I've been a member for almost a year now with royal oak as my home gym and it does feel like home. I've been to a lot of gyms but Anytime Fitness stands out as the most friendly, fun and challenging space there is. I cannot stress enough as to how good the environment is. Just showing up makes you want to work out and the crew is the friendliest of any gym I've ever come across in my life. I certainly did not go wrong by choosing Anytime Fitness and i know others feel the same as me. This is what fitness should look like. Challenging, exhausting, entertaining and fun.

Clean gym and good area for multipurpose training. Was pretty busy everytime I've gone but of course you can get in a good quick workout

When I came in I was greeted by the friendliest staff. They are so welcoming and made me feel comfortable when I joined. On top of that, the facility is kept soooo clean, the sanitizing wipes are always filled and everything is very tidy. While I was working out I noticed how the trainers were so professional and really knew what they were doing. Overall, great experience.

This is not my home gym, but I occasionally drop in because of convenience. It’s very clean, well organized and facilities are pristine. Love how they offer free snacks for anyone to grab. Good key and lock storage, no need to bring your own lock. Monkey bars and big separated room with mirror for abs/stretching/Pilates. Wish they had a hip thrust machine though!

Perfect gym with all the necessary equipment and friendly staff. Monthly challenges to win prizes and cute little stuff like free bananas once a week!

Signed up a month ago, payed in full for a while year and couldn't be happier with my desicion. Great quality equipment and the facility is well maintained. Also very friendly staff:)

I recently moved to Burnaby and was looking for a nice comfy gym to drop in for casual workouts. I tried GL and it was just too busy for me. When I visited AF, staffs helped me out for the transition and this place is so nice and chill. I didn’t have to wait for an equipment at all so that’s a win for me. Great location, friendly members, no horse plays, grunting, dropping weights, competitive pricing and friendly staffs. 10/10 would recommend.

I really enjoy it here. The staffs are all super nice and patient. The environment is great as well. Definitely recommend to come and work out here.

Proud to go there to workout, gym staff is more than friendly and willing to help you with any issue you have in there!

As the other user stated the bikes in the studio have been broken for 4+ weeks

and now this equipment is also broken.

I wonder if I can cancel my contract for lack of maintenance without getting the courts involved, maybe a consumer protection agency? Maybe small courts bc?

Great gym, well maintained, great equipment, very friendly trainers they are very helpful and professional. If you’re looking for a gym, I would highly recommend this place.

They seriously need to maintain their equipment, its been severely neglected they dont even have straps for the bikes! VERY UNSAFE

This is honestly the best gym I’ve been to. The equipment are fairly new and in good conditions but my favourite part about this gym are the staff because they’re super friendly and inviting. They make you feel safe and comfortable while working out.

This is a the best gym that I have been! It is really close to my home and a very convienient spot. The staffs are friendly and they offer personal training for the good price. I highly recommend here because it is super clean and chill.

Well maintained gym, free of attitudes and judgements. Helpful staff and many programs designed for those who just want a simple workout to others who want something more intensive. Highly recommended.

While it had pretty good amenities for fitness lovers, the subscription fee is expensive and inflexible. There are no walk-in or family options either.

Not the best experience out of all the clubs I’ve been to. It gets crowded and the Asian male trainer isn’t personable. I said thank you to say goodbye and only the girl trainer acknowledged. The Asian trainer just stared blankly at dead space; apparently he only says goodbye to white people. Yikes.

Good facility, newly renovated and not too busy during peak hours. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good enforcement of rules during covid. However, equipment takes a long time to repair. Not enough benches/incline. Free weight area should be updated. Still says maximum 2 people when they can fit a 3rd person in there. Kind of expensive. Other than that its pretty good.

This is by far the best gym I’ve ever been to. The staff at this location make this gym a whole other experience. It’s always kept clean and organized. Everyone is so welcoming, kind, and supportive. The machines and equipment are great and are always working. I’ve been to other gyms that have needle dispensaries in the washrooms, but you will definitely not find anything like that here. The members are all there for the same reason, to grow and better themselves. This is something you would expect is the norm at most gyms, but unfortunately, it’s not! I always look forward to coming to this gym and getting a workout in. If i’m ever not feeling my best, my mood is quickly lifted by the friendly staff. When I first started training here, I was very shy and quiet. My main goal was to get my work out done and leave. Almost two years later and I am grateful to call these people my friends. My fitness journey would never be where it is if it weren’t for these lovely people who approached me, pushed me out of my shell, and helped me gain confidence. They took the time to educate me on fitness, specifically weightlifting, and helped me when needed, with my form or a spot, etc. They genuinely care:) That is what makes this gym different.

Worst experience in a gym ever, the girl that was working there with blond hair was very intrusive, kept harassing me and my friend every chance she got, we were doing two exercises and needed two different equipment and would come in the middle of an exercise to ask us to clean up. Would put it back only for us to take it 1 minute later. This is abuse of power and i would never recommend this gym to anybody else. After my free trial even my friend and her man canceled
their membership due to very unprofessional behavior.
Worst customer service.

We came from Kelowna to stay in Vancouver and this gym was very pleasant.

A bit on the smaller size but very clean and the staff was extremely friendly.

I absolutely love this gym.

