I can't say enough about the outstanding care my cat receive at the Atlas animal hospital. The doctors are truly excellent, demonstrating expertise and genuine compassion. The Doctors and staff go above and beyond, ensuring my furry companions are not just treated, but also comforted. The entire team creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making every visit stress-free. My cats are always patient and relaxed, a testament to the exceptional care they receive. I wholeheartedly recommend this animal hospital to any pet owner seeking top-notch veterinary services and a compassionate environment.

Helped answer my questions on the phone and made space for my cat immediately. Everyone was very kind and helpful and even offered other clinics in the area that were more in my price range for non immediate care. That was really appreciated.

Very nice people there all though this was the place I had to put my cat down they are all so nice and respectful
25 August 2023 7:18
Appreciate that you guys are open 24/7 with an adorable exam fee. I find the vets reasonable with a little push for communication. I am an easily trusting person and I am wary of this. I hear such mixed things about this office. I have a few pets and I bring them all there for medications, exams, X-rays, vaccinations. I find the vets extremely kind. They were really good with my animals.as my animals are very nervous around strangers.

A dirty premises is always a bad sign. There was clumped dust and an empty glass vile under the treatment table. The vet literally didn't touch our pup or put him on the treatment table but she did recommended a 24 hour stay ($450), x-rays, x-ray review and blood work. Was going to cost us $1,000 or more. Avoid unless absolutely necessary. Found out afterwards that our vet avoids sending people here. Atlas has a bad reputation around town.

I've been here since the year of 2006 when I had my first pet. I glad and thankful that the vets and all the staffs explained clearly to made me understood that what I should need and care for my pets. Throughout the years and my pets always been treated well at Atlas. This clinic is open 24/7, without an appointment, reminded me for the next visiting before the day. I strongly recommend this place.

PLEASE! Think twice if you’re thinking of bringing your cat here. There’s a potential that your cat will be attacked and killed by random dogs there during treatment. I DONT WANT TO SEE ANOTHER HEART BREAKING OWNER LOSING THEIR FUR BABY WHEN TRYING TO GET MINOR PROBLEM CURED HERE. PLEASE! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!
20 February 2023 12:19
Horrible vet clinic. You overpay for everything, the vet didn’t talked to us or told us the price of anything before giving it to our cat. Absolutely terrible service. Went to another vet and was told EVERYTHING this clinic did was absolutely unnecessary. They just try to make money out of you. Horrible when they don’t know people’s financial situations. Never coming here again and would never recommend. My cat is still sick and other vets didn’t charge us this much for absolutely nothing.

Dr. Bhullar is knowledgeable and caring while his staff are extremely professional. Worth the wait to see him.

This was one of the most traumatic vet visits of my life.it left me sobbing.we were recommended this place as a last resort.our kitty needed emergency surgery (severe intestinal obstruction) and the doctors at canada west kindly suggested we take him here, since the cost was half of what it would be elsewhere and it was all we could afford.my cat (who was incredibly fragile at the time, as he had been in and out of different emergency hospitals) was ripped out of my arms.the doctor did a check and was so rough with him, forcefully gripping his tail.i was already crying at this point, and i asked if he could explain to me what was about to take place during the surgery, and to my shock he replied with: “are you a vet? No? Then don’t ever question me.i’ve done this 100 times. ” while i broke down, he informed me not to call them for updates and that this would simply be a “bother. ” i was told that i would receive a call in the morning where they would notify me on whether my cat was dead or alive.i simply cannot express how traumatizing it was.i picked him up a day later and his entire left leg was black and blue (he’s hairless), swollen to double its size all the way up to his elbow.the stitches were also like something out of a horror movie… the inside lining of his belly was poking out between each gap of stitching, blood everywhere.he could not walk on his leg and was terrified of every sound.my usual fearless kitty would wake up startled at night, refusing to sleep without me in his direct line of sight.i asked about this and was told that the bruising and swelling just happens with IVs.he was hospitalized again the summer after (at canada west, thank god) with complications from this surgery.his digestive system never recovered.i’m absolutely shocked that he even survived at all at this place, and to this day i feel horrible about ever bringing him here. AVOID THIS PLACE!

We have taken our dog and cat here for years. They are always well cared for as the vets and vet techs are so attentive. Dr Rajan specifically is amazing! We also never worry about the bill when we have to take our fur babies here as the costs are much lower than any other vet. We’re so happy to have everyone at Atlas to take care of our family!

Amazing place for your pets, very kind and caring staff
Honestly i used to go downtown Vancouver, it was a rip-off and they did a poor job… felt like it was only the money that mattered.
This place is not overpriced and they do a fantastic job, don’t hesitate to go at this clinic.
I 100% recommend

My visit: July 2022. My cat chewed and ate something. He started vomit and stopped eating or drinking. My cat had to stay at the hospital. They asked me to call in for an update at certain time. When I called, they gave me updates and answered all my questions. Assistants were all efficient and helpful. Reasonable fee.

My Shih Tzu was really sick and I was very worried about the cost of getting her treated. I went to Atlas and the doctor was so incredibly nice to my pet. He doctor did not push any services on me or provide me with any unnecessary treatments. I could tell from his demeanour and kindness that he really truly cared about the care he provided for my shih tzu.

I really do hope that they will continue to maintain this excellent care ethic, compassion and value. Thanks to Atlas for providing affordable and accessible vet care. We love the courteous staff there and the wonderful Dr. Khinda!

