I am a member of this gym since last year, I was about to get enter and a guy was going out so I kept my key and fob back again In my purse, a lady staff named MARINA, came to me and straight away CONVINCED herself that I was some sort of culprit, very rudely she’s like tell me your full name, I said it, she didn’t wanted to listen so as a PROOF, I showed my keys and still she went too far and asked me to show that my fob is working, I literally went outside and then entered again. This is kind of humiliation is completely not acceptable.there’s fine line between making sure and already treating someone like they are culprit. So she made a fool of herself out of this, and after this, I don’t think I would like to go to such place.

Edit: This is my reply to the owner’s reply on my review, so you’re suggesting that her asking and behaving in such humiliating manner was diligence and for the security purpose while completely missing the focal point, I know very well how important security and Safety is, I would rather prefer that way.what’s unacceptable is THE WAY she conducted the things, not letting other person explain or clarify or even care to listen. Also the TONE. It was outright disrespectful, humiliating and not at all professional behaviour of Marina. If you want to neglect that fact, fine by me, I have already canceled my membership because I would like to pay to the businesses who value their customers

No one answers the phone. Walked over anyways to inquire about a drop in visit. Can't get in the building, no one at the desk, phone doesn't get answered.

Anytime Fitness Downtown Victoria changed my life. On one typical boring day during the pandemic in Victoria, I decided to join this gym because I lived in the building above. After joining, I was already thinking about when I would cancel my membership, as I’d never been successful in regularly attending a gym before. Well, that all changed when I began personal training with Josh. My mind was continuously blown with all the things he taught me about weight training, all the different compound and accessory exercises, and the concept of progressive overload. I started seeing myself getting stronger and quickly became hooked. I continued personal training for 2 years and made incredible progress with Josh’s friendly guidance. And now I'm officially a gym bro! AF Downtown Victoria served as a beacon of light for me in a sad and gloomy city. I’ve now left Victoria, but this gym will always have a special place in my heart.

This is a secure and neatly maintained gym with welcoming admin staff and supportive trainers. The gym is open 24/7, which makes it incredibly convenient with a very accessible downtown location. Peak hours (4: 30 pm to 7: 00 pm) are busy, yet not impossible to train. Early mornings are less crowded and more comfortable.

The gym administration cares about keeping the facilities in good shape, regularly bringing in new equipment, and enhancing the older ones. Friendly staff, fair prices, and full days to get your workouts done. Keep up the excellent work!

I love this location. Friendly staff, ample equipment. Bonus of being in the middle of three pokestops if you play Pokemon Go.just sayin'

Extremely unethical management. Will hound you for payments even after cancellation and will spam your email with threats. Money grubbing business. Avoid at all costs.

Good gym, but the only thing I hated were the giant windows that had no tinting or blinds. The equipment is just right there next to the window of a busy street. A bit uncomfortable.

Great place, always clean and really attentive staff. I can see their trainers really try with their clients which is refreshing to see.

New member at this gym and it is a super welcoming environment. I had a complimentary assessment with Destiny and will be seeing her for a few more strength training sessions as she is super supportive and knowledgeable.

I am back to AF Yates after 2.25 years away due to Covid. I have maintained my aerobics fitness during this time away by running, until two months ago when my knees finally revolted so I had to convert to fast walking. It is wonderful to get back onto the elliptical trainer again as I have no knee pain on it and can work really hard.
It will take a few months to get back up to where I was in my muscle strength, but this 67 year old body is up to the challenge. Thank you AF Yates for being there for me. It feels like coming home.

Very bad customer service! Customer care department replies after couple of days, not collaborative, I have been asking for a manager to call many times! They dont care, complicated policies, and lack of professionalism.

I dont recommend it it is a hasstle if you wanna cancel membership. Other gyms are way more flexible and cheaper! And they value customers.

Nice equipment and I enjoyed that the gym was always open. However, the membership did not offer fitness classes and other amenities that most gyms offer. I believe they should offer more affordable rates for students and military forces. Also, they weren't upfront about having to give 30 days notice once your membership expired. I had to read the fine print after the fact.

I really enjoyed that the gym was open 24/7 and some of the equipment. However, the gym is overpriced for not including fitness classes or other amenities (such as tanning, massage chairs, etc) I work at a recreation centre and they offer more amenities and better equipment for a more affordable rate. Furthermore, they haven’t changed the sanitizers for several months which isn’t great during COVID.

