Best indian food I’ve ever had in my life. Every dish is perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The owners are so nice and attentive too! I had their Butter Chicken and Mango Lassi and loved them. Will definitely keep coming back!

I never disappointed with the quality and taste of food. Must try their Dal Amritsari, never find that taste in any other restaurant.

My partner and I decided to go here about a week ago as we both love indian food.

I had the Bangara chicken, which I wasn't quite sure about at first, but the ingredients intrigued me. Turns out it was delicious. None of the flavours were overpowering, it all just blended nicely together. My partner had the butter lamb and that also was on point.

The presentation was very nice, with the curries being placed over an open flame to keep them warm. I've only ever seen this in South-East Asia until now.

The service is a bit slow, but they do cook to order and it feels like they may be understaffed. But for food this good, the wait is well worth it. Don't come here if you are in a hurry.

The end of the meal we were offered dessert on the house and had a quick chat with the owner who is such a nice person.

Will definitely be going back on futur visits to Vancouver.

I love this restaurant. It is a gem and one of my go to’s. My favourite is the chicken bangara chicken curry. It is delicious! Overall love this place and the people who run it.

Our experience here was phenomenal! Rick was an incredible host who created a warm, welcoming environment. I came a few months ago with friends and had to come back with my family. Everyone absolutely loved the food. We ordered mango lassi, paneer pakora, paneer tikka, chili paneer, malai kofta, and vegetable biryani, garlic naan, and onion and coriander kulcha and everything was fantastic. The best authentic Indian restaurant we have been to. On top of that, Rick provided us with shahi paneer and gulab jamun for dessert on the house! He also told us to come back for his special halwa the next day which he also provided on the house and was delicious. Rick is a very personable host and shared stories about his 43 years in business! Also, the restaurant had a calming ambiance and was very clean. Truly a wonderful experience. We will definitely be coming back!

The curries were so delicious especially the corn paneer curry and the butter chicken. Chef Rick was so friendly and a pleasure to talk to.

This indian restaurant has the largest vegetarian and vegan options plus the best lamb Rogan Josh and one of the best butter chicken in all of Vancouver. Super clean.

I have been meaning to try this place for a few months and spontaneously popped in for dinner while walking by tonight. I had their famous butter chicken and gulab jamun - both delicious! The butter chicken was rich and flavourful with the chicken in perfect tender bite sized pieces. I also loved the warm gulab jamun for dessert - it was balanced with nice flavour and not too sweet. Easily the best in Indian food in the area - can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!

I dined tonight with a group of 7 visiting from Seattle. We sampled a few appetisers (samosas & vegetable & chicken pakoras), we sampled the main menus & added a couple naan’s & rice dishes. The service, ambiance, food & style was all top notch. A complimentary dessert was offered (and accepted). I would most definitely come again.

Absolutely delicious! The butter chicken and the lamb vindaloo were well spiced and very tasty. I love that there is a small candle underneath to keep the food warm.

The naan was nice and crispy and the tandoori chicken was exceptional. Most restaurants tandoori meat is either too dry or too bland, but because tandoori is in their name, I decided to try their chicken tandoori, and I am very glad I did. The tandoori chicken was well seasoned, nicely cooked so they are not overly dry. Very delicious.

The service was good and the atmosphere feels nice. Overall 5 stars. I would definitely come back.

I had the best experience at the restaurant. The food was amazing and I can't wait to go again. The authenticity was so pure and genuine.

I found out about this place from a friend and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. One thing that stood out from the moment I walked in was how well lit it was. Alot of Indian restaurants in Vancouver are dimly lit and that ruins the ambience while you're eating. We ordered some veg pakora, paneer, sheekh kebab, baingan bharta, butter chicken, pulao, garlic naan and kulcha. We also got some Gulab jamun, complementary from Chef Rick the owner. All the food was really good but my favorites were the sheekh Kebab (very succulent) and the baingan bharta. The owners, chef Rick and his wife are really nice and welcoming as well, they took the time to talk to us, which made us feel appreciated. Will definitely be coming back again.

Excellent, delicious food. Probably the best Indian food you can find around here. Uniquely authentic Indian dishes that are flavourful and not greasy. We especially love their paneer methi corn malai, naan, and mango lassi. The complementary (DELICIOUS) gulab jamun are also highly appreciated. Puts many other top (over) -rated and expensive restaurants to shame. Chef Rick is always so hospitable with countless amazing stories to share. Always a homey, friendly experience at this restaurant and I cannot speak more highly of this place! Must-try, 100% recommend if you want to try actually tasty Indian food with good service and calm vibes.

This place is the only Indian restaurant I will go to in Vancouver. If I could eat here for every meal every day, I would. Rick and his wife always greet me like family, and I couldn’t ask for better.

Reasonably priced and has been excellent for decades.
They will shame you if you ask for delivery when you live 3 blocks away. Which is.fair.

Excellent food and service! We ordered Peshawari tikka, Butter chicken and Naan. Everything was so delicious. The butter chicken and Naan were the best we had so far- very authentic and so tasty. The place is great for dine-in. Highly recommended!

Ashiana is a neighborhood institution. Have been getting take out for many years now, and time and time again the quality and freshness is top notch. Plus chef Rick is always there with a smile to greet guests! If you haven't come here yet, make sure you stop by!

