Aphrodite's Organic Cafe

Ok. Trying not to be cranky about it. It wasn't awful - just disappointing. Great host check in - everyone asked if we were taken care of at door. Sat quickly. Nice atmosphere. Pleasant staff. Food took over 35 - 40 mins to get to us (wasn't busy) / was small, not hot. My benny special wasn't as described. I got one v.small portobello mushroom (+ splash of spinach) centered under 2 eggs when it was described as the portobellos took place of the english muffins - I expected 2 big mushrooms - so I left hungry. I asked for lemon for our waters (2 of us) and got 1 (slightly slimy) thin slice. That said - was good quality in general - way better than an average cafe - just very pricey. $80 for lunch; A smoothie - shared, (tasty but small), 2 lunches. Apparently the pies are fab.

Lovely food, our meals were ready quickly and were delicious. Very friendly to people with specific dietary needs!

Nothing to complain about other than price. The food was very tasty and if you're a stickler for organic food im sure this place would appeal even more to you. Cute cafe with nice staff.

Food is incredible and very real to see a restaurant that focuses so much on high quality organic ingredients and their effort really shows with all their amazing food and not only that the service was great. Was also fortunate enough to speak with owner who is very passionate and told me how to order fresh food daily to minimize food waste and to make sure everything is always fresh.

Usually we really love going, the servers are always super friendly, good coffee and great food.

We came in today and ordered bennys, one bacon Benny and one vegetarian Benn, when the dishes arrived they were two bacon bennys. All good, I let them know and shortly they returned with the Benny. However, it was quite obvious that they had just taken the bacon off the plate (I am not vegetarian but if I was I imagine I would not be stoked - they did not know I was not vegetarian however). They simply added Brie under the eggs from the previous dish.

The Benny I had ordered was supposed to have Brie, arugula, red onion jam, avocado… you get the picture and served on tomatoes.

What I received was served on potatoes, they added Brie and there was salsa randomly on top. There was no arugula, no relish, no avocado… It was VERY obvious that they literally did pretty much nothing to serve me the dish I ordered, except add Brie. Even my partners Benny, did not come with some of the items mentioned on the menu. It is totally fine if you run out of ingredients, but just communicate this to your paying customer:)

I didn’t say anything, I usually prefer not to send something back to the kitchen twice (especially when they are handling your food), however it was not cool what they did. We noticed and were not very pleased.

Fabulous food! They were easily able to accommodate my gluten free requests (celiac) I had the bacon, tomato, arugula sandwich on (gf bread of course) SO good, probably the best bacon I've ever tasted!

Best pies in town! Drinks are really good too! I loved the ambience. Overall great experience. Definitely going back again!

This used to be a favourite spot but under the new ownership we were extremely disappointed! We waited for an hour and twenty minutes for our meals while we watched a steady stream of Door Dash deliveries going out! In the end I looked up a door dash delivery and it said 31 minutes! They need to put the in house customers first!

Normally a 5, but since I've been unable to order from the the last handful of attempts I've tried the past few weeks, it has become a 3. They're too busy, and not open Mon and Tues.

If you have time to dine-in, great. If not, good luck. Phone sometimes seems off the hook, and online order attempts have a countdown timer as you wait for them to confirm it, but after waiting a few minutes you get a message saying they didn't process it. So, as it has been for about a month, time to get lunch elsewhere.

If it is too busy inside and can't accommodate more, just shut down online and phone orders until it's possible again. Having to navigate the site and wait for them to confirm is a waste of time when it is just false hopes

Delicious food and great service. It was our first day in Vancouver so we had a mamosa with breakfast too! Huge serving size and everything was fresh and organic. Patio was very nice.

Food was great, but the 40 minute wait for the food to arrive made the dining experience horrible. If your in a rush avoid at all cost.

Nothing special and a very basic cafe. Their apple pie was very disappointing. Definitely not worth the price for such a small portion and something I’d be able to get at a supermarket for a cheaper price, bigger size and same taste.

One of our favourite places for organic and locally sourced food. The brunch menu is excellent and super delicious! Their salmon benny is also excellent. We make it a point to eat here every time we are in the neighborhood. Very friendly staff and great service!

The food is always delicious and the service is amazing! I would LOVE for them to bring back their lasagna they had a few years ago but I'll still keep coming back if not!

This place is pure sunshine. The staff were so cheerful and awesome! The food was incredible! I had the Jericho Toast and it was delicious. Will be back again!

Absolutely love this place! Organic, quality and delicious! Friendly service with a ton of options for a fair price and nice atmosphere. Best breakfast around!

My wife and I had lunch today here. I ordered the green egg & ham, my wife ordered the ham & egger. The food came and it was lovely, everything was going fine at first. The food, as always, tasted good.

Mid way through our meal, I found a staple in my egg omelet. I immediately let our server know. She apologized and offered to waive that item from our bill. The kitchen also re-made my egg omelet for me. The situation was resolved, and I was happy to resume my meal.

When we finished our meal, our server brought over the bill and we found out that instead of waiving the item from our bill, they were giving us 10% off instead. I felt surprised but said nothing, my wife paid the bill and we left.

