered who we were or what our medical history was. He just loves to hear himself talk and take your money. After just one visit to North West they knew immediately what the problem was because they listened to the information I told them. Dr. Charach will ask you to point to chart to show how itchy your dog is, then he will talk for an hour about food allergies and environmental allergies. He will take blood tests and skin tests and cytology tests without asking and then just charge you for it after. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING HERE! My dog suffered for to years! North West had her cured in 3 months. Her skin was infected for so long the hair on her face, feet and back leg will probably never grow back.

We brought our dog who had severe inflammation of her paws to Dr. Charach after the previous option offered to us was only invasive surgery. A well thought out regime of topical creams solved the issue. He also had some helpful tips about dietary adjustments that we have implemented for reducing other inflammatory skin issues and used recently during a UTI when she would not eat. I found the rates reasonable for a specialist. I would highly recommend this clinic.

We visited this Dr today after travelling from Vancouver Island for the appointment. It was nice we did not have to wait long to get in to see them, however after the appointment my partner and I both realized why there is not a long wait list for this clinic.

Upon arrival we both thought the receptionist/technical assistant we’re very helpful and professional. Once the Dr entered the situation our experience quickly changed direction.

I had spoken with the team here multiple times and told them we were travelling for this appointment, asked whether or not they would be doing specific allergy tests such as inter-dermal skin testing, and was told yes, no such test were preformed. Instead, we sat there for 1.5 hours while the Dr.rambled on almost incoherently about allergies… great, I’m glad we all know why we are here …. It was so bad at first I thought he might be intoxicated.

He would constantly speak over us if we interjected with a note/comment or question about what he was saying and how it may relate to an experience we are having with our own dogs health.

If I wanted to watch an allergy webinar, I’d hit YouTube.

At one point, after telling the Dr.twice about medication our dog was taking, he began to explain this medication to us later, like he had no idea we had already brought the subject to his attention, responding with “oh he’s taking this already? Ok great” …

I’m sorry what? Where have you been the last 20 minutes Dr?

The entire experience felt like we were sitting down for a time share sales pitch or info session lecture… trying to fill 1.5 hours of our time as if he was billing by the minute, repeating the same information over and over again… after all was said and done, we left with ZERO new information and a couple prescriptions and advice our home vet could have easily provided us with.

I suppose that why there’s no real waitlist here, please do yourself a favour and go to a real allergy clinic/dermatologist.

Also, the place was not clean, his outfit was in shambles and it looked as if he pulled that white Dr’s coat out of the Salvation Army bin or perhaps, it was last years Halloween costume.

Good luck.

I was a bit leery at first due to having some bad experiences with three veterinarian hospitals in this area but to my delight Dr. Charach proved that there are still some honest professionals out here. I was expecting to have our dog subjected to all kinds of blood tests or other cash grab procedures; instead, Dr. Charach outlined a very logical process where only necessary procedures were done and that other procedures would only be necessary pending the outcome of what was prescribed. This is so refreshing compared to the vets in this area where they do a shot gun approach and get you to do all kinds of tests before they give your pet all kinds of treatments. The staff is very friendly and the premises are also very clean. We will definitely be recommending them to our family and friends!

Thanks for helping Stone with his allergies! Goat, fava bean & quinoa are good! Itching has stopped & his eyes are no longer red. Turns out he was allergic to oatmeal as well! Attending an appointment is fun for a Chemistry teacher - hypothesis, controlled experiments etc! No environmental allergies - great news.

My Dog Cooper was better in no time! The staff are friendly and very helpful.
However, I am changing to 2 star because when I called to get a copy of the prescription that I had paid for, I was told that they don’t have a prescription note as such!? I called other vets and they said they do give prescriptions upon request.

I was referred to this vet clinic after two other vet clinics failed to help my dog with his ear infection. Instead of going down the route of a total ear canal ablation, we were able to try a less invasive procedure at Animal Dermatology. I appreciate that Dr. Charach is open to new methods and want to try less invasive routes before going to the extremes. As a raw feeder, I also appreciate that Dr. Charach is supportive of my balanced feeding methods.

Dr. Charach saved my daughter's dog and my cat - both animals suffering from food and environmental allergies. He is a rare professional who is continuously developing, who has not lost his curiosity, and is trying to solve your pet's issues in the least harmful (and the least costly!) way.
His assistant, Jess, is a very helpful, sympathetic and caring person appreciated by the pets and their owners.
Dr. Charach's clinic is highly recommended!

Please don’t waste your time. This place is a total joke.came to this place with my dog with severe skin environmental allergies recommended by my vet. I drove 2 hours to this clinic because it was all there was in the lower mainland for dermatologists. We had skin test done and immunotherapy injection made up for us. My experience at this vet has been nothing but a terrible one, 9 months or torture and no idea what I was doing/knowing if I was doing it right. I spend everyday stressing that I was doing the right thing for my dog because there was zero follow up and every time I called and asked the receptionist for help on his dosages ect she didn’t know anything and gave me guesses for answers. And never once did she ask the vet.and never once did the vet come to the phone to answer my concerns as a very worried fur mom. I learnt what to do basically online which is very hard to find information on allergen specific immunotherapy.dr charach has horrrrible bedside manner. Talks NON STOP and never gets to the point. ZERO follow up, ZERO concern, and ZERO HELP. I now go to northwest veterinary services and they are AMAZING! The nurse Follows up with you every 4 weeks and is extremely helpful, caring, and willing to go out of her way to make sure your dog is getting the right treatment the right way and responding to it properly!

this place is straight up a JOKE.

Dont take your animals here they see your pet as a paycheck and they will use your love for your animal against you!

Horrible experience. Brought my cat in and the dr. Didnt even touch or examined my cat. All he did was blab for 20min repeating himself over and over, gave me some food charged me 200 and that's it. My cat got even worse. Took him to a great vet they examined him from top to bottom gave me some meds and lots of info and food. Within 3 days my cat is doing amazing. Dont bring your loved ones here.