The font desk staff could work on improving their friendliness. They appear indifferent.
23 December 2022 10:43
Absolutely terrible customer service every time we go in, and they seem to treat their regular pet parents worse than us. We only use this vet to buy our cats prescription food since they're open 24/7 and always have it in stock. If not for the food we would never go here and I suggest others to do the same. You and your pets deserve better.
12 December 2022 0:12
Please do not bring your animal to these heartless human beings. This animal hospital purposely gives false diagnosis to pet owners for financial gain as well as prescribes medicine that is not only Well known to not help the condition but actually purposely administers medication to worsen your animals condition. This in turn leads to more dangerous and expensive health complications all for their financial gain.
03 December 2022 2:18
Would not recommend this clinic for treatment. Was here twice in past year. First time was for an undiagnosed case of dog lice that this clinic treated as a skin infection. Later a dermatologist at North West diagnosed lice within 5 minutes.
Most recently brought our dog in who clearly was quite ill and had blood tests which showed him as anemic. He could barely walk out as we left the clinic. Instead of being told what we later found out by another clinic that he likely had cancer and was bleeding inside, I was offered more expensive testing like X-rays and ultrasound by the young Vet at Atlas. Unfortunately we had to put our dog down later that day at another clinic. The front staff at Atlas are unresponsive and did not show any care whatsoever. This clinic was much better years ago when Dr Bhullar still worked there but the new staff and Vets are not well trained or knowledgeable. I will never go back to this clinic. So happy we did not put our dog down at this uncaring clinic.

This vet is extremely dirty, negligent, and generally doesnt care about you. We arrived at 6am for an emergency urinary blockage removal, left our cats blanket and were extremely shaken up because of how serious it was.

To get information each day was like pulling teeth, we would phone the vet, to be strung along, and strung along and strung along some more, until after 2.5 hours of callbacks a vet finally returned our call for information on our cats condition and health.

When we went to pick him up, we were over charged several hundred dollars on top of the couple thousand dollars we were quoted with. The staff had lost the blanket we had given for our cat, and in fact not even gave it to him in the first place.

We waited around with our cat in his kennel, he was not given a cone of any sort even though he had stitches and was very much licking them as soon as we saw him. He also removed the bandage from his paw that was placed from his IV, again because he wasnt given a cone.

After waiting an hour with our cat, and having paid. Standing around in this dirty and hot vet office, with no information. Finally the vet calls us into the room, recites the information that is already printed on the medication we were given. And reiterated that our cat only needs a cone if he is licking his wounds more than usual, to which i replied he was already doing that in the vets presence, and she shrugged.

NEVER EVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE, EVEN FOR EMERGENCY! If you have any other option in the area, take it, even if you have to drive to surrey. This place is full of complacent and uncaring staff who wont help you, or care, regardless of the thousands of dollars you spend.

Not to mention the outlets have burn marks, theres tape still on the wall from years old paintjobs, and animals running in and out the door without supervision.

I was recommended this place by another vet for the fee here as being affordable it is not for lower income people and they only cater nicely to those who have money and give an uncaring robotic attitude towards you if you are lower income they do not care about your pets they only care about money. The guy working there there really unfriendly people and that guy kept calling my cat a she when he is male and i had to repeat an bunch of times he is male he did not care at all and even ran out the room left me sitting there when my cat freaked out due to just being frightened by a new place. The girl who came in really didnt care much except to try to get me out as fast as possible or get me to pay 320 for xrays sorry I will not bring my cat there again too uncaring people! In the end i was charged 158 for bandages on my cats feet (which he got off so fast) and a cone with a small vial of medicine this group of people working here are only in it for money i dont recommend this place to anyone.

I think your experience here will vary vastly depend on who you have to engage with at the hospital. Overall I wouldn't return here, the last thing you need when your pet is unwell is to be worried about the quality of care they're receiving and be treated with hostility yourself.

We brought our dog here after she collapsed, we received no updates within the first 24 hours of her hospitalization. I called several times to check up and was told someone would call me back but that never happened. As I couldn't get any updates I went to pick her up after 24 hours, the night shift vet was apologetic. Trying to get test results the days after was difficult with the vet often being rude when I called. The reception staff were unfortunately generally not very helpful or welcoming either.

I have taken a couple different pets here over the years (mine and friends) and every single time they have been able to help when other vets said no.they truly go above and beyond and have even let me pay in instalments for emergency treatments.they've always been kind, compassionate and efficient.im really grateful for this clinic and the work they do

I normally don't write reviews but at this place, I just had to. If I can give this place 0 stars I would. We took our dog in for emergency as she was not feeling well. Firstly, the doctor did not even approach our dog or even look at her until we told her what was going on. She started making assumptions before doing any examination. The doctor did not fully examine her and started assuming that our dog swallowed something even though we were 100% sure she didn't. She started stating the prices on how much it was going to be and stated she wants to keep our dog overnight for some tests. "it's going to be this much for this, this much for this and to keep her overnight extra $600. " For us, the price did not matter because our dog matters. We did not feel right leaving our dog overnight without her even examining her. Our dog is on medication and when we showed it to her she didn't even acknowledge why is our dog taking it or what the reason for it was. She didn't even know what was wrong and that is why she wanted to keep our dog overnight. She said, "I will bring the paperwork in and you guys can sign it. " We did not get the paperwork but instead one of the guys working came in with around leash like he was going to tie her up. When we told her we will see what were going to do she started saying "this is the price everywhere" or something like that. As I mentioned it was not about the money it was about our dog. This place gave us such a bad vibe. I would not recommend this place.