Money grab, miscommunication was between the co-workers and the customer gets blamed and penalized. So they cancel my membership and took more money than they're supposed to. Highly suggest you record any conversations because the gym represents his lie. Stop informed me the documents I would need they form me how simple it would be to get a 8-month freeze when I'm in my job they said it's so easy because of the corona thing and based on your job you will get it no problem, I presented my job ID but now they requested documents from my supervisor. I have also replied to your email and did what you say and I got back I rejected email saying I was not approved. Your representative lied to get me to sign the contract and then you guys try to take advantage once I signed. Of course I'm going to get mad you're stealing my money and you lied lack of integrity why wouldn't I be mad

This gym is awesome! Aside from its overall cleanliness and variety of training equipment, I particularly like my training sessions with Coach Matthew Wilson. He has been very helpful, motivating and fun. I learned a lot from him too about fitness and health. Thank you Coach Matthew, and thank you Anytime Fitness - Victoria.

Starting to fill out my leather jacket and bandana from all the heavy weights I’m lifting. They call me snakebite in the streets. Nobody wants to step up ya heard. I am currently single if any good looking dames wanna piece though.

Their team is amazing, I love the ambience, trainers are well educated and cool, My Boss is Matthew, such a great person, I have four major injuries and I am doing well with the way he is coaching, it’s been two months since I have started and I’m feeling much stronger?

Great looking gym. I wanted to sign up here. It’s right by my house. But signing up is a bit of a complicated process. And paying $185 upfront is a little nuts. Anyway if you don’t care about money this is probably the place for you.

Very big gym (compared to my home gym). Very clean, lots of equipment and room to social distance

Worst customer service ever they never answer phone! Does not matter what time of the day you call!

Emailed anytime fitness to cancel a membership that was up in August. Anytime fitness confirmed the cancelation and continued to bill me into October. When contacted they said the account was active despite having an email saying it wasn't. Anytime fitness refused to cancel and reverse the payments and the corporate contact would not help at all.

The corporate contact was extremely argumentative and unwilling to help at any point. When I tried to call anytime fitness on their website it said that my account information did not match and that they could not put me through to a person.

Updated: emailed the yates street and they are fixing the issue and refunding multiple charges to the card. I give anytime fitness corporate a 1 out of 5 but will change this review to a 3 out of 5 due to getting decent assistance from yates street staff.

I love this gym and the staff working there make it even much better. Always clean and orderly, and staff always greeting members with a smile. Thank you Anytime fitness downtown, especially Matt, Josh, and Katelyn:)

Not offering the free trial currently, no walk-ins or day passes. Website clearly states they have a free 7 day trial. Should be updated.

Below average gym they don't even have a proper bench press station, you have to use the squat rack I will not renew my membership when it's up

Great facilities, great staff and great gym members. Always clean and respectful. Wish they could extend it and have an area for heavy bags etc.

I have been going to this gym for over a year now and it has never disappointed. I just had my first personal training session with Josh, admittedly I was super nervous as I have never done personal training before. Josh was absolutely amazing and calmed my nerves right from the start.he was professional, extremely motivating, and very positive. I had such a great time and the best workout thanks to him! Will definitely be booking in again!

Very clean club and awesome equipment. Unlike many other fitness clubs, Anytime Fitness has updated weights and equipment. Choose your timing carefully, can be busy at certain times.

Was in Anytime Fitness Downtown Victoria around 6 pm today (06/29/2020), unfortunately there was an unfriendly other member who insisted on using 2 devices at once during the busy time. He was angry and came close to me physically! I went to the staff and told them about it. An employee came along and did nothing about it. Not to mention the distance rules. Unfortunately the staff did nothing. Very disappointing thanks for nothing. Dear management, don't write me a standard answer! You'd better watch the videos and instruct your staff.

Its ok. Not enough squat racks and 1 place to deadlift. Also a mounted pullup bar would be better than the racks having it. People are using the racks so you can't use the pullup bars. To many
Random machines and barely anyone using those. Most people seem to be standing around waiting to use the barbells. I'm grateful though they are open during these trying times with covid. To add to that, I'm paying $70 a month for a month-to-month contract. For that you shouldn't have to stand around waiting for a bar for 30 minutes.

Feels great to be back at the gym in such a clean and well cared for environment. During these times it’s always refreshing to deal with staff that are so attentive and treat the needs of their members with such urgency.

This is a fantastic gym! I love it. I really appreciate that they're taking extra precautions to keep the space sanitized to limit the spread of COVID-19. I needed this after staying home on the couch for 2 months. Just what I needed!

