The food was amazing! Our food came very quickly and the restaurant atmosphere was very relaxing:) Definitely coming back here again!

The server was extremely nice and even had a full on conversation about my friend’s hand sanitizer

Of course the food is great as always! I love their bento lunch boxes! SO affordable and great portions! Will be coming back again!

My husband and I like takeout from this place. The spicy salmon sashimi and nigiri pieces are fantastic. Combos are affordable and ready quite quickly. Convenient website for online orders.

Amazing quality for the price point! Menu is fairly standard, but every item we got was flavorful, fresh, and dynamic. They have some incredible dishes that are fun to share with others. The Mango tower, Lunch box, and Voltex roll were my favorite!

Excellent wild salmon sashimi. I got two orders. Generous slices of fish and very fresh. It's unbelievable that one order is $7 cheaper than another place across the street! Talk about a good deal. Bravo

Recently renovated, Oct 2023. The location is very nice, window seat facing busy street with traffic lights. The food and price are reasonably matched. But the big disappointment is a hair was found in the shrimp tempura that comes with the yaki udon! The waitress apologized 3 times and didn’t charged that item. Most likely won’t be back for a while….

Great experience! My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch and our waitress was super nice. It was a warm sunny day and we enjoyed sitting by the open windows. Food came out fast and tasted perfect! Tuna and Salmon were noticeably fresh and perfectly cut. Salmon Teriyaki was amazing as well. Very good place for sushi lovers. I sincerely appreciate restaurants that maintain their fish well. Would go back anytime

Ordered takeout by phone.sushi itself was pretty good but very slow customer service.their card machine was not working for another customer but i told the girl i was paying in cash but she told me to wait.i ended up waiting for 15 minutes to pay for my order.

Really good rolls! The rice to topping ratio is perfect. Value is really good too. I often crave the tataki roll super delicious.

Our pickup order was ready in a timely manner. Everything was packed well and the sushi was tasty! Would definitely order again from here.

Unique rolls are addictive and bursting in flavour! Sashimi and nigiri options are slightly limited but the quality is nevertheless very fresh and the prices won't put a dent in your wallet.

Here is a good place, I eat dinner with my best Japanese friend here. Then she went back to Japan. Here food is cheap but yummy. Just service is soso, we try to speak Japanese with them, I think they can't understand. Maybe they all forget them language, goodbye, my friend …………

This is a charming local hidden gem! I tried their sashimi, it was great. The service is super friendly.

What an amazing experience! This is my first time visiting here. The sushi is great, and it'll likely be some of the best sushi you'll have in Vancouver. I had high quality “Seafood-Udon” shown in the pictures, and it was more than enough for dinner.

The tuna was very soft, as well as the hamachi, which are the best sashimi on the assorted plate by far. Recommend getting rolls with normal salmon and tuna.

This is the best place in the neighbourhood to grab a bite. My family and I love coming here. I keep coming back again and again because the crew are courteous and the cuisine they cook is seriously so tasty. I am always happy to have a good meal in this restaurant. Highly recommend.

It's cozy inside and unpretentious. Generous portions and very yummy sushi. Lovely servers make all the difference in the dining experience. Parking can be a little bit hard to find but it's easily accessible by public transit. I recommended to many friends and they always have good experiences

Love the spicy soft tofu soup. Between seafood and beef I prefer the seafood option a little more.
Salmon Oshi was so tasty and seared to perfection. I even got a roll and extra oshi to go. Bravo Asa!

Staff are always friendly, service is incredibly fast, and the menu has a ton of variety to choose from. Interior is nice and cozy, if not a bit small. Sushi is solid and Korean dishes are great too! The combos, and especially the lunch combos, are definitely the best bang for your buck.

Ordered delivery, got the yam tempura and there was a large hole in the takeout box and the food was cold. I don’t know how someone there didn’t notice. Don’t eat here!

We just moved to the area and tried ASA Sushi for the first time. The customer service is great and the food is delicious! Will definitely be back:)

1) Went to their website for the menu. Picked out what I want. But can't find half my order on the online ordering menu. Turns out that menu is out of date according to the staff. Annoying

2) Their online menu doesn't provide descriptions for some of the items. How am I supposed to know what is in the roll!?