This is only a place to go if it's after hours and you're very desperate, or you know what your pet needs and just need a cheap place to buy it. It's not the cleanest, but the costs are affordable and generally their availability is good. Though once a friend of mine brought my cat in for a lip infection as she was watching her while I was away. I suspected it wasn't anything major since it's happened before and was resolved by antibiotics and antihistamines but the vet here said it was caused by deep underlying tooth problems and that several teeth would need to be removed, including her canines. Knowing that was absolutely incorrect I reassured my friend that some vets just do their best to scam you into paying more and to just get the antihistamines. A week later the lip was fully healed. Trying to trick you into having you pet undergo major surgery puts this place on a black list for me.

Dr. Rajan saw my dog Takko today as she had been having eye infections and I was worried about long term complications so I brought her in for a check up. He was extremely patient and sweet, my dog is usually skittish around strangers but she was calm and relaxed around him, passing the Takko Test! He comforted me and reassured me that Takko would be alright and did his best in keeping my costs down while providing appropriate care. Takko and I highly appreciate his care and we also appreciate that Atlas has affordable pricing and availability for seeing my dog whenever she needs it!

I don't know what all these very negative comments were about, seems highly untrue.
I have had totally different experience than those negative comments.
Amir my 1st cat was diagnosed with pancreatitis and was hospitalized for 2 nights in another vet which costed me $1200 per night + test and exam fees (which were all 3 digits per test). To show the scope of how much we had to pay to save our cat in one of those fancy animal hospitals: we were told that we have to hospitalize him in order to get his ultrasound and a bunch of other tests done timely as an inpatient, otherwise we'll have to wait for days to just get necessary diagnose tests (as outpatient), which was not feasible because by then Amir would've been dead. So we had to hospitalize him. We were basically threatened into paying $$$$ to save his life. We couldn't afford that kind of treatment and eventually had to take him home, only to find out that he was getting worse to the point almost died. Desperate, we learned about Atlas from our friend and as the last resort we took him there. Dr. Grewal saw him, suggested hospitalization, IVF, and feeding tube. We agreed, and the cost for 3 nights hospitalization + treatment was 1/4 of how much we paid for previously.
Amir came home with a feeding tube, doing much better, and we can see progress everyday. Meanwhile Atlas provided very compassionate service, and Dr. Grewal checked in with us everyday while he was in the hospital, and days after after Amir came home. On top of everything, Dr. Grewal and the staff work there are very kind, polite and patient, we feel being taken good care of.
What's more is that this vet is 24/7 walk-in, which means that you don't have to wait for an appointment in order to get your fur baby the necessary timely treatment, nor do you have to ask for leave from your work. You also don't get threatened into paying $$$$$ to hospitalize your baby because they open 24/7 so you have options.
I highly recommend this place, as I think this is how much vets should charge and how things should be done, so that everyone can take good care of their animal babies, and receive equally quality and compassionate service.
16 March 2022 0:28
The vet care is cheap here and they can help save your animal when you have no other options due to cost
09 March 2022 16:40
I cannot say enough about the quality of service and care we have received each time our family has brought our dogs here. We recently added two puppies to our family (my parents have one sibling and we have the other), and at each vaccination appointment the vets take great care in providing a full physical in addition to the vaccination.they also give a little snuggle to the puppies once the vaccination is complete! I love the convenience of not requiring an appointment and the parking right out front. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful place to help us take care of our fur babies!
01 March 2022 17:54
Is there anyone’s cat/kitten who has recently done surgery/spay/neuter or just simply stay in this animal hospital and when your cat gets home started vomiting constantly?
I am experiencing this problem since my kitten spayed here and couldn’t find why, other animal hospitals said it could be some new virus and maybe they did not keep my kitten away from other sick cats so get infected.

If you are experiencing this problem too, please leave a review.
01 March 2022 16:56
We met Dr. Raj at the clinic. We found him to be a friendly and knowledgeable professional! He was able to calm our anxious dog and bound with her right away!
24 February 2022 9:48
My mother brought her cat here when it was hit by a car. They failed to properly check the cat and she ended up dying of internal bleeding after being sent home.

I've fostered cats before and unfortunately this place was one of the vets near me that was partnered with the agency. I was concerned about how the foster was reacting after her spay and called to check in and see if she was having a normal response. The receptionist was rude and i could barely understand what she was saying as she was mumbling half sentences. She hung up as I was trying to get more information. I ended up calling another vet. I really wish foster agency's wouldn't partner with this place because they don't care about animals.

