Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge

A top flight cuisine with freshness as a primary component…we were welcomed with an authentic welcoming experience…the atmosphere is cozy and inviting…the food was delicious and very tasty…the music set a very relaxed tone to the meal…my Brioche French Toast was very good and my wife quite enjoyed her Bacchus Grilled Breakfast.

Great food, but mediocre service at a fine-dining style restaurant

I called them a few days ago that I am celebrating birthday with my partner, and I told them about my reservation. They said they will provide a free pastry regarding that.

Upon arrival, they did not ask about the occasion at all. My waitress served as if he did not know the birthday happened, despite after calling them a few days ago.

Then at last, after about half an hour of sitting and waiting, we would have to raise our arm to the server to ask him for the bill.

If you're looking to celebrate someone's birthday/special occasion, this is probably not the restaurant you are looking for.

Delicious food on beautiful tableware. I especially loved the hamachi and the ravioli. The restaurant itself is getting a bit dated and you can see the wear and tear.

Went for dine out. It took an 1hr to get our starter, and another hr for our main course. The dessert took another 30mins. We expect the food at a higher standard. The beef was tough to chew through. The best part was the apple tart. We did speak with the manager about the slow service and he did try to make up for it.

Waited almost 2 hours for entrees. Both appetizers came out lukewarm. Entrees were just ok. Sticky toffee pudding was quite good. Honestly was expecting much better from this restaurant.

We enjoyed a 7 course meal with accompanying wine selected by the house sommelier for each dish. The food was excellent as were the wine pairings. The dining space is plush and traditional but good in its own old school plaster statue, oriental rugs and velvet seating kind of way. Not stuffy or too cheesy. We liked the details and the finishes.

Didn’t care too much for the piano player or the pieces played. We love the piano don’t get us wrong. We attend concerts and recitals! Buuut this felt like hotel lounge tip bowl kind of music and wish the piano itself was in lobby than in the dining room as it was a little loud and distracting.

Otherwise a great place for date night!

We went here during Dine Out Vancouver on a Monday night.
The restaurant was busy with a great vibe.
Their 3 course-dinner menu they offered was amazing.

My choices were, Ricotta Mascarpone Ravioli Trio, Lightly cooked local steelhead and Apple Galatte.
The other choices were just as delicious.

Service was excellent, the atmosphere was good.

We decided to make reservations at Bacchus for NYE for the early dinner seating. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and festive during the holidays and feels like you’re sitting in a cozy living room. We also enjoyed the live pianist. We got seated quickly but service and the food came out a bit slow. The early seating had an a la carte menu though it was different than the online version so a bit disappointed they didn’t update the online menu. We shared an appetizer and ordered two entrees and a couple of accompaniments. The celeriac soup with scallops was delicious and savoury. Our mains were the beef duo and sablefish, both well presented and tasty. Our sides were truffle fries and jumbo prawns. The fries were ok but lacked some flavour and crispiness and they forgot to bring us us the prawns but they ended up putting in the order quickly and comp’d the prawns. We were too full for dessert but they did look good—maybe next time!

We went for brunch and were disappointed frankly. Salmon eggs benedict was served at room temp, with the salmon underneath still chilled. The only thing warm on the plate was a tomato. Just not what we expected from this place, or for the price.

Nice place to have a drink and chat that's relatively quiet. Love the piano man there who plays a lot of great covers of Disney songs and 90s/00s music.

Tried the dine out menu, thought it was decent. Ordered the tartare, steak and the sticky toffee. Server was really nice and friendly. Ambience is filled with a live pianist in the background.

It's very festive atmosphere and staff were really nice. I definitely recommend this place to others.

This is one of my all time favourite restaurants in Vancouver! It so reminds me of my trips to Europe and that elegant charm. The pianist adds a lovely warmth to the already amazing ambience. I dined there for my birthday last year and am thinking of going back again this year.

Each meal was cooked exactly as requested. Their choice of dishes complimented each other.

I had xmas afternoon tea on weekend at 2: 30pm seating. Scones were not being warmed up nor served with butter n clotted cream. 4 scones were stacked up on the top of the sandwiches in a same plate. The server told me that the kitchen staff were extremely busy n could not serve warm scones separately in a basket. However, I already prepaid my afternoon tea set for 2 with 18%gratuity but I did not receive any good service.

I went here for an anniversary recently and the atmosphere is wonderful and very cozy especially with the winter decor and the pianist. The food had a good taste but honestly by the time we got the food it was barely room temperature, it would have been nice if it was actually hot. Service for everything else was so fast and convenient but it felt like the food took forever to get to us.

The only positive aspect of our dining experience was their beautiful Christmas decor. Their breakfast/brunch is boring, there is nothing special and exciting on the menu. What was even worse was how cold and inattentive the staff were toward us and, the lounge wasn't even that busy today. I regret taking my girlfriends here. It was such a waste of our beautiful Sunday afternoon.

So happy with our decision to eat here! Such a beautiful place with a warm, welcoming lounge area and a great burger. Their carpaccio was underwhelming but oh well.
