I originally started going to this studio because I needed something to get me out of the house that wasn't work/university related. I didn't have any friends that were interested in joining me but one night I had some extra confidence and decided to purchase one of AVA's new student packages of 5 classes. From day 1 the environment has been so welcoming and each instructor/staff member I interact with is lovely.

I' have gained so much confidence over the last few months not just in class but by pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I currently take 1-2 classes a week and this has easily been one of the best decisions I have made in the last few months.

I really wanted to like this place. I've been a member of their competitors however I no longer live near any of their studios so I figured I would give Ava a try. I've also been a member of studios in Ontario as well when I lived there.

I'm really sad to say that the classes are over booked. I can't get behind paying this much for a class when you have to share equipment half of the time cutting your workout/training in half.

Also the 24 hour cancellation policy is pretty unreasonable. You just forfeit a class if ANYTHING comes up within 24 hours of class. Which is crazy considering a lot of classes have waiting lists anyhow. So they make money for that spot Even if you cancel 23 hours before your class, and then that make money when someone else takes your spot. Even 12 hours would be more reasonable. It makes me think like they care way more about money than members wellbeing. *In the documents I signed it said 24 hours, so I didn't even attempt to cancel while I was with the studio. If it is in fact 12 hours you might want to make that known to your members*

Making passes that you have paid for expire - I thought that was illegal. And even if it's not, it's not really a great way to treat your members, or retain members, when people just feel taken advantage of.

I have been going to Ava for over a year now and it has been such a great experience. It’s a perfect location near the train. Great instructors who make sure everyone is safe. The community here is welcoming and I definitely felt at home! Grateful for the AVA fam!

I have been attending AVA for almost 2 years now, and the thing that keeps me coming back is this supportive community! I have found friends, a home, a family, etc.here & I also have experienced tremendous self growth in EVERY aspect of my being. I can climb a pole, I can show up for myself when mental illness is a challenge, I feel confident in my plus size body, and above all, i feel loved. So grateful for AVA

I’ve been working here for 2 years now, and AVA has become family! Such a lovely group of people to work and play with! The environment here is so encouraging, and allows people to grow quickly in their community as well as with their training

I love pole! The classes are fun, the teachers are knowledgeable and the energy is great. A dislike is that they overbook the classes which leaves a few people having to share a pole. Also, a huge dislike I have is that their class passes expire. They only give three months to use all your classes. I paid hundreds of dollars for class passes, then I had some personal things arise and I ended up losing 12 classes after only 3 months. Most places give you a lot longer than that. Not sure why they are so rigid with this policy as their classes are always packed and have a waiting list. Because of this I won’t be going back.

I appreciated the teaching style of some of the classes I attended, however I did not find the studio to be up to cleaning standards for what a studio should maintain, especially since a lot of training requires being on the ground.
The lack of boundary of walls between the pole studio and the other dance room also made it not that pleasant as the sounds from both rooms tend to crash into one another which takes away from the experience of a pleasant ambience in training. Lastly, some of the classes were just too packed for comfort. So i basically ended up in a $241.50 a month contract but not using the services because of the above issues (it was a far distance for me to get to and so the above issues made it unpalatable.) My advice is to definitely try out the services to make sure it is a good fit before going full into a contract as maybe it will be the place for you since many are happy/satisfied at Ava Fitness, but this is my experience with it, and also remember to give 30 days notice to end your contract if you are in a contract that has ended (i know, right? !) because it will just keep charging you after the end of the contract which happened to me.