I was shopping around for a vet to neuter my healthy one year old male cat.
After running into the vet medical cartel, namely oh first we need an exam oh $100 then I asked how much is that very simple routine procedure?
One vet said it depends.well i wonder on what, like how many balls he has, or what kind of day you have?
Let alone the fact that it is very traumatic for a cat to go to the vet, why 2 separate appointment, it is not an open heart surgery.
The other vet quoted between 400to 600 dollars. Again how can you not know. It is a simple laser surgery.
So then atlas came highly recommended. They saw me the next day. Just brought my cat home from the surgery. He already ate and seems to be doing ok.
Highly recommend.
Stay away from the vet medical cartel!
16 February 2022 20:03
Went to Atlas to have my dog Mara spayed, no appointment needed, dropped her off in the morning and picked her up later the same day. My local vet wanted to charge me almost
2 1/2 times as much as Atlas. The price included the follow up visit and stitches removal. It is worth the drive for me to come from Tsawwassen to see them. Happy with the service I received from front desk to the doctor. Thanks Atlas.
16 February 2022 19:57
Was looking for flea/tick treatment. Very slow service like they're really taking their sweet time. Going to the back for 5 mins at a time. Maybe to see if someone walks out with something. Its 9pm and kinda busy for Sunday night with just one person at the counter. Only here cause my vet wants a clinic visit before worm pills are issue. Person behind the counter seems able to lower the fee if you said it's cheaper at another store. Staff hard to understand due to poor English. No compassion for your loved pet, they just want your $$$$. $$

Wow $2000.00 operation for kidney stones
$300.00 for x-rays $400.00 blood test
I need to get a second job work 7 days a week
or win the lottery
Sell my car, take the bus
Crazy price.

This is thee Gold Digger Animal Hospital.
May seems busy place but I will not come back.

I bought flea treatment for 2 cats.
$125.00 wasted, it did not work!
Are they selling fake knock stuff?

Don’t waste your $$. $$ here.

$100.00 to put my pet asleep.
$150.00 if I want to watch it.
What kinda human are these people!
No compassion heartless money hungry owners.
This makes me sad and so mad.
12 February 2022 17:18
Our kitty is a trouble maker so we know vets and this is one of the best places. Reasonable prices and allowed us to come inside to hold our kitty. This reduced the stress for our little guy. Very straightforward staff. Gave us concrete choices how to treat.
02 February 2022 12:21
DO NOT take your pets here. Ever.
TW: pets, close calls, death
My partner and I had our 5-month old kitten neutered here. We weren't even home for 30 minutes after picking him up when he fell asleep as we were petting him, and stopped breathing. He was completely unresponsive, he wouldn't wake up and he wasn't breathing. We tried gently shaking him awake but he was completely limp. My partner had to administer CPR techniques/chest compressions equivalent to what would be required for an animal, let alone a kitten, and he finally woke up after a minute and was seemingly okay. I had to call Atlas while keeping composure, trying to explain the situation and get advice on what to do but they said that this was normal. They also asked us to take him back to be checked over, so we did and they declared him fine. My partner tried asking them for written documentation so to hold them accountable if anything happened resulting in injury or death, but they denied this. I've spoken to countless friends about this and we called other vets for second opinions. This is NOT a normal occurrence and they likely did not want to be held liable for a lawsuit. After reading the reviews on here and also having a friend (who knows somebody working in veterinary services) warn others away from here, I would advise the same.
26 January 2022 17:29
Abhorrent service. Rude staff who overcharged us, tried to withhold our dog, and did not properly care for our dog while she was in the care of this facility. While trying to pay for the procedure the front desk clerk told another staff member that we "couldn't pay" and to not bring our dog out even though she was barking and clearly upset. While taking our dog home she was trying to lick muddy ice as she was so thirsty. We were told she was held for a couple of hours after the surgery but the staff did not appear to offer her water. She was at this facility for around 14 hours. One of the wounds was stitched improperly, is weeping blood and fluids, and is causing the dog pain. We went to this facility because it was close to our house but I do not recommend it for any one who cares about the well being of their pets.

I got my 9 month, almost 10 month old kitten spayed yesterday at Atlas, they did an exceptional job! I have had a horrible and traumatic experience last year at a previous vet where I had a kitten die during her spay surgery, due to this I was very frightened and anxious, as well as reluctant, to get my current baby spayed at all. Atlas was very accommodating and reassuring but realistic, they were honest that despite the bloodwork there is no guarantees, however, they allowed me to see my kitten as soon as she woke up from the surgery before I left her there to recover for the day. This put my mind at ease until I picked her up where they gave me thorough instructions for post op care. I have always had a great experience with Atlas and feel they truly care. Also, they are a low-cost clinic, but ther service does not reflect the price, I have found better service and care here then most vets I have tried in the lower mainland.
03 January 2022 17:25
24/7 concept is really good. I got my kitten vaccinated for walk-in, was out in less than 20 minutes. Good vets.
28 December 2021 20:34
I have taken my dogs to Atlas and more recently a pup to get vaccinated then spayed. They provided excellent service and my dog was well taken care of. I had gone to another vet before and they canceled the evening before, making it impossible to find another vet.but I'm glad they did because it brought me back to Atlas which is a 24 hour veterinary. It might not look fancy, but they provide you with excellent service. I highly recommend them.
23 December 2021 4:27
I had a great experience dealing with the hospital, they are polite, quick, efficient and transparent. They are not the pretentious vet clinic that overly friendly and pretend to love and care your pets but only just trying to overcharge and trick you. I appreciate that they communicate clearly and set clear expectation of treatment and price. I had doubts before coming here based on the negative reviews, but they did a great job with our kitten, she is recovering quickly after her surgery.
20 December 2021 16:12
Not the best place to take your pets to. The front desk lady has an awful attitude. Very impatient and rude with customers. They are charging no less than other veterinary clinics but the service is way worse than other places.
16 December 2021 22:56
Literally tried to scam me for x rays on a pregnant dog when I had one only a few days before. These guys are a trash business and they don’t even clean up. Stay away at all costs
04 December 2021 2:32
I brought my dog in cause he stepped on glass and the vet told me he needed surgery 800.00 I took him to another place to get a second opinion it turn out he did not need surgery they are ripoffs DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!
02 December 2021 10:32
Very experienced vet. I need no fancy clicnic but a place that can direct tell me what my dogs need for treatment. My golden passed away in 3 days after diagnosed with liver cancer n hospitalized 2 days in Atlas. It was real hard for me to accept the fact while my golden had behaved normal than usual until the day he started not eating n panting heavily. Long story short, vet had not taken advantages in this stage to keep him unnecessary medicated.
For my other dog a chowchow, also diagnosed with malignant cancer, originally I was focusing on his limb n Atlas vet told me what was urgent to be taken care of, without spending on unnecessary treatment or operation. They r great n experienced vet who truly think what's best for your family members.

