Not sure how those low ratings are coming from. Great food with good service, and the price is very reasonable given current high inflation.
The pork knuckle is the best in town, so crispy and juicy.

It's definitely not a place to try out. The food is terrible, coffee tastes like color water, even worse than fast food chain coffee. It's not worth spending your time, not to say your money. I would give no star if I could.

Not a bad spot for breakfast. Interior is quite fancy as it was previously a high tea place. Self playing piano is a nice touch but it only plays half the song and then switches to a new one.

In the past, you could have high tea with your besties. Now, there are no Western-style coffees or desserts It’s just a restaurant with many choices, and the price is as low as $20

Two weeks ago, I went to this restaurant with a friend for my first meal. I was apprehensive because the rating was only 3.2. My eyes lit up after entering the store, and after meeting the waiter, I felt that it was above average. After eating, I wondered where the bad reviews came from. The food and price are satisfactory.
Went there again with my family seven days ago, and I still recommend it!

Richmond, this is a very good restaurant, the food is very good, but the staff do not know how to treat a customer, and they need to have enough training experience to learn. They do not know what tableware to provide for customers, and the soup utensils need to be replaced. It's not like using a bowl filled with sugar to make soup, which doesn't look good.

I went to dine again on the night of November 3rd. Because the food was of good quality, I went there again. However, the milk tea I ordered was black and not enough milk. I asked the waitress to add more milk. She said it would cost more. I have never heard of it, later she saw that I was a regular customer, so she took a small amount of milk, and did not add any money when checking out. It was the first time for me to experience how much milk to add for milk tea in a restaurant. This waitress is much better than supervisor

The food was super unpalatable. I called it Zuo Cup Frozen Mandarin Duck. The cup didn’t taste like sugar. I asked for syrup but I didn’t know what it was. Finally, I was given a pack of real sugar. The service attitude was so bad.

The food is good, service was professional, and atmosphere was unique. For the price paid, I highly recommend them.

Made a specific Uber ride there from YVR Waterfront, only to arrive at the establishment and the sign flashing “Open” on the front window. So we exited the ride and proceeded to the front door, and to our dismay, it was locked! Called the Restaurant, and no answer. The hours of operation don’t reflect what’s on Google. Call first! And, for the record, we used the main door, to the establishment, so to say that we went to the adjoining business, it’s just wrong! I even took a picture of your front entryway.

When I came to this restaurant for the first time with my friends, the white marble dining table caught my eye as soon as I entered, especially the white piano that played beautiful music. The pink flower wall was especially suitable for checking in and taking photos with friends. The service staff here are very enthusiastic and responsive, always observing the needs of the guests, for fear of neglecting every guest. The decoration of the restaurant is very high-profile, but its food focuses on affordable prices. With prices soaring today, it is the best choice for a restaurant. Sitting in a palace-like restaurant, drinking fragrant coffee, chatting with friends in the soothing and relaxing piano music, and taking a bite of the fragrant German salted pork knuckle, I am very satisfied. The dining environment is expensive but the food is not expensive, so that those who invite you can have a meal and those who eat can be entertained. Will definitely come back next time.

HK style cafe but in a unique environment. The back wall is very beautiful and doesn’t look like any HK style cafe. There’s a piano in the restaurant. Plenty of parking available. I enjoyed the all day breakfast! The decor in the restaurant was from the previous high tea restaurant.

Food is good. Excellent service and friendly staff. This place is very cute and elegantly decorated. The HK style tea could be stronger in taste, a bit disappointed. The price is good though. Definitely this is the HK style cafe place we would visit again.

Their breakfast is quite good. Had HK satay beef macaroni with scrambled egg + toast. Taste quite like an authentic HK cafe. Interior is nicely decorated with heart, and is quite girly, definitely good for photos. Service is quite okay too.

Poor service. It took over an hour to get our meal. No one came by our table. We had to go find someone to pay our bill. Two hours wasted at a lousy restaurant. I won't go back.

Classic HK cafe food with a unique atmosphere. The decor is pretty with piano music playing in the background. Food was quite good and was surprisingly affordable, at least for breakfast!

This place is very pretty, good food, good price and good service. The only drawback to me is that the menu is too diversified. The deco of the restaurant is European and very elegant, so to me the traditional Chinese dishes don't match the atmosphere.

