A&W Canada

A&E used to be a family place, but this location is anything but! Me and my son came here for breakfast and the staff were chasing homeless man out with a broom stick, like he was some kind of animal. It was sad for me and my son to see, as it’s close to the holidays. He bought a coffee and fell asleep after finishing it. He wasn’t bothering anyone, as people sat and ate beside him. Until staff just started slamming their broom stick on the table by his head. (Lucky this man didn’t respond in anger, but he could have. I wouldn’t have blamed him honestly.)

Would have been much nicer to send him on his way with a coffee and kind words. “Sir you can’t sleep here, but let’s refill your coffee on your way. ”
Just goes to show how far society has fallen. How inhumane people can be …
I found this man outside and brought him to McDonald’s for a hot meal, and they welcomed him in. He went about his business after.

I understand there’s a lot of homeless people, but the way they chased him out with a stick was just ridiculous. Maybe they should hire security if needed but treating people like that is unacceptable. Haram.

Was ignored by the staff twice on two different occassions. I should've known better since the first time. There are tons of options outside. Don't even bother.

It was raining and dark out, November 12, at 8 p.m. Not many places open for food on Commercial and Broadway anymore, no one can afford the rent. I wanted dinner, a coffee, and a bathroom The staff refused to let me use the bathroom. It was really raining hard, I really needed the bathroom, but the staff refused. They hung out of order signs on the bathroom doors, and had absolutely no humanity towards me. Fine, I kept my money and left in search of another restaurant that was prepared to treat me as a human being when I paid them money for their services product/services. This is the worst A&W in Vancouver. The staff are rude, the place is dirty.

Was not being served. No acknowledge ment, Left me standing. So I left. How can I even rate you a 1.

The staff at this particular location are rude and abusive towards thier patrons. They constantly allow drug addict to actively use thier bathrooms. The people working here are few but for a few rotten apples who are aggressive and abusive to thier clientele. I will never buy another thing from this restaurant.

1st how can both bathrooms be out of order? With no signs on the doors.
Elderlies were having breakfast & this is a huge inconveniences for them.

2nd time getting breakfast sandwich from A&W.
I avoided getting the one on a bun because last time it was full of mayonnaise or some greasy substance. It was gross.
The sandwich was quite disappointing, first glance.could the employee try to build it properly? (See pic)
The English muffin was not toasted creating a pasty feel while eating.
There was margarine on it for extra greasy sandwich.
I was getting just a sandwich it came in a BG's without asking, it is wasteful not to ask.

How hard is it to make a breakfast sandwich? I guess Mc Donald's has mastered this since the 60's. So what's the point in encouraging a Canadian company

I was more than enthusiastic to try some quintessential Canadian Take-out. Eager, me and my girlfriend were instantly met with uninterested and unhelpful service, the menu and meal deals being vague, the questions we asked were met with grunts and unhelpful remarks, the original cashier walked off on us before being replaced by another who wasn't much better. The overall order was wrong and the quality, lacklustre. We’ve had more affable interactions at McDonalds. The only thing worthy of consuming was the radioactive dip.

Overall cleaning on tables not done. Quality of food has gone downhill. Cook chicken strips in sandwich grill, under cooked, fries undercooked and soft. Definately not the best location for quality on food for A & W

The manager was talking to the cashier, both completely ignoring me, for a few minutes. Not even acknowledging I was there. I ended up just leaving

Beware to customers that the regular coffee is advertised at 1.00$ and that it comes to 1.05 $ approximately. These location charges for cream which comes to 1.30 $! Others will charge you the 1.05$. Like White Rock.

Loved the vegan options. Wish the beyond burger came with a vegan cheez substitute, but was good nonetheless.

Dear AB Vendures franchise owner and Area Manager Jarryd. Employee Monica who is working in this store is very rude towards customers. I went there on Monday 13: 40 on January 31st. Please teach here customer service. She is very rude towards customers. She put her hand’s inside my burger while serving it. Very bad service.