The equipment and building is always clean and working.
Music is great and never too loud.
They have everything I've needed as far as equipment is concerned.
All the staff is nice and has remembered my name in the past, even though I always forget theirs.
Everyone that works there is obviously knowledgeable about fitness and can answer any questions you may have.
I haven't used the personal training services but I often see the personal trainers working with clients while I'm at the gym and they are doing a good job as far as I can tell.

I'm moving soon and I'm very sad to have to leave this gym behind because this location has set the standard for me.

Anytime Fitness Metrotown Royal Oak is an awesome gym, it is spacious, bright and all of the members are very respectful & conscientious of sharing the equipment; I am part of the 4: 00 am morning crowd and can assure you the gym gets clean everyday. All the staff and personal trainers are great. My favorite area of the gym and selling point is the functional fitness area ; they have sandbags, kettlebells, battle ropes, tires, sled, power racks, bumpers plates, etc. They also have the standard machines, free weights, racks and cardio area; I highly recommend this gym ️

Texted/ emailed a guy who works here named “Von” to ask some information before I signed up for a membership and he immediately stopped texting back after I asked about how long the contract is and how much the “cancelation” fee for terminating the “contract. ”Beware before signing up with these guys!

If this is your only option for a gym, Anytime fitness is fine. However, it is FAR too busy from 2-10pm, and during those busy times, almost every single station is being occupied by someone for 45+ minutes. It isn't very fun planning on an arms + chest day only to not be able to get a bench for an hour. If you workout in the morning, noon, or in the middle of the night. It's not too bad.

There is very little space if you plan on doing any dumbell exercies as the two dedicated stations to do are again always occupied. Also you can't have a gym bag on the floor with you which is incredibly frustrating if you want to use straps, belts or chalk, or any other equipment from home.

Anytime fitness really fails to create a proper community that you may find at a smaller local gym. The pricing is expensive and with year long hard to cancel contracts. If you do end up joining this gym and disliking it, within the first ten days thanks to provincial consumer protection laws you can get all your money back.

Gym: Clean, safe, easy access.
Staff: Friendly, love their job, welcoming, and easily approachable.
Patrons: Between 12pm-2pm, the people working out are nice, friendly, and follow COVID-19 rules.

I recommend this gym to everyone.

I love coming to this location! It is very clean and staffs are super friendly! I have already recommended my friends to join!

Pricing is jacked up during covid. No monthly payments anymore. Just bi-weekly payments. Overall generally pretty crowded from 4 to 9ish pm. Unsure of AM schedule. Equipment is quite standard and decently sized area.
Still a great gym, was kinda hoping they won't raise prices but then again COVID right? (bring back the monthly payments maybe?). Also great for night workouts (less people)!

Really good equipment and machinery, friendly staff as well. But the two major flaws is the small space and the limit of just 28 people inside, as seen in the picture, is a mandate due lack of fire exits. So until they fix this, this is just a mini gym.

The (fairly) new location is very spacious and clean ️ The studio has lots of equipment available. Nice vibes would recommend

Equipment is new and well maintained. Very clean atmosphere. Bathrooms are always clean. Good location, right next to Buy Low. The staff at this location are all very friendly and professional. They did a great job staying organized and enforcing regulations around covid and social distancing. There is always plenty of disinfectant and sanitizing wipes available and the staff are very encouraging of safety and protocol.

I'm new to the area and I was looking for a gym that i felt safe to be in especially with Covid. Anytime Fitness is where I decided to get my membership!
I checked out a few gyms and this gym by far stood out in terms of cleanliness with covid protocals as well as the staff. I walked in and the gym was spotless and looked great. The staff here are easy to talk too and welcoming. Von helped me and he walked me through the whole process and answered all my questions with passion and care. Amazing selection of equipment as well!:)

This is a great gym and location. Everything is cleaned on the regular basis. Staff and trainers are super cool! Highly recommended.

Edit! The new location is amazing. Love it! It gets pretty busy now but the equipment is up to date and clean.

Awesome gym. Started coming here from the Richmond location and the new renovated location is great! Free lockers, showers and lots of new equipment and toys. Staff is very friendly and helpful and frequently cleans equipment. I definitely feel safe and effective at this gym. Planning to come here for a long time! Recommend for anyone whos looking for a nice convenient option and a great fitness community.

Staff was very friendly. And the facilities were great and clean, new equipments as well! Lots of squat racks compared to most gyms. Thanks to one of the personal trainers Von for helping me out with ny program as a beginner!

This place really had a glowup, it went from grime to prime. I used to have to wait to use the 2 squats racks, now that there's SIX there's always room. Oh also Vons pretty cool too, he's got massive arms. He should drop his routine.

Great atmosphere and staff members are very friendly. They have followed the COVID protocol exceptionally.

Great prices, big space with tons of different stations and machines to workout and easy parking. I recommend this gym to anybody looking to switch gyms or getting into working out.

Anytime fitness Royal Oak is a great gym. It's a big one so social distancing is very possible. They provide wipes to clean out the equipments! I like every part of this gym. Having 6 power racks is a heaven for me cuz I don't have to wait.

The only thing I don't really enjoy is the lighting in the bathrooms lol. The old metro branch had better bathroom lighting. Beside this fact, all good 100%.

I am happy with the price too:)