Love this place. Staff is knowledgeable and always friendly. The equipment is new and well cleaned. Overall, it's an awesome place to workout.

Recently joined this gym and am so impressed by the freedom: you can get as little or as much support as you want, the gym is gorgeous and clean, and I've been going in the mornings and it's not overcrowded. They have every piece of equipment you could possibly want, and very friendly, no-pressure staff.

Everything was Ok until I've contacted them to ask for sign up 13 yrs old son. As they told me; some gyms allow people under 18 to join BUT not them; even their website says; "there is no set age limit".

AND think twice before signing a contract; I was considering to switch to a family friendly gym after this (there are plenty of them in this area!) ; but they advised me to pay remaining months (it's 11) if I want to cancel; even if I DON'T get any service! (Normally, they should ask me to pay the amount based on their "month-to-month" tariff about how many months I went there)

I'm not gonna give 1 star because of the trainer and weight machines are good.

The gym looks nice, clean, etc etc. But I tried to sign up for a membership and they refused to let me pay with credit card. It's the 21st century. C'mon guys get it together. Will be looking for another gym downtown that want my money. Likely Forge right down the street.

Awesome gym! I've been a member for almost a month now and I like that it's almost never busy given that its open 24 hours. I've been at different times during the week and on weekends and never have to wait for equipment. The equipment is well functioning and it has a separate studio which is a bonus, with fitness/yoga classes during the week.

Super friendly staff and the fact that it's 24/7 makes it never full (which is a great thing) so you never have to wait for equipment!

Great gym; rarely packed but always done people around. Free parking after 6 is great, and 24 hours makes fitting in a workout super easy.

Fabulous gym with great, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent equipment, class offerings, easy to find parking on same block, clean, organized. Happy to be a new member there!

Really clean gym. Great equipment. Not crazy busy. Friendly staff. I have used the community center gyms for many years now, and it's been a great change. Nothing beats a 24h gym 7days a week open on holidays which drives me crazy with rec centers, and no more disappointing closers due to weird hours and rushed gym sessions to get workouts done before closing. Great facility!

Really nice gym for my needs. It's a little small, which could be an issue as more and more people join. Right its ok as it isn't busy and I've not had to wait for equipment or machines. Everything is always clean and the staff are very friendly. Good job.

Started with the free trial. Clean gym with great (functioning) equipment. Love the flexibility of being able to go whenever I want. I joined and had a training session with Josh who was punctual, professional, tough but encouraging.

Amazing place to workout and very clesn. Staff is very friendly and Josh is amazing trainer, definitely recommend training with him.

Overall this is a great gym for simple needs. If all you want is some cardio and weights that is easy to access at any time of the day, this is the place to be. I've been to other gyms where they were too big and it was a hassle and discouraging to have to walk up and down stairs to get my workout done, at Downtown Victoria Anytime Fitness, it's just a few steps away to everything available to make your workout quick and easy.

Machines are all new and up to date, they seem to be maintenance well and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. They only have 3-4 classes running during the week which I'm not into classes so no problem there.

My only wishlist would be:
-Make it a little colder during day hours (It's a little too warm for me)
-Get a Slant Board for stretching calves and perhaps a cable machine for calf workouts as well.

Otherwise I have no complaints!:)

I’ve joined the gym a month ago, it’s really great place to workout, clean, a lot of equipments and great coaches. I highly recommend to consider it if you’re going to join a gym.

When I found out that I was going on the list for breast reduction last week and that it would be in 6-9 months I new I needed to step up my exercise plan in order to be healthier for the surgery and to tone down the muscle weight I had put on. I signed up last week at Anytime Fitness, Yates St location and the atmosphere and the people have been very welcoming. I was also able to have a session with Josh, one of the personal trainers and he was incredibly supportive of my journey and conscious of the injuries to my right side that have never fully healed. Over all I am incredibly happy to have started this journey on such a positive note!

Great location, love that they're open 24 hours. No matter what time of day (or night) I've come I haven't had to wait to use any of the machines or felt unsafe late at night. Facilities, including showers are really clean! Staff have all been wonderful so far, very welcoming and friendly. They also offer introductory personal training which is a nice bonus!

It’s a very convenient location with brand new equipments. It’s always clean and has everything one would need for a good workout without having to wait for equipment availability. Plus, the fact that I can visit any other location helps me stay with my workout plans when traveling for work.