Thank you! Came here at 5 AM on an emergency. My dog was distressed after some sort of splinter got stuck in his mouth (turns out it was more than a ‘splinter’) Staff was very kind, and very quick, professional, and incredibly efficient! When the vet saw us, he got it out in literal seconds! We were amazed! We couldn’t believe what was stuck.

Thank you so much! My dog is very happy! The vet is fantastic! We were only here for a few minutes and our problem was solved that quick.

Great Vet hospital, and fantastic vet.
28 August 2021 12:28
My pets are like family to me and all the staff at Atlas treat them as if they were their family pets.with incredible love and care. I am so thankful to have found them.
27 July 2021 17:40
No muss no fuss. I love the walk-in concept and affordability of this 24/7 clinic. Our regular vet is closed weekends and we had an urgent but non-emergent issue with our senior boxer. Friendly and accommodating staff and professional vet who was quick to remind us blood work would be important regarding medication, which we appreciated and showed he was listening and cared. Super affordable, will definitely use them again. Thanks Atlas!
25 July 2021 23:04
Marvin my cat was ill and it was time for him to be put to sleep. I want to thank the staff at Atlas for being kind and gentle with Marvin at the end.
19 July 2021 10:38
I am a victim of fraud from this vet clinic. The vet administered two expensive shots to my cat WITHOUT telling me how expensive each shot was going to cost me prior. Not until.after the appointment did I find out how much my bill was going to cost. The owner offered me half my money back but when I said no, I want all of it back, he took his cheap offer back and told me I should have assumed there would be an expensive cost to the shots my cat received. What a scam. Do not trust this shady vet business. They only care about the money.
12 July 2021 9:28
The staffs are clueless and the vets are very incompetent. Never take your pets here for emergency. I won't be coming back even for something as simple as taking a shot. There's a vet working in the evening with light orange hair, that is rude as hell and can't answer any questions. STAY AWAY PEOPLE.
11 July 2021 6:07
I have called three times to have records sent to our new vet; my new vet has also called multiple times. I can't speak to their abilities but from an administrative perspective it is frustrating to have to follow up multiple times for a simple task.
05 July 2021 1:14
Please, please, PLEASE do not take your pets here!

My husband and I took our French Bulldog here as his breathing was causing us to worry as Vancouver was experiencing extremely hot temperatures and we were scared of our dog suffering from heat stroke.

When the vet examined our dog, he stated that his temperature was normal, therefore not experiencing heat stroke, but there was something else wrong with his breathing and asked us to leave our dog overnight otherwise our dog would collapse at any moment if we didn't.

The next morning, we got a phone call at 5am, telling us that our dog's breathing was still not stable and they're trying what they can, but we are free to come visit our dog at any time. My husband and I immediately headed to Atlas and arrived in less than half an hour, just before 5: 30am. When we arrived, we told the man at reception we were there to visit our dog. The receptionist said, "OK, follow me" and as we started following him to the back, he casually turned around and said, "your dog passed". We thought we heard wrong, but he led us to the back where we saw our dog's body on the other side of the room, deceased, laying on the table, tubes still down his throat. My husband and I were in complete shock and not prepared for what we saw. The image was extremely traumatizing and it's not something my husband and I can forget.

The vet on duty was just sitting at his table on his computer. We asked what happened within the short amount of time that we received the phone call to our arrival (less than 30 minutes) and he could not give a clear explanation. He mumbled something about it could have been heat stroke, yet I told him the vet last night told us our dog's temperature was normal. In addition to that, the animal hospital was well air-conditioned. We kept asking for an explanation and he claimed he doesn't know as they ran tests that they still haven't received. He then points to a garbage bag on the floor, and said, "Many pets suffer from heat last night. That dog also died last night. "

Then he pulls up a blood work report, which contradicted what he said that they didn't have any test results, and shows us our dog had elevated levels in 3 areas, but he couldn't explain what those 3 areas represented. The receptionist then called another vet, who was still not the vet who initially saw our dog upon intake, to talk to us over the phone and said, "Ma'am, these things happen. Dogs are not cars, you cannot just replace their battery. " The vet over the phone then asks to speak with the vet on duty and requested for him to send him the reports so he can have a look and explain to us. It is extremely unsettling that the vet on duty, who was in charge of our dog's care, was not competent enough to do this himself.

While we understand that a necropsy may be needed to determine the final cause of death, we just wanted an explanation of how our dog's condition developed throughout the night and what was done to help him. The vet who was in charge of his care couldn't do that which makes us question his qualifications. There was ZERO compassion demonstrated by all the vets and staff we encountered at Atlas. It felt like they were talking to us as if our dog was nothing more than an object that broke, and not a valued member of our family.