Terrible operation and management. Struggle to find the right words, food was okay but things were super chaotic.
Come only if you don’t mind the hours long wait for okay food, starring at the rosy wall for nothing.
They made no attempt in following up, they simply don’t bother.
I’ve been waiting for my iced lemon tea for an hour, customers start helping themselves and things just got worse, staff start getting crazy.

We were a big group but the few other tables with customers were getting more attention than we were. Instead of taking out orders, we were told to order using the QR code online because the two servers could not speak a word of English even though their menu is in English. Submitted the order as told and did it a few times but was informed they cannot receive the order. Server had to painstakingly take our order by hand by translating it to Chinese from the menu. More than an hour later, our order finally made it to the kitchen. I can't rate their food because I had to leave in 1.5 hours and they could not serve the food within that time. So, no dinner for me - just 1.5 hours of sitting in a restaurant talking to family and going to McDonald's later to grab something to eat. Needless to say, this was one of the worst services I have ever encountered in a restaurant. End of story.

The place was busy when we got there but we were willing to wait for a table. However, the waitress kept pushing us to go away which was extremely rude. Definitely won’t go back there.

The food is decent, if you ignore the fact that you may not receive what you ordered. Any attempts to get clarification from the one single server will be futile, as she only appears at each table to take and drop off orders.

We asked for confirmation that the lobster bisque we ordered was in fact lobster bisque, given that there was a scallop, imitation crab stick, clam with shell and a shrimp in the soup but no lobster. Unfortunately, we did not receive any follow-up from the very busy server and she walked away after dropping off our food as I was asking about the bisque and avoided my later attempt to wave her down.

So given the lack of service received, we left no tips. She amazingly chased me back to the table to tell me I didn't give tips. When I explained that yes, I did not give you any tips because you never provided an answer to my inquiry and I waited until we had finished all our food, she said she was busy. I then asked if she was now able to answer my question, and rectify the issue in order to earn the tips that come with SERVICE. She walked away before I even finished the sentence.

While I sympathize with the fact that she was run off her feet and had no help, this does not mean I am obligated to give you tips when you have not provided any service beyond dropping off my food and especially did not provide any attempt to answer my question (we ordered through our phones, went up ourselves to the counter to pay).

One might assume that with its fancy decor and special feature wall this restaurant is only good for looks - surprisingly the food isn't half bad either! Good prices these days with new menu items and some old favourites! The ham hock is a must try!

I'm so full of food 嗌 Whatever it is, the point is that the attitude of the staff is extremely bad, I think it's my trouble, a word: "I'm so busy", if I'm not busy, can the attitude be so bad?

Avery is a popular place for our gatherings. The beautiful French decor and the white piano inside are a highlight. The menu offers Chinese, Taiwanese, American & European dishes at moderate prices. Servers are nice and warm too!

Very low effort restaurant. Soup feels like baby food. Unseasoned vegetables.

Decor is good for afternoon tea but weird for dinner. Looks like a lot of fake 5 star reviews too. Skip.

Let me start off by saying that I used to come to avery quite frequently and some of their old staff were lovely. But after today's experience I will never come back here again. Today I visited during lunch hour and when we arrived there were only 3 other tables seated (one large group and 2 smaller groups), we sat and ordered quickly but for the next 35 minutes there were NO FOOD being served except a free soup and drink that comes with the meal. The whole time no one came to attend us, we just sat there and watched more people coming in. When we noticed another table that was seated after us getting their food first we asked the waitress how long do we have to wait. The first waitress said she will check but did not even come back to us. Then we asked a second waitress (she has reddish orange hair) and explained that we have plans later, she just yelled at us 'it's coming' while serving at another table, but we were still waiting. We ended up decide to leave and headed to the counter to pay for the drink that was served, but the red haired lady was really angry about it and were talking to us angrily. I told her we waited for so long and no one even said anything to us the whole time, she said 'can't you see that we have a large group here? ' As if it's the customers problem.when we were talking at the counter the food finally came out and we agreed to take it as a take out, the red haired waitress was also talking angrily while packing our food and gave so much attitude towards us. We ended up asked for change as we decided not to tip (she took our money without giving us change), then she proceeded to say we already served you. Where is the service when we received no food? By service do you mean the part where you were giving us attitude when we started asking where is our food? Because no one really served us until we started to ask for our food, and look at the results we got. To the lady who said to us 'this is not mcdonalds', i can assure you that i have never had such a bad experience or met rude staff at mcdonalds, they are much better at their job. It is the first time in my life not leaving a tip at a restaurant and you fully deserve this honor.