I absolutely love this place. It's easily the best Indian food I've ever had, and probably my favourite restaurant overall in the entire city. Chef Rick is a great host and an amazing chef. I've never once walked out without a big smile on my face, and every guest I've ever brought here felt the same. Could not recommend more.

Food is so good. We had a really wonderful meal. Menu is very complete and the chef made excellent recommendations. Restaurant is very clean.

The restaurant has the best food in the lower mainland their taste is unmatchable. The chef/ owner mr rick is a really humble and down to earth person he makes the experience even better with his talks. Moreover, the gulab jamuns are the best dessert to end with.

We had a takeout consisting of Malai Kofta, Paneer Methi Malai and Veggie Platter. The curries were nice albeit with the exact same base curry, the platter on the other hand was a bit dry and lacking flavour. Overall we thought the food was average. I do see really positive reviews so perhaps it was the dishes we ordered.

I visited after wanting to try Indian food and reading great reviews. The food was amazing and the staff were exemplary - thanks to Rick for dessert on the house and putting in a candle for my birthday! I wished I lived closer by so I could get takeout more often, but I’ll be visiting again when I can. Prices are extremely reasonable as well.

Just now visited this restaurant while visiting Vancouver from US with my family. Ordered Paneer Pakoras and Chaat for appetizer, and for my entree I ate Paneer Makhani with butter & Garlic naan and we also ordered Malai Kofta and a tofu dish. For desert had Gulab Jamun and Zauq e shahi. This restaurant is by far the best Indian food I have ever eaten in my life. Very delicious and flavorful and enjoyed every single bite. Owner was super friendly too. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting exceptional Indian food that you will not get anywhere else! Everything about the restaurant from the atmosphere to the food was great. Every single appetizer and dish we ordered was very flavorful and delicious. Wherever you live, if you have never eaten here, you are missing out and should come here as soon as you can.

Hands down, one of the BEST goat curry I have eaten in North America. The meat was soft, juicy with perfect aroma. Highly recommended. The owner Rik was so kind and talks to everyone personally. I wanted to come back the next day but unfortunately it will be closed. I promise to visit again when I am in Vancouver again. God bless Mr. Rik!

Absolutely the best butter chicken and the best service. Rick is someone you NEED to meet, and who's food you need to eat. 40+ years running and still no where in the city to get better Indian food.

Came here on a trip to Vancouver and absolutely loved it. Probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Chef Rick does it all. He welcomed us in, poured our drinks, cooked the delicious food. If you’re looking for a great meal in a charming setting, look no further!

Probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I ordered the butter chicken with naan and rice and it was amazing. Soooo tasty and buttery and the naan was fresh. Highly recommend. Will be coming back.

However the service was slightly slow, because there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant.

Had one evening in Vancouver and when you are craving for authentic Punjabi food, this restaurant popped up in the search. We ended up here and clearly blown away with the food. Really amazing taste and more importantly very very nice people. Butter Chicken is as real as you are having it in a dhaba or restaurant in Punjab. Lachedar paratha was authentic. Desserts are amazing and dal makhni melts in your mouth.

5 stars for food and more stars for the hosts.

We are visiting city and stopped to have a dinner. Food was nice but we ordered mango lassi as well that was stale. I sent back lassi and asked owner that I don’t like it. Then he came to our table and didn’t accept that he can be wrong. Such an arrogant person who thinks he is always right. He was taking to his employee that these guys never had a nice food so they don’t know. Seriously! How much disrespectful you can be? That’s why there no Indian people were there. Night mare!

Ashiana is our favorite Indian restaurant! The food is delicious, great service, and easy ordering online. My partner has a garlic intolerance and Rick was able to make the butter chicken and chicken Tikka masala garlic free for us. Thank you Rick for making my partner's birthday extra special! (We haven't had Indian since he started the low fodmap diet).
The garlic-free curry was really tasty and, yes, it tasted different, but it was so so sooo good! We will order again and I always recommend Ashiana!

Great restaurant, very nice interior, The owners and all staff were absolutely lovely and went around and talked to each customer, which was very nice and made us feel like it was a very homely place. They have been open over 40 years and do delicious food!

Hadn't been here for a few years, but decided to go back and try again. Ordered veggie pakoras, lamb curry and butter chicken. Service was very slow and inattentive. Pakoras came out lukewarm and not very crispy. Other dishes were okay. To the owner, if you want customers to come back, don't insult the wife!

Nice ambience and overall a nice place!
We were craving for some Indian Pakoras (Bhajjiya) after our rainy day stroll in the Queen Elizabeth Park. And we found this place. We had
1. Garam Onion Pakoras
2. Garam Chai
3. Samosas
4. Mango Lassi

And I must say, everything was so yummy and authentic! Loved the flavors. The mint chutney survey with Samosas was just too good!

I’ve walked past hundreds of times and never went in. Very unassuming place.
Fantastic food, I’d say the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Vancouver.
As everyone mentions it’s run by a lovely owner couple who are out interacting with guests and making sure everything is perfect.
Spent a good few hours here just munching away and enjoying the atmosphere. Will definitely return and try some other items off the menu
