I am from squamish and I thought we had a bad a&w until I went to this one. Lady was extremely rude on the order box and was very hard to understand. Got my food and was short one meal. My girlfriend went back in to complain and was outright called a liar. Had to ask for the Manger in order to get my food and even still the lady was very rude. Food was mediocre as well. Will never be back. I highly recommend avoiding this place and it's hostile staff. Absolute garbage

Food was served up hot and was delicious. Staff were friendly and smiling. Frosted mug of rootbeer was THE BEST given it was a hot day.

Stopped at A&W in parksville for breakfast we ordered food to go. The lid was not on correctly on the pancakes, they spilled on the floor and the representative Ms. Aswathy refused to replace the pancakes and insisted it was our fault and I would have to pay for another one, so my child could have her breakfast. The second order did not have the lid on correctly, again.

The table in the restaurant next to us was also complaining how they ordered a sausage and egg and received a bacon and egg instead. They told them they should have confirmed on the screen.

I would not recommend this A&W and it is obvious why there re no customers.

Every time I come here and I ask for two bacon and Eggers two hrs before close and they never have them because "their cleaning the grill" The guy at the window told me that their regular size root beer was the largest root beer they had when actually I know infact you can order a large rootbeer size but he gave us a reg but nontheless still charged us for a large. They seem like they're in a rush everytime I go there. Kind of makes me sad because I really love bacon and eggers but they don't seem too want to serve all day breakfast until close. Maybe one day I will go there and get my bacon and eggers before they close but I don't know. They also never seem to give receipts. Just kind of weird lol

Great place to get a traditional breakfast instead of on a bun. Large dining area was comfortable and clean. Free Wi-Fi.

Best burger store in parksville, employees are all well trained and has good knowledge about the foods being served. Clean place with spacious seating availability.

Place went down hill, i stop for onion rings sometimes and the portions are weak. The machine to pay is completely dirty like its got stuff on it. And the staff just doesn’t care clearly.

Worst franchise of A+W I ever had. Fed the burger to the seagulls and will never go back to THAT particular store.

On Jan. 5/23 we had take-out from the Parksville store and could tell immediately that the oil they are using is well past its prime. Bad smell.

How is ANW out of their famous onion rings? I'm rather confused, that was the whole reason for our visit. Left with disappointment

The BEST place to go if you like waiting 40 minutes for a hotdog and have the workers forget your order TWICE.

I witnessed multiple workers simply rinsing their hands under the faucet and not using soap when going between the kitchen and cash register.

They were also locking one of the main fire exits to try to stop customers from entering. Major fire safety hazard!

EDIT: I have visited this location again since this review and the wait times and staff friendliness has been improved substantially.

Friendly staff, clean establishment and food was ready quickly and accurate.
Just stopped in for a quick bite to eat.

Have a coffee group there early Friday morning. Great coffee, just a nice place to meet.lots of good parking.

Terrible food, burgers were old and barely warm. Hour later made us both feel rather sick to our stomach. Service is painfully slow and staff seem so unorganized with little to no coordination. Other a&w restaurants are so much better, avoid the parksville location at all costs!

Had 30 min lunch break at work. Not much options. Decided on "fast" food. Very slow service. Waited in drive through waiting to order. I ended up driving to window. There wasn't anybody even waiting at the window. If you have a lot of time to kill, this is the place to go. And then forgot an item. I had no time to check since I had to rush back to work. Wouldn't recommend this place.

The restaurant has had a make over. The staff do need training as to how to handle more than a few people in their restaurant. They were closing and locking the restaurant when they had too many folks in. The food also was rushed and I felt like a farm animal being fed.

No Lettuce or tomato and the wrong kind of onion in my uncle burger. The onion rings were over cooked to the point of being burnt and the interact machine I had to use at the drive through was disgusting, covered crud and obviously not even given a wipe down in months. The man in charge should visit this place and give them an education on how to do things properly. Not A&W's finest.

Either they order it wrong or the cook need glasses… this is the third & last time I eat here.

We have eaten here for years but this time I tried to use the mobile app to place the order and after entering the whole order it said this location does not do mobile orders. Would have been nice if the app would know that. Drove to the restaurant and placed the order which was just three burgers and one fry. 20 minutes later still waiting, asked if it was much longer and they said the order got missed and she had the order slip in her hand! Finally got home and found one burger was missing its cheese. No one ever said they were sorry for the bad service and delay. Everyone makes mistakes but an apology goes a long way.

Gimme a boiga.
And a chicky strips.
Ordered 5, they forgot 2, but I came back and they gave me the missing two - and an extra 3! No hassle too, just great service.

I give a 2 star review but 1 star extra for the lady for the who was super polite in drive thru u kept refusing for getting our order wrong. We ordered drive thru and they got our order wrong. I told them right away and they went to correct it and came back the second time still wrong…when I told the guy he said the lady says it’s right I showed him and then he walked away…lady came out and acknowledged it was wrong and said sorry multiple times and corrected it so finally third time is a charm…she also gave a free apple pie without us asking for anything. The coffee was beyond disgusting as was the food. Would never eat here again.

Have you ever wanted over priced chicken fingers? Have I got a place for you when you have smoked way to much weed and are making all the wrong life choices.

Very slow service… Poor English… Mediocre burger… Dry fries… Pretty lousy experience for an A&W but the lettuce was crisp

They ask us to review for a free root beer, I don’t think I’ll get a free root beer. I don’t even know how you’d monitor that system. They don’t even ask for 5 stars so I could just give 1 star and expect a free root beer every time? Do they keep logs in the back?

Walked in and order took forever. No straws came with our drinks, which were about half full. The guy who put order in bag was running between kitchen and packing food, which also may be why I felt sick later that night. I was quite disappointed with the service.

What can I say? It's fast food! Sat down and eat inside. Food was hot and the frozen mug was great with root beer pop. Had to stand in line watching four people do drive in while I stood there waiting to get coffee. Not like they could not see me? I finally got tired of waiting and sat back down! Not good service.

Absolute worst A&W I have ever had the displeasure of eating at. And it isn't like I have had one bad experience. We live just down the rd and have tried countless times. Well I suggest you just keep driving. This place screws up every order. The food will be cold. The portions will be light. The pop will be watered down. Like not putting cheese on your kids cheese burger will help there year end. Or serving you a ice cold burger that has been sitting on the rack for an hour will save the bank. Let's water down the signature root beer. Never give ketchup.sad

Worst customer service experience ever will not be returning. 3 different times in the last month had a very rude nasty employee throw my food into my vehicle.the first time it happend I figured. Anne having a bad day.but after 3 separate occasions it's clear this person should not be working the window or with any customers at all.will not recommended to anyone

This as the dirtiest fast food place I have ever seen there where almost no clean tables and nobody else there. Then floors looked like they had not seen a mop in a few days anyway and to top it off the food was mediocre at best.