3) After picking up, when I open the bag at home there was no chopsticks or soy sauce

4) The sushi was decent

Another wonderful meal at Asa. The entire family dined here on Saturday.
Vaccine cards were properly checked before being seated. The sushi was just great. Kirin beer went down very well. Everyone ate their fill and left very satisfied.

The sushi here is a bit pricier but that is most definitely reflected in the quality of the sushi. It is absolutely delicious, all the ingredients feel super fresh and premium, and I love their speciality rolls. Highly recommend.

I frequently stop here on my way back home.
Staff are friendly and the food is amazing.
My favourites are the rocky mountain roll and
salmon oshi. Udon dishes are also really good

I know it’s hard to keep a business. The food and portion are great as before Covid-19. The service is going downhill so fast so bad. I didn’t get tea until I made the order. Like 6 minutes or longer. Then I asked for refills, they filled too much that I cannot hold it and drink. Plus I enjoy their chatting while not serving. I feel like I’m not eating only. Feel sorry for the owner

This is one of our go-to take out places. Always great quality food, presented well, good portions for the price. Chirashi don and salmon pressed sushi are some of our favs.

Food is reasonably priced. I was surprised to see that the Beef Don had a lot of beef and the sauce was just right without being too sweet. Appetizer tempura was crispy and fresh. Rolls and sashimi were fantastic as expected.

Fantastic lunch special! Not a ridiculous amount of food, and great value too. The sushi is delicious, and I enjoyed the teriyaki dish a lot!

There are some Japanese restaurants in Kerrisdale on the W 41st Ave. Asa Sushi was one of them I often walked past. It is a sushi and raw bar with nice wooden interior and exterior deco.

I went here for lunch with a very hungry stomach so I decided to order Lunch Combo C. The combo came with Dynamite Roll (you can choose other rolls), tempura, nigiri sushi, salad, fried gyoza, pickle and miso soup. The portion was large and stomach filling. It costs $15.95 but surely you would get the value for money.

The servers are attentive and polite. The tables were cleaned properly after the guests left the table. I will have beer if I come for dinner next time. This is a Japanese restaurant you can have beer and enjoy a good meal with friends after a long day work.

I did take out and it was a lot faster then I expected. They were nice and the food was delicious! As a vegan it can be hard to find many options, but this place worked great! Definitely planning on going back.

Today ordered “creasy girl” and salmon tuna sashimi. I took home and fund, the sashimi was very small ang thin pieces. Creasy girl roll was like California roll. That’s too bad. That’s cheating

I would give them a four stars coz I used to go there pretty often but the quality of food and taste changes every time, not in a stable quality. Food is ok. Service is not very good, always have to ask for tea EVERY Time we go. The space there is not big so the server always rush and bump into your chair or table here and there which is very disturbing. Not sure how they set the place during pandemic tho.

Ordered take out and the sushi was fresh and the food was ready at the time they quoted. A little bit on the expensive side but it’s to be expected for a place right in kerrisdale.

Amazing sushi and great service. Sashimi is thick and fresh, talk about good value! Sockeye Salmon Oshi is awesome and the jalepeño on top is spicy just the way I like it. Voltex Roll is my favourite roll and the seared spicy tuna topping is ridiculously good. Take out orders are handed over at the front window so there's no need to go inside. Already looking forward to the next visit!

Ordered from Asa Sushi through Uber eats. Order was missing one of the main dishes, Salmon Oshi. Checked email receipt, we were charged so called restaurant and got answering machine. Left message but they didn’t call back or deliver or refund the item. Never heard back from them. What food we did receive was mediocre.

I think the chef's here do an excellent job with the tools they are given: really well made chicken teriyaki, karaage, the specialty vegetarian rolls are interesting and delicious, and I think the aburi sushi is perfect. Where I'm disappointed is in the quality of the ingredients. The tuna is see through and white, the salmon is fibrous, and the shrimp is big, but quite flavourless. Still my number one choice if I'm walking to pick up.

Below average sushi. Not very fresh, rice was cold. Large rolls and nice presentation with friendly service. Nigiri sushi was dry and also looked/tasted like it was made in advance. Disappointing.

