Banana Leaf Original (Broadway & Willow)

Adorable place! My partner and I did the $27 7 course menu! It was amazing for the price. The opening salad was the only unexciting part of the meal however everything else was so perfect! The ginger fish was one of the best I’ve had in Vancouver, it was so soft and melted in your mouth, the beef rendang was also AMAZING! The pandan pannacotta was such a gorgeous combination. I really highly recommend this place, esp if you’re looking for a date on a decent budget. We were so full! The staff was also so friendly and accommodating.

Great food and kind service. I’d recommend eating here. The 1 star off is bc my wife and I ordered 2 apps and a main to share. They “assumed” both apps should be doubled as if it was per person (this was NOT one of the pp items on the menu) which was rude. So we ended up with more food than we wanted and paying twice as much for the apps. Was only lunch and we weren’t looking to eat a lot. So be careful to EXPLICITLY state you want ONE of an item.

The Atmosphere was great. The service was amazing and the Food, Wow. We will be back guaranteed.

The food's great, had tables ready almost immediately during lunch time. The pork skewers were so flavorful!

Food was great and well priced. After 9pm has a few items (food and drinks) on happy hour. We ordered the Mee Goreng (subbed beef out for chicken) which was delicious and presented nicely in a leaf as well as the 3 Layer Iced Milk Tea.

The rest of our table ordered a range of items including the Singapore Laksa which they said was ok but nothing special. Table also ordered the Baba's Chicken Wings and Fried Oysters which they seemed to enjoy.

Recommend sticking to their special items as marked in the menu.

I came here to have some laksa with my friend knowing it's delicious but as an appetizer I ordered the calamari. And oh my goodness they were so delicious that we couldn't stop eating them!

I really loved the staff, and friendliness of them, and their service. Really awesome food and I would go there again when I travel back hopefully in the near future. The hostess was really nice in communicating the menu as I was new to the city as a tourist. Thank you again.

Servers were quite attentive! Ordered roti, beef skewers, hainan chicken which came with soup and rice, and eggplant with basil. Overall the food was quite delicious, however the soup that came with the hainan chicken was too bland. The roti was not bad, wish it was a little more fluffy. Didn't take photos of all the food, we were too hungry

Food was delicious, as per usual with generous helpings, despite a slightly larger pricetag than some competition. The ambiance and decor have improved from the most recent interior renovation. I'm still not sure how they manage to water all those plants on the ceiling!

This is a must try for people who love good Asian food! The fresh young coconut is AMAZING, almost as good as the ones you can get in Asia! The Hainanese chicken and the BBQ skewers are to die for. Try it, and you taste buds will definitely thank you!

Great place for any occasion with friends/family or even for a meal on your own. We had the 12 course dinner tonight (minimum 2 people) and it was $59 per person. There was an option for 9 course meal for $49, but we decided to go for the bigger portion because we skipped lunch.

It included: papaya mango salad (with peanuts), roti cani with a dip, three satay chicken skewers, three deep fried whole oysters with a dip, a bowl of steamed mussels, three scallops (cooked to perfect), shrimp/mango/tomato/bell pepper stir fry, three lobster tails, deep fried fish, green beans with shrimp, beef rendang, and lastly their delicious deep fried banana with vanilla ice cream.

Seafood was fresh and the portion between three people was perfect! The rendang was slightly dry, but still edible. They still have the plexiglass in between each party which is great to see that they are still being cautious.

They got me with the old food-by-weight trick and served me like 10 crabs that weren't even that good. This was a few years ago but just remembered.

A waiter recommended us order more even when we already ordered two main course and two sides for two of us

I have always enjoyed the food at Banana Leaf, but thisntimenInwas somewhat disappointed.the flavors of the 11 course tasting menu were far too sweet
they changed what it was in the past.

I get the need for change, but it isn't the savory flavors of Malaysian cuisine I have always loved, and this easy anything but.

I will be back but not likely to try that again.

The portions are generous, and the flavors are simply divine. The interior is tastefully decorated, creating an inviting ambiance. Must-tries include the garlicky beans, flaky roti, and succulent beef satay. Don't miss the beautifully presented fried rice served in a pineapple bowl. The service is outstanding, adding to the overall dining experience. Prepare to be transported to the flavors of Malaysia in this delightful culinary haven.
