A&W Canada

The staff here are great. Always friendly, responsive. They check my order twice. That's important cos I always ask for custom toppingsadd- ons. Some restaurants would like 3 times at you if you ask to change their recipe a bunch. A&W is happy to 'make it mine' which makes good food better (for me!)

One thing, I honestly think that the whole block there at Main & Terminal has some very stressed people passing through. Relatively permanent security, visible, could improve business and sense of safety for customers.

One day, it shocked me and the person taking my order when a man outside shouted slurs incredibly loudly and angrily then threw his cup of pop against the window right where I stood. It's not the first time a man has thrown a bottle or cup at me this year, it has to do with homophobic culture being on the intensifying angry run from justice, and I happen to have long hair, whatever. I just wanted to get a burger at my favourite A&W location. This incident occurred in broad daylight. It's weird to be a target of propaganda and hatred just for wanting a burger in public. I voted 3 for "atmosphere. "

I fully recommend A&W and this location is convenient.

Homeless dude sleeping outside, smells like pee. She handled the register with her bare hands then my sandwich

This may be the rudest fast food/restaurant I've ever been. I walked in and ordered three double buddies with chesse and a medium diet coke. While waiting for my order, one of the co-workers accused me of recording them. I was not even facing the counter, nor was my phone in that direction. My phone was actually pointed to down to the floor. The co-worker then proceeded to be convinced I was recording her and said she was going to call security if I didn't stop. I agian said I'm texting, and my cell is not pointing in your kitchen or to any A&W member. She then asked to see my phone to prove I wasn't. I showed them my screen with my text messages to my girlfriend. Still not convinced that I wasn't recording, she said I need to apologize or I'm not going to receive my order. I simply asked for my money back and got a no. I walked out empty-handed. Never again, well, I return, not after this.

Gave it a second chance…. Again Slow service, making you stand there for over 10 minutes, had to ask for my drink.they leave the speciality drink machine blinking (meaning it has to be filled up) I had hot chocolate and it tasted like steamed milk. Short staffed or not, you’re serving a lot of people. Things should be better. I know is at most fast food restaurants but I really noticed it here. Please talk to your staff and do better… or youlll lose alot of regular customers

This place is the worse. I ordered my food at 9: 00 and the guy told me they do not have the thing that I want to order at 9: 10. And as a result, I was late for work and for my meeting. Three staffs working on Friday morning but no one seems care about their work. The manager should take it seriously and A&W should also pay attention on the training even though it is franchise. This location the customer service is totally unacceptable. The 3 staffs working on Friday morning Oct 7 need to work on training and customer service.

The service at this place is terrible. I was ignored for over 2 minutes even though I was the only customer. I asked if “this place is open “and after this she took my order with great dissatisfaction that I interrupted the conversation. Food quality like everywhere else.

Worst A and W or even fast food spot. No place to eat, rude staff barking orders and they take forever to make orders. Ordered two combos and it took 20 mins real time after the order went in. And they still messed it up

Very rude young men working in that store. Come to think of it, the gals who seemed to run the place before weren't friendly either. It seems they hire an ethnicity first and worry about customer experience second. Add arrogance now? I'll visit when Teens are 4$. Maybe.

Food was prepared a little misshapen, but worst of all, no service or concept of customer service, no washrooms and seating is minimal and looks like they don't wash the tables all day.

The service here is better than all the other A&W's. It was amazing. The Lettuce in my buger was huge. Very impressed.

Ordered chubby chicken burger combo and a wrap. Patty was super thin, drink was only half filled, didn't offer any ketchup, my wrap wasn't in the bag and the cashier thought that was everything for my order. Worst A&W I've ever been to.

Today, i went to this store and i was trying to order my food in English and there was a guy named Vipul who said you look indian can go give your order in Punjabi. I find this very rude and disappointing.

Standining is another experience haha, it's just same as other A&W, busy district location and good service.

I just went to this place to have a chubby chicken burger combo and there was a guy who talked to me in a very rude way. I think he also has some hearing problem, because he was asking me the same question for atleast 5 times.

I love this place. For fast food they have always been my favorite. Like I said before it's only a few dollars more than McDonalds or any other fast food chains but you get what you pay for.

I ordered a beyond meat burger and onion rings on Uber eats from this location and it was terrible. The burger was missing almost everything I wanted on it and I’m 95% certain in was a meat patty. The onion rings were cold (which I won’t fully blame them for cause my order took forever to get to me) but they were so salty I couldn’t continue eating them. Highly, highly disappointed.

It seems like this would be a challenging location to work at but the employees are always very fast and polite.

Customer Service at all A&W in Vancouver is TERRIBLE. I'm in a wheelchair and received heinous discrimination from management. They say the toilets are broken, but they aren't They are just too lazy to clean. So much more to complain about, but too little time.

I don't like this A&W, heard of to many shady thing's that happen here and last time that I ordered food from here it tasted like a men's sweaty gym shirt. Was so gross, I don't even really want to give them any star's

Went there for quick lunch with my kid whilst shopping in that area, they dont have sitting area so we had our food while standing, my kid has to use restroom but they don't even have a guest restroom.burger was okay but a little bit expensive.

