Last night I had to rush my sweet Ben cat to the Langley Emergency Veterinary hospital. Dr. Mandy Wong was awesome, professional and compassionate. The entire staff are the very best and they did everything possible to save my cat. Unfortunately it was not possible. It gives me great comfort knowing there is a place like this where I can take my beloved pets in a critical time of need.
Thank you to all of you.

Last month I took one of our kitties to this emergency pet hospital since he was clearly in pain, and dripping blood/pus from his back end. He did not let me see what was going on plus it was hard to see due to all his long fur. They took him in, and after waiting for 5.5 hours, I got my kitty back, sedated, and prescribed probiotics, and told that everything was ok with him, that probiotics will stabilize his stomach, and that I will need to book an appointment with his vet in 5 days, just to follow up. I asked the vet where all the blood/pus came from and she literally said “I do not know, I wasn’t there”.
I got my kitty back in his carrier, when at home, I was able to check him out since he was sedated, all his back end was bloody, and showing a big lesion of the size of a quarter, with pus, clearly infected. I phoned the clinic back and they asked me to watch my kitty over night and let the probiotics to work.
In the morning the lesion looked worse so I booked an appointment with his regular vet.
At his appointment the vet got mad and asked how come the emergency clinic did not see that he had ruptured one of his anal glands, due to infection.
Fortunately, my kitty is now ok thanks to his regular vet, and that I did not wait for 5 days for the probiotics to work on as per the “vet” that “checked” my kitty at this emergency clinic and charged me $600 dollars for a sedation, probiotics and keeping my kitty in pain for 5.5 hours.
Two completely different diagnosis within less than 24 hours. I have both diagnosis in writing, and willing to share a copy to anyone who would like to confirm this act of negligence: from this awful clinic and their $600 charge, and from my kitty’s regular vet, who for less than $500 dollars took care of my kitty in a professional and knowledgeable manner. My advice: DO NOT TAKE YOUR FURRY CHILDREN TO THIS PLACE, even if you have to drive a little bit farther, the time you will spend on the road would be probably less than the time you would have to wait at this awful place and for an expensive-not-professional service.

Thank you so much to the entire team here for your thorough, kind and compassionate care during the sudden and unexpected loss of our cat. Despite the clinic being very busy, we did not feel rushed through any part and the vet was extremely thorough in her assessment, care, explanation of our options and ultimate handling of needing to euthanize him. He was purring in my arms right up to his final breath and I know that wouldn’t be the case if it hadn’t been for the loving care he received here. Thanks again for making one of life’s most difficult moments as easy as it could be, all things considered.

We are so incredibly thankful to the compassionate staff and Dr. Colgan for their incredible care to our beloved dog and family. We came in without calling ahead of time and they took us in asap. We had to make an unfortunate decision but they handled our pup and our family with grace. You made our final moments with him so peaceful. Thank you so very much

Very grateful for the compassionate and skilled veterinary staff at AECFV for being there to help us, especially after hours. Thank you for all that you do!

Amazing staff, you can tell how much they care about the animals. We 100% trust them for any emergency with our cat, they’ve provided nothing but excellent care over the years. Usually busy since they service a large area outside of usual vet hours but if your pet is critical they will get you in. Recommend calling ahead so they’re ready for your pet when you get there. Thank you so much to everyone that works here for the work that you do to keep our fur babies happy and healthy!

Thank you to the amazing staff at AECFV! My poor old boy hadn’t been himself for days. He was barely eating or drinking, very lethargic and when he seemed to be in a lot pain we decided to take him to emergency as our regular vet would be closed for the long weekend. The staff were incredibly kind, compassionate and down to earth! We found the price and the wait to be very reasonable compared to other emergency vets we have been to. The doctor was knowledgeable, respectful, patient and straight to the point with cost and a good plan of action for our little guy. Our boy is much more comfortable now awaiting a visit to our regular vet to discuss surgery for his stones. We want to thank the staff member who took the time to speak to us upon discharge about our options and really listening to our concerns while we were panicking about our boy. Your patience and kindness was so appreciated in our time of need. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

During a time of pure vulnerability, sadness, tears, I am so thankful for our positive experience at AECFV.
I was recommended to them from our regular veterinarian hospital as we had a short notice, strong decline of our dog's health and it was his time to pass on.
I phoned them ahead of time to advise we were coming. They set up a file and said they would be ready for us when we arrived.
When inside, we were greeted right away and the technician (sorry, not sure her position) described to us the next steps and that we could wait in the exam room while they prepped our dog to be euthanized.
They brought him in and we had all the time we needed to say what we needed, etc.and there was a doorbell in the room to let them know we were ready for the procedure.
The vet came in and explained every step to us. We had not been through this before.
The process was extremely quick (almost too quick!), and our dog looked very calm and was not in distress from the experience.
We had some time to say goodbye after the procedure and the lady that came to collect him afterward also handled him with such care and kindness, even calling him handsome.
I felt so relieved in a devastating point in life, that they made this process so easy and most importantly, our dog was in good hands for his last moments.
I am so grateful for how kind everyone was and how well they treated him.
Thank you team so much for the tender love and care provided.
Would not hesitate to recommend, based on my experience.

The care here is top notch. Staff is professional, compassionate and knowledgable. My kitten stayed for three days due to an intestinal blockage, the vets that were helping Milo were wonderful. I am very happy with the level of care he received and the communication between all the staff and myself during Milo's stay was excellent. I always knew what was happening and where we were at with the blockage. I was offered different options on how to proceed with a prognosis for each option. They respected my decisions on care and luckily they were able to resolve the issue without surgery. The cost was less than what I was quoted - they are fully transparent on costs involved, no surprises here. At pick up, the staff at reception were thorough with discharge instructions and gave me tips on how to help administer meds to an opinionated kitten. I'm very grateful for the care and level of expertise offered at this clinic, can't thank you all enough.