My top spot for Japanese food. Great spot for an appetite of any size. Wonderful customer service, quick and friendly. This place has a great system in place for the pandemic. We'll definitely go back.

I ordered on DoorDash and it one of my favorite sushi I have had in Vancouver. I will be going to the restaurant one day soon to dine in!

We have lived in Vancouver for 16 years and eaten at many Japanese restaurants. Asa Sushi is THE BEST Japanese restaurant in all of Vancouver. The raw tuna and salmon consistently taste fantastic. Their Udon noodles dishes are superb. Everything they make tastes great. And their prices are excellent. Terrific value!

Update: I have since gone back during less busy hours, and been impressed with their new COVID safe take out set up. I cannot comment on if this works during peak hours, but they have vastly improved!

They have good sushi, and its one of my favourite restaurants in Kerrisdale, but I was very disappointed with their pickup process, or total lack there of, during this COVID situation. My partner and I went to pick up our online order (granted it was a Sunday evening), and there was a huge group of people crowded on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. There was no system in place, and every time a staff member handed someone food, anyone willing to break social distancing would surge forward to try to ask what to do, and how to get their food. It got so bad some member of the public was starting to take down peoples info and try to give it to staff, to tell them who was outside waiting. They wouldn't answer their phone, so the only people getting their order were ones who would barge through the group and into the restaurant. It was a mess, with everyone breaking rules trying to find out what was happening. I'm all for supporting local business during this time, but there has to be some system for serving take out, not just having a group of 15-20 people loitering on the sidewalk trying to figure out how to get their food.

When the waiter was adding water, she dropped the glass and the water spilled over my food, but the waiter didn't say sorry, and didn't take any action.

The food was ok. We went there for a family dinner and the waitstaff completely forgot to place one of our orders. TWICE.

Very good sushi, nice and fresh. The nigiri and sockeye salmon pressed oshi were remarkable. Service was prompt and the food came out at a good pace despite them being busy. Would definitely go again.

I often go to this place because the foods are super great! Especially Soon-du-bu and Chicken yakisoba! They are amazing! I can tell the chief is really professional and knows exactly what customers want and expect!

The best sushi place in kerrisdale. I would recommend the crazy boy roll (a deep fried California roll), although everything I've had has been good. If you want to pay with debit or a credit card, make sure that you tell them when they give you the bill, otherwise it's assumed that you're paying in cash, and you'll have to wait a while for them to notice that you're not.

This place is not very good. Overpriced with small portions. Not the most friendly. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was super salty. The chefs special roll is just a glorified California roll for $15! Salmon donburi has very thin slices of salmon, basically half the amount of salmon compared to other sushi restaurants! Not leaving very full after a $45 lunch for two.

Nothing special. Prices were a little high and the rolls were small. The udon was plain with a pinch of salt.

Can't say anything amazing about the food here. The quality of everything was very minimal. The seaweed was chewy and fought against my bite. Pretty disappointed.

Fantastic food at reasonable prices! Service is very kind and efficient. Special rolls taste amazing and my favourites are the Voltex, Crazy Boy, and Gangster Chef. Of course their sushi is wonderful but their Korean dishes like the Spicy Soft Tofu Soup and Bibimbap also deserve special mentions!

ASA Lunch combo C (Crazy Boy Roll) and a Red Sun Roll. The quality was great and the flavors were well balanced. Good bang for your buck. The servers were friendly and the service was average. The restaurant itself was cozy and clean.

Asa sushi is a kerrisdale classic. I like Togo bento. They almost refused to just not put in the prawns because "no substitutions". When I explained they'd just be wasting their money because I'd throw it out anyways (and honestly, they'll save money by not putting it in), they relented. I recommend to Asa that you train your staff to take the time to listen to customers! I appreciated that they did listen eventually, it just took some explaining. The policy isn't always open and shut.

Still enjoy and will return.

I often come to Asa for dinner and get the Dinner Box. It comes out with so much food it could easily be shared by two people! Aburi sushi and sashimi included in the box taste great and I appreciate how they give customers the option to choose any classic roll.

The food here is perfectly average as far as Vancouver sushi standards go, but the customer service is perfectly unacceptable.