If your animal requires emergency medical attention, please take your dog elsewhere. Even if the wait times are extremely long at other places, it isn't worth risking your animal's well-being here. No one should have to experience what my husband and I experienced here with Atlas.

Hello,
I was in at 11pm Friday December 18th 2020 with my cat who had Xylazine Injected to induce vomiting.
It seems the vet gave her too high of a dosage as well as likely improperly injected as she wasn't able to walk for 36 hours after the procedures as well as, sedated for over 24 hours after which; during my research it seems it should only be a mild 5hour min to 12 hour (max) sedation.
After the procedure, I was told she was fine and given no follow up on how to care for her. When I called you to speak to the vet, everyone sounded surprised this was happening.
*I should have been told of the possible side effects as well as that she would be highly sedated. *
I seeked advice from a vet at Burrard Hospital and they said that was abnormal.
Now that my cat is finally walking, she is skiddish and acting slightly paranoid as well as peed on furniture (my cat has never done this before and I am told that this can occur in cats if they are anxious or stressed; my assumption is that it can be related to how my cat was treated at the vet)
Prior to this experience she was very trusting and cuddly. Not fearful.
I don't know what happened to my cat behind those closed doors but I believe this needs to be addressed.
Induced vomiting seems like a relatively simple procedure. She was weighed prior to, 6lbs so I am surprised the dosage was too high.
I payed $242 and spent more time worrying about my cat afterwards than I believe I should have, and now she is afraid of something.

Please let me know how you plan to follow up with the improper handling by the veterinarian.

I wrote this message to the hospital over two weeks ago and the hospital never got back to me thus, I will leave it as a review as it further shows me that my cats well being isn't of importance.

The Vet who gave vaccination and implanted the microchip to our puppy was great. Very detail oriented, kind. She didn't rush us explaining everything in detail. Very professional.
The clinic premises a bit dated. But overall I'm very satisfied.

I have a Golden Retriever he will turn three this year. From last couple of days, he is having some sort of infection. My friend suggested me the place and I took him there. They identified an ear infection and gave some medication which worked fine for him. Thank you, Atlas!

They are open 24 hours, and not all clinics are. They were professional and thorough. As a person who did not undergo vet training, I have no idea if the services they provided were 100% necessary. All I know is, they kept my cat for 2 days, it cost a thousand bucks, and he's better now. #shrugs

I took my Labrador for a regular checkup and vaccination. The vet and the team is quite friendly and knowledgeable, they treat the animals with proper care as they should be treated. I like their service and so, yeah! A must visit place for all pet owners.

I took my German Sheppard for nail trimming and ear cleaning, at first, I was a little worried about him as he doesn’t listen to others, but they really took very good care of him. Finally, they got the job done properly. Thanks to you.

We Darong's dad and mom deeply thank to Dr. Bhullar and assitant staffs (lady) and receptionist! Very kind and helpful honestly. Dr. Bhullar specially call to previous hospital and trasferred the old charts (rercords), and it was helpful to treat Darong and saved our money and time. The surgery money also very reasonable compare to their professional skill and effort! Thank you so much.

I took my boy here late at night after he'd been attacked pretty badly, they kept him overnight to stabilize him and did the surgery in the morning. He needed about 40 stitches and most we're on difficult parts, over the next week he managed to rip a few open and when I took him back there they were so helpful and worked with me on the price and even kept him there in the kennel for 2 nights to make sure he was healing properly. Love these vets and even though Im on the island they were still much cheaper than our local vets, travel costs included! 5 stars- would definitely recommend these guys

Awful experience, avoid this place at all costs. Price kept changing. Insisted that X-rays were need cause he has the feeling there is a foreign object in my pets stomac. Charged me 330 bucks for X-ray and he comes back and says my pets stomac is empty. Had to call the several times next day to get the prescription sent over to my local so I can pick up the meds there next my house. Basically had fight with them to send it. Then they said it was sent get to my local vet and nothing has been received. Then they say there is nothing prescribed to my pet. Luckily there’s a data base for all vets who can see what activity they had done and can see the prescription on theyre screen. I put My local vet on the phone with the woman at atlas animal hospital and she explained that there is a prescription that she sees on her screen and just needs to be fax over and finally she sends it over with 10 minutes left to my local vet to close. I feel like they didn’t want me to go anywhere else because they wanted me to give them my money. Well that’s not the way it works. Avoid this place.

Sorry to say it was a sad experience. I used to bring my dogs here 10 to 12 years ago and it was great.
They treatrd my older dog for a tumor and extended her life a few more years.

So I travelled from BURNABY to come with my sick kitty.

She had a cold that got in her chest; however, I do believe the travel from Europe and not ever being vaccinated meant he was probably already sickly, and, also a change in climate and from going to being an inside kitty.

The reason for the low rating is because

1. The vet on duty told me that if the breathing did not improve in 2 hours it was not going to get better.

2. At one point when I went in to check he told me my kitty was too dehydrated to check the temperature. So he decided to check it right then. His temperature was low 95.4

So then, he suggested we wrap the 2.5 pound kitten in the big bath towel I had.
Then he turned the heat up in the Oxygen incubator.

Well they had another towel in there that I must have been full of fleas as I saw a flea on my pants in the car and my kitty was infested later when I looked at it after I brought it home when it was passed away.

When the new young female vet came on duty I asked her why she was not doing more to save my kitten.
So she came up with this quote for iv and fluids and this and that at an estimate of 8 to 900 and told me I could go home as she would keep my animal for 24 hour care.

