This was my first time getting food from this location as I was headed to the ferry. There was a noticeable wait for my food. I don't mind a wait if they are making my food fresh, but they didn't say anything so I sat wondering while anxious about the delay. When I got my order, the egg was greasy and the English Muffin was burnt.
Due to how long I already waited, I didn't have time to bring up the issue so I broke off the burnt parts, and dabbed the excess grease off on a napkin.

The oil is rancid.
We ordered 6 french fries, all of them were off.
You need to change your oil.
We didn't eat them.

Took 9 tries to place a simple uncomplicated order. Then they wanted 50 cents for a small container of barbecue sauce. Wasn't the money but the principle when all the other fast food companies provide it at no cost. Pathetic!

Lobby was closed because they are short staffed. Only DT was open. It took them a while to prep my 3-item order so we waited at the window for a while. My burger was not prepped A&W standard.

Always have impressed me with the consistency of quality food, although this time it took them over 10 minutes to make a simple order when we were the only people in the store. Good food but not the fastest service.

Very rude staff!

They gave us grief when we asked for vinegar, ketchup, and STRAWS FOR OUR DRINKS! We were told we should have asked when we ordered at the drivethru speaker.there was no sign indicating this or anything, so we were floored! Have never had such rudeness at A&W before! And they just did not listen- we had to repeat everything three times.two workers at the window, more interested in talking to each other. If i was the manager and saw this, they would be fired but the one that gave us grief over the condiments (and the straws!) actually seemed to be a supervisor or manager.

Avoid this franchise like the plague.unless you like verbal abuse!

Myself and my family go for breakfast on my days off and go through the drive thru to order there famous all Canadian plate.always good food.
You should give it a try if your looking for good food

Ordered the combo advertised at 7.68 but they kept charging more and price was 7.89 and got told they can’t change price in system. False advertising

Tried it as I loved it as a child in texas. Root beer was flat and apparently Canadians don't believe in salting the French fries.

About once a week for over a year we order for the two of us using the drive through. Yesterday Thursday September 2 we ordered our usual a 3 piece chicken strips with jalapeño ranch sauce fries ice tea a double teen burger fries and a root beer. We noticed the total cost was higher but figured prices increased. At the pick up window we were going to be given a ten piece behind chicken nuggets rather than 3 chicken strips. I said that is not what I ordered. I ordered the 3 piece chicken strips. We were told you don’t have real chicken anymore and chicken strips are not available. If this is true then why are they still displayed on your menu board? We left our order with you as there was no attempt to make it right. We were very disappointed and did consider ourselves to be good repeat customers. Why do you not have actual chicken anymore? Not everyone eats a plant based diet. Very disappointed.

Excellent customer service. Co-operative staff. Will recommend for vegetarians. One of the manager Miss Ramnik having a humble and polite personality. Always pay attention to your order if she is around. Would rate 5 star as they deserve.

One of my fave drive through spots. Over the span of several years, I've had the same quick, friendly service and of course, the delicious A&W food! I would highly recommend this particular location to anyone who's hungry and on the go.

Much fresher then McDonalds imho. The burgers are definitely a notch above. Glad to be able to dine indoors again it's been too long.

Still going strong after so many years. Burgers are great and the staff at the Douglas Street location are excellent.

Good fast food. This particular location has friendly staff, the service at the drive thru is always really fast, and they always get my order correct.

No salt on orings. Didnt deliver food to table like it says. Put cheese on a burger when wasn't supposed to. They yelled our order across restaurant to get own food. There were 4 employees out front and only 3 groups of customers

Their veggies are crunchy and fresh and they are very good about dietary restrictions. Well seasoned onion rings.

I just ordered a beyond meat burger and onion rings through dine in. The onion rings were cold, and when I got home I discovered that I had the completely wrong burger.

THEN the dine in area had closed so they asked me to walk up to the drive through window while traffic was coming toward me. The person that passed me off to the one at the window did not explain the situation so I had to explain it again while standing next to a running vehicle that kept keeping toward me.

This was an extremely uncomfortable and frustrating situation.

This is not the first time this location has let me down. Won't be back.

I love this A&W:) I love how fast I'm served and how quickly I receive my order.what's the best part about it here at this location? Well I'm either biking or walking through the drive thru! Lol This A&W team has got it going on!

We went to the drive thru at 12: 45 today and ordered 5 burger meals. It was busy and that was to be expected, but we paid for our order and was asked to pull ahead. We waited for 15 - 20 minutes and when we got home we found we were short a burger meal. It's not exactly fast food either. Not to happy.

Foods good service is courteous some times its hard to understand the staff there English-speaking somewhat messy but on the whole they try hard to make you welcome with good service

I used to love going to the AW for the teen burgers, and I love that they will wrap your burger in lettuce instead of bun, so when I am on a diet I can still stop for fast food, but
The buns seem dry and the hamburgers are not juicy, they are dry too. And the prices are pretty high for fast food.

A&W is not teaching their staff how to operate in a covid environment at this location.

The shift manager on duty tonight is unsure of covid protocols and simply does not comprehend the principle dynamics behind those men and women who do not wear masks as detailed by the provincial exemptions list, which is why she refused to serve me as a customer without a mask.

Considering the low level of education at this location, I would suggest shopping somewhere else for fast food.

Good job giving the locations a face lift. The new look is much better and I like the food too.

I didn't give this location on Douglas Street 5 stars because the Hillside A @W always makes their burgers with 3 to 4 pieces of lettuce like the picture they advertise. I had to pay extra at this location because they only give you two pieces of the thin parts of the ice berg lettuce and you hardy notice any. It is disappointing that they are trying to scrimp so they can make more money.

A&W's burgers get home warm and the fries are crunchy. Those milkshakes aren't bad either. No vanilla though! That's a big sad from me.

The sweet potato fries are good but should be eaten asap. They just don't travel as consistently. They can be nice added to the burgers. Make sure you get the chipotle dip or make some at home! The burgers taste good dipped in it too: P.

The long and short of it is A&W is fast food where a bad experience is an anomaly rather than something frequent. The hormone free meat and other moves the company are an added plus.

Solid four stars I think at the moment.

They have only messed up 2 orders ever. Who cares if the drive through is slow they do it right most of the time and i cannot say that for most fast food resturants nowadays.

Long line up at drive thru, Food wasn't good, waiting in the long line Up, you'd figure the food would have been Better, at Fresh, Not burnt, or cold fries etc.sorry to say this

A&W has really stepped their game up in the fast food game. This location was a great spot with quick service considering the line of cars. Try the frozen Root Beer!

If your vehicle is low or lowered don't go into this A&W parking lot. The exit to Douglas ST is by far the worst exit I've ever seen, your exhaust and floorboards will thank you for not going in

Drive thru was ICONIC even though neither the customer or the employee knew what was being said over the microphone.

We're quick. But remember to check your bag before you go. They seem to forget to put all of what you order in the bag.

Food is great, but the only downside is the mediocre service. For exmaple, this particular store frequently forgets items from your order.

Drove by, ordered milkshakes, stood in life for what seemed like forever just to have them say that ‘actually machine is broken’ - annoyed kids and what the hell. Lol.

I appreciate the fast, friendly service there. Plus, being able to get a lettuce-wrapped teen burger is a real treat!