This is by far the best and the most versatile animal emergency hospital. My cat came there under extreme dehydration in the midnight. After a comprehensive examination and have fluid for 12hrs they brought my cat back from dangerous. Also they provide me with a detailed invoice contain a doctor’s instruction.

Please be diligent where you take your pets for emergency services. I am devastated at how my little pug was treated today. She has an open sore on her paw caused from a yeast infection. She needed a simple prescription but was in distress and not sleeping well or walking on it. She wouldn't go for her morning walk so I informed the clinic she had not been the washroom. They kept her in a kennel in the back for over 3 hours. The first 2 hours, 4 females were sitting at the front end desk talking about tiktok and gossiping about their private lifes. I let it go and assumed the real professionals were in the back. Their triage tream needs more training and made bad call after bad call. Everyone who came in after me came and went they said it was triage. I sat with the other owners. One was for a dog who he thiught might have swallowed something but was only their because of his wife lol. He was not distressed, the dog was not distressed. This happened again and again. A cat that might not have given to the washroom in a day, maybe. I found the first time I came here they had an extremely competent vet on. The one today was not interested in working hard to get things going or using common sense to triage and keep people moving in and out. After 3.5 hours when I found out they had not taken her to the washroom, I left with myself and my dog in complete distress. I got the robot response from an unhelpful receptionist (one of the ones so freely gossiping about her personal life). Note to management, talk to your front end about professionalism and re-eduate your team on proper triage. It would have taken approximately 5 minutes to look at the file and the paw and give me the spray. Today you were wrong and the way the receptionist dealt with the issue and her cold demeanor is what caused me to write the review. That and holding my dog hostage in a kennel without allowing her to go to the bathroom. The Boundary Bay Emergency Clinic is hands down the best, most professional, well reviewed emergency clinic. The only reason we came here was because they moved. Now we'll drive to Surrey to attend Boundary Bay as their care, professionalism and service far supersedes what we received here.

Just had to put my cat down a few days ago. Couldn't get in to see my vet so I took him here. Been here before so I was aware of the level of care and attention they take with animals and owners. They made the last day of his life as stress free as it could be. From the straight forward and clear cut explanation of the situation from the Dr Collingwood, to the prompt diagnosis due to an in house lab for blood work it wasn't long after we arrived that we had a diagnosis. Unfortunately it wasn't a good one as he had to be put down, that being said the staff and Drs here make it as peaceful as possible and I'm glad to have taken my buddy there to get the best care I could've asked for in his final moments. It's nice knowing I have 24/7 emergency care so close to home for my animals and that the care received there is top tier. Thanks again to the staff for making both my wife and I and our cat feel so comfortable and cared for.

Wasted my time waiting around for my dog to even be seen by a doctor. I understand that my dog’s case was not as severe as some of the others, but I would’ve appreciated some transparency. No real communication from staff in regards to how long I’d be waiting. When I entered, my dog, who has separation anxiety, was taken away and locked up in a kennel in the back while staff repeatedly told me that he was next and it would just be a little bit longer. Ended up leaving after a couple hours and had my dog seen elsewhere.

We had to put our senior dog down recently. I was admit on having it at home as she has intense anxiety. With it being late in the evening this option wasn't available. I'm so thankful for all the staff at the emergency clinic. Everyone was so kind and patient. They made this process as comfortable as something so traumatic can be. I'm thankful her last moments got to be in comfort in a safe space where we could all have our private goodbyes with her and be with her through the process. Thank you all.

Staff and the doctors are so kind, knowable, and empathetic. They made one of the worst days of my life a little bit less horrible with their care. They will always be my first choice for an emergency vet and I do not want to even move to far away from the office due to the peace of mind them being there give me. If you are looking for a wonderful emergency vet office that never uses the situation and the love you have for your pet to receive financial gain this is it! Wonder humans!

We were so impressed when bringing in our rabbit today! It's very difficult to find quick support for small animals in the lower mainland and our regular vet was not available when we were in need. All of the staff were so nice, approachable, empathetic, helpful, and thorough. We are so thankful for the care that we received today!

Today morning I had to take my puppy Toby to emergency clinic so I called Animal a
Emergency clinic of the Fraser Valley.to see if that are able to see why my puppy got swollen. When I arrived the front desk was quickly taking my information and nurse took my dog right away.he got allergic reaction from either be sting or spider bite so they took him in immediately to give him a Benadryl shots and steroids stop the swelling’s to make sure that he had possible poison from the spider doesn’t kill him. Dr. Mandy Wong prescribe him steroid pills and Benadryl pills. The nurses and front desk staff are very friendly. I was in the clinic up for more than an hour so they make sure that she’s getting better Dr. Wong along with suspecting that he got spider, bite, or stung by the bee.
My puppy Toby is back home, fall asleep, and I monitor him. Thank you for the fast respond.and for helping my puppy and for the best service. He’s only 13 months old, English Mastiff.they were not scared of him like other vets. My puppy is so friendly with other dogs and people.
I recommend this clinic.

I am so incredibly grateful for the hard work and genuine kindness of everyone over at AECFV. My dog had been having an issue with his eye, and we could not get an appointment with an eye specialist for about a month. His eye had suddenly gotten much worse, so we rushed him to AECFV, and they knew that the issue had to be solved immediately. They worked very hard to find a specialist that could take him that same day, and he was taken directly to Vancouver, where he had an eye enucleation. That surgery was so important for his health, and could not have waited longer than a few more days. The doctors and assistants at AECFV are miracle workers. I cannot thank them enough.