Then she and rhe male receptionist started to hound me for half the balance up front!

I asked her what had changed. Oh she said your cat is a bit better 98 degrees and seems to be breathing better.
But when I went to check on him and took a picture it was no better.
So I went to the far to warm up and make some calls. Something was telling me not to spend the money somehow to wait and see.

Sure ENOUGH, I got called in and they were giving it cpr and oxygen.

Only at that point did she explain that an animal could die from the distress of having its fur shaved for an IV.

In conclusion, I do not feel my kitten received the bestappropriate interventions and care. Like not taking the temperature and wrapping it in a blanket?

I will not be returning and perhaps I have spared others from any similar trauma.

If you love your pet never take your pet to this clinic!
i took my cat to this clinic just for Annual examination and to get Vaccines,
i notice the doctor do not have a lot of experience with cats, just from the way she hold my cat Aggressively, my first instinct was to take my cat and to go somewhere else but unfortunately I decided to stay and to investigate a bit more about the doctor experience and I was told she has only 4 years experience as a animal doctor, i was assuming everything should be ok because we came just for 2 shots and you dont need much of experience for this kind of treatment, so my lesson of the day was always assume for the worst because the experience my cat and I had in this Clinic was a nightmare.in the second vaccine the doctor hurt my cat badly and the needle almost broke in my cat spine, i was really mad at this point not only at the doctor, i was mad more at myself because i shoulded listen to my first instinct and to go somewhere else.while the doctor went out from the room for a couple of minutes the manager of the clinic suddenly open the door with no warning (usually you supposed to knock on the door!) my cat got scared and try to run out of the room the manager shut the door on my cat and then he tried to block aggressively my cat with his foot, i told the manager to stop what he's doing and to let me catch my cat but he didnt listen and he grab my cat aggressively and crush her against the floor.
I must say I really don't think the doctor and the manager meant to hurt my cat but they're not professional and there is no question about that.

NEVER TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!

I brought my best friend here because it was an emergency it was his time to go. The doctor barely spoke English to me and my father as he was preparing everything to put my buddy to sleep. The doctor gave my buddy the first shot to slow his heart I didn't think his heart rate was slow enough. He said that his heart rate was where it was susposed yo br. He then administered the kill shot but I'm guessing he missed his vein and my buddy was convulsing on the table whimpering, the doc then panicked ran out of the room yelling in his language then came back with another shot administered that one and ot made my buddy shake and foam and whimper even more then the doc ran out again yelling a helper came in and they were yelling in their language then cam back with another shot and administered the 3rd one.
It took a total of 3 kill shots and 20 min to put my dog to sleep.
It was the most horrible experience i've had in.my entire life. The doctor basically just poisoned my dog to death.
I to this day suffer from PTSD from the experience.
It was not right how it happened.

DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!

0 STARS!

Dog stayed there for 3 nights for boarding. Came back with cut lips (like someone kicked him in the mouth) also had a patch of skin missing from his behind. Called the hospital to see what happened, NO EXPLANATION given. WILL NEVER LEAVE MY DOG HERE AGAIN.

You would expect an "Animal Hospital" to actually care for the dogs.

Now I am not surprised at all the negative comments and I seriously question the 5 star ones.

This place is a joke.

LEAVE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU'D LIKE FOR IT TO GET INJURED AND RECEIVE NO EXPLANATION FOR WHAT HAPPENED.

Perhaps its a question of being understaffed for graveyard shifts, perhaps its a result of being one of the only 24-hour options in the city, leading to a sense of disregard.

My wife and I had to have one of our cats put down at Atlas recently. For some unknown reason, they opted -not- to prep our cat beforehand, choosing instead to do it right in front of us.

Quick jab with a syringe, and a terse "she'll vomit now" before the vet walked out the door, leaving my wife and I to spend the last moments of our time with our cat watching helplessly as she convulsed and ejected the contents of her stomach- as he had been suffering acute renal failure, that meant liquid and blackish bile.

Several minutes later, the vet returned with an assistant. They (quite roughly) shaved her, paying so little attention to the process that they tagged our cats ear several times. I guess they don't think it matters now that A- the cat is sedated, and B- she's about to die anyways?

So, uncaring shave job aside, the vet then stuck the IV feed line into our cats arm with enough force to cause quite noticeable bleeding. Then, without any further care or concern, the final injection. A quickly mumbled "sorry for your loss" and he was gone.

All told, this horrifying display of cold, unfeeling euthanasia took maybe 5 minutes.

My wife and I, over the course of 24 years, have taken in many rescues, and thus this isn't our first time dealing with feline euthanasia. I can tell you that this is the first time we've ever been subjected to all the prep being done right in front of us.

You cannot know what a sickening feeling it is, watching your loved one being treated like that- but what can you do? Tell the vet to stop? "Take your business elsewhere"? You pay before the process, so they had their money. We really had no choice but to just take it.

Thank you, Atlas, for gifting us the worst possible experience as our final farewell to our cat.

They have knowledgeable and caring staff at Atlas Animal Hospital quickly responded to a poisoning of our Bull Mastiff, while on vacation. We called them up with the early symptoms and our suspicions that he ate mouse poison. They had us bring him in right away even though they already had a full schedule and we were not regular customers. The staff treated immediately and scheduled a follow-up appointment. The changes for blood tests and examination were reasonable and less than we pay at home for similar services.

