Takes 20 mins to pick up a mobile order. All the Uber eats delivery people just keep cutting in line.

Came in and placed my order as I always do, but this time it took almost 30 minutes to get my food. Other customers who came in after me got their orders, ate it, and left. I just got 2 burgers. No apologies from the employee behind the counter, even after I voiced my disappointment. She just looked at me as if it was my problem that I waited so long, and put my food on the counter and went back to work. Pretty horrible experience, specially since I'm paying $22 for two little fast food burgers.

Safe location, friendly staff and fresh food + pret coffee.
The reason I avoid sitting in most of the time is due to the abnormal temperature in the store. For some reason the temperature in there is kept so hot that I begin sweating when I walk in. I have to stand outside or near a window while I wait for my order. It is uncomfortable and takes the dine-in option off the table. However, Staff is somehow friendlier than any other a&w in B. C so I continue to choose this location.

The only thing I don’t like about this place is that the staff does not wear gloves. That’s something expected specifically from the staff that’s working in the kitchen.

Great Service. - March 3 2023 @ 330pm. Food was amazing fresh and customer service was fast and friendly. Was even offered coupons for next visit. Way to go and bring back a customer.all locations should be lime this

This place is a very friendly place! Staff here are so nice. Specifically Manjot very tough girl when things gone into some bad people, very pleasing personality wise. The store is very clean! Specially the washroom! First night I had late night dinner in this place but Love staying here and added to my fave store I enjoy! Godbless everyone! Spreading love!

Quick and very polite service.
Prices are very low.
On a negative side, meat had a very strange taste like its overprocessed and boiled rather than grilled. Fries are ok. Orange juice had a very weak taste like if its mixed with water. And finally covid or not people should wear gloves when cooking. Nowadays, won't hurt either. I had to order there only becasue I haven't eaten all day and everything else was closed.

The staff at this restaurant are awesome.so friendly, kind and just overall awesome. I come in with my son to get him chicken nuggets sometimes because he absolutely loves them and the staff are always so pleasant. The food is fast, fresh and delicious. I have nothing at all bad to say about this place.

Bad experience i felt like there was a soap in my burger. I regret that I didn't complained. I was tired and felt i am not up to it

It's similar to a scam to charge you for a cup separately from the drink and a small bag separately from food

Great service from staff at Alberni store.the asst.manager (harjashan) was especially helpful when (door dash) took hrs to deliver my food and it was cold. I called and talked to (harjashan) and she made it right no questions!

I was there at 10: 15 am the place had network problem people showing up and going out hungry and I had cash I ordered
Canadian breakfast and the order showed up and I was waiting and asked me to pickup what happened to A&W?
Also I thing what happened to A&W hiring

I like the seating layout here. Quality of the food is same as any other A&W, tasty and warm but still fast food.

Too much Mayo on my lettuce wrap burger. I can’t help but to laugh but they also forgot the ketchup for my fries and it ruined my meal. It’s those little details that could’ve changed the game for my first experience with A&W. I just felt gross and miserable after eating all that mayonnaise. Sorry for the blunt post!

I honestly prefer A&W over other fast food places, I find their burgers tastier and especially love getting the onion rings or yam fries. My only complaint is at this location I ordered two spicy chicken wraps, and the receipt showed twoz but only one was provided in the bag, and this happened to me twice.

Great place but, I ordered a combo went over the order twice and they still forgot to give me coffee. Terrible service

I work security in area and only have brief time to step out and get food. This is the 3rd time this week that I go to get myself and coworker lunch during work that has been wrong. But due to time restrictions I am able to leave site, I do not see the messed up order until I return to site.
Once in awhile I understandable for mistakes. But 3 times in a week is a failure of service and injustice to those that order a Papa burger (2 patties) and get a single patty. That is theft as I pay for more than I receive.
Will never eat from.this location again and recommend those that do, make sure your order is correct.

Cashier made wrong order and refused to giving out after sale service. No a happy experience at all, never go back!

This is my go to location for A&W in Vancouver. The restaurant is nice and clean and The staff are friendly the service is fast and the food always comes out tasting the way it should. Good Job guys!

Been a long time and was surprised. Took a while for the food, but it was good. A true surprise. Jad not seen this place in 45 years.

They don’t wear hair nets and ended up finding hair in my food. The quality at this branch has deteriorated over the last few months

Apparently 250 burger orders are normal here. Waited 25 minutes for fries, even though they have 4 staff. Told the wait was 9 or 10 minutes.

I have been waiting for over a year for a refund coupon sent by A&W representative Nalini Pillay. She has since discontinued reply's to my polite emails. The meal I had here was the not served at food safe temperatures and was somehow both overcooked, and cold.
I have been avoiding A&W restaurants ever since.
I think they hope I forget about it and move on.

Disrespectful female server with short hair. I was trying to put my trash away in the wrong bin apparently, server barking instructions from behind the counter.needs a reprimand.

Perfect mobile hand off of my breakfast order and they are using paper instead of plastic bags now! Big improvement. Smooth. When I was testing the coffee subscription for a month this spring, I was on and off disappointed at several different locations with how the mobile transactions for various reasons (especially not getting the coffee ready for pickup) but now it’s great. Big fan of their all-Canadian breakfast, something you can’t get at other fast food places and now that you can order ahead, it doesn’t take longer than other places to pick up breakfast. Plus you can customize how you like your eggs, toast, etc. And they’ll serve it on real plates if you dine in (when there aren’t Covid restrictions). Thanks!

