It was the luck of the draw that I was assigned Kezia Dawes when I called Arbutus Physio. I thought I had “knitter’s elbow! ”. But after a thorough examination she ascertained it was not. I was impressed that she took the time to explain to me what “we” had to do to get back on track. Yes, I had homework! If you are looking for a physiotherapist ask for Kezia.you can’t go wrong - she’s awesome

Madi was excellent. She did an assessment, did some manipulations etc, explained diagnosis, gave me written assessment and exercise plan and plan to go forward. This was all done in a professional but friendly manner. She was not judgemental which I have in previous experiences with physios. She is also young which I prefer since she is up to date on latest research and techniques.

Kezia is amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable and cares about client care. You couldn't find a better therapist!

Thomas Zhou did an excellent diagnostic and gave very clear explanations what was happening and what treatment I required. Still at the beginning of the journey, but so far way above and beyond any Physio I've seen before.

Great, knowledge staff from the front desk staff to my terrific Vizio Margaret Trahan. Margaret is thorough, experienced and effective. She spends the time needed to assess, treat and educate. I'm so glad I found her and Arbutus physio.

I went to this clinic for the first time recently. Emily Jackson was so friendly, welcoming and easy to talk to. She is very knowledgeable and took the time to ensure I understood everything about my injury, as well as thoroughly explained how to move forward with my healing plan. Her and I even shared some laughs which is always nice. I look forward to continuing to work with Emily and highly recommend her.:)

I have been going to Arbutus Physio for 7 years and have always been impressed with my treatments. I went to Ashley until last year when she went on maternity leave. Then I met Conner. I was sure no one could be as good as Ashley but I have been proven wrong. A very engaging young man with just the right mixture of friendly and professional. His treatments have been right for me.

Great experience with Mike for lactate testing and gait analysis! I feel 100% confident that this will make a huge difference to my training. I especially appreciated Mike's suggestion (arising from the gait analysis) for different shoes. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable, interesting, and valuable experience!

Connor Willis tho. Truly tunes into what you're saying to hone in on issue. I haven't been cured of my chronic neck issue, but I've only gone once so far. Looking forward to more treatments.

Dr. McQueen was excellent with my 16 year old daughter. She explained everything in detail and was very thorough. Highly recommended.

She has a friendly nature and a positive attitude. She is very knowledgeable and is quick to diagnose the problem and come up with a plan that will lead you on the road to recovery.
With a combination of treatments in the clinic and an exercise program to do at home she has helped me to get moving again.

Update: January 2022

I just finished my mid January visit with James.
New Year. New Gear. Together we have achieved so much. I’m increasingly optimistic and I have a more positive outlook for my future.

My back injury is complex. Almost like a rubik’s cube. Essentially we are treating multiple conditions in several areas and it’s all happening at the same time. And keep in mind when I first met James I could barely walk. Now I walk short distances several times a day. I’m happy and able to spend time with friends & family. I even went to a movie the other night. Working with James improves my quality of life as well as my mobility. The level of engagement. The support and the follow up is exactly what I need and it’s paying off in so many ways. For me, it really is a happy new year. Thanks James Lobb!

November 2021

James Lobb has enabled me to go from feeling “ helpless” to HOPEFUL! A workplace injury left me unable to walk for over two weeks. After several months with other therapists I achieved very little progress in my mobility. After my initial assessment James works with me collaborating on our next best steps together.
After 8 visits, I am now able to walk. Attend to my own self care. My appetite is improved and I sleep well at night. I could not ask for a better The incredible “deadbolt” like pain mid back is down to a dull roar. My lower back pain is also reduced effectively. I’m able to make simple meals. Walk extended distances (slowly) and enjoy a larger social circle. I even went to a movie. The greatest reward is the ability to sleep.

Highly recommended! Professional, effective treatment with a smile! Emily is helping me on my way to recovery.

Have been to many physio’s. Most of them come in hook you to a machine, leave you alone. Then boot you out the door. But not before charging you an arm and a leg! Arbutus physiotherapy is not that! There staff actually care, and want to see you improve your injury’s. I always look forward to my appointments, even if it is gonna be IMS or Shockwave. I can’t say enough good stuff about this clinic. See for yourself!