We were confused and disappointed since there was clearly a communication issue here. This was likely a decision from the restaurant management. In any event, we felt we were owed an explanation that was never given.

Ordered food from them it came cold as ice, they didn't follow instructions either. I called them to address the issue, the person who picked up did not speak English, I could barely understand the chinese accent. I will never order from this place again. Total disaster, it ruined my mood for the rest of the day.

As always, what a wonderful brunch.

Their benedicts are large, soul-warming, deliciously scrumptious plates of perfection.

I personally add avocado to my back bacon benny, and I also added a sausage this time as I was super hungry!

Great service. Oh and if you're sitting outside and it's cold, they'll give you a blanket

Haven’t been before and we were excited to try. We got take out. $36 for two small portioned mediocre dishes.

Im not sure if it’s just a take out thing… but these portion sizes were pathetic given how much it cost!

My partner ordered the Glen Valley breakfast. I ordered the Spanish Banks Burrito. Her order was small for $18! Two fried eggs as it says. No seasoning. Three fork fulls of potatoes and a small salad with no dressing. My burrito was small. I would pay $9 for that… not $18.

All in all, we could make this at home far better than what we had gotten.
I don’t know that we’ll be coming back… pretty disappointed.

Yummy. Had the season cranberry apple pie. Crust was the rich crumbly kind, not the flaky kind. Really enjoy the rich foam on my latte bowl as well.

This is my favourite place to go in Kitsilano, the atmosphere is top tier! I highly recommend the soup, always leave here feeling happy and full ️

Had the Smoked Salmon Benny - probably the best I have ever had. Too bad they don't pan fry their hashbrowns, as they are always best a little crispy. The hashbrowns here are soft, you could almost mash them up, but the delicious benny made up for that. I added a Bison sausage, which is on top the hashbrowns.

Friendly staff, clean place and spacious.

Not cheap here, but you get what you pay for.

I'll be back again and again, as they do a nice job with the breakfast here. Actually I have only eaten breaky here.

I love Aphrodite’s! I’ve been going here frequently for about two years now and I’ve never had a bad experience. The food is bomb and they always cater to my dietary restrictions (HUGE PLUS for me). I also love the boho down to earth vibe. The girls that work here are super sweet too.

Lovely casual spot, perfect for a light fresh lunch. Housemade salmon salad was terrific. Interesting fruit juice mocktails. Friendly service.

Always love visiting this place when we are in Vancouver. The atmosphere is fun and they have a great menu. Never had a bad meal or service!

I've been wanting to try this place for ages and so glad I finally did. Great brunch place with an excellent organic menu. Delicious fresh food. A big YES from me! Can't wait to go again. And also a delightful range of Gluten Free options to for my partner. Beautiful patio spaces. YES, YES, YES!

The food was good. But service wasn't. Our waitress (white lady in her 50s) made a snarky comment at my girlfriend when she accidentally dropped her fork. Then gave us attitude later complaining about the tip she received. Although we enjoyed the food we'll never come here again after the entitled attitude we received.

The forced tipping culture here is really weird. Don’t tip? You’ll get followed by the waitress who is underpaid by the owner.
Sure, blame it on the customer.

One of my favourite places for organic, fair trade, locally sourced food. The brunch menu is outstanding and much delicious! It's close to Jericho beach and other local Vancouver beaches. Friendly staff and wonderful service!

The BEST Salmon Benny I have ever had! It came with a lovely salad, amazing dressing and delicious potatoes. Even the ketchup was EPPic!

I personally would not recommend this cafe there was a maggot in my arugula. I also witnessed one of the wait staff picking their bum and then serve an elderly woman her fritatata. Shameful.

Should probably pay your staff more so they don’t ask why they weren’t tipped. Tipping is OPTIONAL

I waited 5 minutes to be seated while the waiter wasted time talking about politics with 3 guests. He made eye contact with me multiple times but proceeded to check on other customers that were seated. The place was not busy whatsoever. I clearly read the sign asking customers to be patient because of shortage of staff. I decided to go inside and ask the person in charge if I could have a menu while I wait and he said "you'll have to go back outside and keep waiting". He was both dismissive and defensive and I did not feel like customer service was a priority for him. On top of this Unfortunately, the tables looked dirty and many of the tables had plates with food on them which had flies. The places looked untidy. Unfortunately I decided to go somewhere else although I had already paid for 1 hour of parking.

Love the Salt Spring Island frittata with goat cheese, a perfect side salad, roast potatoes and a big slice of their fresh baked bread. Charming atmosphere for a perfect healthy brunch.

Really enjoyed my breakfast here and would recommend. Great location and very nice and friendly waitresses.

Amazing food and personal service, we are there often and it has been spot on every time! We like that it is so convenient to our practice and we love to support local businesses.

Very tasty food but the prices were excessive for the portion size. Also, part of my order was missing (I ordered delivery). They were quite pleasant about it when I called to note the order was incomplete, and offered to make restitution the next time I order but, sadly, the poor value precludes me from ever ordering from this cafe again.

