I loved the playlist, the service was fast and very nice, the food was delicious - went so fast that I had eaten it before I remembered to take a photo - and the owners were really sweet and helpful.

Orders got messed up very badly.

Did a takeout for three people, one person requested for mild spice while the other two requested very spicy. Unfortunately the mild spicy order was made very spicy and the very spicy orders didn't have any spice at all.

Also did the order for one with rice, one with dhal roti and one buss up shut - got one order with rice and two dhal rotis.

All three of us ordered chicken curry which was very dry and felt like it was just made with basic storebrand curry powder - nothing special.

Overall, very disappointed with the food and order accuracy. The atmosphere was really good and the server made the place feel very welcoming.

Best kept secret, hole in the wall, mainly takeout place. Some seats for dine-in. Family-run.

The best and only Trini joint in Vancouver city proper. Goat (bone in), veg, beef,
chicken, and shrimp curry roti or on rice with peas. All excellent. I'll be trying stewed chicken and oxtail next. Then try everything on the street food menu like doubles. Yum!

I love their food. Reminds me of home. This place literally cant be better. Good prices for some delicious food. Probably the best comfort food in the world. The curry tastes so authentic. And dont get me started on the roti used for the doubles.

The best! I've tried everything on there menu and been back a few times. Everytime is exceptional. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere to this east van gem

I really wanna LOVE this place but the doubles lack salt and are kind of dry. They’re still good but don’t fully hit the spot

Went to try their doubles and dhal Puri roti and sadly they were out of doubles so we ordered a chicken and beef dhal Puri roti and it did not disappoint! Just the right slice (we ordered medium) and enjoyed every bite. Came out piping hot after 20 min made fresh to order. We will definitely be back!

Ordered takeout to try something new in the neighborhood. We had prawn curry and chicken curry with buss up shut, and everything was super delicious! Ordered medium spice and the prawns were pretty spicy, like not white people medium. But not so hot as to obscure the beautiful flavours. I scarfed it. We’ll be back.

Oh man, first time trying this restaurant and it is So tasty! Love the dhal Puris as the dhal is super fine but the puris are huge! (like the size of a tortilla) lol which isn't bad but I ordered 6 on the side without knowing the size.haha

Got the chicken rice plate and Beef rice plate and it is so tasty! Also got a "doubles" which was so tasty and spicy I loved it! But do advise to maybe eat it fresh as it was a bit soggy when I got it home (20 min ride from the shop) haha.

Definitely going to be coming to this gem again! ️

Stewed oxtail and the roti were delishhh. ~Was a lil surprised that coleslaw is sold as a side~ Looking forward to trying other things on the menu, stoked that there is a Trini spot in town

First inside today at crack of noon. Brilliant move. Standing room only before we finished our meals. Had curry goat with rice and peas, daughter had chicken, wife had chicken roti. All excellent and lots to eat. Can't wait to eat the rotis I also ordered for takeaway, a veg and a beef. It got busy quick so I will always aim to hook up with Roy, the gracious host, at opening time. Nice vibe and bumping tunes. Loved it. Ate all of the takeaway a few days later re-heated from frozen and all was perfect. Fabulous rotis! Well done.

I was very hungry after a day of tradeswork. Stopped in this place randomly. All l can say is wow what a gem! I had doubles and a goat roti. The doubles were super tasty and just as messy as they are supposed to be. The goat Roti had massive chucks of goat in it. Tasted totally fresh and made with love. <3 I will totally be stopping here again. Also there was a guy on the turntable just living his best life, creating a total vibe! Check this place out if you get a chance

Thought the goat was off the charts good, chicken roti was great too. I have tried most of the other places in Vancouver since moving from Toronto and this is the best I’ve found. Only downside is the pepper sauce is not hot enough.

Food was amazing. The flavours were so exciting. Even though I'de never had Trinidadian food before, it immediately felt like comfort food from childhood. The Roti just melted in your mouth. Some of the friendliest service I've ever received. 6/5.

Friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. They food tasted like home, (Guyana), especially dahl puri. We dine and took some for our trip home

Just moved to Van a couple weeks ago and saw this spot in my neighborhood. Hadn't had a good Carribean roti since Famena's in Winterpeg years ago. Had the chicken curry buss up shut upgrade. Yo, the dopamine hit from how delicious this was, I can't even tell you. This is the best thing I've eaten since moving here. Will be back often. Can't wait to try some other menu items; goat and oxtail are on my radar. Great vibes inside if you decide to dine in. Hospitable staff and good beats.

I have no pictures because we were too excited to eat. Food is fabulous. I'm from Toronto and have been dying for Vancouver to have Trini food! Thank you thank you. We will be regulars. All I would say is call/order early in case they don't have what you want because they may run out since their food is DELICIOUS. This place has exceptional quality and takes care in providing THE BEST Caribbean food. Their take on the curry is so different than the usual Indian places I’m used too. My family and I were so surprised at the flavours and will definitely be back.

Oxtail and rice. The pieces of oxtail were small and the rice was.soupy. Overall the dish lacked flavour and seasoning

The best of the best! Very similar to my home country food Mauritius - the spices and the Goat curry was simply mouth watering! Very friendly gentleman who took the order From welcoming to having the last roti bite with the curry everything was just perfect! Baby Dhal Roti Shop u just got a lifetime customer and i will make sure I spread the word with my friends! Will be there next week again!

Born and raised in Trinidad here and this is the real deal! Their dhalpuri roti is perfectly seasoned and soft, but strong enough to hold all the curry! Their oxtail was also fall off the bone tender and ridiculously flavourful. One of the few places in this city to get authentic doubles

Finally a good roti shop in Vancouver. Paratha (buss up shot) was buttery, light and perfectly flakey. Proper Trini roti. Goat was chef's kiss. Channa was mild for personal taste but easily solved adding one's own pepper. Aloo pie and pholourie were great. The house tamarind sauce GREAT. They were out of doubles when I went, but of course will be heading back multiple times.

Update: went back for doubles and they are legit authentic *slow clap*. The bara was so light and fluffy (a thing I can't even manage in my own kitchen). The channa again was a bit mild in flavour, maybe needed a pepper kick (so give ppl options for toppings?) But loved the tamarind drizzle. Look forward to maybe in future getting some cucumber chow option for toppings.

As someone who recently moved from Toronto to Vancouver I have been desperately looking for a good West Indian place, the curry chicken tasted authentic Trinidadian, the roti was fresh and flakey the way it should be and the doubles were great as well though they are a little on the pricey side, the only thing which was a waste was the coleslaw as it was not made in-house. Very glad my search is over!

Fantastic - chicken curry was moist, flavourful, doubles soft and delicious, had the veg curry too, all of it really excellent. A bit of a wait, but they're likely just getting up to speed after opening. Will be back for sure!

Drove from Abbotsford to try the food. Got there and there was a note on the door. "Closed for 2 hrs". Disappointing.

Omg. If you have not been here yet your missing out. As a matter of fact don't go (jk). It's soo busy all my favorite things sell out if I go too late. They suggest to call an hour ahead to put your order in cause this ain't fast food but I always forget cause I follow my stomach not my head when I'm hungry. FYI the ox tail is bomb

The food was so delicious, and the pepper sauce is legit spicy. They were out of a lot of things by the evening, which unfortunate for me but good for the restaurant. Keep it up!

Flavours were great, people were very nice. Wish the meat/curry sauce portion was a bit bigger and with less bones (goat curry) as there was a lot of roti/potato for the amount of curry.

Looooong wait times - so be prepared. Small but bright shop. Good place to try Jamaican food. Not much in seating options. It is mostly a to-go place. Run by very friendly owners. Their Roti machine broke down the day we arrived, so we ordered -
