Their new spicy chicken burger is horrible! Hardly any sauce on it, burger is over cooked and greasy.

Went threw the drive threw and the worker was very rude, I mentioned this to management and they made things right.hopefully they move that one guy to the kitchen instead of working with the public

It's a fast, busy fast food place. The breakfast sandwiches are great tasting. Very clean restaurant as well as washroom is kept sanitary. Pretty good I door seating for alot of people. The outside is always kept clean and tidy the staff is always friendly. The burgers have to many condiments for my liking but that's personal preference.

The chicken burger was dry and drowning in mayo. With that, the fries were cold and not very great! Will definitely skip this place next time.

The new owners are great! Love A&W, good food made fresh and deliciousness is made to order.

Food is delicious and fresh. More complex flavours than mcdonalds. Clean and well maintained store. The only problem is they are a little slow. But the wait is worth it.

A friend of mine and I were on a little road trip out to Port Renfrew a few weekends ago, we stopped in on our way back to Victoria for a quick bite to eat, because I love me a good teen burger. Anyways, the dining room was subpar for cleanliness and the trays used for collecting empty mugs and fry baskets were piled high!
Behind the counter were a couple of young kids as expected in one of these establishments. Which is great, It is good for young people to have a job, and learn early in life how to earn money and be responsible!
A&W, actually was my first place of employment when I was a young boy (15)
Anyways, to my point. While I waited for my meal I mentioned to the young fellow behind the counter that the trays for empty mugs and baskets were piled high and that he should probably do something about it.
The only reason I mention is to him was because they needed attention but also because he was standing there doing nothing, same with the young girl that was working with him.
They were far too busy being on their phones and goofing around instead of doing their job and maintaining front of house. I was met with an ignorant and arrogant reply!
I did not react. My meal finally came and I sat down to eat.
As I was enjoying my delicious teen burger an older woman working there who looked like she might’ve been in her mid to late 50s. It was her that started maintaining the front of house. I spoke to her briefly and mentioned to her that the young kids should be doing this not her. It is her that should be delegating these duties to the kids. I was then met with mockery and attitude from this young fellow!
All I can hope is that the owners of this establishment get a chance to read my review and do something about the ignorance and arrogance of the children that are not doing the job they should be doing.
In my opinion the older woman should be the one designating these jobs to these children not the other way around! Hopefully the next time I return to this establishment these issues have been corrected.

This A&W used to be my favourite place in Sooke. When I had to use the drive-thru my opinion changed. My order was always the same, but the mistakes and forgotten items changed frequently. My world record was five wrong orders in a row. I live a good distance west of the downtown area, and I am not going to drive back to town for the wrong coffee order or the missing fries or the wrong burger.but I do call. The reception is varied, from "sorry about that" to excuses, arguments and insults. I have been told five times that my forgotten item will be recorded in "the book". Do you have an IOU book? But when I asked about this the last time I was inside the restaurant, the staff member laughed at me. Two stars for the Teen burgers that weren't screwed up. I just hate going there now.
Update: I responded to the owner's request. Haven't heard back.

Still serving cold root beer in tall glass pre-frozen mug. Received orders under 5 minutes though dining area was ¾ full. I was impressed.

A&W doesn't change much over the years, that's what makes it a true classic. The familiar flavors and service can be counted on and is always a great treat especially when you're looking for just that. Thank you A&W for being A&W.

Enjoyed eating here very much. Atmosphere? Surprised to learn they still serve the old fashion way for eat in. Burgers on steel trays, self serve cold root beer in tall frozen glass mugs & not in paper cups.
Exceptional polite happy cheerful staff. Dining area ¾ occupied not to mention a continuous stream of pick up orders in the drive thru'.
Keep it up guys, 2 thumbs up is my recommendation. Victoria's downtown A&Ws is no comparison with this Sooke location.

Poor service tonight, eating in but our food was put in a takeout paper bag. No frosty mug for our Rootbeer just paper cups with no ice! Staff behavior inappropriate! Not impressed at all!

Wonderful, which is not something I’d normally say of a fast food place. A staff member attached a hand-written thank you note to our drive-through order, a lovely touch.
