This has happened for second time that receptionist was rude. My hair dresser trimmed hair 4 times more than asked for.even hair dresser was rude, while applying hair colour she was rough and ended up loosing more hair.after getting out till 1 week, colour was visible on scalp.its worst place i ever had visited.i would never recommend anyone.

I am so Thankful for Linda Lorenzo she did an awesome job to get the colour I want for a very long time and she full fill it. I recommend Linda to anyone for sure!

Wanna experience the third world? Go to this salon. The women working the front desk are confrontational and rude. I don't like to talk bad about working women but these women are just vulgar, crass and simply trashy and unrefined. Upon the smallest complaint the trashy classless women here will gang up on you and luanch a full attack and unless you choose to stoop to their level u might as well save your dignity.because they have none.and just go somewhere else. People don't give these people your business.bring class and dignity to burnaby again.we cannot have businesses like this thrive in society. BTW check their BBB SCORE. ITS AN F.because they have never responded to complaints against them. Shame on you trashy women really shame on you!

Have been with Sherm for a good number of years! She never disappoints whether it be in cut Color or highlights. She’s very professional and knows her job. Would highly recommend anyone to go and see her, I always get compliments after I see her

I've gone to at least 20 different bleach out, hair colour, professionals in the Greater Vancouver Area. At Aura ask for L. Yen, she is The Best! My over processed hair looks gorgeous now! Her!

Everyone is nice and friendly. The stylists are a bit hit or miss, but to their credit they actually called me when I asked a question about whether or not they did do-overs for an uneven haircut I got. I got it evened out for free so that's good.

Srecka is an amazing colourist! She's the queen of blonde! Been going to her for years and I'm always happy when I leave the salon and I'm super picky!

I have been doing my hair color here for the last 2 years.my overall experience is good except the last time. I usually take the service from Sonia but last time she was not available so I booked someone else (I am not mentioning the name here). The lady did not clean the residue color from my forehead and said that it would go away if I use makeup remover at home. I did that but it did not go away! It was really frustrating because I am spending 120 bucks for my hair color then why would I spend time and energy at home to cleanup the color!
Also, Sonia used to put some liveon conditioner and some type of oil which made my hair look really shiny.but this time I did not get anything except unnecessary high heat on my hair. I am really disappointed. Since I am paying equal amount for service from all of them, as a customer/ client, I can expect equal service from all of them.

I can't thank your hairstylist, Sherm, enough for the amazing makeover she gave me. I came for the spring break from India and thought to try a new look. I gave Sherm a free hand to do anything that she felt would suit me. I had never tried short hair with highlights before and was skeptical but her confidence gave me the courage to go for it and it paid off! I still get compliments even after 3 months. Thank you Sherm! Thank you Aura at Sets Salon!

I went to AURA for the first time. My appointment was booked with Sherm. She’s so sweet. She gave me such a lovely haircut and highlights. She also helped me choose an appropriate color (for the highlights) that suits my skin tone. I also got so many compliments. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Thank you so much!

I have curly hair that’s hard to cut, but they have Great service, she really listened to what I wanted and made good suggestions.

This salon treats its customers like second class citizens. Their company policies are not really aimed towards their customers and are rather implemented to accommodate their staff. They do not allow their clients to use their salon restrooms and instead ask their clients to go outside of the salon to use the mall restrooms. Clients that have salon gowns on and foils in their hair are expected to use the mall restroom facilities.

This review is towards the company and it’s manager regarding their policies and treatment of their clients not the hairdressers or other staff forced to implement them. Definitely not impressed with the manager’s customer service. She needs to work on that. She certainly made me feel like an inconvenience and unwanted customer in the salon.

I edited my original review only because the owner called me and saw that I have been going there for a few years now. And because he was genuinely interested in knowing why I wrote my original 1 star review on his business.

I had the worst experience here. The staff member was very rude. I arrived on time for when they told me to come, but they said they don’t have anyone for atleast 1 hour. She was very rude and careless. You could just not have asked me to come at that time instead. It was my first time here. And the receptionist was very rude. Never going again. Pathetic attitude.

I am not happy with the haircut provided by Yen. Honestly, I don't think she can follow instructions well. So expensive for the outcome. I have to bear this hairstyle for a while. So sad

Trina was fantastic with my hair! She is also extremely friendly and clearly loves her job. I would highly recommend her.

The receptionist was not the friendliest, yet My experience with Trina made me forget about about that.

I decided to change my hair from short to long and I spent a little over 6 months trying to make it work. I tested multiple barbers and stylists before I finally stumbled upon Clarissa at Aura at Sets Saloon Spa. For anyone looking to try out this location, I highly recommend asking for Clarissa as she did an amazing job cutting my hair.