After seeing 3 different vets over the lifetime of my pet, I am very happy to have found this place. Quality care at affordable prices. Pus they are available to help anytime (open 24/7), no appointment needed. Have seen them on 4 different occasions with various issues, and I always got knowledgeable doctors and great service. When I first learned about them, I thought that lower prices mean they offer substandard care. But I have seen differently! They are a legally operating business, and following standard veterinary procedures.

WORST PLACE EVER! WE LEFT OUR DOG WITH THESE GUYS FOR A WEEK AND NOW WE WISHED WE NEVER DID!

FIRST OF ALL, WHEN WE PICKED HER UP, THE TWO GIRLS/LADIES THAT WERE AT THE FRONT DESK HAD SUCH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, IE. NO SMILE OR HELLO TO EVEN START OFF WITH. MY HUSBAND ASKED HOW OUR DOG DID AND ALL WE GOT WAS A ONE WORD ANSWER "GOOD". C'MON, I AM PRETTY SURE THEY CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT, ESPECIALLY HAVING HER WITH THEM FOR A WEEK, GEEZ! TONE WAS VERY HARSH AND LOOKED AT US AS IF WE WERE CRIMINALS.

ANYWAY, WHEN OUR DOG WAS BROUGHT TO US, BELIEVE ME, SHE SMELT AS IF SHE HAD BEEN SLEEPING IN HER PEE THE ENTIRE WEEK. WHEN WE GOT HOME, SHE WAS PEEING BLOOD. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH OUR VET FOR THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE HAS A URINARY INFECTION. JUST MADE US WONDER HOW CLEAN THIS FACILITY IS.

OUR DOG NOW IS VERY EDGY AND NO MORE THE HAPPY, ACTIVE DOG SHE WAS WHEN WE LEFT. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT WENT WRONG THERE BUT SHE IS NOT HERSELF FOR SURE.

I thought my dog was poisoned because during our walk he just collapsed. Took him to Atlas as they had the cheapest exam fee; when the vet determined his paralysis was most likely permanent, he said he could keep my dog for a few days to do blood work, an exray and give him an anti inflammatory iv for the cost of 750-850. I didnt know what to do, so I agreed; but when I went to sign the form to give them permission they said "ok, that'll be 85%up front ". I was speechless! But the receptionist said it was policy. I wasn't told by the vet about this policy, nor have I ever heard of paying that much upfront for any vet. I can kind of understand, but I told the vet we are a low income family! And I'm glad I left. It didn't feel right during the exam, and it didn't feel right with the diagnosis.

I brought my Pitbull puppy into Atlas to get neutered and micro chipped. Staff was friendly and took him in right away. When I went to pick him up his tail was wagging and happy to see everyone (good sign they treated him well) I was very happy with the price as I was quoted over $300 to have him done. Very affordable and they do request a follow up to see how he's healed. Glad they put in the effort to see how he's doing afterwards. When he did come home and I looked at the area it was very red and the only thing I would say is the area could of been cleaned a bit more just to get some of the dried fluid off. Bear healed great, and no complications! Would recommend Atlas as they work with you and have great pricing!

NEVER TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE - I would give 0 stars if it was possible. I have a strong feeling the positive reviews here are fake.

I brought my cat in because he was lethargic and not being himself. After I explained my concerns to the vet he asked no follow-up questions, basically just quickly felt his belly (no checking breathing or respiratory sounds or anything else) and told me he didn't know but would take a blood sample. He immediately whisked my cat into the back and was told to wait in the lobby. Later the receptionist or tech brought my cat out into the lobby holding my cat in his arms and handed the cat to me while the front door was wide open. I didn't see the vet again but was just handed a bill for $250. I don't mind at all paying for veterinary treatment for my kitty, I want the best for him, but I usually expect a vet to discuss options, whether the blood test is necessary, what he might expect to find from it and what I should watch for when I get home. I got none of this. I had to actually ask the receptionist how I would get the results and I received a response of, oh I guess you can call tonight or tomorrow.

The next morning, I called them for the blood test results. First the receptionist told me they only had a partial report in so I should call back. I asked if I could please know what the partial report said and he seemed surprised and put me on hold. A vet came onto the phone and told me the test showed some elevated liver enzymes and that was concerning so I should bring my cat in immediately for hospitalization and IV fluids. I felt really skeptical so I asked to pick up the report so I could take it for a second opinion. They reluctantly gave me the report when I showed up and I brought my cat to another clinic. The other clinic took the time (as a vet should) to explain the report and why the liver enzyme values were not worrisome. My cat was sick, and slightly dehydrated. All he needed was subcutaneous fluids and rest. I believe if I had admitted my cat to Atlas it would have not only been unnecessary but actually harmful.

I believe that the vets do not have the level of competency we should expect from vets and their practice is to prey on people's emotions in times of stress. They know people want what's best for their pets and will listen to what they say, as they are the "experts". Before this I believed that all vets at least have a certain level of competency and wish for the best for all animals but this is not the case at Atlas. Please do not take your animal there.
19 July 2018 2:28
If I could give 0 stars I would, I don't recommend anyone bring their pets here, they care for money and they don't care about the animals, they quoted me 600+ for my cat to have surgery, which I felt was so unnecessary and I called a different animal emergency hospital, she said atlas is known for over charging and ripping people off! I told the vet about my financial situation and he slammed the door and left, so unprofessional! Don't bring your pets here! No compassion, money hungry people!