Well here's a little gem near the shore (5 min walk)! Good food, non-dairy options, great relaxed vibe, the perfect place to come with a friend! Following guidelines for these Covid times as well. I highly recommend!

Ordered a Turkey Pot Pie & Coconut Cream pie today. They were tasty! Unfortunately, both my wife & I got food poisoning after eating them. Was a bit concerned about the hygiene of the store when I arrived. Now I know.

The food is vibrant, beautiful and very tasty! It was a little more pricey at ~$22 for my eggs benny with bacon but you do get a lot of food and everything looks very fresh and house made. Only thing i thought was kind of weird was the bacon was placed in between the two bennies where's normally its placed under the egg. Not a big deal at all though! Everything still tasted amazing and my sister enjoyed her Jericho Toast as well.

The food quality here is amazing! They support local farmers. If you eat meat try their elk and bison sausages! Also their bread is made in house and is delicious!

Wonderful restaurant. I just wish I could order it for lunch AND dinner! Wish it was open a little bit later. On Uber eats/any other platform it's one of the only organic options. Great place though, online or in person.

Please consider being open for dinner! At least for online orders. Would have loved to order some today.

It pains me to write a marginal review of Aphrodites Cafe. This place was amazing, years ago before they moved their dining into the venue across from their original pie shop. The new location has never had a 1/4 of the charm the original venue had. On top of this, although all lovely folk that work here, service can be very hit or miss. If you are ordering out, pay very close attention to ensure your order is correct as more times than not, our orders have missed one or more items. This place is great but very disorganized and uneven service over the past few years.

Yummy pies! I used to come here after school to study a bit and eat pies. The cafe is very nice and the workers are friendly. My sister bought two pies from Aphrodite’s yesterday and we loved it! I will say though that the prices are too high.

Our order came missing ingredients and utensils. I ordered the breakfast wrap with tofu and it came missing the tofu. The eggs weren't adequately scrambled - more like an omelette rolled into a wrap on a bed of spinach. The side of potatoes came with about 5x1" cubes of potatoes and were cold by the time I got to eat them because we had to search for utensils. 5 pieces of cubed potatoes - that's it.

For the price I was completely underwhelmed and would not order or visit here again.

This is hands down the best pie I have ever had. It is a bit on the high side for price, but worth every bite.

First time at Aphrodite’s and it surely won’t be the last! Beautiful and fresh produce on their sandwiches and the bread was homemade. Make sure you save room for the pie as the strawberry rhubarb was divine!

The flavours here were beautiful and all organic. I spent more than normal but a bargain at twice the price. All food is sourced locally and it is a treat to go.

I was here 2 months ago and had a great experience, great tasting food and very good service. But the second visit this morning was a real let down. The food was tasteless, the fried potatoes were a disgrace-clearly soggy refried leftovers. For the pricey menu that they have, I do expect a lot more than this. Sorely disappointed.

Every single time I’m in Vancouver, I come here. The wild mushroom quiche and chocolate raspberry cream pie are ridiculously yummy!

Loved it. Staff were super polite - especially Jessie. So many vegan and gluten friendly options. Very warming and relaxing atmosphere. Could stay here all day!

Food is decent, Benny's are excellent. I like the ambience, it's not too loud that you cant hear your table companions.becoming a rare thing these days!

The food was okay at the best, but on the other hand the servers and staff were legendary levels of greatness. I'm torn between 3 or 4 stars, since the food was nothing you couldn't make at your own house for much less expensive (and this food is expensive.) but I enjoyed the people enough to bump it up because of their kindness.

I would actually rate Aphrodites 3.5! I did look at the menu before we went and I felt hesitant to visit. I am a farmhouse style breakfast gal! The food here didn't rock my boat! Sorry folks, that's my experience.

Very delicious and generous servings of brunch and lunch selections. We came with our appetites and patience because it takes time to make quality organic food. Very tasty. Friendly and polite service.

They serve breakfast and lunch. I love the bennys here. Order some fresh squeezed orange juice. Cream pies are awesome so keep some space to try them

My first time here. Very busy, but we weren't kept waiting. The food was great. We both had the Jericho toast, which was excellent, and the coffee refills just kept on coming. Service was prompt and very friendly without being "scripted".
We will definitely be back. 5 stars.

Aphrodite has changed a lot in the past few years. The prices have more than doubled and the quality has gone down. We spent 35$ for a rasberry rhubarb pie. The crust was gross and tasted very stale. Really disappointed.

I had the mushroom Eggs Benedict. Probably the best hollandaise sauce I've ever had. The price was $20, which was a bit pricier than I expected, but I feel it was worth it in this case, as it is a step above what I've had elsewhere. I'll be back to have it again soon. Service was excellent.

We had lazy Sunday brunch here.
The menu has your standard brunch fare but with some great healthy options.
The Signature breakfast and eggs benny were chosen.
Hearty portions left us all pleasantly full
They have nice little patio when the weather is nice.
Service was friendly and helpful in making recommendations.