The salon has times when it's busy with customers and the front desk staff. Every time I have gotten my hair done there, I have gotten a different stylist. The last time I had Linda and she is a nice lady and listened and cut and styled to my requests. I would go back to see her. The price is not as cheap as Great Clips or Magic Cuts. Both hair salons in the area closed up shops. People will have to commute further to the next nearest salons unfortunately. Depending on the price to get eyebrows threaded, I may go back at a different time.

I gave 5 star to Liz my hair guru who is working there and always do a fantastic job on my hair, from cutting, color and to the finishing touch, she always nailed it! I recommend anyone to try Liz and see how good of a stylist she is. Salon is ok a bit pricy!

Sherm is there stylist there! Every time i go, i leave happier than i even expected. She takes such good care of my hair and gets it right every time. Whether its just a haircut or a colour. Highly recommend her for any hair service you are looking to do!

Owner is greedy and unprofessional! I had a hair stylist absolutely destroy my blonde hair, she left half of it white and the bottom half orange. I called them after a week due to personal reasons and they told me the owner would call me, he never did, I went all the way to Burnaby two times and the owner conveniently was never there. They tried to give me 50% off after wanting to charge me more than 200$ for something that their own stylist screwed up. I spent more than 1000$ here. Disgusting and unprofessional behaviour by the owner and front desk. I thought my regular stylist would give me a discount to fix it but still tried to charge me 250 with the 50% discount LOL. Loyalty nowhere to be found here.

Not recommended! One star just for their friendliness. I got my hair colour and keratin done. I consulted with them first and they said they can’t do both together. I have to get my hair colour done first and keratin a week after. And when my hair colour was done and I tried to book an appointment for keratin they said oh you were supposed to get keratin first. Hair colour went quite good and stayed upto a week lol! Keratin never showed any results. Didn’t even stayed for a few hours. Thanks for wasting my almost $600. I could have gone for shopping instead. Would never recommend to anyone.

Around a month ago I had my hair done at the salon. My regular hairdresser had moved away so I tried one of the other stylists recommended (Linda). My previous stylist left directions and colour formula of how she did my hair (I saw her for 4 years). The new hair stylist took over and she burnt an excessive amount of my hair off with the bleach out (I always had none to very minimal breakage, I have been doing a bleach out for years and years, so I know what is "normal")
New Stylist made it sound like it wasnt that bad and never apologized or was forthcoming about the extent of actual damage to my entire head of hair.

My hair broke off at the roots through out.

New Stylist had suggested to do the TIGI SOS Treatment once a week until I saw her again next time. I had it done at the salon as well as purchased myself the treatment, shampoo and conditioner.
When I told the receptionist and the manager about being told to do this treatment once a week the manager said it was excessive as it is keratin treatment and too much of it can have adverse reaction on my hair. Basically, it could make my hair worse. I was told not to follow the directions of this Stylist.

Through all of this I had contacted the hair salon multiple times to get in touch with the owner, Pasquale.
They had informed me he was busy and was unreachable.
This administrstive team said they will provide in house treatments to fix my hair. I had another hair stylist at the salon look at my hair when she did my first (and only treatment) and she herself even said it was bad. She then said the owner said to do whatever needed to be done to fix it.
I had expected to at least be given take home hair treatment to take home, in addition to my treatments, as they were 3 weeks apart.
When asked about it she had said that owner had to approve it.
I told the receptionist and manager that was my expectation and the manager said the owner will have to approve, she cant do it without approval. When someone was finally able to speak with the owner, I was offered 20% off of a take home treatment.
I was appalled.
When I told the manager I was not happy with the 20% off, she told me she could take away my in salon treatments if I was not happy with what I was being offered. Not only did the owner never return my phone calls, he was not even willing or offering to look at the damage on my hair, which will take YEARS to grow out. The owner never took any accountability for the damage HIS employee caused to my hair. I was hung up on.by him, and treated so unprofessionally by management, the stylist and the owner himself. I feel pure disgust at how careless the owner is given this is a second incident in in 5 years. I HAD been a client over 5 years. I will not be back, and I would never recommend this salon to anyone. If you want a caring salon TRUST ME THIS IS NOT IT.

Professional courteous establishment. Staff are highly qualified, really listen to what you want and make it happen. My hairdresser is a gem and I'm glad to be one of their customers.

I've been a customer for a few yeas now and I'm never disappointed every time I come in. SHERM is like a fairy hair Godmother, you just tell her what you like and she'll make it come true. She's beyond amazing and I don't see myself seeing anybody else. You'll leave the salon with a smile on your face for sure!:)

Worst customer service their asking for a $100 deposit during a pandemic and said they need 24 hours cancellation and they will not issue a refund if you cancel less than 24 hours so if someone got sick when they woke up same day with the appointment you don’t get your money back? Wow! I would understand if its like no virus out there but right now it’s hard to know anymore if your coworker get sick and you got a call from the health doctor to quarantine cuz you’ve been expose sheesh!