Ok this is the worst A&W location ever! First of all the worst employees work here. I was there a few days ago and a customer complained about the pancakes being burnt. The employees just argued with the customer yelling at him that the pancakes weren’t burnt. I checked myself and they were burnt. Then the employees started swearing at the customer and I was shocked. There were kids in their and they were exposed to all that swearing and yelling. How did these people get hired? Do they even go through any customer service training? In the past I heard employees here saying very bad things about their customers in Punjabi, even to their regular customers. This time they actually yelled at a customer and told him to “fuck off. ”
I will never come back here again. This place is disgusting and a total disgrace!

Love A&W. Always an OK experience at this location. Burgers come out messy but come out right (nothing missing nor overcharged). Staff is friendly. Taste of food is better at other locations.

Gave me a burger so old it was black and they changed it when i complained. They can cause illness should be checked by health Canada for compilance.with standards. It is buyer beware. Will follow up.

Tried the new Jalapeño Lime burger… not sure if it’s supposed to be drier than a desert (almost no sauce) or if they just don’t want to spend any money on sauce.

Service was okay. I had to reveiw my order a couple of times though. English wasnnot her first language so it was harder for her to understand.
The ketchup dispenser looked a litty clogged up as well and tables were a bit dirty.
But they are located in a smaller location with heavy traffic due to transit pedestrians

They have started to charge for bag and cups when you order. So A&W has lost my business. So to the lady that was taking my order and I did apologize to, I apologize again. I know it is not your fault. You are doing an awesome job,

No proper cleaning. Tables aren’t even sanitized and food is spread on the floor. Came here with a lot of hopes to eat good but everything got messed up.

As a mildly drunk person who walked there at 11: 00pm i was sorely disappointed when the 15 chicken strips I ordered with 2 sweet and sour sauce only came with one chipotle mayo.

The service was not the greatest as you can tell he did not enjoy morning but the breakfast was excellent. Everything was done right and tasted great.

Asked for extra mushrooms on the buddy mozzarella burger and received not an extra one. Asked for few pickles on the double chicken buddy burger and received twice as much as usual.

Very good service nice workers the washrooms are so duty they don't clean it out I'll clean out they need to clean it sometimes the toilet is out of order for the men but you can't use the urinal also they did one time they close off the washroom and told us we can't use the washroom either and I can see the delivery service people using the washroom but the general public cannot use that at all

Staff are tolerable but seem to be a bit racist against white people, in my opinion.they are judge mental. Food Is up to standards.restroom could have been a bit more maintained.

Delicious Food. A&W has been an Excellent, Phenomenal, Amazing, Awesome Eating & Drinking Experience. I LOVE Teen Burgers, Fries, Onion Rings, Hot Dogs, Root Beer, Apple Turnovers, Buddy Burgers with Cheese, And The Entire Menu @ This Fine Establishment!

It's a nice place, clean environment, staff was nice and helpful, service was quick. What more can you ask for in a fast food place?

This location is in a rough area right beside SkyTrain and a major bus hub. The staff here tend to be suspicious and abrupt and the food is just so so as they don't really seem to care about the service or the quality of what they are serving.

Cashier was great!
She answered all my questions and gave suggestions.

By the way, if you order the kids meal they also have made Good snacks (esp for kids with sensitivities). Way to go!

Super nice staff. South Asian crew and extremely sweet. Sadly so many customers are drunk and high on this corner therefore quite rude towards the cashier.

I prefer this morning breakfast over any other fast food chain. Mcdonalds can be over rated however they have only the best price. I would be all over this place if they have better coupons. My top 5 fastfood chain. 1. Wendys 2. Aw 3. Churchies chicken 4. Carls junior 5. Burger king. I know we all love our fastfood. Go aw sausage bacon egger

