Order 4 sandwiches and all of them has no sauce on it so it was dry as hell. Kinda like eating a salad with no dressing or a hamburger with no ketchup, mustard or mayo.

Quantity of sandwich was good but quality first and if the overall eating experience is not good then bye bye

I'm an out of towner and decided to swing by after picking up some jerky across the street.

Reasonably priced at under $10 for an assorted sandwich. I was super surprised to bite into this even after a night in the fridge. The baguette was incredibly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! I would say it's the best baguette I've had for a banh mi.

I'd recommend to stop by if you're in the area and I prefer this place over Saigon. Would come back!

This is the go to place for all your Banh Mi needs here in Vancouver. I love their sandwiches. French miss! A couple sandwiches and I’m good for lunch.

Love their Banh Mi, in my opinion it is the best in Vancouver area, bread is fresh, meat and condiments are tasty.

Vietnamese sandwich was super affordable and delicious!:) I got the tofu (vegan) version, and it was a substantial portion and only $8:) will visit again. I also found it pretty simple and healthy.

I've noticed they cheap out on the sandwiches when you don't tip.eg.less filling and/or day old bread.

Ordered a vegetarian sandwich. It came with nothing but pickled radishes and carrots for a cost of $6, which is pathetic. Such pickled radishes cost less than 0.25cents. For a $6 sandwich at least should have vegetarian hams and lettuces. See photo. Such ingredients shouldn't cost this much. The most cheapest ingredients for such price.

The freshest buns and best lemongrass chicken bahn mi around. Makes my mouth water everytime im in line!

The Sub is very delicious especially for what you paid.

I wanted to give 5 stars, but I am giving it three stars because they make me wait 20 mins before I am actually able to order. The couples in the front did a huge order of 30 subs or something, and the employees chit chat non-stop while making the sandwiches at snail speed.

The ladies are so nice here and nothing beats a banh mi house special on a fresh baguette. I also usually pick up some, nem, deep fried tofu and pickled veggies when I stop by.

Ba-Le Deli and Bakery is my favourite place to get Vietnamese banh mi! The bread is never soggy and has the perfect crunch, they have an assortment of meats ranging from Vietnamese ham to lemongrass chicken (vegetarian options too!) and it always taste fresh. Besides their banh mi, I love their cha chien (vietnamese ham) that you can use for other meals and their cafe sua da (iced coffee). Their prices are very reasonable and the service is fairly quick. They also allow you to skip the wait by ordering over the phone. Overall, amazing eatery!

Second time having Banh mi here. Love how soft their banh mi is. Ordered special, grilled beef and pork. Highly recommend the special and pork but not a big fan of the beef one. Maybe grilled beef just didn’t go well with the banh mi. Not bad though but just not a good combination. Will be back thank you

The best Vietnamese Subs in Vancouver. Pretty cheap but the prices are creeping up. Minimal parking but it's free if you can find some. Order ahead b/c they always sell out by around 4 p.m.

Update: they have switched the mayo in their sandwiches to something less palatable but I don't know what. Its more bland and its actually upsetting my stomach in a bad way. I'm gonna miss their bread but I don't think I'll be going back anymore; it's going to be Bean Banh Mi or Banh Mi Saigon from here on.: (

Been coming here since high school. I love their banh mi. Prices are reasonable for such great baguette. I love it!

They have very good Vietnamese sandwiches. Many different selections. My favourite is the grill pork. Decent size sub, the bread is always fresh -crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also sell Vietnamese coffee, desserts, snacks, and drinks. A lot of time there is a long line up because everything is made to order. They do accept calling and order ahead before picking up if you don't want to wait in line.

Good, basic bahn mi place. They are busy, but always fast with your order. If they keep raising their prices, though, they are going to soon cost the same as all the hipster bahn mi shops that are springing up everywhere! I've never had a bad experience here, though and I don't give 5 stars very often.

This is one of my favourite places to eat banh mi, they're delicious. The bread tastes very fresh and everything is well-seasoned. I really like their special and grilled pork banh mi. They have a really great selection of flavours/toppings for the banh mi and they have some vegetarian options too.