I work there for weeks, Indian co workers speaking in Punjabi, always just standing there and stare at me, giving me all the nasty work, when i stood up about it, they fired me

Coming from someone who worked here for a day (It was supposed to be first day of me in training) :
So its my first day and the girls working alongside me, right on, took a bully stance. The manager was absent at the time. Some other girl, in her absence, started pushing all the ugly chores on me, like taking out the trash, not even providing me with gloves to lift the bins which were so gooey and smelly, like no kidding. When i was not able to lift the bins on my own and I asked for her help, she just declined and told me to push my physical strength!
Also,
I had never worked in this type of kitchen setting before, so I expected some sort of training be provided before they expect the output from me, but the manager tells me to keep my eyes on the screen, ears on the front and hands on the work and finish that particular order in 1 minute while the timer on the fryer was still at 3 minutes or so.

Bullying staff, no attention to personal hygiene, would rate zero if I could

The employees there are not only rude, they don't understand how to speak English, and are slow at making your order. I don't recommend going to this A&w

Quick stop near science world SkyTrain station. They are normally kinda busy but still fill orders at a reasonable time. (No drive through)

Open 24 hours (except random "cleaning" times in the middle of the night). Lots of homeless, be safe.

I couldn't get service due to a robbery that took place just before I entered and all they could do is look at you like I had 10 heads and said nothing.

Told me that not cant change that moment i my self ridiculous i know that I am allowed to change my order even though I already pay, thos is Canada, or even other country custumer allowed to change.order terible.

Great service, super fast and very friendly. Some locations are a little slow, my food was ready within minutes and the cashier was super friendly. Great job!

Even on weekends I have to waite for drive thru for half an hour. There was two slow grils that they don’t know what are they doing.
I saw some skip drivers in this cold weather the do not even open the door for them. The staff don’t care. Hate this place

Great burgers and onion rings.great food but they have messed up my order more than once but the food is so much better then the place down the street that starts w a Mc.a little pricey these days but if your willing to pay.its worth it.

Although my meal was prepared quickly and a very sanitary way I was rudely asked by the cashier to wait outside shortly after I had paid (around $30 something) for my meal! Even though there was nobody else behind me. Of course I refused to wait outside especially since she hadn't given me a receipt.

Small location but friendly staff and in a convenient spot. The food is what you would expect at an A & W.

3 occasions I ordered from here I was missing 4 items each time. How do you screw up that amount of missing food.

Always a fan favorite of the Teen Burger, great work on the no meat alternative. Long time coming.

No seating, pretty inhospitable. The food is as expected, so it's ok if you only want food to go.

The food is fine, but there are some big accessibility issues. No washroom, no chairs, no tables - just a tall counter along the window. I know it's a small space in a somewhat sketchy area, but it still seems like they could do better than this.

I just (Dec 13, Friday 9: 08am) ordered Sausage & Egger and hot apple turnover what ever. Foods were cold. What a home of cold Family.

Disgusting. I bought a breakfast sandwich and the woman working didn’t even wear gloves as she touched EVERY INGREDIENT OF MY SANDWICH WITH HER HANDS. Who knows where they go during break? Disgusting. Learn Foodsafe.

Used/scanned a coupon for free chicken wrap with any combo, ordered a teen combo. My order was clearly vocalized but as I received my bag, I asked her if a teen burger was in there, she withdrew the bag away from me placed it behind her on the counter and proceeded to tell me I didn't order a teen burger. The manager came to the counter, told me I was right and told me I can't have the burger until I pay for it, the food that was taken from my hands had been sitting on the counter for at least 5 minutes before I requested a refund and walked out. Sad state of service never before experienced in Canada.

Sign says "Open 24 hrs" but when I went in at 2: 30 am, they said they were closed. The online hours are even listed at 24 hrs.

Well i had to make a choice for dinner since i was on the sky train coming home i thought I'd like to try that cod burger they advertise on tv and a&w was at main street skytrain so i got off tjere first being disabled i had to get help opening the doors it wasn't the cleanest fast food restaurant ive been in so i ordered two cod burgers and a small onion rings it was 18 $ i thought they must be homemade? It was two fish sticks on a bun i wasnt impressed but i guess fast food what do you expect i gave it 3 stars because the staff was friendly even though a customer had to help me get the steel doors open so i could leave all in all not impressed.

The brand has been my favourite fast-food chain and I respect the choice that the site owner turning it into a standing restaurant.

But there should be clear signs indicating such differences before I took a long walk along Ang bought a bag of food seeking for chairs.

I went to this location back when they had seats and a washroom available and the service timing was usually reasonable. The customer service has slipped since then. There are now no seats and the washroom isn't available to customers anymore. I can understand taking away the seats to prevent some of the sketchier people from lingering. The employees there deserve to feel safe. But the food service part has slipped. It seems like they're all friends more interested in their conversations than serving customers.
One time I ordered a breakfast and the guy in charge of my order was literally slowly buttering my bread talking to the girl he worked with as I waited (I needed to get going!). This has happened a few times now where they are chatting and talking and not paying attention to getting the orders out to customers. I am happy that they don't seem to hate their jobs, but they should care about the people who are part of their wage. I am being honest here when I say that they show zero interest in getting your order to you quickly.
I try not to go because I don't want to give the place my business. But it's so convenient so the business will probably be safe for a while despite the less than stellar service.

Worst night service ever. Cold fries no hamburgers. Yes I know that is what they are famous for. This is a most disgraceful location I have ever been to. Embarrassment for the franchise. Quit while your behind.