I have been seeing Dr. Mcqueen for years now. I continue to see her because she listens to me throughly unlike other medical doctors I have seen. She has a good and concise approach to health. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs guidance on their overall well being.

Arbutus Physiotherapy & Health Centre has a very clean uncluttered look which adds to calm one when they enter this establishment. The people who work there are all professional, pleasant and eager to listen and help.
My visits with Sandy are encouraging as when I finish my sessions with her my body always feels so much better. She has her clients participate in getting better by giving us exercises to do to get us back to health faster. Sandy keeps up with what is new in her field and implements these ideas. I feel very fortunate to have a professional with years of experience and exceptional clinical skills like Sandy to keep me mobile in my later years.

Lena is an awesome physiotherapist. Mighty smart to me:) I was experiencing so much pain near the upper right ribcage and was told that I had arthritis and that there was not much that can be done! So I was skeptical going for physiotherapy treatments. But after meeting Lena the first time, I felt optimist right away. Lena was so thorough with her explanations, just the way I like it or expect it from a healthcare provider. Here is the problem, here is what we will do. No nonsense or waste of time!

Lena had a plan and timeline at the end of the session and that gave me more confidence and assurance. Lena was also gentle, kind, easy to talk to and listened to my other concerns as well. I never felt judge in any ways. Her positive and high energy were contagious! I always left the clinic lifted with positivity which was an extra bonus from seeing Lena:)

During our treatment time, we also worked on my shoulder, hamstring and chest/pectoral which were old and new injuries. Lena prescribed practical and pertinent exercises, the part I least enjoyed lol but I kept doing them and after a certain time they truly worked and my pains were gone or more negotiable! Today was my last session! I kind of wish inside that the pains were still there so I can see Lena again! Truly, I don’t wish to get new injuries anytime soon but if it happens, I know I can count on Lena to fix them!

Seeking physio for a broken bone, I was entirely wowed by the initial assessment and treatment I received from Maciek Krolikowski, who was thorough, deeply knowledgeable, and warmly welcoming. He has a system set up that lets me follow along with his recommendations by downloading videos to my phone that demonstrate how to perform the exercises he recommends. He has put forward a clear and helpfully precise treatment plan for my recovery. The Arbutus Centre is also very efficient, with its online booking system, pleasant treatment rooms, and clear health (Covid-19) policies. All in all, an excellent experience and highly recommended.

Over the course of two years, I have been seen by both James and Sandy. Both are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their fields. Can’t thank them enough for their help in getting me back up and running.

My experience with Arbutus physiotherapy has been great. I am getting good, highly specific exercises from Connor not just in strengthening and healing but also in breathing and dealing with the stress that exacerbates the pain of my injury. I highly recommend using this clinic! The staff are very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and professional! Andrew Mills is an excellent therapist if you need relief from vertigo! I’ve been going to see him since he originally diagnosed me with BPPV vertigo in 2015. He has excellent bedside manner. He is also very knowledgeable and very thorough in determining what type of vertigo you have. His treatment is very effective! He has also taught me how to do the Epply Maneuver and it’s worked for me at home.

Sandy Wilson I have found to be, over the years, a brilliant Physiotherapist and a dynamic individual. Her years of experience and knowledge make her an excellent Diagnostician. I have always had successful resolutions to all my issues after sessions with her. She is not static in her knowledge and business acumen and seems to be able to adapt to any changes that are presented. She is also quite an inspiration with her lifestyle choices and her continued adherence to good health principles. Sandy does not preach she just exemplifies what is possible if an effort is made. I would not hesitate to recommend Sandy!

I am so impressed with my experience at Arbutus. In a very short amount of time, Maciek has been able to turn around some foot pain that has been causing me a lot of discomfort and anxiety since late July. I have never had physiotherapy before, and wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm so happy with how it has worked out for me, and that I can now walk without my foot seizing every few minutes! Maciek is personable, professional, and clearly knows his stuff! Thanks again!

As with my entire experience with the Arbutus Physio - thorough, knowledgeable, and highly skilled care. The only shortfall is that cloning technology has not advanced enough to permit replication of Kristen, Sandy, and the other team members.