My hairstylist was great.but I came in wanting two bright colors in my hair and left with blond and a small amount of mahogany. My harstylist told me that I had said I didn't want anything to crazy which is not true. I wanted bright red and bright purple. I feel like she picked out blond and this dark red to make it easier for herself.
No disrespect she was a lovely lady but I am leaving feeling like I got told what I wanted.
Was immediately called to book a fix appointment. Appreciate the proffesional and kind way in which the staff handled my issues.
Highly recommend this place.

Terrible work I am so devastated I cried after I got it done. First she didn’t even tell me her name nor talk to me. My hair was so long and I asked for face framing layers she cut the back of my hair the layers are so choppy.

Thanks to Sherm I had a wonderful first time experience:) Right off the bat, she was very friendly and helpful. I struggled to decide on a colour (for my highlights) and she gave a great suggestion, which turned out to be amazing. My friend recommended me this place and I would recommend it to others as well. Loved the service.

First time going to a hairdresser in Burnaby and couldn't have chosen better! Sherm was my hairdresser at Aura and she is such a sweetheart! She did exactly what I asked for. 10/10 experience:)

Went there the other day to treat myself and get my hair professionally dyed after doing it myself throughout quarantine. Well that was a BIG mistake. The stylist (name starts with a L) was sloppy while applying the dye, even as I was saying that I was having problems with my roots not taking the dye. Despite that she applies it all over, all at the same time. Sure enough my roots come out blond and the tips middle/dark brown. She went ahead and put a darker colour on the roots, however, she did not do so carefully thereby getting some of the dye on my tips. Although I could not tell with the salon lighting and believing people who said it looked good, when I got home and looked carefully I discovered my hair looks like a hot mess. The roots are still lighter than the tips and the colour is blotchy due to the poor application. Moreover, I was charged more than quoted. It total I paid $130 for a hair colour treatment that I have done a better job at in the past by myself and with $15 hair box dye. Unbelievable, will never be back! >: (

Been going here for years, and the main reason is because of Margo. She's attentive and a really great hairdresser.

My 7 year old had the best experience here. Because of COVID, neither mom nor dad weren't able to be by her side. My daughter has high, high anxiety and I was a little curious as to how this was going to work out. They did a phenomenal job. They placed her right by a window and the cut was done really quickly. Very good safety standards and overall a great experience ️

Did not get my hair done but I was only looking for a specific hair product and the lady who worked was really rude and dismissive. They didn't have what I was looking for, and when I didn't want to buy an alternative, she was snarky and just walked away. Classy and professional! (not)

I went in for a haircut. Asked the person to add layers and not to take off my hair volume or the length but the guy who cut my hair added layers to hair and reduced the volume and now my hair looks like upper part is bob cut and the lower part looks like it’s different part altogether.
Ruined my hair. Will never go there. And it was way too expensive for this worse hair cut (70$) seriously! Doesn’t see the worth in the haircut

First time at Aura, I was assured that all of their stylists were experienced in both men and women cuts. However, upon the completion of my hair cut, I noticed that both sides were extremely uneven and the back was even more choppy than when I came in. Additionally, Jennifer did not ask me about my preferred length before she started. Not only is my hair uneven everywhere, the length ended up being significantly shorter than I anticipated (leaving little room for repair).

Professional setting with polite staff, however the hair cut leaves a lot to be desired.

How unfortunate i have to leave a bad review for poor customer service and i haven’t even been to this place. Called to make an appt for a colour and cut and inquired on the estimate which was $125 + for solid colour, which okay cool no issues with that. Then she says i’m required if i want that appointment to pay $100 deposit to “hold the appointment. ” Which, for me as i have never had a salon ask for a deposit to hold an appointment seems extremely sketchy and i felt like she was trying to take my money and then run with it. I had said i would pass and take a risk with doing a walk in (as it seems really sketchy to ask for a deposit), then she said okay and laughed/scoffed on the phone, then proceeded to hang up. Be cautious with this business.

I’ve been to their sister salon Revolutions and they had not asked for any deposit to hold an appointment.

I've been going to salon since last December John is great, love my hair cuts by him. He styled my hair for my Christmas party last did an amazing job. Everyone is very friendly at Aura. Front desk girls always helpful when my hair dresser has been away gives me a call to reschedule. Excellent customer service!

I love the cut, the colour could be brighter.
They did offer to brighten it up I just didn't have time. I was impressed with the offer.

I honestly hate calling this place. The hair stylists are great, I would give Cole 5 stars but the people at the front desk are terrible over the phone. Its not the first time they've lacked customer service skills over the phone. I ended up getting a haircut elsewhere after I got off the phone with them even though I've been going there for a long time.

Friendly staff, got the hair cut I wanted, and I felt save with their COVID19 safety protocols. I would go back.
