I purchased a diamond ring from Arctic Diamonds along with a lifetime warranty in 2019. The ring is made of 10k gold and I brought it in for regular check-ups and cleaning every six months. I also was not even wearing it for two years due to pregnancy and postpartum however that doesn’t matter. I noticed that the yellow gold on the band and outer halo was "rubbing off".

I brought it in and was offered a replacement in store credit, but they didn't have a selection I liked. I was sent to MetroTown to look for a new ring and finally found one I liked, but was told I would need to pay extra and get an additional protection plan even though both rings were regular same price but I didn’t get mine on a slightly bigger “promotion”. Then, I found the exact same ring in 14k vs 10 gold at a local jeweler for $2,000 less regular price than Arctic Diamonds. Which means I would be saving money. I put a hold on that ring and asked for a refund as it didn’t make sense to go with them.

Meanwhile, the goldsmith called the store about my original ring and said that it was white gold, not yellow. I had to explain again that the bands and outer halo were yellow gold and "wearing" off. I texted/emailed her lots of pictures and talked to the store. Including photos of the original and the copy they had at Metrotown. He/she checked again and said they would fix it. I was told they had a double of my exact ring and knew what it should look like. I never wanted any changes just what I originally got!

I was told my ring was in and it’s perfect mid week. I was supposed to get a call Saturday after I asked for a photo and it looked off, I didn’t get a call so I went in Sunday, the manager was off, and I saw what happened to the ring…When I saw my ring, it was completely different and now completely yellow gold, including the setting and quad. I tried calling and emailing the store, but received no response. Head office also didn't seem to care and only sent an email saying "sorry your experience didn't meet your expectations" and that the manager is the one dealing with it. Twice Monday morning I called the store, the phone was picked up and hung up. I called a third time a hour later and spoke to someone who said that only the manager, Amrit, was allowed to help me and that she was busy which is why.

This whole ordeal has been a mess and no one seems to care and is unprofessional. My ring is still sitting there, completely different and I have not heard back from anyone. When I got my ring service was great, after that it’s an absolute nightmare and such a headache. The ring I got was completely different than originally purchased. Not to mention the decrease in quality and durability from getting “fixed” and possibly fixed again. Attached are photos of my original ring, the issue with gold band and the fixed version.

EDITED REPLY- thanks for getting back to me on a review. I have emailed, and called and still no one has gotten back to me and my ring is still at willowbrook. I’m not sure how you can’t see but my original ring had white prongs around diamonds and quad shown in photo 1. The banding is yellow shown in photo 2&3. I’m not a gold smith but that looks like discolouration to me. Looking at the photos and comparing you should see it’s different. Again, I would like to be contacted as no one has contacted me yet except your reply on this review and my ring is still there.

Bought a 14k gold band with diamond channel set. No maker's stamp or gold standard stamp in the ring and the so called 14k gold ring is subpar, looks more like 10k or 9k.

Please see photos for comparison with my 14k gold ring and a 10k gold earring loop. The 10k ear ring has better gold tone than the ring from Artic Fame. Nice ring overall but unhappy with the practice.

We've been customers of Arctic Diamond for a number of years. The staff there are knowledgeable, helpful, no pressure sales tactics and always friendly.

They are willing to help you find whatever you're looking for. Always at a great price point. Their layaway plan is awesome and they always have great sales.

Once again Donna and the team at Arctic Diamond have surprised me and gone above and beyond.

We bought my wedding set 3 years ago and this year we wanted to add a 3rd ring to it. There wasn't one that went with the original set but they designed one. I'm in absolute awe. I never would have imagined that it would complete the set so dramatically. I find myself looking at it all the time.

Everything's great buying the jewelry, until you need something fixed. I bought a lifetime warranty for 200 plus tax and at no time was anything mentioned about needing to "check in" every 6 months to keep it valid. Now all of a sudden my 200$ disappears and they claim the warranty is invalid. We live more than an hour away from the nearest location and still they void my warranty and now my wife's ring is missing a diamond.

Watch out if you buy from here and especially if you get the warranty, they obviously don't care about taking care of the jewelry or clients. They just want your 200.

Also the lady I spoke with tried to reason saying it's like insurance you have to do it every year or so. However it's not insurance, it's a warranty, like on electronics. You have it if something breaks down. What an absolutely atrocious bit of service.

Amrit at the Langley (Willowbrook) store has been an absolute gem to work with! She helped us recreate an idea that I had for resetting my original diamond engagement ring as well as a new wedding band to go with it. She listened to my ideas attentively, offered suggestions based on her expert experience, helped draft out a digital image of my ideas, and guided us with great care and consideration. She was patient with us, allowed us to comfortably think through our options, answering all our questions, and clarifying whatever she was not sure of along the way. From the moment I entered Artic Fame Diamond, I was greeted with a warm welcome. In a day and age where customer service doesn't exist. Donna the sales associate excelled at what she does.