Would of given it a 4 star review but the short haired worker named Kaden is just absolutely one of the worst cashiers i have ever had to deal with super rude and very very unprofessional. They rest of the staff is always so great and such a pleasure to deal with. Sad to let one bad worker spoil the otheriwise great vibes that location normally has. I now dread going there in fear of having to have a run in with Kaden and their unprofessional words and ways. Hopefully management addresses this appropriately as I notice I am not the first recent review complaint about short haired worker "Kaden"

Went here yesterday early in the morning.cashier was helping the kitchen staff but I came home and realized she forgot to put hash brown on my all Canadian special.the cashier has the worst attitude and not friendly.

The stuff touch with their hands the food, they don't put gloves, and it is more expensive than the competence, with the price here you can eat in an ordinary restaurant, cleaner and with a personalized service.

Last night I had a Teen burger which is delicious. Ms. Pooja was adorable and full of personality plus.she was attentive, entertaining and knowledgeable. She is a huge asset of your Resturant and deserves much kudos.we will definitely back soon

Well maintained location week, with really great late night staff (24hr location). It's close to home, so I stop by on weekends for quick eats, and it's always spotless with fast and friendly service.

Never had to send an order back, and it's always fresh and tasty. Frozen mugs at this place are always a treat.

The best A&W in the Downtown area!
Of all the ubiquitous burger chains in North America - A&W is my personal favourite. A&W have been able to differentiate themselves from other chains not just by their burgers alone - but by serving quality on the other elements of the fast food dining experience. The first of these is having root beer on draft, served in an iced, glass mug. No other chain offers this. However, not all A&W branches/franchisees make the effort to serve their exceptional beverage in this way. Thankfully, the Alberni St does. I have been 7 or 8 times to this particular branch, and they have got it right every single time.
On my latest visit, service was great - I noticed that the servers smiled and greeted every patron that entered. My server waited patiently whilst I decided on my order (Pape Burger Combo w/ Fries, Root Beer & a separate bag of onion rings).
I waited with almost bated-breath to see what container my draft of root beer would be served in.imagine my delight when I saw her take a frosted glass mug out of the fridge. I stood in awe as the draft was poured in; heavenly nectar steadily rising up the mug.
I had to take a sip straight away. Oh wow! Even on a nippy late October afternoon - nothing equals to the taste; sweet and creamy. Sipping from a tin can just does not cut it. This is hands-down, the best way to experience a root beer. If you are a root beer aficionado, taking the trip here just for the beverage is worth it! The stores on Dunsmuir and Denman do not offer this experience.
Now for the food - manna from heaven!
My Papa burger was delicious - two juicy patties, excellently seasoned. The Papa burger is my go-to choice at A&W, I like the seasoning and simplicity of the trimmings that adorn it; just onions, mustard and pickle.
The fries were exceptional too - russet thick, with the outer coating crisp and holding its structure well. The interior of the fries were blanket soft, with a noticeable content of potato. No hollow spears in this generous portion of fries. The hefty portion of wagon-wheel sized onion rings are fully deserving of their legend status.
Wherever you are in Downtown Van, you will never be too far from an A&W. However, its worth making the effort to come to the Alberni St branch in particular. In my experience their service is far superior to that of the other downtown branches (Robson; Granville; Dunsmuir; Denman etc.y'all need to take note - Alberni is how it should be done).
The Alberni branch is open 24-hours too, so even if you have a hankering for a double Mozza burger at 5am - they got you!

Open 24 hours. Really good staff over there. I am really impressed with there service. Fried Onions are delicious. Actually I am working near to that. So in break time in night, I always go over there to eat delicious food. Chicken wrap is awesome. I tried new massroom burgers as well.

It’s A&W. A fast food burger restaurant. I find the. Burgers here are better than most other fast food chains. This location does not have parking and you will need to find pay street parking.
The location is only a few years old so the inside is bright and new. I ordered the Mozza Burger Combo which included fries and a drink. If you stay in to eat they give your drink a chilled glass Mug which is amazing. Definitely put their special seasoning spice on your fries. Food did come out cold, both the burger and fries were cold and slightly stale.

The worst A&W in the chain.its close to me so I used to go often but I couldn't tolerate the deep fryer smell from the poor ventilation so I stopped going. Tonight the burger was good but the grease smell, cold fries and dirty restaurant put me off again. Back to Tim Hortons.

Bit of an odd setup inside that can get crowded. The staff are very friendly and the food is prepared fresh. Restaurant is very clean.

Always check your order. They forget something every single time. And trying to get what you've paid for is a pain.

Food was exactly what I expected but the new paper straws they use were terrible and made the drink taste like paper. Worst part was at the end of my drink a piece broke off and flew into my mouth

Really enjoyed the Beyond Burger. This location is closing for renovations for a bit. I look forward to their new look soon

My first time trying an A&W joint, and it was well worth it. Went specially to try the 'Beyond Meat Burger' and was amazed with the taste similarity of a plant based burger with a cheese burger. The research team at A&W has done a pretty amazing job with this burger patty it is so close in taste to the beef one that I am at a loss of words. Now back to this joint the place was clean, staff was friendly and service was good.