My experience at the ANW commercial Broadway was very bad. I ordered two egg and sausages and as I was on the sky train I found out that it was the wrong order so I quickly called and a young lady named Simranjeet Was nice enough to replace the two sandwiches. I went in the next morning to get those breakfast sandwiches replaced and was disappointed by the service the reaction and the ego that came with me just trying to get the order that was made wrong the first time. The gentleman who took my order was really bad the way he made me feel sad I ended up getting in an argument with this gentleman and had to pretty much leave with an upset start to my day. As I ate those sandwiches I found that the last one made had egg shells in it. I then called back to speak to the manager the guy who I had just argued with claimed he was the manager claimed he was the regional manager and he was the only one I could talk to and hung up the phone on me. I then called back again and he had again hung up the phone on me disrespectfully and this happened a few times. From that point forward I decided to walk in there and the intent that they cannot hang up the phone if I am in person as I go in there the lady who answered the phone and took the order got flustered for some reason and decided to threaten me by calling the police and I was not yelling, She felt threatened for whatever the reason to have to tell me that she wanted to call the police. I had left came back after work and met another gentleman named Hiril. Hiril told me I was harassing. So I left my phone number to be contacted after about a day I had gotten a phone call and this man had explained that he had talk to the employees and explain to them the rights and wrongs even before I had made my complaint so I guess I did not have to complain for him to solve the issue I guess it was within his organization they told him what happened and that was the end of it he saw the issue that even made me more upset. I do not want to use this word but I shall racism has different forms fear of somebody skin colour is a form of racism I believe the other form that I have experience dealing with them is the eagle the guy who took the order after they got it wrong how do you eagle he told me he was only going to give me one sandwich out of the tube then there was the fear of the lady tell him I’m gonna call the cops and then the next time it’s harassment or because of skin color. Another form of racism. Another way Racism has changed in my mind in organization only hires employees that only speak a certain language only come from the same culture. This is an A&W that has mostly east Indian and even human beings with skin colour will show hatred or fear or ego, Towards dark skinned human being. No the man who called to resolve the issue had already dealt with the issue before talking to me makes no sense so the race schism shall continue the fear shall continue the ego driven decisions will continue. These days we do not need fear against a dark skin man we do not need any hatred only understanding only compassion these are the times that we should really look at each individual and treat each equally. Again the eagle is because they threw eggshells in my ex sandwich the fear was when the woman wanted to call the cops on me and when the man asked and said this was harassing I went to ANW they made a mistake and the problem was never solved because the guy who called me had saw the problem before the complaint happened I’ve never seen that happen never heard of it happened but basically I am in shock of this treatment after what the world has been through the last few years and it’s East Indian doing it. Wow

At least one of the two washrooms is not open to the public. Generally an overcrowded establishment.

Typical middle Eastern run business. No smiles no friendliness and and the only time they speak English is when they take your order

Been going to the same A & W for the last 6 or 7 months, same breakfast (all canadian) every single time. The staff atcthis bramch are amazing, very nice polite and helpful. Will keep coming here till the foreseeable future lol!

Loved this location. FAST service, friendly staff, and I even managed to get a table to eat - so the burger and fries were really fresh. Tasted delicious.

Standard a&w food, made well, no errors in our orders, excellent courteous and fast service. Respectful to people, patient even when someone is clearly unwell or disruptive. Conveniently located next to the skytrain.

Minus one star from me just because it's in a high traffic area. Making the space small for the amt of traffic in and out. Eating in gives you a view of concrete and/or asphalt and a steady stream of people passing by in both windows. You may like the location if you like to people watch, I guess. But I'd suggest to try another if you don't like feeling surrounded by strangers.

I really like this place of all the burger fast food joints A&W has got to be the best one let's put it this way root beer float in an actual mug that you can purchase if you like or not cause that's just how they roll not to mention they have been in the burger game for as long as I can remember anybody who is a burger connoisseur has to eat here the staff are courteous wich makes all the difference whether you dine in or take out you will want to come back

This is surely one of the tastiest place to eat in the area. Whenever I come to this place I am deeply pleased. They keep their high level service and the topmost level of cooking they provide. You will be always satisfied with this place. Highly recommended.

I eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I like how their customer service is always good and they keep the place neat constantly. Rates are reasonable and they serve generous portions.

Usually always a good burger and food, but it's rather small and cramped, location makes it super loud too.

I meet friends in this lovely place many times a year! This is my favorite restaurant to have a bite. I visit this spot frequently. The food is very tasty, the team is welcoming and the prices are decent. I enjoy being in this place to have a tasty meal.

Dec 9,2019 at 7: 50am I bought a Breakfast Wrap and it was badly wrapped! They don’t know how to serve food

Bad service and lazy waiter, would not recommend. Inside is messy and all over the place with little to no help.

Given the location there are a lot of homeless in the area.but there were 2 people hunched right at the door. So close you couldn't open the door all the way. Servers were slow and got our order wrong 2 times.
