For years my parents would send items like soto ayam and rendang from the Netherlands but this store has everything I need and has become my regular go to for Indonesian food!

One stop shopping if you wanna find all indonesian snacks, food, spices, coffee, etc. Extremely nice and sweet of the owner as well, om & tante Grace.

Sasa is an amazing store owner. There is great variety in her stock and is unabashed with using Cantonese to help introduce and share her knowledge about the types and uses of her products.

^^ will definitely come back!

A small hole in the wall shop! It’s tight, it’s busy and is wonderful. I didn’t know what to expect coming to this industrial area. The front door was closed but the open sign indicated it was open. We opened the door and walked up the stairs and was greeted with an experience.

Lots of Indonesian goods with no prices, from fish in the fridge to desserts and spices - everything looked legitimate! Lots of older ladies in there buying items to stock up a Saturday and their partners sitting in cars downstairs.

The main lady (Presume she’s Grace) ? Is friendly. Make the trip and take a step into another place

Indonesian food ingredients galore! Incredible how this tiny, packed-to-the-rafters shop can have such variety - and such a nice elderly couple running it. Of course not as many kinds of krupuk, cassava crackers, gendar etc (ready to eat as well as uncooked ones) as you can buy in Indonesia, but more than enough choices to satisfy us homesick Indonesians! And the variety of bumbus, condiments, paste, syrups etc will keep the most die hard Indonesian chef satisfied when creating their own home cooked creations; after all, there really is NO decent Indonesian restaurants in Vancouver - which is quite amazing and disappointing for a city with so many Indonesians! Ridiculous actually! So just go to Grace and cook your own!
The shop is a bit difficult to find but your best bet, if you don’t have GPS, is just go west on Kent avenue South until you see Shaughnessy St, and the shop is actually on Kent Avenue; open the door to #9011 - which looks like a warehouse and not a retail shop, and go upstairs. Happy cooking!

Best tempeh price in Vancouver! So yummy! They also have tempeh starter to make your own at home!

It's my first time at this place, and I thought I went to the wrong location at first. It didn't look like your traditional store, the door is not noticeable but once you find it, you go up a set of stairs that leads you to where all the products are. Auntie Grace (I assume she's the owner given the name of this place!) was super welcoming and personable. I went there looking for these cassava chips a friend had given me to try before and could not find it on the shelves, Auntie Grace helped me look for it in the back and gave me the last two bags she had! She also gave me her business card and said I can text her to ask when she would have more coming in again. The place was small, but had a lot of neat snacks and drinks and other food items that I don't normally come across, and I'm excited to try everything out. Overall had a really positive experience here, Auntie Grace is a very sweet lady!

Very much so a hole in the wall shop that is quite small, but there is a wide variety of Indonesian foods and ingredients there for a very reasonable price. Always love going in there to try new foods!

The inside of the store is small and not as tidy.
But, there are a good options to find Indonesian food and groceries.
They also have Tempeh for CAD 1.75 each.
Some snacks, herbs and Indomie comes with different flavour compared to regular Canadian stores.

Best and only Indonesian import store in Vancouver. Grace is wonderful and has been providing our Indonesian needs for more than 20 years. Not easy to find in the industrial section by the Oak street bridge. Call ahead as store hours vary. A must for authentic indonesian spices and specialty foods.

Very hard to find. Doesnt look like a store at all. No sign other than a very hard to see scrap piece of paper with the word "grace" written on it to indicate you've found the correct place. Then you got to go upstairs through a storage room to find the place. I felt like I was buying drugs and not beef rendang sauce or gado gado.

It's the best place to get Indonesian snacks and food in Vancouver. Friendly owner, but really strict neighbours! Make sure you park in the right spots, or high risk of getting your car towed away within minutes!
14 July 2020 5:47
This grocery store holds the most complete Indonesian staple items in the Lower Mainland with comparable price to the origin.

What a hidden gem, I was finally able to buy a starter culture and split soybeans for making tempeh and soy milk! I've been looking for ages for somewhere to buy this in Vancouver! Auntie Grace was super friendly and helpful:)

This is the best place to find all spices needed for Indonesian food. Customers even travel all the way from Seattle. Auntie Grace must be doing something right. I love the welcoming tone and good variety of products. The prices are reasonable. I would check in when new shipment would arrive so to get fresh and more products. Would recommend to everyone looking for authentic Indonesian food products.

Only place in Vancouver to find a full range of genuine Indonesian products. A bit hard to find, but worth it!

This Indonesian Market has a great selection of Indonesian food at great prices. I came to get some Nasi Goreng. They had many different brands and different spicy levels. It's a little confusing to get to, there isn't much signs, and it's upstairs in an industrial building but very nice staff and I will return again.

It is a must go to place if you need authentic Indonesian spices, chips, ready to make sachets for many Indonesians food. Auntie grace is very helpful and knowledgeable what do you need to make certain Indonesian dishes.

The one and only place where you can find Indonesian snacks. Also known as "Tante Grace" (Auntie Grace) in the Indonesian community.
27 April 2019 10:06
Great place for Indonesian food products, our go to place to stock up on treats, spices, and noodles. Great variety and service.
19 March 2019 20:38
Family-owned grocery store specialises in Indonesian food, snacks, condiments, cooking ingredients, and other knicks-knacks. Wished they have more varieties.but otherwise best place to go for Indonesian specialties in Vancouver.
The store has no signage/markings nor look obvious from the outside, try the front door if it's unlock. Alternatively, call the phone number to confirm if it's open.
. Up the stairs and into the small yet plentiful store.

I loved it because it helped me to cure my "Indonesian Food-sick". Tante Grace (the owner) is very humble yet helpful. Keep it going Tante and thank you!