They also have some drinks and desserts available (canned drinks, iced coffees, dessert drinks) too.

I like their subs (shredded chicken & tofu) but I especially like this place because I can buy Vietnamese donuts (Banh Tieu) here!

Great Banh Mi, but don’t order the coffee. Coffee only comes 80% full. Not enough condense milk in the coffee.tasted way different from what I tasted in Vietnam.

I'm not sure what everyone sees here. Toasted day old bread, microwaved meat.on.everything. Asked for extra spicy, received no spice. Really didn't want to but came back to ask for a side of hot sauce only to find out they use sirracha. Man. I guess the price is okay but I went to a convience store across the street and given a homemade hot sauce for free. If this is Vancouver's banh mi I really have to wonder. I feel bad writing this but I know it could be better.

Best Vietnamese sandwiches in Metro Vancouver, hands down. Great ingredients and great value. A must-try for bahn mi fans. Pro move is to request double veg with your sandwich.

Excellent sandwich, only complaint I had was that they didn’t tell me it was this good so I only grabbed one, I should’ve bought more.

You can buy just the buns to take home and make your own subs. Also an excellent baguette to dip in stews.

Excellent! Always loved Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches from Ba-Le Deli & Bakery! The quality and authenticity of the bahn mi served at this unassuming Ba-Le on Kingsway is hard to match. I’ve been coming here for years and highly recommended this place. Staff are super friendly too?

One of the best places for Bahn Mi in my mind. Have tried some other places but they just don't hit the spot. From the fresh baked in house bread to the in house deserts and meats. If you have never been before, parking is super premium!

One of the best place to get Banh Mi! The price have gone up since the first time I had one of their sandwich (about 15 years ago!). But they've justified the price recently by increasing the size of their bread.

Very good subs but I just don't like harassed by the panhandler lady outside the store. You can count on her being there everyday.

Price per sub sandwich very reasonable and lots of varieties. Taste average not as tasty as years passed.

They have a large selection of subs and the bread is also fresh. The subs are pretty cheap and they load them up pretty good so it's great value. I would recommend the special sub. I wouldn't recommend eating any of their subs in a car because the bread crumbles like crazy. Another to thing to mention is that they only take cash or debit only if the purchase is over $5. Also, parking in front is very limited and congested.

Came to purchase their pate and mayo which is nice option. However they don’t sell the banh mi subs retail only the commercial location does!

I paid for 6 sandwiches and was only given 5. I called to inform them that they made a mistake but the manager said she will give me a credit. I don’t want the credit I do not to go back there again. I noticed that the people working in the back did not wear a mask while preparing the food.

I've been coming here for.at least 10 years? ! Well, long enough anyway and it is still my fav sandwich place. Service is fast and food is always great, prices are reasonable as well. A true gem!

Dissapointment! The sub was great. Service 0/5. I was lining up for the sub politely and one vietnamese lady came infront of me and budged in, almost pushing me over and the cashier served her first when she spoke viet to her. The cashier watched this happen and she knew i lined up first but did not care. Afterwards, there were couple more ppl that got there after me and their subs came before mine. I felt so disscriminated because i did not know how to speak vietnamese.

I grew up eating Ba-Le subs and the freshness of their ingredients, consistency in quality, and kindness of the workers always keeps me coming back! They have classic meat ones and a new fully vegan sub as well!

I've been a customer of this place for over 25 years, it is consistently fantastic and the vegetarian options are delicious.

Sets the standard in Bahn Mi sandwiches. Low prices too! Cash/debit only as is usual in these types of places. This is a small location, more for take out than dine-in (only 3 dine-in tables) but it is usually busy because the food is so good.

None bakery to get something on the go. Good choice of sandwiches with crunchy baguette. Very reasonable priced. Good as well the choice of desserts

We placed a large order for a birthday party. Everything was packaged up, cut in half, peppers were bagged separately, tofu vegetarian sub was bagged separately from the meat subs and they even called to let me know the order was ready at pick up time (I was running behind scheduled pick up time). The subs were a big hit at the picnic party. Everyone enjoyed them!

Like their deep fried meat patty where you can cut up to make your own banh mi if you also buy their French bread separately.
